King’s Promotions Thomas “KO” Snow ready for statement win over Del Valle Friday night in Washington, DC

Washington, DC (Me 12, 2016)– Sa a Vandredi night in Washington, DC, Thomas nèj will meet Luis Orlando Del Valle (21-2, 16 KO nan) in the co-feature bout of nationally televised show live on BET.

The show is promoted by Roc Nation Sports.

Snow of Washington, DC has a record of 18-2 ak 12 knockouts and this is a big opportunity fighting on a big platform.
“Kan Fòmasyon te ale gwo. It was a perfect camp and now it is time to do something, and I am going out there to get the win.
Asked what he knew about Del Valle, Snow did know much other than some basic information.
Del Valle is a conventional fighter from Puerto Rico. He has a similar record, but hasn’t fought many good guys. I saw his fight with (ansyen chanpyon nan lemonn) Vic Darchinyan. (A fight that Del Valle lost via unanimous decision in 2012).
This is a fight that most boxing experts believe is a crossroads fight, with the winner leaping into contention, but Snow does not feel the pressure of the fight.

I think he has more to lose then me. I am moving up two weight classes. I would prefer to be fighting at 115 liv, but the opportunities have been coming at higher weights. Avèk ki yo te di, I don’t think he is on my level. So I am confident in this fight and the win will be an awesome breakthrough.
Despite fighting in his hometown, Snow does not think that plays any part in who will win the fight.
There is no advantage to that. In boxing, it just takes one punch and that crowd I not help that.
I know what I did in training camp and I am prepared. I am not fearful of any man. God blessed me with skills and I am going to do the work. I just know by keeping God in your life, everything will go great for you.
Said Snow’s promoter, Marshall Kauffman of King’s Promotions, “This is a great opportunity for Thomas. He has shown throughout his career that he has talent. His only losses have been to undefeated guys, but he has had a tremendous camp, ak nan Vandredi night he will show that he should be one of the top contenders in the super bantamweight division

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Me 11, 2016) - Nan Madi, Me 10, Washington, D.C.’s undefeated Dusty Hernandez-Harrison (29-0, 16 Ko) and Bakersfield, California a Mike “The Silent Assassin” Dallas Jr. (21-3-1, 10 Ko) participated in a media workout at Urban Boxing DC in Washington, D.C. in advance of their May 13 fight at the DC Armory. Hernandez-Harrison vs. Dallas Jr. will headline a fotèy boksè event in a 10-round welterweight bout that will be televised live on BET beginning at 10:00 p.m. AK/PT and streamed live on global music and entertainment platform, TIDAL.com. Co-featured fighter Thomas “KO” Snow (18-2, 12 Ko) nan Washington, D.C., who faces Dorado, Puerto Rico aOrlando “Orlandito” Del Valle (20-2, 15 Ko), and undercard fighters Mike Balogun (5-0, 4 Ko) of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, who will fight Capitol Heights, Maryland nan Devon Mosley (0-4-1), and Greenbelt, Maryland nan Sam “Vanilla Gorilla” Crossed (2-0, 1 KO) of who takes on Damion Reed (2-13, 1 KO) of Danville Virginia were also in attendance during the media workout nan Madi.

After shadow boxing around the ring and a few rounds working the bags, all five fighters participated in interviews with invited media members.

Below is what the fighters had to say during the workout:

DUSTY HERNANDEZ-HARRISON:

“I think a lot of people are underestimating Mike Dallas Jr. I think they’re counting him out too early. A lot of times when people come back from a tough loss they train harder, they take it more seriously and erase all the mistakes they made in previous training camps, so that’s what I’m expecting him to do. Luckily Barry Hunter [Hernandez-Harrison’s trainer] knows him well as a fighter, so I’ve been going off of what he says.

“I’ve been getting great sparring in. I came home from sparring Canelo Alvarez and went right into to sparring with Lamont Peterson, Austin Trout, Demetrius Hopkins and other fighters on the card. Just really good sparring.

“I’m excited to fight on BET. It’s pretty cool. I think it’s good to bring boxing to a new audience. Èspere ke, I put on a good fight to get them entertained. And we have Justine Skye performing before our bout. She’s got a completely different fan base than I do and I think it’s another good way to add a new audience to our event.

“I took a lot of things out of training with Canelo at his training camp. It was good to get a different perspective of a training camp. Usually it’s all about me, everything is catered to me and everyone is concerned about me, so it was good to take a step back and see how someone like him at the top level prepares for a world title fight. Luckily, I walked away knowing I’ve been doing everything right.

“Fighting in my hometown of Washington, D.C. is better for me. I feel like I have more to fight for. I have more to lose, which for me helps. You’ll never hear me say “no mas” in D.C.

“At my age, my preparation changes with every fight. I remember fighting in Connecticut in April then Miami in August, which seems really close, but Billy Briscoe [Hernandez-Harrison’s assistant trainer] was there and said ‘you’ve gotten so much stronger.’ That’s just the age that I am right now. I’m really maturing and getting that man strength. Every fight I feel a lot stronger.”

MIKE “THE SILENT ASSASSIN” DALLAS JR.:

“I feel very good ahead of this fight…confident and strong. I’m just ready to go out there and perform. There’s more pressure on him than me fighting in his hometown.

“I’ve gotten good training in for this fight. The Bay Area has a lot of good sparring out there right now. I had good training with Ben Bautista [Dallas Jr.’s trainer] and we’ve been pushing it. I had to dig deep in training to get through it and I’m ready to dig deep in the fight.

