LAS VEGAS (April 13, 2016) – The 154-pound division will take center stage on Saturday, May 21 in a stacked tripleheader featuring three world title fights in the same division.  Five of the division’s top-six fighters* will square off live on SHOWTIME from The Chelsea, a one-of-a-kind 40,000-square-foot venue, inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
In the main event, Cuban sensation Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara will defend his WBA Super Welterweight World Championship against U.S. Olympian and top contender Vanes “The Nightmare” Martirosyan in a rematch of their 2012 bout that ended in a technical draw.
Brothers Jermall and Jermell Charlo will look to make history in co-featured bouts as the first twins to hold world titles in the same division.  Unbeaten IBF Super Welterweight World Champion Jermall faces his toughest test when he makes the second defense of his belt against former world championAustin “No Doubt” Trout.  Jermell will take on exciting contender John Jackson in a bout for the vacant WBC Super Welterweight World Championship.

The 25-year-old Charlos are aiming for history against stiff opposition from a former champion in Trout and the Olympian from the Virgin Islands in Jackson.

The 32-year-old Lara is a slick boxer with the ability to deliver punishment while taking very little of it in return.  Lara has notched victories over Alfredo Angulo, Austin Trout, Ishe Smith and Freddy Hernandez. As an amateur, Lara won numerous titles including a national championship at welterweight and also participated in the 2007 Pan-Am games. The fighter originally from Guantanamo, Cuba dominated Delvin Rodriguez in June of last year and followed that up with a third-round stoppage of former champion Jan Zaveck.
Born in Armenia, but fighting out of Glendale, Calif., Martirosyan represented the U.S. at the 2004 Olympics. As a professional, he won his first 32 fights before fighting Lara to a draw in 2012. The 29-year-old suffered a narrow defeat by split decision in his first world title shot against Demetrius Andrade, but has rebounded with solid victories over Mario Lozano, Willie Nelson and most recently Ishe Smith.
A newly crowned champion at 25-years-old, Charlo grabbed his title with a dominant third-round stoppage of Cornelius Bundrage in September 2015. Residing in Houston, Charlo built up his resume in 2014 with dominant triumphs over Hector Munoz, Norberto Gonzale, Lenny Bottai and Michael Finney. In his most recent outing, he successfully defended his title with a fourth-round stoppage of Wilky Campfort in November.
In 2004, Trout won the U.S. National Amateur welterweight championship and after climbing up the ranks as an elite pro boxer, he won a super welterweight world championship in 2011 by defeating Rigoberto Alvarez. He went on to make four successful defenses, including a career-best, dominant victory over Miguel Cotto in New York. He is currently on a four-fight win streak after knocking out Joey Hernandez in September to set up his world title opportunity.
Younger-by-one-minute than Jermall, Jermell Charlo is a highly ranked young fighter looking to get one step closer to a world title shot. A tall fighter for his division, the 25-year-old earned his shot at a world title with victories over Gabriel Rosado, Charlie Ota and Mario Lozano in 2014 and Martirosyan and former world champion Joachim Alcine in 2015. He impressed last time out by disposing of Alcine in the sixth-round of their fight in Houston in October.
Since representing his native Virgin Islands in the 2008 Olympics, Jackson has put together an impressive pro career. The St. Thomas-born fighter won his initial 13 fights after making his debut in January 2009. The 27-year-old earned the No. 1 spot and the title shot with a shutout victory over Dennis Laurente in August. Jackson comes from a fighting family; his father Julian Jackson was a world champion and feared power-puncher while his brother, Julius, is a contender in the 168-pound weight class.

In the main event, Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara—the consensus No. 1 fighter at 154 pounds—will defend his WBA Super Welterweight World Championship against U.S. Olympian and top contender Vanes “The Nightmare” Martirosyan in a rematch of their 2012 bout that ended in a technical draw.

