Atlantic City, NJ (February 14, 2017)–Anthony “Juice” Young will take on Rogelio Casarez in a welterweight bout scheduled for 8-rounds that will headline a big night of boxing on Saturday, March 11th at The Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City.
This will be the 7th card promoted at the Claridge by Rising Promotions.
Young of Atlantic City has a record of 15-2 with six knockouts.
The 29 year-old Young turned professional in 2011, and won his first ten bouts, which was highlighted by a win over Jose Javier Calderon (4-1-1).
After suffering his 1st loss, Young has won five of his last six, including four straight.  In his last bout, Young won a six-round unanimous decision over James Robinson on January 20th in Atlantic City.
This will be Young’s 9th appearance in Atlantic City.
“I don’t know too much about my opponent, but I will be ready for him.  I do know that he has a good record and is moving up in weight,”said Young.  “It’s always good to fight at home in Atlantic City.  I get to sleep in my bed, and get to fight in front of my hometown fans.”
Casarez of Batesville, Arkansas has a record of 13-5 with 5 knockouts.
The 26 year-old is a five year-professional.  On July 9, 2016, Casarez traveled all the way to Chengdu, China, and won a 12-round unanimous decision and upset the previously undefeated Ronnakit Boontree (8-0) to capture the NABF Junior Lightweight title.
On October 29, he defended that title with 12-round unanimous decision over Blake Franklin in Batesville, Arkansas.
“I watched some tape of Young, and he is fast and moves well,” said Casarez.  “I know that I am stronger, and will bring pressure to him.  I feel confident after the win in China.  That fight gave me good experience and it taught me that I just need to be in 100% condition to win fights, and it really does not matter where I fight.”
In the 6-round co-feature, Gabriel Pham (7-1, 3 KO’s) of Atlantic City will take on Edgar Perez (7-19, 3 KO’s) of Chicago in a super middleweight bout.
Also in 6-round bouts:
Yurik Mamedov (4-0, 2 KO’s) of Brooklyn, NY will fight Rafael Montalvo (3-5, 3 KO’s) of St. Clair, PA in a welterweight bout.
John Magda (11-1, 7 KO’s) of Rutherford, NJ will take on Wesley Maldonado (8-2, 7 KO’s) of Arecibo, Puerto Rico in a light heavyweight bout.

Dan Pasciolla (8-2) of Brick, NJ will take on LeMarcus Tucker (4-1, 2 KO’s) of Forrest City, Arkansas in a heavyweight bout.

In 4-round bouts:

Brendon Barrett (4-0-2, 4 KO’s) of Little Egg Harbor, NJ will take on Brian Donahue (3-13-3) in a heavyweight bout.
LeRoy Davila (5-0, 3 KO’s) of New Brunswick, NJ will take on an opponent to be named in a bantamweight bout.
Adrian Wilson (0-3) of Atlantic City will take on Harry Tyrone Paige (0-3) of Little Rock Arkansas in a welterweight affair.

On the morning of Tuesday, May 10, promoter Dmitriy Salita will continue his mission to mix the revival of Detroit boxing with a strong social conscience.
From 9-12 am, Salita and several fighters from his upcoming “Detroit Brawl” event, will help the Forgotten Harvest organization pass out food to deserving families at New Bethel Baptist Church, located at 8430 C L Franklin Drive (aka Linwood St) in Detroit.
The group of local fighters joining Salita includes main event participant Demetrius Banks, co-main event fighter James Gordon Smith, as well as James Ballard and Darrell Van Horn.
Scheduled for Saturday, May 14, at the Masonic Temple in Downtown Detroit, “Detroit Brawl” will feature Banks (6-0, 4 KOs) in the six-round cruiserweight main event against Bronx-based cruiserweight Emilio Salas (5-1-1, 3 KOs), as well as Smith (9-0, 6 KOs) in the six-round co-main event against Mexico’s Pablo Cupul (8-19, 5 KOs). Ballard (6-0, 3 KOs) will face Chicago’s Edgar Perez (6-18, 3 KOs) in a six-round super middleweight scrap, while middleweight Van Horn (8-0, 5 KOs) will go against Torreon, Mexico’s Francisco Reza (13-17, 10 KOs) in a four-rounder.

FIGHTING OUT OF KRONK GYM, BANKS SEES SOUTHPAW OPPONENT SALAS AS NOTHING NEW

Given the number of world-class southpaws he’s been in with at the world-famous Kronk Gym in Detroit, undefeated Motown-based cruiserweight Demetrius Banks (6-0, 4 KOs) says he’s not at all concerned about facing Puerto Rican New Yorker Emilio Salas (5-1-1, 3 KOs).
The pair will meet on Saturday, May 14, at the Masonic Temple in Downtown Detroit, in the six-round main event of Salita Promotions’ “Detroit Brawl,” event. In the six-round co-main event Detroit’s undefeated bantamweight James Gordon Smith (9-0, 6 KOs) and Mexico’s Pablo Cupul (8-19, 5 KOs).

