DOMINIC “PROBLEMES” NOTES DEL CAMP D'ENTRENAMENT DE BREAZEALE

Carson, Califòrnia (Febrer 14, 2017) – En poc menys de dues setmanes, l'ex retador al títol mundial Dominic “Problema” Breazeale (17-1, 15 Nocauts) fa el seu esperat retorn al ring en contra Setmana Ugonoh (17-0, 14 Nocauts) a Febrer 25, 2017 a Birmingham, Alabama. L'intrigant partit de pes pesat està programat per obrir la retransmissió de Premier Boxing Champions a Fox Television. “Ja saps, viatjar a Anglaterra i lluitar pel títol mundial de pes pesat va ser una gran experiència. Des que vaig baixar de l'avió, anar a l'hotel i menjar fora i que tothom sàpiga qui ets, sens dubte va ser una bona experiència. Vaig arribar a Anglaterra amb l'esperança de tornar el títol als Estats Units, però malauradament no va sortir com estava previst.”
“Però em vaig guanyar el respecte del món de la boxa i vaig venir a lluitar aquella nit i no vaig fer marxa enrere.. Vaig aprendre més d'aquella pèrdua, després les disset lluites combinades que vaig guanyar. Em vaig adonar que era millor del que pensava. Des de llavors, les meves accions han augmentat i no puc esperar per tornar al ring i demostrar a tothom que em mereixo una altra oportunitat pel títol, ja sigui una revancha contra Joshua o una oportunitat contra Deontay Wilder o Jospeh Parker.. Vaig avisar la divisió de pes pesat que sóc un candidat legítim.”
Originalment se suposava que vau lluitar contra Artur Szpilka. Per què hi va haver un canvi en els oponents??

“Sí, Estava programat per lluitar contra Artur Szpilka i després em van dir la meva direcció que ja no em barallaria més amb ell.. No estic segur de quins problemes va tenir o si els altres van determinar que no seria una bona baralla televisiva a causa del seu estil. Ja estava entrenant al campament amb zurts, així que em vaig preparar per a Szpilka de qualsevol manera. Ara hem passat i ens preparem per a Ugonoh.”
Com va el camp d'entrenament?
“El camp d'entrenament va molt bé. Estava al campament abans que s'anunciés la lluita, així que estic en gran forma. Els meus entrenadors Manny Robles i Edgar Jasso tenen un gran pla de lluita per a mi i la meva força i el meu condicionament també van bé amb l'entrenador Darryl Hudson.. Tornem al bàsic i només intentem dominar el jab i l'un-dos seguits de grans trets que faran que el meu oponent toqui la tela.”
“Un dels meus problemes va ser sempre intentar aconseguir aquest KO i pensar-hi en lloc de moure les mans i deixar que les coses s'obrin.. He estat treballant en això amb els meus companys de sparring i anem millorant cada dia.”

Què saps del teu oponent Izu Ugonoh??
“Sincerament, Mai vaig sentir parlar d'ell fins que la meva direcció em va preguntar si volia lluitar contra ell. El vaig mirar i vaig veure un vídeo d'ell. Tal com ho entenc, solia ser un kick boxer que es va transformar en boxejador. Té algunes habilitats de boxa i sembla que serà un gran partit per als aficionats.”
“Dos pesos pesats que s'apropen l'un a l'altre i llencen cops de puny sempre tenen la possibilitat de focs artificials i algú quedi noquejat.. L'entrenador Manny i jo hem revisat la pel·lícula i tenim un gran pla per a la nit de lluita. Clarament sóc el lluitador més gran i fort, així que definitivament crec que tinc avantatge.”
Com se sent quan el teu combat sigui televisat a nivell nacional en directe a la televisió Fox?
“Ja saps, He tingut la sort de tenir les meves últimes quatre baralles televisades a nivell nacional a la sèrie Premier Boxing Champions, sent aquesta la cinquena. Em sento genial i estic agraït a la meva direcció per permetre'm la plataforma per mostrar les meves habilitats. Tinc una gran base de fans que ha crescut molt des de la meva última lluita i estic content que puguin continuar seguint-me i el meu èxit continuat.”
“És increïble que aquesta baralla sigui a Fox regular i no cal que tingueu un pla de cable car o pagueu per veure les baralles. 25 de febrer. PBC ho torna als vells temps en què es podia veure Muhammad Ali o Sugar Ray Leonard a la televisió habitual abans que el cable fos popular.. La boxa gratuïta és fantàstica per als aficionats.”
Quines són les vostres expectatives per a la lluita amb Ugonoh i com es desenvolupa?
“Vinc a Alabama per guanyar, simple i planament. Ugonoh no ha estat mai en un escenari com aquest i potser li posaré el gas al pedal i el pressiono una mica i li faré saber com és estar al ring amb un home que fa 6'7.″, 250 lliures imposant-li la seva voluntat. Va a ser 10 rondes d'infern per a ell si dura tant de temps.”

Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz Ordered to Begin Negotiating Guzman vs. Wake Fight for Vacant IBF Super Bantamweight Title

Sampson Boxing Fighters Score Four Impressive KOs in One Weekend
Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz has been given the go-ahead to begin negotiating a world-title fight between his fighter, explosive KO punching Dominican Jonathan Guzman, and the promoters for Japan’s Shingo Wake.
As per their rules for vacant championships, Lewkowicz, representing Guzman, the IBF #2 supergallo, and Kyoei Promotions representing IBF #1 Wake were ordered to begin negotiations immediately and have them completed no later than Juny 2 d'aquest any.
Guzmán (21-0, 21 KOs) is hot on the heels of a sensational eight-round stoppage victory over Daniel Rosas last Friday, Abril 29, a Atlantic City, in a voluntary eliminator for the #2 spot in the ratings.
Wake (20-4-2, 12 KOs) earned his number one spot by scoring a unanimous decision victory over Thailand’s Mike Tawatchai last June.
Also per IBF rules neither boxer may compete in another match until they face each other.
“Any boxer who is contracted with a promoter, a network, or a state, tribal or national commission to take another fight, or who is ill, injured, under a legal impediment which could prevent the bout from taking place in the opinion of the IBF/USBA, or on suspension at the time the Championships Chairman and the President order a bout under this rule shall be considered unavailable. We would then move to the next available contender. Neither fighter can take another fight until this fight for the vacant title is concluded.”
In the event the camps cannot reach an agreement by Juny 2, the IBF will call for purse offers to be held to determine who will promote the bout, when and where it will be held.
The Guzman vs. Wake fight is more good news for Sampson Boxing, who had four different fighters score sensational victories over the weekend.
In addition to the aforementioned Guzman TKO, Sampson Boxing’s Jorge “Mà de morter” Lara scored a jaw-dropping KO 1 over former world champion Fernando Montiel at the StubHub Center in Carson, Califòrnia, en dissabte. Lara had the formidable Montiel on the deck four times in a brutal beatdown that only lasted 1:37.
The same night in the same venue, future world champion and boxing prodigy David “El Bandera Roja/Red Flag” Benavidez destroyed capable New Yorker Phillip Jackson Benson by KO 2. From a dejected Rodriguez, “I thought I could have continued. I didn’t know what the referee saw, but I could have kept going.”

“I didn’t fight the fight I was supposed to. I was supposed to go in there and box, and I didn’t do it. I should have taken my time.

VICTOR ORTIZ
“I put a total of 14 weeks of work into this fight. Nothing easy about that work. Come the 30º, I’m going to prove why I beat Berto the first time.
“I know what I’m here to do. I’ve got my fire back. People claim that I don’t have the fire, but you’ll see on Abril 30.
“People don’t know what I go through on the daily. When I’m injured for months at a time, I just have me and my team. Treballem dur.
“I’m going to be back on top in no time. That’s my opinion. I know where I belong.
“I’m focusing on Berto. That’s my target and that’s my focus.
“He’s done what he’s done. You have to respect that. I’m here and I’m not going anywhere. We’re going toe-to-toe.”

“I’ve worked on a lot of different things in camp. We’re going to do whatever it takes to get the win.

Edwin Rodríguez
“He’s got some power and some style. He can do a few things. We have to go at it.
“I feel great at this weight class. I have the speed and strength to make an impact in this division.
“I hadn’t fought a southpaw in a while but we’ve had great sparring with guys like Marcus Browne. I feel very prepared. I’ve never had an issue with southpaws.
“I’m excited to be back on the west coast. This is an incredible card. I was at the first fight between Ortiz and Berto and It’s going be another great fight. But I’m coming to steal the show en dissabte nit.
“In boxing you’re as good as your last fight. Right now I’m a warrior who took more shots than I should have. I’ve improved quite a bit but I want to improve on any fights. I’m not going down again.”
THOMAS WILLIAMS JR.