“I took some time off to let my body rest and heal and to let my mind get together. Now I feel great. I’m ready to come back and get back on top of things. I’m going to go out there and do my thing.

“I know Dusty is a pretty good fighter. I know he can box. I’m just ready to go out there, be smart and execute the game plan. I’m ready for people to know I’m back and there mentally. I’m ready to get back in the game and take care of these people in these bigger fights.”

THOMAS “KO” SNOW:

“I know my opponent [Orlando Del Valle] is a conventional fighter from Puerto Rico. He’s a basic fighter…a basic one-two puncher. He’s the best opponent I’ve faced to date. Both of us have two losses, so I know it’s a crossroads fight for us. We’re going to go in there and do what we came to do.

“I’ve fought in D.C. a lot of times. It’s my home.

“It’s awesome because I’ve known Dusty since he was six years old. We used to run together. We were just talking about that over in the corner. If you watch at any of his amateur fights, you’ll hear me in the background cheering him on. I’ve been in his life for a long time and it’s awesome seeing a young guy get his opportunity and make the sport of boxing grow.

“I know our amateur program in D.C. is awesome so you have to give a shout out to all the amateurs. D.C. is about to be the mecca of boxing once again. We will have six, seven or eight champions in the District of Columbia. It’s rich with boxing.

“I think fighting on BET is a great thing. I think it’s great that boxing is on free TV now and people don’t have to pay for it. For those people who can’t afford those things, I think it’s awesome for them and I think it will make the sport of boxing better.

“I’ve changed a lot over the years. I’m supposed to be dead, locked up or in jail. Having God in your life, your perspective of life and everything changes. I’m calm and comfortable in my situation. I thank God for the opportunity. I thank Roc Nation Sports for the opportunity and I thank everybody who is supporting Thomas “KO” Snow. We’re ready to do it.”

MIKE BALOGUN:

“During my career, when I was playing football, I used boxing as another form of training for cardio. After my career was over, it was natural for me to keep training and now we’re here. Football is a business. I got released and had another opportunity to play in the Canadian Football League as well as the Arena Football League, but football takes a toll on your body and I played the game for a long time. It was just natural for me to transition. I still needed something to stay active, because without activity, I didn’t feel like myself.

"Mwen pa konnen anpil bagay sou advèsè mwen [Devon Mosley]. I know he’s a southpaw just like me That’s pretty much all I know and all I need to know.

“I’ve prepared for this fight just like any other fight…hard work and dedicating myself to my craft. At the end of the day I’ll reap the fruits of my labor.”

SAM “VANILLA GORILLA” CROSSED:

"Mwen pa konnen anpil sou advèsè mwen [Damion Reed]. I know he is a tall left-handed guy. I only watched a little video of him. I’ve been sparring a lot of left handers and then we just happened to get a left-handed guy, so it worked out pretty well.

“I’m still a little disappointed about my last performance in D.C., so I am going to come out and put on a show on Vandredi, Me 13.

“Anyone you get in the ring with poses a threat, men an menm tan an, I am confident in what I have done to prepare. I’ve been sparring guys with 20 pro batay, konsa, I think I’m good.

“I played football and baseball growing up. Fondamantalman, what got me into boxing was that I got picked on when I was younger and smacked around on the basketball court. I always said when I grow up I want to be able to beat up the dudes that picked on me. What’s funny is that a lot of guys that bullied me are now begging me for tickets to my fights.”

Orlando Del Valle made his professional debut on April 11, 2008 at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey where he knocked out Rey Rivera in the third round. By October 2009, he had compiled a record of 7-0, including a third-round knockout victory over Christopher Rivera at Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Nan mwa jen 6, 2011, at Roseland Ballroom in New York City, he notched an impressive ten-round unanimous decision victory over Dat Nguyen in a fight telecast on Showtime’s ShoBox. Darchinyan controlled a majority of the bout, relying on his experience to pressure the young contender. In the ninth round Del Valle’s perseverance almost carried the day when he staggered Darchinyan with a tremendous left hook, badly hurting the former world champion. Darchinyan, sepandan, was able to survive the round and hold on for a ten-round unanimous decision victory. After the defeat, Del Valle moved to Mexico City to train with Hall of Fame trainer Nacho Beristain. He rebounded in 2013 with two technical knockout victories over Andre Wilson and Juan Jose Beltran. Sou Me 31, 2014, in a bout televised by HBO Latino from the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Del Valle faced another tough opponent in undefeated fellow Puerto Rican Luis Rosa. The ten-round, evenly matched fight went the distance producing a memorable, crowd-pleasing battle. Nan wonn nan senkyèm, Del Valle sent Rosa to the canvas with a left hook and in the seventh round Rosa was deducted a point for a late punch, but in the end Rosa was awarded a unanimous decision victory. Since the Rosa setback, Del Valle has won all three of his fights, with none of them going the distance, including his last fight on April 9, in which he scored a second round technical knockout win over Josh Crespo at Rockingham Park in Salem, New Hampshire. Del Valle will look to keep that streak going on May 13 against Snow.