The much anticipated middleweight showdown between defending world champion Danny Jacobs and former 160-pound division titlist Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin headlines the new Throwdown Fantasy Boxing Game.  Jacobs ($5100) is favored over Quillin ($4700) because the former is younger, bigger and hits equally hard.  Both are dangerous punchers but Quillin has proven to have the superior whiskers.
The most prohibitive favorite in this game is Regis Prograis ($5800) versus underdogAbel Ramos ($4000).  Prograis is a rising star whose boxing skills are far superior to always tough Abel Ramos ($4000)
Another heavy favorite is Fedor Chudinov ($5600) over aging former world championFelix Sturm ($4300).  Not only has Chudinov already defeated Sturm, he’s also younger, quicker and fresher.
Crafty southpaw Jesus Cuellar ($5400) has size and power advantages againstJonathan Oquendo ($4300).  Cuellar figures to catch Oquendo after a few feeling-out rounds.
Former world champion Chris Algieri ($5000) may have lost his last two fights, but they were to Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan.  Algieri’s aggressive style and experience should prove to be the difference against Erick Bone ($4300).
The best fight of the week may be between young, crowd-pleasing Omar Figueroa($5000) and veteran Antonio DeMarco ($4200).  The aggressive Figueroa must control the pace against DeMarco, whose best days appear to be behind him.
A heavyweight pick-em features a pair of potential future world title challengers in Dominic Breazeale ($4800) and Charles Martin ($4700).  The big punching, tough Breazeale has holes in his game that he’s been able to overcome against smaller opponents.  Martin, however, is a live ‘dog with the same size as Breazeale and equal power.  Plus, he’s a lefty.
Another heavyweight class finds a fading Chris Arreola ($4800) fighting Travis Kauffman($4500), who is moving up in clash in terms of quality of opponent.  Weight is always an issue with Arreola, which effects his ability to throw punches in bunches.  Kauffman wants to push the pace versus Arreola, taking him into deep water but winning rounds along the way.

DALLAS (November 28, 2015) – Super welterweight world champion Jermall “Hitman” Charlo (23-0, 18 KOs) stopped “Silky” Wilky Campfort (21-2, 12 KOs) in the fourth-round to retain his title Saturday afternoon on Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) onNBC from The Bomb Factory in Dallas.
Charlo used his height and jab to control the fight and keep the tenacious Campfort from getting inside and causing any damage to the defending champion. In the second round, Charlo landed a two-punch combo that ended with a right cross to send Campfort to the canvas.
The trouble continued for Campfort in round three as Charlo connected on a strong left hook that put Campfort down a second time. When the action picked up in round four Charlo upped the aggression and put Campfort on the mat for the final time with a flurry that left Campfort cut and unable to see out of his right eye.
Referee Mark Calo-oy stopped the fight 1:16 into round four. Charlo outlanded Campfort 62-11 over the four rounds and landed 30% of his power punches.
The co-main event saw Dallas’s-own rising star Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. (19-0, 16 KOs) put on a show for his hometown crowd as he stopped Alejandro Barrera (26-3, 17 KOs) in the fifth-round of their welterweight clash.
Spence Jr. fought cautiously in the first round, feeling out his opponent who came in looking to use his awkward style to frustrate the undefeated hometown fighter. While Barrera was able to land with the uppercut early on, Spence Jr. adjusted and began to bloody Barrera with a series of left hands in round two.
Barrera continued to hang tough through the third and fourth rounds, but in round five Spence came out with a renewed interest in the body attack. He sent Barrera to the canvas with a barrage to the body and followed it up shortly after with another assault on the body before referee Laurence Cole stopped te fight 1:46 into round five. Barrera was taken to Baylor Medical Hospital after the fight.
In the opening televised bout, rising prospect Erickson “The Hammer” Lubin (13-0, 10 KOs) delivered a sensational second-round knockout over Alexis Camacho (21-6, 19 KOs).
The rising undefeated star from Orlando overwhelmed Camacho with his speed right from the opening bell. He was able to penetrate Camacho’s defense with a strong jab and sent Camacho to the canvas in round one with a big right hook.
Lubin came out in round two looking to end the fight quickly and was able to land a perfect right hook. The one-punch knockout came 42 seconds into the second round.

