Fort Myers, FL (November 30, 2017) – Welterweight Bryant “Goodfella” Perrella returns to the ring against Alex “Chi Town Heat” Martin Labohlano, December 8 at Hialeah Park in Miami, FL.
The Perrella-Martin showdown is scheduled for 10 rounds and airs on FS1 at 9 PM Et as part of Premier Boxing Champions’ “PBC ho FS1” letoto. The bout proceeds a light heavyweight matchup between former world champion Jean Pascal and unbeaten Ahmed Elbiali.

Living and fighting out of Chicago, IL, Martin is 13-2 as a pro and has 5 victories via knockout. A 2016, he scored a career best win by outpointing Juan Carlos Abreu (19-2-1) fetang robeli garela. Prior to entering the paid ranks, Martin was one of America’s top amateur boxers, winning the 2012 National Golden litlelafo, 3 Chicago Golden Gloves titles and captured a silver medal at the 2011 National Golden litlelafo. Sullivan, who began his run in CWF during the early 1970s, was also a key player in the 1980s as he and his followers joined “The Darkside.” Kevin went on to book CWF in the 1980’s before going on to perform in the NWA & WCW, where he is also known for booking WCW during The Mantaha Night Wars.

 

James J. Dillon rose to CWF prominence in 1975 as a wrestler, holding multiple championships in the state before returning as a Manager in the early 80’s and booking CWF for some time. He gained greater fame when he went to the NWA and become the Manager for the legendary “Four Horsemen”. JJ also played huge behind the scenes rolls in both WWE & WCW Talent Management. In addition to Sullivan & Dillon, other CWF Favorites at this event will be Rocky Johnson, Brian Blair, Tony Marino, & Sherri Lee.

 

At the end of the Fanfest portion of this event, we will again honor CWF Legends with a special award ceremony and induction into the CWF Hall Of Fame. Honorees include the man widely considered as the greatest wrestling announcer in the history of the business, Gordon Solie, as well as the top heel in the formation of CWF (and widely considered one of the top heels ever in pro wrestling), The Great Malenko. The friends and families of Mr. Solie and Mr. Malenko will be in attendance to honor these two heroes of CWF! This special CWF HOF award ceremony is open to all in attendance at the Fanfest!

Heavyweight Factory Team, Including Newest Signee Ivan Dychko, Provide Thousands of Meals to Miami Victims of Hurricane Irma

This past weekend in Miami, Heavyweight Factory Gym Founder, Kris Lawrence, and a group of their prominent fighters, which included recently signed two-time Olympic Super Heavyweight Bronze Medallist Ivan Dychko, opened their hearts to the victims of Hurricane Irma by holding a free barbecue.
Over two 10-hour shifts ka moqebelo le Sontaha, the group cooked and served over 2500 pieces of chicken, 1000 sausages, 800 racks of ribs, as well as baked beans and potato salad, to a hungry community still feeling the effects of the devastating hurricane.
Standing 6′ 9″ tall, Kazakhstan’s Dychko was an imposing sight at first, but quickly warmed the hearts of locals with his warm smile and tireless efforts to help. Despite the oppressive heat, he and former heavyweight champion Riddick Bowe, who also volunteered his time, posed for hundreds of pictures between servings.
“Ivan was amazing,” said Heavyweight Factory Director of Boxing, Henry Rivalta. “He hung in there while the sun was brutal. His desire to stay with us and make sure the neighborhood was fed was just awesome.”

Well-known for being very giving to the needy, Lawrence is active with several charities and, every Christmas, loads a 40-foot container with toys and distributes them to children on the streets of his native Liberty City.

“Giving back to the community gave our team a chance to join together and provide nice warm meals, which have been hard to find, due to the circumstances of Hurricane Irma,” continued Rivalta.
Dychko, a heavily decorated amateur, was also a two-time world amateur championships silver medallist. He and trainer Derek Santos are hard at work at the Heavyweight Factory for his highly anticipated professional debut on September 28 in Kentucky.

24-year-old southpaw light heavyweight Robert Daniels Jr. is the son of former cruiserweight world champion Robert “Preacherman” Daniels, the only Miami-born fighter to hold a major world title.
Daniels Jr. started boxing at 10 years old and went 64-6 as an amateur boxer. Among his many accolades, he won the Sunshine State Games twice, the State title twice, the Platinum Gloves, the Junior Olympic regionals.
A boxer/puncher with excellent counter-punching skills, Daniels is trained by former world champion John David Jackson.
Also scheduled for action are undefeated super welterweight John David “Pretty Boy” Martinez (6-0, 5 Kos) of Miami in a six-round battle; undefeated Miami welterweight Chris Velez (7-0-1, 4 Kos) a a tseletseng rounder; and undefeated bantamweight Lawrence Newton (6-0, 4 Kos) of Boynton Beach, Florida, will fight a six-rounder.