Deeply rooted in D.C. and the capital community, Thomas nèj is an experienced fighter with an impressive record of 18-2 (10 Ko). Snow, who supplements his boxing earnings by working as a floor technician at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland, began boxing at the age of ten at Round One Gym in Capitol Heights, Maryland, compiling a stellar amateur record of 129-10, which included three Washington D.C. Metro Golden Gloves championships. Nan 2004, he took home the national PAL amateur tournament title in the 119-pound weight class. Sou Novanm 5, 2005, he made his professional debut with authority, knocking out Ronald Viera in the first round at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He would go on to win his next nine fights, with seven of those wins coming by way of knockout, before he ran into fellow undefeated prospect and future world title challenger Teon Kennedy who dealt Snow his first professional loss in July of 2008. A streak of six consecutive wins would follow before he suffered another setback, again against an undefeated prospect in Nate Green. Following the defeat, Snow took nearly two and a half years off from boxing. The southpaw returned to the ring on March 6, 2015 and continued to live up to his “KO” moniker with a first round technical knockout win over Christopher Sanchez at the Omar Shrine in Charleston, South Carolina. Snow followed that win with a second round knockout of Tibor Nadori on December 4, 2015 at the Rosecroft Raceway close to home in Fort Washington, Maryland. He now faces a crossroads fight when he takes on Del Valle on May 13.

At the age of nineteen, Darmani Rock is already drawing comparisons to former heavyweight greats of the past. Rock has received high praise for his powerful jab and ambidexterity. Standing at 6’4”, he moves with an unparalleled lightness and speed for a fighter his size. Rock earned nation-wide accolades following a banner year in 2014 when he took home the USA Boxing Junior and Youth Open, Youth Continental and Youth World super heavyweight titles. During the 2014 Junior and Youth Open in Reno, Nevada, Rock shut out the 2013 National Youth Champion, John Luna, 3-0. This impressive performance was followed by another super heavyweight title at the Youth Continental Championships in March 2014 in Quito, Ecuador where he defeated Argentina’s Kervin Espinola, 3-0. Rock then took home the gold medal at the prestigious World Youth Championships in Bulgaria in April 2014 by a 2-1 decision over Germany’s Peter Kadiru. Rock also took home the 2014 World Junior Amateur Championship and capped off 2014 by being named Philadelphia’s Amateur Boxer of the Year at the annual Briscoe Awards. His most noteworthy win, sepandan, came in May 2015 when he beat Cam Awesome, a career amateur who has been called the next Chris Byrd, in Las Vegas for the National Golden Gloves title. Rock also captured the 2015 U.S. National Amateur super heavyweight championship.

Pandan ke chak moun gen yon advèsè tèribl nan devan l ', yo tou de gen je yo sou Sergey Kovalev ak senti tit twa mond l 'yo, men premye yo gen biznis pou yo ale nan nan Samdi lannwit.

NICOLE DOVE, Vis Prezidan an Maketing ak Avoka Jeneral - Evènman Main:

"Mwen ta reyèlman renmen remèsye Andre Ward. Li pa t 'gen yo pran sou yon avyon de gè defèt nan premye batay li nan pwa loud limyè, men li te fè li e mwen panse ke se louabl.

"Nan batay dènye l ', Sullivan te vin contender an obligatwa pou senti IBF Sergey Kovalev a.

VIRGIL HUNTER, antrenè Andre Ward an:

"Plis pase anyen, nou respekte Mr. Ward pou reyalizasyon l ', kredibilite l ', li se li ki yon nèg super nan espò a. "

Barrera jis k ap pase yo viktim nan premye e nou pral fè fas ak l 'kòmsadwa. Nou te ap tande yon anpil nan pale ak konvèsasyon ap pran plas kote li se konsène, e nou konnen ke li kwè sa l 'ap di. Yon fwa ankò, nou kontan anpil sou opòtinite sa a epi ou pa vle manke moman sa a istorik nan Samdi mitan lannwit. "

JOSEPH DIAZ JR., NABF Plum chanpyon:

"Vini non Mas 26, Mwen konnen mwen gen yon batay vrèman difisil devan yo nan m '. Mwen konnen Jayson Velez se yon veteran ki gen eksperyans nan bag la. Li se yon vanyan sòlda. Li gen yon avantaj rive sis-pous sou mwen se konsa li k ap pase yo dwe yon reyèlman gwo batay. Mwen konnen li te vini sou nan yon pèt, Se konsa, mwen konnen li vrèman vle rebondi tounen epi montre tout moun ke li se toujou yon contender tit mond.

JAYSON VELEZ, Top-rated contender plum:

"Mwen vle di Bondye mèsi premye, evidamman li te fè tout sa ki posib. Mwen vle remèsye pwomotè mwen, Miguel Cotto Pwomosyon ak Pwomosyon ti gason Golden ak tout ekip mwen. Mwen pa gen twòp yo di san konte ke sa a se yon gwo batay. Jozèf rive goumen. Mwen tounen al jwenn goumen. Nou tou de vle pou pou genyen. Nou tou de pran defi. Moun kenbe mande m 'poutèt sa mwen te pran sa a batay danjere e repons lan se fasil ... si mwen vle yo dwe pi bon an, Mwen gen al goumen pi bon an. Jozèf se youn nan pi bon an.

"Mwen pèdi batay dènye mwen, Se konsa, mwen bezwen pou pou genyen. Mwen vle pou pou genyen. "

ROBERT DIAZ, Head Promoteur - dore Pwomosyon ti gason:

"Li evidan evènman prensipal la pale pou tèt li. Ou te gen Andre Ward kont yon jenn nèg undefeated tankou Sullivan Barrera, men evènman an ko-prensipal ki pral nan twou san fon de jenn, avyon de gè grangou kont youn ak lòt nan Jayson Velez ak Jozèf Diaz. Yo ap jenn gason.

