PHILADELPHIA — November 19, 2018 — This past Friday night, five members of the Hard Hitting Promotions stable scored big victories in front of a sold-out crowd at The 2300 Arena.

 

 

 

Samuel Teah scored a eight-round unanimous decision over Kenneth Sims Jr. in the co-feature bout of a ShoBox: The New Generation card.

 

 

 

The win was the biggest win of Teah’s career, who improved to 15-2-1.  Teah put on a great performance in the fight, which saw many toe-to-toe exchanges.  Teah landed more, and the harder punches, which thrilled the hometown crowd the was rooting Teah on.

 

 

 

Teah won by scores of 79-73 and 77-75 twice.

Branden Pizarro won the NBA Intercontinental Junior Welterweight title with a six-round unanimous decision over Jerome Rodriguez.

 

 

 

Pizarro of Philadelphia won by scores of 60-54 and 59-55 twice to raise his mark to 13-1.

 

 

 

Gadwin Rosa was systematic in winning a six-round unanimous decision over 114-fight veteran German Meraz to capture the NBA Intercontinental super featherweight title.

 

 

 

Rosa won by scores of 60-54 and 59-55 twice over the durable Meraz, and the Ocala, Florida native stays perfect at 9-0.

 

 

 

Christian Tapia stopped Darnell Pettis at the end of round three of their scheduled four-round lightweight bout.

 

 

 

Tapia was dominant until the corner of Pettis had seen enough.  Tapia of Coamo, Puerto Rico is 7-0 with six knockouts.

 

 

 

Light Heavyweight Benny Sinakin needed just 2:23 of the 1st round stop Darren Gibbs.

 

 

 

Sinakin scored one knockdown before the bout was halted due to a barrage of punches on the ropes.

 

 

 

Sinakin of Philadelphia is now 2-0 with one knockout.

Pizarro Battles Jerome Rodriguez; Rosa Takes On Veteran German Meraz

PHILADELPHIA — November 7, 2018 — Two members of the Hard Hitting Promotions stable will fight for NBA title belts on the non-televised undercard of a ShoBox: The New Generation event on Friday, November 16 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.

 

 

 

Junior welterweight Branden Pizarro will take on Jerome Rodriguez in an eight-round bout for the NBA Intercontinental title, while undefeated super featherweight Gadwin Rosa faces German Meraz in a six-round bout for the NBA Intercontinental title.

 

 

 

Those bouts will precede a ShoBox: The New Generation tripleheader live on SHOWTIME® (9:35 p.m. ET/PT) that will feature an all-Philly showdown between undefeated Jaron Ennis and veteran Raymond Serrano. In the televised co-feature, Hard Hitting Promotions’ Samuel Teah will face Kenneth Sims Jr. in a junior welterweight bout. Opening the telecast will be a super bantamweight matchup between Arnold Khegai and Jorge Diaz.

 

 

 

“The NBA belt is a great springboard title, and to have two of our young prospects fight for titles on this great card is terrific for them,” said Manny Rivera of Hard Hitting Promotions. “The NBA has a long history of champions which include Roy Jones and Hector Camacho, so we definitely think that this will be the first of many titles for Branden and Gadwin.”

 

 

 

Pizarro, of Philadelphia, has a record of 12-1 with six knockouts, and the 19-year-old keeps improving with each fight. Rodriguez (7-10-3, 2 KOs), of Allentown, Penn., is battle tested and has wins over two undefeated fighters, including world-ranked Avery Sparrow.

 

 

 

Rosa ,of Ocala, Fla., is 8-0 with seven knockouts. The unbeaten super featherweight will look to continue his knockout prowess as he fights the 113-fight veteran German Meraz, who has faced numerous top prospects and contenders. For Rosa, this fight will be a solid indicator of where the talented youngster stands as he climbs the 130-pound ladder.

Kieran Hooks (3-1-1, 1 KO), of Philadelphia, will fight Gledwin Ortiz (5-2, 4 KOs), of Bronx, N.Y., in a welterweight bout.

 

 

 

Christian Tapia (6-0, 5 KOs). of Coamo, Puerto Rico, fights Darnell Pettis (3-12), of Cleveland, in a super featherweight contest.

 

 

 

Light heavyweight Benny Sinakin (1-0), of Philadelphia, will face Darren Gibbs (1-5, 1 KO), of Ferndale, Mich.