JERMALL CHARLO
“My gameplan was to start off using the jab and to see how he’d react. It was a powerful weapon.
“I work so hard in camp, it’s a great feeling to see it translated into a victory. I knew I had advantages, so I just wanted to take my time and make sure I got a chance to show my power.
“Camp was very good. I just won the title September 12 and I’ve already defended it. Get it and defend it. I’m a real world champion.
“I love Dallas! This is like a second home. These fans are great and I look forward to coming back.
“I’ve got the best jab in the business. I’m going to keep using it, because it’s feeding my family.
“I’m going to stay right here at 154. This is my title and I’m going to defend it. I’m ready for anyone.”
WILKY CAMPFORT
“I had a problem getting past his jab. Once I got in, he was so much bigger than me and my punches couldn’t really effect him. He controlled the fight with his jab.
“I tried to make the fight happen, but it was hard to get inside of him. He’s a big guy and a really good fighter. But I felt like I was in there with a light heavyweight.
“On the last knockdown my eye got blurry and I couldn’t really see. That’s why the ref stopped it.”
ERROL SPENCE JR.
“The strategy was to be patient and to pick my spots. He was more awkward than I thought he would be. I rushed it a little bit but once I got myself composed I picked my spots and listened to my coach, I could come forward and stop him.
“The body work was really important. That’s what we train for in the gym, work the body then go to the head. In the first round I kind of got away from it but then I went back to it and was able to stop him.
“There were definitely some nerves fighting in front of my hometown fans. It took me the first couple of rounds to get over that. Then I just started doing what I usually do and it worked out.
“I want top 10 welterweights. My goal is to become a world champion. If I have to go to England to fight Kell Brook, I’m willing to do that.”
ERICKSON LUBIN
“I knew he was experienced, so I had to take my time to get him out of there. I didn’t want to rush too much. I sat behind the jab and got it done.
“My lead hand is my quickest and I saw him running in, so I used that check hook to put him out.
“2015 has been a great year. I’ll give it an A minus only because I still don’t have a world title. I’m improving as a fighter every day.
“My team is tremendous and they know me so well, they’re putting me on the track I want to be on. I want to get back in the ring as soon as possible and I can’t wait.”

DALLAS (November 24, 2015) – With training camp wrapped up and fight night just days away, fighters competing on Saturday’s Premier Boxing Champions on NBC event shared their thoughts on their November 28 showdowns and their respective training camps.
Televised coverage begins live from the Bomb Factory in Dallas at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT and is headlined by super welterweight world champion Jermall Charlo (22-0, 17 KOs) taking on “Silky” Wilky Campfort (21-1, 12 KOs). Also featured in PBC on NBC action is Dallas-native and 2012 Olympian Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. (18-0, 15 KOs) as he squares off against Mexico’s Alejandro “El Elegido” Barrera (28-2, 18 KOs) in a 12-round contest and the ring return of rising star Erickson “The Hammer” Lubin (12-0, 9 KOs), who faces Alexis Camacho (21-5, 19 KOs) in a 10-round super welterweight bout.

“I was on NBC when I got my title and now to be back there, headlining this time to defend my title, I’m more than excited. With the fight being here in Texas, I feel like I’m at home.”
 
On his matchup with Wilky Campfort:
“I had a strong camp. Before I got the title I was in good shape and I took no time off, so I’m ready and I’m going to adjust once I get in the ring. I’m listening to my coach and I’m more than ready to go in and give it my all.”
 
On training camp with Ronnie Shields and fellow super welterweight champion, Erislandy Lara:
“Erislandy (Lara) and I are in camp together and we get a chance to train and learn from each other and challenge each other. It keeps me really focused. It’s great being in camp with him and with our coach Ronnie Shields. Being in a championship stable is added motivation, but also added pressure to continue to be the best.”
 
WILKY CAMPFORT
 
On fighting on NBC in Dallas: 
“I’ve been to Texas, but I’ve never been to Dallas. I’m excited but there’s nothing like Florida and Haiti. This fight in Dallas and on NBC is such a great opportunity for me to show the people around the world what I can do.”
On his matchup with Jermall Charlo:
“Charlo is a very young, very talented and very powerful fighter. He’s undefeated and I know he’s going to fight hard to keep his ‘0.’ But I’m just going to go in there and do what I do. I know he’s going have the crowd behind him, being from Texas and all, but I plan to keep the crowd quiet. He has power, but I’ve never been knocked out, so I’m not worried about that. He’s never been in the ring with someone like me.”
On training camp with Will Montero and Milton LaCroix:
“I’ve been training the way that I normally do, because I plan to go out there like I always do. I’m trying not to put too much extra pressure on myself, even though I know this is a title fight. I’m just excited to get out there, put on a show and do what I do best.”
 