Nan yon jou ak laj kote yon avyon de gè ki pèdi vle pran petèt yon reaparisyon oswa melodi moute, oswa de oswa twa, anvan yo pran yon batay ki gen anpil risk ak Jayson Velez ap fè li dwa apre. Ki montre li vle jwenn tounen sou tèt yo ak li konnen sa li gen pou fè pou jwenn gen ... li te gen pa rete yon avyon de gè tèt-nivo tankou Jozèf Diaz. "

Li k ap pase yo dwe genyen yon batay aksyon-chaje. "

JOSE "KI KI" SANCHEZ, antrenè Jayson Velez a:

"Mwen wè Diaz kòm yon avyon de gè gwo, men mwen gen Jayson nan anpil bon kondisyon ak li la tou pare pou batay la. Mwen konnen li k ap pase yo dwe yon batay la byen mennen yo paske yo te pare, ak menm bagay la se yon reyalite pou avyon de gè mwen Jayson Velez. Li te travay trè difisil pou sa a batay e mwen konnen li se pare pou batay la. "

TONY WALKER, Direktè, HBO Espò:

"Nan non Vis Egzekitif nou an Prezidan Pyè Nelson, nou yo trè kontan yo dwe isit la nan zòn nan Bay, ak yon gwo foul ak fanatik boksè gwo, kòm nou gade pote ou doubleheader sa a nan Samdi lannwit.

Nan bag an boksè, li pa janm la rekòmande ke ou neglije yon grangou, undefeated avyon de gè tankou nou gen nan Sullivan Barrera, Se konsa, mwen ta renmen akeyi Sullivan nan rezo a ak di li mèsi pou pran sou defi sa a.

"Ouvèti difuze nan televizyon yo pral Jozèf Diaz kont Jayson Velez, de moute-ak-ap vini mesye jèn, de jenn zam, ki panse yo ap pare pou sèn nan gwo. Tout moun nan tout, li pral yo dwe yon gwo difuze, 9:45 PM ET nou pwomèt ou yon jou lannwit enfòmatif ak amizan ak ekip emisyon nou yo. "

ANDRE WARD, De-Tan Mondyal Champion ak tèt-rated liv-pou-liv avyon de gè:

"Mwen santi mwen bon epi mwen menm mwen pare ale. Mwen pik nan moman an dwa. Mwen jis eksite jwenn li nan Samdilannwit.

"Mwen itilize yo kondwi pa Oracle Arena sou 880 kòm yon jenn ti kabrit sou wout mwen nan Gym wa a ak mèvèy si mwen te kapab fè l 'gen yon sèl jou ak [antrenè] Virgil [Hunter] te konn ap di avèk konfyans, 'W ap ale nan gran tit la.' Kòm mwen te resevwa ki pi gran, Mwen itilize yo ale nan kèk nan kat yo mete yo sou nan tèren an. Mwen te toujou yon amatè ak mwen ta jis rèv. Next bagay ou konnen, nan 2009, Mwen te nan yon plonje oswa naje goumen kont Edison Miranda. Si m 'te genyen, te gen pwobableman yon bon chans ke mwen ta pran yon piki tit ak rès la se istwa. Isit la nou yo ankò, li nan m ' 7th tan nan Oracle ak li la toujou yon benediksyon.

Ou vle al goumen pi bon an epi si ou pa ap goumen pi bon an, ou vle goumen contender nan nimewo yon sèl.

"Yon fwa mwen menm mwen nan bag la, li nan kay mwen an.

"Kèlkeswa sa Ward gen, Mwen pral abitye ak li epi li resevwa li.

"Mwen gen de men. Li gen de men. Mwen gen yon travay moun fè gwo Mas 26.

"Si opòtinite pou prezante tèt li kote li te fè mal ak mwen wè ke pwenson m 'yo ap boulvèse l', Lè sa a, nan kou mwen pral jwenn nan gen, gen agresif ak asire yo ke mwen pran l 'soti pi bonè posib.

"Mwen konnen ap resevwa sou andedan an, koupe bag la ak pran li nan kò a touswit pral kraze l 'atè. Sa k ap pase yo fè l 'pa deplase kòm anpil ak pita sou nan jij mwen kapab peyi kou visye nan tèt la. Mwen pral pran li nan kò a touswit.

Mwen vle montre mond lan ke Joseph Diaz ta ka pwochen gwo bagay la nan boksè, Se konsa, mwen ki resevwa fòmasyon trè difisil yo mete yo sou yon gwo batay pou fanatik yo batay, dwe pran anpil agresif, epi fè li yon lagè nan la. Mwen espere ke Jayson Velez se 110% pare paske mwen vle l 'yo dwe nan pi bon li.

: Si m 'genyen sa a batay, epi fè yon deklarasyon, Mwen panse ke mwen kapab deplase nan estati contender ak èspere ke jwenn yon tit mond tire nan fen ane sa a. Mwen vle goumen opozan difisil ane sa a paske mwen vle montre mond lan kiyès mwen ye.

"Mwen santi mwen tankou yon bèt lè m 'etap nan bag la e mwen ka wè li nan bòks. Chak fwa mwen jwenn on kou efikas, Mwen ka di ke mwen blese opozan m 'yo. "

JAYSON VELEZ, Top-rated contender plum:

"Nan nivo mwen, chak nèg se yon contender tèt. Mwen gen nan tren pi rèd ak amelyore defans mwen.

