WBO Belted Yomar Álamo in Puerto Rico

Aguas BuenasIn an emotional activity held at the Aguas Buenas Urban High School, die Weltboxorganisation (WBO-), together with its president, Francisco “Paco” Valcárcel, Esq., delivered the WBO North America (NACHBAR) Jr. Welterweight title to boxer YomarThe MagicÁlamo which he won last Friday in Florida, after defeating Mexican Manuel Méndez by unanimous decision in an event promoted by All Star Boxing.

When Yomar fought the previously, we were not pleased, Yomar’s people made the decision for him to train with Iván Calderón so that he learned some techniques that Iván had already used very well. Iván is the architect of this and I recognize his work as a coach who charge of polishing this diamond. As a fighter, Iván made 18 world title defenses in the 105 und 108 pounds of the WBO and will be a safe bet for the Hall of Fame”, Varcárcel said.

An excited Álamo said: “I am very happy with this tribute. This fight was for my people of Aguas Buenas and Puerto Rico, who so need moments of happiness. Everything can be done in life, just set some goals and fight for them, no matter how strong the winds are. If you are at the hands of Jesus Christ, our savior, nothing will be missing and I know that many young people will achieve it”.

Álamo’s trainer Iván Calderón said: “I want to thank Ángel Cotto, who was the one who physically prepared Yomar Álamo for the fight and without that work, you can’t do what you did. Thanks to Efraín Román and Armando for giving me the confidence to join the team. The discipline that Yomar had to represent Aguas Buenas with a lot of pride, knowing that his people are behind him, motivated him a lot”.

Das drogenfreie Kinderprogramm der WBO wirkt sich weiterhin auf Kinder in Puerto Rico aus

In festlicher familiärer Atmosphäre, die Weltboxorganisation (WBO-), durch sein erfolgreiches WBO Kids Drug Free Programm, gelieferte Fahrräder, Schulbedarf und Sportartikel für die Kinder von Cubuy in der Stadt Canóvanas, Puerto Rico.

Die Veranstaltung wurde vom WBO-Präsidenten geleitet Francisco 'Paco’ Valcárcel, Esq, Trainer Jesus ‘Chuito’ Ayala, und Schiedsrichter José h. Rivera.

“Jeden Tag arbeiten wir mit Kindern, um zu sein Weltmeister im Ring oder, wichtiger, im Leben. Wir arbeiten um zu sein diszipliniert fürs Leben. Wir danken der WBO für die Hilfe bei diesem Prozess mit ihren Aktivitäten für die Kinder, Wer ist die Zukunft“, sagte Trainer Ayala.

WBO-Präsident Valcárcel sagte allen präsentiere das “die arbeit die alle hier leisten ist gewaltig. Dank an Leute wie Chuito, die sehr hart und uneigennützig zum Wohle der Kinder, das sind unsere prioritäten. Hier geben wir ihnen ein paar Geschenke, die sie mitnehmen können nach Hause, weil sie sich gut benommen haben. Wenn sie ihre Älteren respektieren, Benimm dich, und respektiere ihre eltern, die Heiligen Drei Könige werden eintreffen“.

Die Teilnahme an der Veranstaltung war zwischenzeitlich Latino-WBO-Schwergewichts-Champion Víctor Bisbal, WBO Latino Jr. Weltergewicht Meister Jean Carlos „Lobo“ Torres, WBO/NABO Jr. Fliegengewichts-Champion Wilfredo „Bimbito“ Mendez, WBO Latino Jr. Bantamgewichts-Champion Yenifel Vicente, und WBO Latino-Champion im Federgewicht Luis „Popeye“ Lebrón. Andere Boxer, die waren Anwesend waren Alberto Mercado und David Reyes sowie der Amateurboxer Armani „The Vermächtnis” Alméstica.

Auch bei der Veranstaltung waren Manager Raúl Pastrana, Margaro Cruz und José Ortíz; trainiert Jesís „Tongui“ Ortiz, ich die "Yowy" González, und Oro Lebrón. Der Schiedsrichter Roberto Ramírez,Jr., körperlich Trainer und Ernährungsberater DJ, und der Vizepräsident des Spartan Boxing Club Mayra Pastrana nahm auch an der Veranstaltung teil. Für die WBO, Geschäftsführender Direktor der NABO / Interkontinental Diana Melendez, der Schatzmeister Adolfo Flores, Stellvertretender Vorsitzender des Meisterschaftskomitees Enrique Mendoza, Esq, und Bewertungen Ausschussvorsitzender Edgardo López Sasso waren anwesend.

WBO Kids Drug Free ist ein internationales Programm, das sich an Kinder und Jugendliche richtet, um eine drogenbezogene Botschaft zu transportieren Prävention und motivieren zum Weiterstudium, Sport als Werkzeug nutzen, um bleib auf dem richtigen weg, auch, dass Unterstützungsaktionen an Bedürftige gerichtet sind um eine bessere Lebensqualität zu gewährleisten.