 

 

 

Also seeing action against opponents to be named will be super bantamweight Angel Pizarro, of Philadelphia, and light heavyweight David Stevens, of Reading, Penn., who will make his professional debut in a cruiserweight fight.

Bristol, PA (May 8, 2017) – Super Middleweight’s Derrick Webster and Frankie Filippone will battle in an 10-round bout for the WBF International Super Middleweight title on Saturday night, May 13th at The Grundy Arena in Bristol, Pennsylvania.

That bout will headline a card promoted by Deuce Promotions , Mis Downing Promotions & Kane 5 Promotions.
Webster of Glassboro, New Jersey has a record of 22-1 with 11 knockouts.
The 34 year-old is an eight-year professional, who has amassed wins over Obodai Sai (23-1), and his most recent bout when he won a ten round unanimous decision over Thomas Awimbono on January 21st in Trenton, New Jersey in a bout he captured the USBO Super Middleweight title.
Webster will be gunning for his 4th consecutive victory since his lone defeat when he dropped a ten round unanimous decision to Arif Magomedov.
Filippone of Norfolk, Virginia has a record of 22-5-1 with seven knockouts.
The 37 year-old Filippone has wins over Aaron Jaco (17-3) & Reggie LeCrete (4-1-2).
Like Webster, Filippone is on a winning streak, as he will be looking for 7th straight win.  In his last bout, Filippone won a six-round unanimous decision over Timothy Hall, Jr. on August 25, 2016 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
In the six-round co-feature, Ikram Kerwat (7-1, 5 KO’s) of Frankfurt, Germany will take on Althea Saunders (3-3-2) in a WBF Regional lightweight title.

BETHLEHEM, PA. (April 20, 2016) – Ivan Redkach (19-1-1, 15 KOs) and Luis Cruz (22-4-1, 16 KOs) fought to a split draw and both scored knockdowns Tuesday night in an exciting main event on Premier Boxing Champions (PBC)TOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYS on FS1 and BOXEO DE CAMPEONES on FOX Deportes from Sands Bethlehem Events Center in Bethlehem, Pa.
In early action, Cruz began to establish his straight right hand when he knocked Redkach off balance and sent him to the canvas in round two. The Puerto Rican veteran controlled much of the early rounds with that right hand, great movement and overall boxing ability.
Redkach was aggressive throughout, throwing 602 punches over the 10-round bout to Cruz’s 485. However, Cruz’s 33 percent connect rate was good enough for him to dominate the first half of the fight.
The 2008 Ukranian Olympian began to find a landing zone for his big left hand as the fight wore on and late in round eight he landed one cleanly on Cruz that dropped him hard. Redkach was then awarded a controversial knockdown in an explosive ninth round when Cruz fell to the mat on what he said was a slip as a result of a push.
Both men emptied the tank in the final round knowing that one punch could change the outcome of the fight and ended with several flurries. The scores after 10 rounds were razor thin at 94-93 for Redkach, 94-93 Cruz and 94-94, resulting in the split draw.
The co-main event of the evening featured a fast pace brawl that saw unbeaten prospect Immanuwel Aleem (16-0, 9 KOs) earn a hard fought victory over Jonathan Cepeda (17-2, 15 KOs) in their eight-round middleweight contest.
Aleem and Cepeda traded power punches all fight long, with Cepeda taking the brunt of the punishment as he was out landed 272 to 107. Aleem was superior in all regards as he also landed an impressive 42 percent of his total punches.
Cepeda refused to surrender however and used a powerful right hook to occasionally stun Aleem. The still unbeaten prospect was always able to return any punishment and then some, winning by the score of 79-73 on all three judges’ scorecards.
In the televised opener unbeaten middleweight prospects collided as Junior Castillo (10-0, 9 KOs) earned a unanimous decision over Kyrone Davis (10-1, 4 KOs) in a competitive eight-round affair.
The Delaware-native Davis was impressive early with his movement and boxing abilities but the southpaw Castillo was soon able to time his opponent and land left hands to the head and body.
In the fourth round, Castillo hurt and dropped Davis in the middle of the round with a left hand after an exchange. Neither man allowed the other to gain too much momentum throughout the remainder of the fight, but it was Castillo’s output advantage of 117-92 that bettered Davis’ accuracy advantage of 36 percent to 30 percent.
Castillo won the decision by scores of 78-73, 77-74 and 76-75.