Li nan ale nan gen yon gwo batay.

"Mwen vle yo dwe chanpyon nan pawòl Bondye a. Mwen konnen li vle li tou. Nan samdi, nou pral konnen ki moun ki vle li pi. Nou tou de vle pou pou genyen epi nou tou de se fòmasyon pou yon genyen. Yon batay ant pouvwa ak vitès se yon gwo matche ak-up. Nou pa mansyone li se Meksiken ak mwen se Pòtoriken. Ou ka espere yon gwo batay ak li nan pa gen yon sèl ou vle yo kapab manke. "

Sou Mas 26, NABO Junior Welterweight Champion Maurice “Mighty Mo” Hooker (19-0-2, 14 Ko) risks his unbeaten record against Wilfrido “La Roca” Buelvas (17-5, 11 Ko) of Barranquilla, Colombia in a ten-round junior welterweight bout. Hooker, rated number seven by the WBO, is coming off of a career-best win on October 17, 2015 against his toughest opponent to date in Ghislain Maduma (17-2, 11 Ko) nan Madison Square Garden. Hooker successfully defended his NABO title with the 10-round decision win over Maduma on the undercard of Gennady Golovkin vs. David Lemieux in a fight that was featured on the event’s “freeview” in the United States and streamed online around the world. Buelvas, a former WBA Fedebol champion, has won two of his last three bouts by knockout and fought Humberto Soto for the WBC Silver International Super Lightweight title in 2014, going the 12-round distance before losing a decision to the former World Champion.

Born and raised in Oak Cliff, Texas, a rough suburb of Dallas, Hooker found a boxing home at Maple Avenue Boxing Gym by way of an outreach program for at-risk youths. His natural talent was soon noticed resulting in him competing as an amateur, during which time he participated in over 100 batay, compiling a record of 97 ranport ak sèlman 7 pèt, ak 67 victories coming by way of knockout. Hooker turned professional on April 29, 2011, taking on the vastly more experienced Tyrone Chatman (7-1, 5 KO nan) at the Orpheum Theater in St. Louis. After four rounds, the judges saw the fight 40-36, 37-39 ak 38-38, making the fight a split draw. Undeterred, in his next fight on June 24, 2014, Hooker scored his first professional win, knocking out Wilbert Mitchell in the first round at the Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco, Texas. Eleven wins (eight by knockout) later, he took on undefeated Abel Ramos (8-0, 4 KO nan) sou Janvye 17, 2014 in a bout that was featured on ShoBox from the Cook Convention Center in Memphis. After eight close, hard-fought rounds, the judges saw the fight a draw. Hooker followed the draw with a six-round unanimous decision win over Adrian Rodriguez Garza (8-2, 6 KO nan) sou Avril 26 at Fitzgerald’s Casino and Hotel in Tunica, Mississippi. Four consecutive knockout victories would follow before he took on fellow undefeated prospect Eduardo Galindo (10-0-1, 7 KO nan) sou jen 26, 2015 at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center in Dallas for the vacant NABO Junior Welterweight Championship. “Mighty Mo” did not disappoint his legion of hometown fans who saw him capture the title with a sixth round technical knockout victory.

Hailing from Rancho Cucamonga, California ak batay soti nan fwaye a boksè nan Oxnard, undefeated Danyèl "kontraksyon" Franco (12-0-3, 7 KO nan) meets Mexican veteran German “Panteonero” Meraz(52-37-1, 30 Ko) in an eight-round featherweight bout on Mas 26. Featured for the second time on a Ward undercard, the sharp-boxing Franco will look to improve on his undefeated record against an opponent with literally six times his pro boxing experience. Meraz is only 29 years old but has already logged an amazing 90 professional bouts and has won four of his last six fights by knockout. He has fought current World Champion Juan Carlos Payano, Three-Time U.S. Olympian Rau’shee Warren and highly-touted prospect Gervonta Davis, going the distance with all three.

Franco began boxing at the age of eight, akumulasyon yon dosye amatè nan 67-15, genyen chanpyona a Oxnard PAL an 2006 ak gan chanpyona a Eta Kalifòni Silver nan 2007 sou wout la. Pandan pwofesyonèl premye Franco a sou Desanm 18, 2010, li te bat Emanuel Machorro nan Club 401 nan Ontario, California atravè yon twazyèm pentch teknik. Malgre ke yo te enskri kòm yon elèv aplentan nan CHAFFEY College nan RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Franco enpresyone nan karyè li byen bonè, konpile yon dosye undefeated ak de trase nan avni nan tout California nan fen 2013. Youn nan moun ki trase vin atake Alejandro Ochoa nan Pe Cannon nan Montebello, California nan mwa Septanm 20, 2013, but in a rematch three months later, Franco outmatched Ochoa ki fè nòt yon sis-wonn desizyon inanim viktwa nan Westin Hotel Bonaventure nan Los Angeles. Nan mwa jen 20, 2015, during Ward’s return to the ring at Oracle Arena, Franco saw action in an eight-round junior lightweight bout against Jonathan Alcantara and won by unanimous decision. A hand injury suffered in that bout kept Franco out of action until Desanm 21when he scored a decision victory over Hector Garcia in Tijuana, Meksik.