“I’ve been boxing since I was five-years-old. I have an amateur pedigree and been pro since 2010. I had to take some time off in 2014 but now I’m back and stronger than ever.
“The biggest challenge is just getting to the ring. I don’t want to get caught up in the talk of what he does. It’s just going to be me in there. If I go in and do the things that I’m supposed to do, I should come out on top.
“You have to keep your punches short against a pressure fighter. A short punch will beat a wild punch any day. I just have to keep my composure and stay relaxed.
“I haven’t watched any of his fights. I leave that up to my trainers to create the game plan and we go from there. I have seen him fight before. We were on the same card, so I did have the chance to watch him live.”
JORGE LARA
“Montiel has been around a long time. He’s been a world champion and he comes to fight.
“I’ve studied him and watched him fight before. I feel I know him very well. I have a plan for how I’m going to get to him.
“I am very well prepared. I’m not worried about his experience. I’ve trained hard to be ready and I know what I have to do on fight night.
“The winners in this fight will be the fans. We are going to put on a great show and give the fans something to remember.
“If I can beat him, I can move up the rankings and get closer to a world title shot. That is my goal and this is a big step on my path.

Here is what Berto had to say from training camp:
On his improvements since his first fight against Ortiz:
“I’ve improved tremendously. Mentally and all the way around the board. There was so much that went into that fight and that camp the first time. I shouldn’t have fought that fight, but being who I am, I wanted to get in there. I was just a young fighter who didn’t take the fight seriously. I overlooked my opponent. Now I’m a much more mature fighter. I’ve pushed myself for this camp.
“This fight has always been on my mind. Even when I tried to move on, other people continued to remind me about it. Everyone said I needed to get him back. That’s the fight everyone has wanted to see and that everyone deserves. I’m going to give everyone the fight they deserve.
“I believe that coming back from my shoulder surgery that I’ve been more motivated and improving as a fighter. Everyone has seen the improvements. We’re definitely ready for anything he wants to bring. If he’s aggressive we’re ready and everyone knows I can stand there and punch”
On this training camp with Virgil Hunter:
“Tot va molt bé. It’s been a long, tough camp. I’m excited and ready to close it all in. We’ve done all the work. We’re in great shape. No stone was left unturned. It’s been a great eight or nine week camp.”
On sharing training camp with Amir Khan and Andre Ward and the motivation it provides:
“We all feed off of each other. All of us have pretty much been in camp together leading up to and through all of our fights. Even now Andre is there to watch us spar and work. It’s great motivation for all of us to be there. We’re all pushing each other to get better every day.”
On how Virgil Hunter has helped him improve as a fighter:
“I call Virgil the professional because he’s a teacher. He works you mentally. Each and every day. It’s like being in school. He drills it in your head over and over. He doesn’t let you go through the motions. You have to stay on track mentally to work on all of the things that you’ve been working on. He’s more of a teacher than a trainer.”
On what he learned from his fight against Floyd Mayweather:
“A lot of people can’t handle the atmosphere and the buildup of that magnitude. I got the chance to really find out how to handle it all. I think I surprised a lot of people around me with how easy I was taking it. I think Floyd was surprised too, he thought I would get shaken like other guys. But I felt like I was supposed to be there. I wasn’t going to be the guy who stands there in shock.”
On preparing for Ortiz:
“You have to be prepared for whatever he brings to the table. You don’t know how Victor is going to fight and if he’s going to do his extra stuff. Or if he’s going to try to box. Qui sap? Maybe you hit him two or three times and he feels like he doesn’t want to be there. I’m prepared for the Victor of five years ago.”
On Ortiz’s claim that he will knock out Berto:
“That’s what he said the first time. I’ve made it evident as well that I’ll finish him and finish this chapter. I want it to be over. Still for some reason my name comes up. People continue to cross us together. I just want to finish this chapter and finish in style.”
On what fans can expect Dissabte nit:
“The fans should expect an exciting fight. They might see the start of round 13 from the first one. It’s going to be extremely exciting. I doubt it’s going the distance. This is the fight the people deserve.”

(Abril 20, 2016) – Fight fans are in for a treat on Saturday, Abril 30 as the official boxa fan fest will be held at StuHub Center in Carson, California prior to the Lliga de Campions de Boxa (PBC) a GUINEU & FOX Esports event headlined by the highly anticipated rematch between “Vicious” Víctor Ortiz i Un altre “La Bèstia” Berto. The fan fest begins at 2:30 p.m. PT and is open to fans with tickets for the PBC on FOX: Ortiz vs.. Berto fight card.

Also included in the festivities are live performances from Metalachi, the musical stage show sensation from Juarez, Mexico plus a Corona Beer Garden and local food trucks. Fans will have the opportunity to win free prizes, signed gloves and purchase official merchandise.
