Im Sechs-Runden-Ko-Funktion, former IBF Welterweight champion, Kermit Cintron (35-5-2, 28 KO) is coming full circle when he takes on Eduardo Flores (23-20-3, 15 KO) in a junior middleweight bout.
Cintron, who for most of the last decade was a heralded prospect, turned world champion, is reuniting with the team started him to his journey.
Everything has been great for this camp and I got excellent sparring and I am ready to go,” Said Cintron.
The Reading, Pennsylvania native is happy to fighting just forty-five minutes away from his hometown. He will making his first appearance in theCity of Brotherly Lovein fifteen years.

Fighting in Philly is exciting. I will have lots of family, friends from school and other friends be able to drive and see the fight. It is a great opportunity for them to watch me live. It’s been a long time but I am looking forward to it.

Most of Cintron’s fights in the past decade have been high-profile fights that have been seen in on premium cable television. Cintron is taking this stage of his career one fight at a time.
It is all up to my promoter Marshall Kauffman and King’s Promotions. When he says that I am ready for a bigger fight, that is when we will move to that. I am just trying to get my feet wet again. I am excited for this opportunity and to be back with Marshall. Marshall and Joe Pastore trained me to get to the top. Now Joe is training me and Marshall is promoting me and I am happy to be back with them. I am just trying to get back to being my old self again. I have been working on walking my opponents down.
This fight is ticketed for 154 Pfund, but Cintron has eyes on welterweight glory again.
We will slowly work our way down and see how my body feels. This will be at 154. The next fight, I am looking at 150-151 and then hopefully 147.
In Flores, Cintron is fighting an experienced foe who has been in the ring with former world champion Carlos Baldomir plus a bevy of contenders and prospects.
I really do not know much on him other then he has fought a bunch of good fighters and he is from Ecuador. I just expect me to be my old self and if that is the case, a knockout should be happening am Freitag.”

King’s Promotions signs former world champion Kermit Cintron

LESEN, PA (März 28, 2016)–Marshall Kauffmans Königs Promotions is proud to announce the signing of of former IBF Welterweight champion Kermit Cintron.
Cintron of Reading, PA hat einen Rekord von 35-5-2 mit 28 Knockouts.
Cintron won his first twenty-four bout and established himself as one of the most feared welterweight’s in the world.
Of those twenty-four wins were stoppages over Said Ouali (7-0), Omar Davila (12-2), Ian Mackilop (14-1), Elio Ortiz (25-6) and Teddy Reid (22-5-1).
After coming up short against WBO world champion Antonio Margarito, Cintron stopped David Estrada (18-2), which set up a title opportunity against Mark Suarez.
Am October 28, 2006, Cintron stopped Suarez in five founds ton win the title in Palm Beach, Florida.
Cintron made two defenses of his crown with stoppages over Walter Matthysse (26-1) and Jesse Feliciano, before losing to Margarito for a second time.
Seitdem, Cintron has posted many quality wins over the likes of Lovemore N’dou (46-10-1), Juliano Ramos (15-2), Antwone Smith (20-2-1), Jonathan Batista (14-1) and his last bout, which took place on March 15, 2014,when won a ten round unanimous decision over Ronald Cruz (20-2).
I am very happy to add Kermit to the King’s Promotions stable,” sagte Marshall Kauffman des Königs Promotions. “Kermit and I have a long history together and we did some special things when I trained him. I am glad Kermit has come back home and now as a promoter, we feel we can get Kermit back into some big opportunities and get him in position to become world champion again.
I am excited to finally sign with a promoter,” Said Cintron. ” I have had some offers but this is more exciting. This is the best thing for me in my career because Marshall trained and managed me. He knows me personally and he knows what I need in my career and I think its a great match. I am focusing on staying busy and getting another crack at a title, and I know Marshall will do the job in getting me the right fights and I will get that title shot.