A promising unbeaten prospect from Salinas, California, Rudy “The Revelation” Puja. Jr. (7-0, 6 Ko)looks to extend his undefeated streak against Carlos “Kalimba” Lozano (7-5, 4 Ko) nan Ensenada, Mexico in a six-round middleweight bout. Puga turned in a career-best performance in his last match-up on February 12 in knocking out Alejandro Osuna (4-2, 2 KO nan) in two rounds at the Double Tree Hotel in Ontario, California. Koulye a,, just a little over a month later, “The Revelation” will step into the ring against a tough opponent in Lozanao, a southpaw who has never been stopped and already has a ten-round decision victory under his belt.

Having compiled an exceptional amateur record of 99-8, Puga made his professional debut on September 2, 2011, scoring a fourth round technical knockout victory over Raul Talamontes at the Sports Complex in his hometown. Back in the ring less than two months later, Puga Jr. raised his record to 2-0 with a first round technical knockout of Jose Jesus Hurtado at the Sherwood Inn in Salinas. Nan mwa jen 2012, he sent Thomas Turner to the mat four times in scoring a second round technical knockout win at the Joint at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. After a little more than a year away from the ring, he rededicated himself to the “sweet science” with a vengeance and on February 17, 2014, Puga Jr. made his comeback stopping Charon Spain in the third round with an overpowering body shot at the Salinas Storm House in his native Salinas. Promotional issues kept Puga Jr. out of the ring for the next year and injuries led to a slow 2015, but Puga Jr. scored a a fourth round technical knockout win over of Katrell Straus on Avril 24 and a six-round unanimous decision over Juan Carlos Rojas on Novanm 21, both fights taking place at the Double Tree Hotel in Ontario, California.

Brooklyn’s 20-year-old, undefeated Junior “The Young God” Younan (7-0, 6 KO nan) retounen nan zanno a nan Mas 26 after a nine-month layoff to take on Cristian Solorzano (4-7, 3 Ko) nan Sonora, Mexico in a four-round super middleweight fight. Younan has battled multiple nagging injuries since scoring a second round technical knockout victory over Mike Sawyer on the Miguel Cotto vs. Daniel Geale undercard on June 6, 2015 nan Barkley Sant nan Brooklyn, New York. Koulye a, 100 percent healthy, Younan looks to make Solozano his third straight knockout victim. Solorzano, a naturally bigger fighter, has campaigned in the light heavyweight division and is coming off of a knockout win.

Younan, trained by his father Sherif, a former professional boxer himself, began fighting competitively at age eight and only two years later was called a “boxing prodigy” by the New York Times. He compiled an amateur record of 90-5, racking up an impressive series of titles along the way including nine Junior Olympic championships, nine Junior Metro championships, eight New York State Silver Gloves championships and five Regional Silver Gloves championships. Nan 2011, he was crowned National Junior Golden Gloves champion and was U.S.A. Boxing’s number one rated junior boxer in his weight class. Less than a month after his 18th anivèsè nesans, Younan made his professional debut on November 9, 2013, at the Aviator Sports and Events Center in Brooklyn, New York, stopping Kenneth Schmitz in the first round. Younan would go on to knockout his next three opponents before going the distance for the first time against Azamat Umarzoda on July 2, 2014 a Foxwoods Resort Casino nan Mashantucket, Connecticut. He followed that fight with a first round knockout of Marlon Farr on Out 13 the BB King Blues Club and Grill in New York on Out 13.

Chinese heavyweight Zhang “Big Bang” Zhilei (7-0, 4 Ko) joins the undercard on Mas 26 in a four-round bout against an opponent yet to be determined. The Silver Medalist from the 2008 Beijing Olympics continues to infuse excitement into the heavyweight division and is coming off of a first round technicalknockout win over David Koswara on February 20 at the Lanzhou Sports Arena in Lanzhou, Lachin.

Born on May 2, 1983 in Henan, Zhang began his amateur career in 2003, participating in the World Championships. A breakthrough came in 2007 at the World Championships where Zhang defeated the trio of Nurpais Torobekov, Rustam Rygebayev and Daniel Beahan en route to the semifinals where he lost to Ukrainian Vyacheslav Glazkov. By capturing a bronze medal and finishing the competition in third place, he qualified for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. The Chinese powerhouse nearly reached the zenith of amateur success in the summer of 2008, entering the super heavyweight finals at the Summer Olympics in Beijing against Italy’s Roberto Cammarelle. It was not to be as Zhang suffered his first defeat of that Olympiad, losing to Cammarelle, but proudly adding to the host country’s medal total with a Silver. Nan 2009, Zhang captured a gold medal at the China National Games, an event of equal prestige to the Olympics in China. 2013 saw yet another gold medal winning performance in the China National Games, setting the stage for “Big Bang” to embark on a professional career while basing himself in the United States. Sou Out 8, 2014, Zhang made his professional debut by scoring a first-round knockout win over Curtis Lee Tate in Fallon, Nevada in a fight that was televised live on ESPN2. Sou Mas 14, 2015, Zhang beat Eric George via a four-round unanimous decision at the Armory in Jersey City, New Jersey. He followed that with another four-round unanimous decision win, this time over Glenn Thomas on the highly anticipated Cotto-Geale undercard at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Jen 6. Next came a sixth round technical knockout win over Dennis Benson at The Playground in Atlantic City on Out 15. To end the year, Zhang was featured on the undercard of the Novanm 21 Cotto vs. Canelo mega-fight at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, where scored a four-round unanimous decision victory over Juan Goode.