IVAN REDKACH
“I think I won, but it was a good fight.
“The knockdown I suffered was me losing my balance. I felt I controlled the fight because I knocked him down twice. I thought I could have stopped him after the first knockdown.
“I am not going to argue with the decision but I feel I won the fight.”
LUIS CRUZ
“I thought the last knockdown was a slip. That was the difference between the draw and my win.
“I hurt him. I had the power. I tried to work round-by-round. I feel that I won six rounds and that the knockdown cost me the win.
“I thought I fought well. The draw was better than a loss. Why not a rematch? He is strong and dangerous. He hits hard but I know I am better than him.”
IMMANUWEL ALEEM
“He was a tough guy. I hit him with some good shots but he kept his ground. I respect that.
“I was trying to take my time to get him out. I was being hasty. I was trying to get him every chance I got but he was tough. I am a student of the game and I was taking my time.
“My manager George Peterson has a resume of building up Paul Williams and I trust what he has in store for me. He knows what I am capable of doing. We will go after everybody, just like Paul did.”
JUNIOR CASTILLO
“It was a very good fight. I had some difficulty at first but I felt confident that I would be victorious.
“I kept consistent with my game plan and I was able to knock him down. I thought I would be able to finish him but I got too wild.
“It feels good to defeat an undefeated prospect and also go the distance. I have never gone the distance before.
“I want some kind of title fight. My confidence is much higher right.”
KYRONE DAVIS
“I felt like it was a good fight. I feel like I won. I thought the crowd swayed the judges. I felt like I won but that’s how it goes sometimes.
“78-73 was too wide. I controlled the first two rounds. He crossed over and hit me with a good shot. He may have won the knockdown round and the last round.
“If he gives me a rematch, I would love it. This is just a minor setback. I will improve after this fight and I will move forward.”

Further action will feature a pair of Pennsylvania prospects in their pro debuts as Harrisburg’s Dustin Pague takes on Philadelphia’s Rafael Davis in a four-round welterweight fight, super welterweight Nicholas Hernandez (3-1, 1 KO) in a six-round bout against Newark’s Jamil Gadsden (0-6), Philadelphia’s Emmanuel Folly (6-0, 4 KOs) in four-rounds of lightweight action and St. Louis-native Vincent Cruz (9-0, 6 KOs) in eight rounds of super lightweight action against Allentown’s Jerome Rodriguez (7-3-3, 2 KOs).
At just 21-years-old, the rising prospect kept busy in 2015 as he picked up five victories including his last out in Bethlehem where he defeated previously unbeaten Joshua Greer. The Philadelphia-product will look to open his 2016 with a victory over the unbeaten Zorilla out of Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
The 28-year-old De Alba had a 19 fight unbeaten streak snapped in his last outing in which he dropped a narrow majority decision to unbeaten Omar Douglas. Originally from Bayamon, Puerto Rico but now fighting out of nearby Reading, Pennsylvania, he’ll battle the 24-year-old Perales out of Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

Raymond Serrano decisions Jerome Rodriguez in Philadelphia

Philadelphia (January 22, 2015 ) – This past Tuesday night at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Jr. Welterweight Raymond “Tito” Serrano scored a clear unanimous decision over Jerome Rodriguez.
With the win, Serrano raised his record to 20-2 as the score cards read 59-55 on all cards.
“It was a fight that I worked on things in training,”said Serrano.
“I knew going in that Rodriguez was a slick boxer but he was a little more aggressive then I expected so I adjusted and fought smart.  After the 3rd round he seemed to fade a little bit and I started to land my shots.”
This was Serrano’s 2nd bout after a 22-month layoff and he is happy with the improvement shown in this bout.
“I thought I was better.  Rodriguez is young and hungry and he comes to fight.  I had to be smarter in this fight and I was better than the last one.”
Serrano will get right back at it as he is looking to fight on February 27 in Huntington, New York on a show that will be promoted by his promoter Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing.
“I should be back on February 27 on the Star Boxing card.  I am getting right back to the gym.  I am moving forward to accomplish the dream of becoming world champion.  I know my promoter will put me in the spots to accomplish that goal.”
