Gleason’s Gym will host the fourteenth annual Fantasy Boxing Camp at Honor’s Haven Resort and Spa.
The Boxing Camp
If you like baseball you cannot go to Yankee Stadium and train with the Yankees, nor can you go to Madison Square Garden and shoot hoops with the Knicks. Boxing is the only sport where you can actually train next to champions and top contenders. We are offering you the same opportunity with our annual Boxing Camp. The camp will include intensive boxing discussions, training sessions, sparring sessions and training drills. At the end of the camp you will have the chance to showcase your new skills in our Camp Sparring Show. The camp will give you the chance to learn from world-class trainers, Hall of Fame boxers and World Champions both past and present. Professional and amateur sparring partners will also be available to help with your training. Хора, women and children are all welcome. No previous boxing experience is necessary. Forty-four boxers from around the World registered for the tournament.

He told everyone I’d be world champ, and here I am, defending my title against Shawn Porter. I am just starting to see what Ben Getty saw in me and the mark that I can make in boxing.”
Thurman isn’t the only one celebrating a boxing anniversary – his trainer of 13 years and Florida Hall of Fame elected boxing trainer Dan Birmingham, who trained former champion Winky Wright, has been in the sport for 50 години, and assistant trainer Chris Getty has grown up with Thurman in the sport through his father Ben Getty. “I really like both guys, so I don’t know who is going to win. I’m not a gambling man, but if I had to pick, I put my money on Porter.”

“We’re fighting in Brooklyn and at Barclays Center and every time we’ve been there they’ve opened up their arms to us and been so welcoming. Shawn won his first world title here. So I thought, let’s go to Brooklyn and make it our home and become a part of what is going on here.
“Shawn is in excellent shape, so he doesn’t need to get in shape during camp. We didn’t have to consider that when we decided to come to Brooklyn.
“The people in Brooklyn have rolled out the red carpet for us. That’s why we’re here. We felt welcomed every time we came here to fight or to watch a show. I said let’s go home, let’s make Brooklyn home.”

We are celebrating 25 years of accomplishment with a fundraising show at B.B. King Blues Club and Grill on Wednesday May 25, 2016. The gala will be packed with fun, great food and boxing.