ERROL SPENCE
 
On fighting at home in Dallas: 
“It feels great to be fighting at home. I’ve wanted to fight here for a while, so it’s nice that I finally get the chance to. The fight is two days after Thanksgiving, so a lot of people will be back home from school and off of work. I’m excited that a lot of my friends and family will finally get to come out and see me fight live, instead of just on TV. I think the fight is almost sold out so I know I have a lot of support.”
On his opponent, Alejandro Barrera:
“He’s a tough fighter with experience. He has a little bit of power in him. I know he has a good jab and he’s a smart fighter, so I know I need to go in there and be smart. I need to make sure to keep the intensity up and hopefully I can stop him.”
On training camp with Derrick James: 
“This camp has been just like any other camp, except I had a new baby seven weeks ago, Ivy, so she is added motivation for me. Everything has been great and I’ve been training hard and getting my rounds in with sparring. Now I’m just counting down the days before I can put on a show for my hometown crowd.”
ALEJANDRO BARRERA
On fighting on NBC in Dallas:
“I’m very happy that I’ve gotten this fight and it’s a great opportunity to fight in a big city like Dallas. I’m excited to make a name for myself.”
On his matchup with Errol Spence Jr.:
“He is a very tough opponent so I have trained myself to the best of my capabilities. I’m ready for a really hard fight and to go the full 12 rounds. This is an opportunity to show myself in the U.S. and I am not letting it slip away.”
On his training camp:
“I’ve prepared differently for this fight than for any other. I’ve never been this prepared. Most importantly I had plenty of time in this training camp, more than usual.”

“I’m definitely excited to be heading to Texas for this fight. I’ve never fought in Dallas, so to be fighting at the Bomb Factory in front of thousands of people on NBC will be epic.”

“I don’t know much about my opponent, but I’m always ready to go. To me, it’s just another opponent. I’m training hard and I’m ready to go November 28. My team lines them up, I knock them down.”

“Training camp is going great. I’m working on boxing and focusing on my inside game so I am able to adjust if I need to on fight night. I hope by 2016, I can move into a contender slot, and by next year this time, I want to fight for a title.”

A newly crowned champion at 24-years-old, Charlo grabbed his title with a dominant third-round stoppage of Cornelius Bundrage in September. Residing in Houston, Charlo fights in his home state for the first time since a 2013 stoppage of Orlando Lora. Charlo built up his resume in 2014 with dominant victories over Hector Munoz, Norberto Gonzalez and Lenny Bottai before shutting out Michael Finney in March leading up to his world title fight.
Born in Haiti but fighting out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Campfort has not lost since his second pro fight in 2009. The 30-year-old has fought professionally in the U.S., Cayman Islands, Dominican Republic and his native-Haiti. He’s won six fights since the beginning of 2014 including stoppages of Milton Nunez and Devon Moncrieffe. In his last contest he stopped Ronald Montes in the second round on September 18.
A member of the 2012 U.S. Olympic team who boasted a highly decorated amateur career, the 25-year-old Spence Jr.will look to put on a show in front of his hometown Dallas crowd. Spence Jr. is widely regarded as one of the top rising prospects in the sport and was dominant in his PBC debut on April 11 as he defeated Samuel Vargas by fourth-round knockout and he followed that up by stopping Phil Lo Greco in the third round onJune 20. Most recently, Spence Jr. recorded a flawless performance in his win over South African Chris van Heerden with an eighth-round stoppage on September 11.
Fighting out of Monterrey, Mexico, Barrera will be fighting in the U.S. for the second time in his career after picking up a victory over John Mackey in 2012. The 29-year-old won his first 20 bouts after turning pro in 2007 and enters this fight with three straight victories including triumphs over Juan Montiel and Jose De Jesus Macias in 2015.