Lokal Hayward, California pi renmen Arawon Coley (12-1-1, 6 KO nan) faces a very stern test in a six-round junior middleweight bout against Ki te swiv Ryskeldiev (11-3-2, 7 Ko) of West Hollywood, California, a Kyrgyzstan native who is undefeated in his last seven fights.

Sou Mas 26, Coley will look follow his most recent victory, a unanimous decision over Jeremy Ramos onJanvye 23 at the Marriott on Broadway in Oakland, with another win in front of his hometown fans. Prior to his January win he scored two unanimous decision triumphs, including his June 20, 2015 performance against Yusmani Abreu (who Ryskeldiev defeated by technical knockout in September) on the undercard of Ward’s last fight. Considered a promising prospect in boxing circles, Coley’s lone loss came via decision to one of boxing’s hottest prospects in Ievgen Khytrov in a bout that was televised live on Showtime’s ShoBox on April 10, 2015 from The Aviator Sports Complex in Brooklyn, New York.

Ward vs. Barrera, a 12-round fight which is presented by Roc Nation Sports in association with Main Events, pran plas Samdi, Mas 26, 2016 nan Oracle Arena nan Oakland, California and is sponsored byCorona Extra, Ticketmaster, Jesyon Corporate Vwayaj solisyon (CTMS), kontan, leve, Zappos, BodyArmor, SAN Nitrisyon, Shoe Palace and The Waterfront Hotel. Here’s what press conference participants had to say:

Michael Yormark – Prezidan & Chief of Branding and Strategy of Roc Nation

“Led by our Chairman JAY Z and his partners, Roc Nation was founded to work with artists and entertainers to guide them and help them build their careers even beyond the boundaries of the music industry. It is fitting then, that today we stand in a setting named for the legendary BB King – may he rest in peace – an artist and a man that knew no boundaries during a career that transcended his art. In a few short years, Roc Nation itself has expanded beyond the world of music, diversifying in a way that many never thought possible. Today we begin to celebrate a landmark in that expansion, as another legend, World Champion Miguel Cotto, prepares to headline Roc Nation’s first major fight on Saturday night against Daniel Geale, live at Barclays Center and on HBO.”

“When Roc Nation founded its boxing division less than a year ago, we committed to doing things differently, and what you will see on Saturday night will be different. The eyes of the boxing world will be fixed on Barclays Center on Saturday, with celebrities and VIP’s lining the ring and a captivated audience watching at home. They will watch with anticipation, awaiting not only a masterful performance from the champion Miguel Cotto against a formidable opponent, but also an electric appearance from Roc Nation artist and hip-hop superstar Big Sean, as well as the voice of New York Angie Martinez, and a host of other surprises that will make this live boxing experience different from anything you’ve ever seen before.”

“Saturday is the start of something new and fresh for the boxing industry. It is a chance for all of us to show boxing fans, and sports and entertainment fans around the world, that the action on fight night can and will live up to the hype.”

Hector Soto – Miguel Cotto Promotions

“It has been several months of hard work and dedication. Puerto Rico will shine again on the night of June 6 when Miguel Cotto defends his titles successfully.”

Ululy Rafael Martinez – Puerto Rican Day Parade

“We’re really happy this year to formalize a relationship with Miguel Cotto thanks to Roc Nation Sports and Miguel Cotto Promotions. I also want to thank Roc Nation Sports and Miguel Cotto Promotions for contributing to our scholarship fund. I’m encouraging everyone planning on coming to the Parade on June 14 to support our man Miguel Cotto On Saturday, Jen 6 at Barclays Center for the boxing match of the year.”

David Berlin – New York Athletic Commission

“Miguel Cotto and Daniel Geale represent the best in boxing. These are men that carry themselves with dignity both inside and outside the ring. Men who can be respectful because they don’t have to prove themselves with words. Where they prove themselves each and every time they fight is inside that ring.”

“Now that I am with the commission, I no longer root for fighters. I’m in a neutral role, but I do root for fights. I root for fights when fighters come into the ring and they fight hard but they leave the ring safely. I root for fights that satisfy the fans and fights where the right man has his hand raised at the end. That of course is where the New York State Athletic Commission comes in.

“This promises to be a competitive fight. Obviously a competitive fight means it’s a hard night for judges, but what I’m committing to the fighters and fans is that we are going to have competent, qualified and neutral officials in place and the right man is going to have his hand raised at the end of the fight. I wish both men good luck on Saturday night.”

Brett Yormark – CEO of Barclays Center and the Brooklyn Nets

“We’re expecting a great night on Saturday night. Se konsa,, hopefully we see all of you. Biyè yo toujou sou vant. Saturday night represents our 13th night of championship boxing at Barclays Center since we opened the building 32 months ago and boxing plays a huge role in what we do in Brooklyn.”

Pyè Nelson – Vice President of Programming HBO Sports Programming

“We look forward to two fighters who have always rose to every challenge that has been put in front of them. Daniel Geale had a lucrative opportunity at one point in time to make his HBO debut and he actually decided instead to go to Germany, to Felix Sturm’s backyard, fight him for his world titles and ended up lifting the titles away from him. He is naturally the largest opponent that Miguel Cotto has ever fought and he’s stepped up to every challenge that’s ever been put in front of him.”

“Miguel Cotto…the last time he stepped into the ring, he entered it an underdog and he ended up leaving it the lineal middleweight champion. He joined just a handful of fighters ever to win four world titles in four separate divisions and he was the first man from Puerto Rico ever to do so. He performed what I saw as one of the strangest punches ever in boxing when he touched a man on the temple and it caused his knee to twist into a knot. I’ve never seen that happen. It was an extraordinary performance.”