WBO Kids Drug Free program visits the Sor Isolina Ferré Center in Ponce

PONCE, Puerto Rico – In an emotional and busy Christmas activity, die Weltboxorganisation (WBO-) and its president FranciscoPaco” Valcárcel, accompanied by former world champions, prospects, WBO World Jr. Flyweight Champion Ángel Acosta, regional champions, and other figures of the sport were delivering gifts to children at the Sor Isolina Ferré Center in Ponce, as part of the successful world ‘WBO Kids Drug Free’ program.

An emotional Sister Mildred Vázquez, Spiritual Director of the centers of Puerto Rico, sagte,: “The WBO and Paco Valcárcel have been committed to us for around 20 years.There are many gifts that will be distributed to the other centers that we have in Puerto Rico. Since day one, which was a long time ago, I remember that Paco told us that the WBO was never going to forget us. His deed is very important for all of us. We will never forget the great help you gave us then Hurricane María hit us hard; we are very grateful”.

Respect for the school, respect for the church, respect for their fathers and mothers, respect for the elderly and respect for their peers. Respect is the most important priority in life said our Savior”, Valcárcel expressed to the large number of children present. “Sister Sor Isolina always knew how to multiply the fish and bread. She was sent from God. They can count on us every year, the commitment will continue, and we love them very much”.

The world champion Ángel “Tito” Acosta said: “Many children left happy with their gifts and bicycles. I always tell the youth that they have to get away from the streets to concentrate on their studies”.

Participating in the activity were Acosta, former professional basketball player JavierToñitoColón, WBO Latino Featherweight Champion Luis”Popeye” Lebron, WBO Interim Latino Heavyweight Champion Víctor Bisbal, the former world champions Samuel Serrano, Alex “El NeneSánchez and ÁngelCholoEspada, along with boxers AlfredoEl Salsero” Kreuz, Jean M. Rivera, Edwin “ChinValentín, and amateur boxer Bryan Rodríguez.

Also in the event were boxing managers Margaro Cruz, coaches JesúsTongui” Ortiz, Ángel Vargas, YoelYowy” González, and Félix Pagán Pintor, referees José Hiram Rivera and Ramón Peña; professional boxing judge César Ramos. WBO Kids Drug Free is an international program aimed at children and young people in order to carry a message of prevention to the use of drugs and to motivate them to continue studying, using sports as a tool to stay on good steps, as well supporting causes aimed at those in need in order to contribute to a better quality of life.

WBO ON SAUNDERS-ANDRADE

 

 

World Boxing Organization (WBO-) President Francisco Valcárcel Mulero commented today on Billy Joe Saunders inability to defend his World Middleweight Championship, as per contractually agreed, against Demetrius Andrade on October 20th.

 

This after the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission voted today against granting him a boxing license following a failed doping test on August 30th.

 

It is unfortunate that a boxer as talented as Saunders is facing this controversy and will not be able to defend the title,” said Valcarcel today. “The WBO will examine the situation with due diligence and proceed according to its ‘Rules & Regulations’ decide which is the proper course of action”.

 

Valcárcel, a practizing attorney, added that if Andrade fights the first available contender, the WBO Championship Committee will consider sanctioning the bout.

WBO Statement on Billy Joe Saunders

 

WBO President Francisco ‘Paco’ Valcárcel, Esq reacted on Billy Joe Saunderspublic comments regarding his world title status:

 

“B.J. Saunders has voluntarily vacated the WBO Middleweight Title, and publicly apologized for his violation of the Massachusetts Athletic Commission’s anti-doping regulations”.

 

“Therefore, the clash between Demetrius Andrade and Walter Kautondonkwa scheduled for October 20th will now be for the vacant World Crown”.

 

"Ebenfalls, I will recommend to the WBO Executive Committee that Saunders receives a six month suspension for his transgression”.

WBO News: Wilfredo Gómez crowned ‘Honorific Champion’ of the World Boxing Organization

In a crowed activity held in Arecibo, die Weltboxorganisation (WBO-), with the collaboration of former world champion Samuel ‘El Torbellino’ Serrano, brought together several former Puerto Rican world champions along with currents boxers to recognize the trajectory of former three-division world champion Wilfredo ‘Bazooka’ Gómez.

 

 

 

Had the WBO existed in the Gómez era, he would have been our champion. But we still celebrate him because of his legacy in the ring and his great humility as a person. This belt that we preset to him today names him a WBO ‘Honorific Champion of Champions’, yet it is only a small sample of the affection and admiration that we have for him,” said WBO president Francisco ‘Paco’ Valcárcel.

 

 

 

An excited Gomez said thatI thank with the WBO and Paco for their support and recognition on this day. Herzlichen Dank. I am very happy with everyone who is here.

Gómez won the gold medal in the first amateur world championships, held in Havana in 1974. He then jumped to the professional ranks and won world titles at 122, 126 und 130 Pfund. He retired with a professional record of 44-3-1 mit 42 gewinnt durch KO, and is considered one of the best fighters of all time.