NEW YORK (September 14, 2015) – For the second consecutive week, the $2000 Throwdown Fantasy Boxing Game winner produced a first-time winner, Errol Acosta, who won the $400.00 first-place prize for last week’s Mayweather/Berto group, as well as bragging rights from the other 234 entrants.
There were 50 cash prize winners, minimum of $20.00, and Acosta also won the Mayweather free-roll game with the same team.

MASHANTUCKET, CT (September 12, 2015) – Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin (32-0-1, 22 KOs) knocked out Michael Zerafa (17-2, 9 KOs) in the fifth round on Saturday afternoon from Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut on Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on NBC.
Quillin and Zerafa exchanged power punches throughout the affair, with the underdog Zerafa landing several big shots that stopped Quillin in his tracks. In the fifth round, a powerful right hand from Quillin connected with Zerafa and sent him tumbling to the ground as referee Arthur Mercante Jr. waved-off the fight. Quillin landed 47 percent of his power punches and out-landed Zerafa 54-38, per CompuBox.
Zerafa exited the ring on a stretcher and was taken to Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut as a precautionary measure. During Quillin’s post-fight press conference, he was put on the phone with Zerafa, who said that he was okay. Zerafa has been undergoing tests, his CAT scan is normal, and all indications are that he is likely to be released from the hospital tonight.
The victory for Quillin sets up an all-Brooklyn middleweight world title fight with Daniel “The Miracle Man” Jacobs tentatively set to take place this December. Jacobs was ringside as part of the PBC on NBC broadcast team and was interviewed after the fight to share his thoughts about the future collision.
In the co-main event undefeated star Jermall “Hitman” Charlo (22-0, 17 KOs) knocked down Cornelius “K9” Bundrage (35-6, 19 KOs)four times en route to a third round stoppage to win a junior middleweight world title at 25-years-old.
Charlo came out firing, knocking down Bundrage in the first round with a sharp overhand. He followed that up in the second round with a straight left that again sent Bundrage to the canvas. Charlo began the third round with a barrage of punches that ended in Bundrage tumbling to the mat. One final flurry late in the round put Bundrage on the mat for the fourth time, prompting referee Johnny Callas to stop the fight.
Charlo’s twin brother and fellow undefeated boxer Jermell cheered him along in his corner and the two embraced immediately upon Jermall’s victory. Charlo out-landed Bundrage 33-20 over the three rounds, per CompuBox.
In a light heavyweight bout, 2012 U.S. Olympian and undefeated rising star “Sir” Marcus Browne (16-0, 12 KOs) stopped former world champion Gabriel Campillo (25-8-1, 12 KOs) 55 seconds into the first round, after unleashing a series of shots to the body that knocked Campillo down twice.

“It is hard to celebrate a performance like that, especially when someone is leaving on a stretcher. Unfortunately that is part of the game. I just pray that he gets better and gets home to Australia safe and sound.
“I made a bad mistake in my past when I fought Miranda.  I learned that you have to give every guy credit.
“What’s important is that I’m ready for Danny Jacobs. Now it’s time for Brooklyn to see me and Danny Jacobs. We’ve waited for a long time for it.
“I like Danny because I’m a big fan of his. But business is business unfortunately.
“[To Jacobs] We can do it right here if you want to take off that suit and put on those gloves. Lets do it right now.
“I’m back in camp on Monday. I’m getting ready for Danny Jacobs.
“Right now he’s the champ, I’m the challenger. I like to be in that position. It motivates me. I fight for all the kids who were told they wouldn’t make it.”
DANIEL JACOBS, Middleweight World Champion is expected to take on Quillin on December 5.
“I’m from Brownsville in Brooklyn. I never ran and I never will.
“December 5 at Barclays Center.  I’m the champion and he’s the challenger.
“I don’t know how it’s going to go down, but it’s going to be a great fight.
“In the sport of boxing, you can’t make too many friends.
“It will be one of the biggest fights that Brooklyn has had in a long time.
“I’m a mover, I’m a power puncher and I have a high boxing IQ. He has trouble with guys that move and I can think on the fly.
“This [fight] is all the motivation I needed…what other motivation do you need to get your butt in the gym and get prepared?
“They call me the ‘Miracle Man’. It’s no secret that I have motivation to be the best I can be. Come December 5, Brooklyn is going to have a new star.”
JERMALL CHARLO
“I’m the champion of the world. It’s all God-given. I couldn’t ask for anything better. I feel good.
“You never put a dog in a pen with a lion. I said I was going to do what I was going to do.
“This is the future. I am the future of boxing.
“I studied and I stayed ready. K-9 got cut and I stayed ready.  When I turned pro seven years ago, I didn’t know this would be possible.
“I was ready for 12 rounds, and I knew he was ready for 12 rounds.
“I’ve finally made it to the championship status. To be classified as a world champion, it’s history.
“The fight went exactly how we thought it would. It was getting rough and I was ready for it. It was just a matter of time. It’s the best feeling in the world.
“I want to become even better. I want to defend my title and show everyone how good I am.”