“We look to see in this fight, fighters who are going to give us moments of great bravery and great courage. These are the kind of men we want to have on the network. That’s what makes great fights.”

Gary Shaw – Gary Shaw Productions

“I have a personal problem with catch weights. We accepted the catch weight of 157 and I’m not here to complain about the catch weight. We’re going to make the weight. It’s going to be tough. I believe that if a fighter wants to fight at any weight that he wants to fight at, he has that opportunity, but he shouldn’t stop the opponent from fighting at the sanctioned weight which in this case is 160.”

“I believe Daniel Geale is going to win the fight. I believe that Miguel and his team made a mistake. If they were looking at the Golovkin fight, thinking that’s the Daniel that is going to come into the ring…it will not be that same Daniel Geale.”

“It’s truly an honor to represent Daniel Geale because he’s a different young man. The first time I met him, I flew to Germany. I looked around and I couldn’t identify Daniel Geale. Little did I know, he was standing against the back wall. After taking my seat at the dais, Daniel Geale walked up. I looked at him and I said “we’re in trouble! This kid looks like a choir boy not a fighter,” but he gave it all he got and he won the fight. He’s a family man. Doesn’t travel with an entourage. Always on time. Trains hard. Does everything that a true champion has to do.”

Danyèl Geale – Former Two-Time World Champion

“This is a huge opportunity and I’m very excited. We’re so excited as a team that this fight is taking place. We’ve put a great training camp in for this fight and I’m feeling as good as I ever have. Gen nan pa gen eskiz. I’m going in as the best fighter I can possibly be. I’m hoping Miguel Cotto is the best fighter he can be as well. I want the fans to enjoy a great fight and I believe it will be a great fight. I can’t wait to walk away with another title. I’m going in very confident and I know a lot of people aren’t giving me much of a chance, but I have a huge amount of confidence in myself knowing I’ve completed a great training camp. Knowing that I have put everything that I possibly can into it and knowing that I have such a great team. I look forward to Saturday night.”

Freddie Roach – Cotto’s Trainer

“We’ve had a great training camp. Miguel is in great shape. Our sparring partners on our team have been great. And we’re ready for this fight. Gary’s been making a big deal about catch weights, but they have been around for a long time and he knows how to read a contract and he’s had that contract for a long time now, so I don’t think that’s an issue. We look forward to seeing you at the fight.”

Miguel Cotto – WBC & Ring Magazine Middleweight World Champion

“I want to thank my lovely family for being here with my. My kids, my wife, my lovely mom. Thank you for always supporting my career no matter how hard it seems or looks to you. I love you.”

“I think that people are making a big issue where there does not need to be a big issue with catch weights. Freddie, back in 2009, made me go down from 147 to 145. Did anyone hear anything about Miguel Cotto disagreeing with the catch weights? Èske Pa, I was a gentlemen the whole way. Catch weights were our main point to make this fight happen. Daniel and his team agreed to going down to 157 and I hope he can make weight on Friday. I hope to see everyone there on Saturday night.”

“Freddie brings the confidence back to Miguel. He comes every day no matter what he feels and gives his best to me. When you have this kind of person in front of you giving you his best and making sure that you are going to do your best, the only way you can pay him back is bringing your best too. We only talk about boxing when we are in the gym. He’s my trainer there, but as soon as we finish our training session, he’s my friend.”

Here’s what Cotto and his trainer, Freddie Roach, te di:

Miguel Cotto – WBC & Ring Magazine Middleweight World Champion

“I feel good and in the best shape possible. I just feel ready. I know Geale is a tough opponent and he is going to bring his best on Jen 6, but I trust in the work we have done here in Los Angeles and I’m going to bring my best too.”

“After 14 years in boxing, the best decision I could have made was to take the last year off. My mind was not in boxing, but since I got here with Freddie, everything is working perfectly again. Boxing is all I know. Bòks se lavi m '. Through boxing, I raised my family and I work to provide the best future for them. They are the reason I love boxing.”

“Boxing at this point in my career is a battle with myself. Everyday I need to bring my best in the gym from morning to evening. Next week has to be better than last week. I need to ask myself to be better every day. I know that if I bring my best to the gym every day, I can bring my best the night ofJen 6 against Geale.”

“Freddie comes here every day with the best attitude and he knows how to get the best out of me.”

“It will have been 364 days to the day on Jen 6 since I have been in the ring. It’s not difficult to get back in after this long stretch. I’ve been focused on my work. I have gained more knowledge during my time off in order to get myself ready to fight again.”

“Daniel Geale is the next chapter in my career. After I get through him, I can talk about what comes next.”

Freddie Roach – Cotto’s Trainer

“Miguel’s sparring has been great. His movement has been very good. It’s hard on me in the ring! His body shots are very effective and the head shots come with it. I think we are going to get a late round knockout. Geale is tough enough to go some rounds, but a knockout in a late round…that’s my call.”

“One of Miguel’s greatest strength against Geale will be his body shots, but Miguel’s knowledge in the ring will be Geale’s ultimate undoing.”

“He has found a new home here at Wild Card and I’m glad I provided that for him. He loves this gym. He loves the atmosphere. He’s thrived in this environment and when a fighter is in a good mood and happy, he performs at the highest level.”