Briggs has made South Florida his home and training camp for much of his career. He will be making his fourth start at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and his ninth in the state.
Representing the boxing hotbed of Brooklyn, Briggs (60-6-1, 53 Kos) seeks the third heavyweight world title in his long and eventful career. Briggs became a world champion in 2006 when he scored a 12th round stoppage of Siarhei Liakhovich. Briggs has faced the best heavyweights in the world and won the lineal heavyweight world title from George Foreman in 1997. The boxing celebration will be headlined by a quintet of Florida fighters, JD “Pretty Boy” Martinez (1-0), Daniele “Raspy” Placeres (2-0, 1 KO), Chasity Martin (3-0, 1 KO), Anthony Martinez (bakeng sa qalo) and Robert Daniels Jr. (bakeng sa qalo) in separate four-round bouts.

27-year-old super welterweight JD “Pretty Boy” Martinez was born into boxing. Ntate oa hae o, Anthony Sr., was once rated #6 in the world and his uncle, Fernando “Mad Dog” Martinez was rated #4. Martinez was 14-2 as an amateur and won the 2009 Golden Gloves and Florida PAL Championships. He also owns seven locations that sells fireworks. Martinez trains at the world Famous 5go th Street Gym under Dino Spencer.
“My goal is to do it smart in boxing,” re Martinez. “My father and uncle fought undefeated lions in their first 10 lintoa. I think if they build me up correctly I can be a local attraction. I’m very excited to be fighting in front of so many friends and family.”

Placeres had a very short amateur career, tla 4-1, but learned to box in the gym, sparring world-class fighters such as current WBA Super World Super Bantamweight Champion Guillermo Rigondeaux, former world champion Yuriorkis Gamboa, and former world champion Richar Abril.
“I’m very excited and a little nervous to be fighting at home as professional,” said Placeres. “It’s got me very motivated and I’ll definitely be the best me I can be that night.”
30-year-old junior middleweight Anthony Martinez ile a 22-3 as an amateur boxer, winning the Florida Golden Gloves and State Championships. A natural to boxing, Martinez’s in-ring patience and technical skill combined with above-average power make him a strong candidate for success in the professional game.
“I feel excited and anxious about turning pro,” re Martinez. “I’m thrilled to be having my first pro fight. A lot of people said I had a pro style, so yeah, I want this more than anything.”
23-year-old southpaw super middleweight Robert Daniels Jr. is the son of former cruiserweight world champion Robert “Preacherman” Daniels, the only Miami-born fighter to hold a major world title. Daniels Jr. started boxing at 10 years old and went 64-6 as an amateur boxer. Among his many accolades, he won the Sunshine State Games twice, the State title twice, the Platinum Gloves, the Junior Olympic regionals. A boxer/puncher with excellent counter-punching skills, Daniels is trained by former world champion John David Jackson.

19-year-old super featherweight Chasity “The Queen of Pompano Beach” Martin had a stellar amateur boxing career, where she was ranked #1 in Florida and #3 in the country while winning the 2015 Sunshine State Games, the Junior Silver Gloves, the State Junior Olympics, and the Florida Golden Gloves. She is trained by former Mike Tyson trainer, Stacy McKinley, at Gold’s Gym in Deerfield Beach.
Promoter Leon Margules of Warriors Boxing says he hopes “Night of the Rising Stars” becomes a series of shows in South Florida.

Perrella giving back to Fort Myers with Goodfella’s Great Students

Fort Myers, FL (August 21, 2016) – Unbeaten welterweight knockout artist Bryant “Goodfella” Perrella and Team Perrella are proud to announce they’ll give back to Fort Myers through an initiative called “Goodfella’s Great Students.”
Created by Perrella, “Goodfella’s Great Students” provides an additional incentive for students to excel in the classroom. Each month, Perrella and head trainer Michael Nowling will dedicate time to standout students selected by school administration. The selected pupils will receive personal invites and get transported to and from Syndicate Boxing Club, where they’ll participate in a fun workout run by Perrella and Nowling. Hona joale, Coronado High School is signed up for the free program and multiple schools have expressed serious interest in joining.
"I’ve been in the Fort Myers area my entire life,” said Perrella, who has an outstanding record of 14-0 le 13 a hapa ka knockout. “I love it here and grew tremendously not just as a fighter but as a man. For everything Fort Myers has done for me, rewarding hard working students is the least I could do.