“You win some, you lose some. The problem was, I’ve been inactive. I was in there with a good fighter who has been active and is hungry.
“I’m older and have to stay active to stay with these young guys. I’m not going anywhere. I have to stay active to see punches coming.”

“My performance was definitely a statement to everyone in the light heavyweight division – watch out. We’re here!
“He was standing straight up and my trainer said to hit him with a nice straight jab. I threw the 1-2 and then I followed up.
“I took my time and just let it come.
“My trainer Gary Stark told me to come around the arms and that’s what I did. You can see it.”

“I was just telling Zerafa when we faced-off that I’ve been in his shoes before and I know how it feels. No disrespect. He doesn’t have to tell me that he’s got nothing to lose, I know that. I’m worried about looking good in this fight and doing what I’ve been working on in the gym.
“I know he’s beaten all the best in Australia, but I’ve beaten the best all over the world. He’s not going to be in his backyard and have that comfort he’s used to.
“We’re at a point now where I need to showcase my talent at this level. The exposure on NBC is great. We can be seen by so many people and build something that will last for years to come.
“Not everyone knows I was raised all my life in Grand Rapids, Michigan just like Floyd Mayweather and he was really one of my biggest inspirations. Fighting on the same day as him is the closest I’ll get to fighting on his undercard, which I’ve always wanted to do. I still get to headline my own event on NBC and I hope that people are inspired by how hard Floyd and I have worked to get to where we are.

“It’s going to be an exciting fight and I’m going to give it my absolute all. We know it’s going to be a hard fight and our team has trained extremely hard. We have a great game plan and we’re going to give it our best shot.
“I didn’t know too much about Quillin when I accepted the fight but he is one of the best in America so we know that it’s going to be a hard fight and we’re going to make it a war. We’ll leave it all out on the table and the better man will win.
“I feel good at this weight. I’m strong and smarter with less stress on my body. I’m feeling switched on and very confident.
“Losing has made me a better, tougher and stronger fighter. There’s nothing to lose in this fight, I have everything to gain.”
MARCUS BROWNE
“I’m blessed to be in this position and I’m looking forward to getting into this fight and putting on a great show.
“Everything is part of the plan. I’ve just taken it one fight at a time and now we’re here in a great position.
“Training camp has been great. We’ve worked on everything and covered all the corners we need to. The sparring with Charles Foster and Lennox Allen has been great and they’ve gotten me ready for the lefty.
“Campillo is a veteran and he’s going to be there. You just have to find him and get him out. I’m going to use my use, my speed, my strength my power. All of that will get me the victory.

“I feel great, It’s been a very good camp. It’s tougher with the baby at home but it’s all a blessing. I feel like I’m resurrected.
“I fought recently and that first fight back there were some jitters. By the fourth round of that fight I really wanted it again. It’s great to be on a ‘Kid Chocolate’ show. I remember when he first started, he was on some of my shows, throwing chocolates to the crowd. Now look where he is now.
“I’m looking to work my way towards a title shot. My team pushes me very hard. Everybody believes in me and that’s big. Boxing is all confidence. I’ll always have tons of confidence.
“We’ll see the old me back in the ring Saturday afternoon. It’s so great to be back in the ring again.”