“Because my experience, fighting a southpaw is not much of an adjustment,” said Banks during a break in training. “Being at Kronk, I’ve boxed world-class southpaws like (former WBO Middleweight Champion) Andy Lee and (current WBC Light Heavyweight Champion) Adonis Stevenson to name a few. It’s not a big deal for me. I fought so many southpaws, in the beginning of my career, it was more difficult to box a right hander.”
Banks, a former football star and a committed mentor to Detroit’s youth, says that despite it being his first main event, he’s not feeling any extra pressure. “The way I look at it, it’s just another day. I don’t let the situation overwhelm me. I guess after the fight is over I’ll exhale and soak it all in. As of right now I’m ready to go to war. It doesn’t bother me what order we fight in.”
Of opponent Salas, Banks says he’s not expecting any surprises.
“I didn’t’ need to see much of him to know what I’m getting. I probably watched part of a round and he’s what I would expect. I saw things in him I can exploit. I also know he’s on a five-fight win streak. He’s 6′ 3″ tall, out of the Bronx and he’s a southpaw. I guess he’s coming to win, but I can’t let this guy take food off my plate.”
Banks says he’s aware that at age 35, there is no time to waste and he is working hard at Kronk with head coach Javan Hill and assistant trainer Richard Phillips, knowing that this fight is critical if he is to ever rise to contender status.
“This fight presents a big opportunity for me, especially with Dmitriy doing so many big things in boxing. If I win this fight, it gives me the opportunity to sign with him. I feel like I need to hurry. Because of my age, I have a smaller window of opportunity and I understand it. This is an opportunity for me to step it up and get things going.”
So how does he see things going against Salas?
“I definitely see a fight in my mind before it happens. I always visualize them beforehand. I see the things I don’t want to happen, the things that can’t happen and things I want to do. He’s going to come out and try to show he’s tough and come to fight and win. He’s not me though. He’s not fleet-footed or as slick as me. I’ll trick him and touch him to his body. That will give me a lot of target. I will break him down from the body up.

IMMOKALEE, FL. (February 1, 2016) – Rising star Erickson “The Hammer” Lubin(14-0, 10 KOs) defeated Mexican brawler Jose De Jesus Macias (18-5-2, 9 KOs) in his first main event Sunday night on Premier Boxing Champions: The Next Roundon Bounce TV from a sold out Seminole Casino Hotel Immokalee in Immokalee, Florida.
Lubin, of Orlando, showed superior skills by using his quick hands and combination punching to offset Macias’ come-forward style. In round five, Lubin scored a knockdown when he landed a cuffing right hook that forced Macias to touch the canvas with his glove.
The fast rising 20-year-old landed the harder blows and was looking to stop his opponent inside the distance. Macias continued to fight aggressively throughout the contest and he was able to survive and push Lubin to 10-rounds for the first time in his career.
Lubin remained perfect as a professional by scores of 99-90 and 100-89 twice.
In a battle of southpaw welterweights, Florida’s Joseph Elegele (15-3, 11 KOs) stoppedAlex De Jesus (21-1, 13 KOs) in the sixth round of their scheduled eight-round affair.
Elegele brought the pressure early, hurting De Jesus with an overhand left in round two before he put his opponent on the canvas in round three with a brilliant combination on the ropes. The knockdown came at the end of the round and clearly dazed De Jesus, who walked to the wrong corner after the bell.
A hard left hand punctuated another combination that closed the show for Elegele in round six. The fight was called off by referee James Warring 56 seconds into the round. De Jesus was taken to North Collier Hospital after the fight as a precaution.
In the opening bout, featherweight prospect Dennis Galarza (12-1, 8 KOs) cruised to a unanimous decision over Ghana’s Samual Amaoko (21-6, 15 KOs) in their eight-round bout.
Galarza outclassed Amaoko in every facet, winning each round on his way to his seventh straight win. The more active and accurate fighter, Galarza was rewarded with scores of 80-72 on all three judges’ scorecards.

ERICKSON LUBIN
“He was a very awkward fighter with a herky -jerky style. He took a lot of blows and a lot of good blows. In the end I was able to come out with the victory.
“He was tougher than I thought. It was a little different than most of my fights but it’s good experience. I’m happy to get 10 rounds in.
“I just want to keep moving on from here and moving forward. I want to move up the ladder.”
JOSE DE JESUS MACIAS
“He was a strong fighter and he moved very well. I was able to handle everything he had and I thought I was in the fight.
“He has a lot of power. He’s not the best guy I’ve faced but he did enough to get the win tonight.”
JOSEPH ELEGELE
“I felt good out there. I did my thing. I told everybody that I was going to stop this guy and that’s what I did.
“I doubled my left hand and I knew I hurt him. He couldn’t take any more shots so I finished him.
“I want to fight someone in the top 15. I want to compete with the best. It’s my time.”
DENNIS GALARZA
“My opponent was very tough. We fought eight hard rounds with a veteran.
“I wanted to get him out of there but we stayed patient and stuck to the game plan. I’m getting better every time out there.
“It’s my second time going eight rounds and soon I’ll be ready for ten rounds anyone that wants to get in there with me.
SAMUEL AMAOKO
“I went out and gave it my all. I thought it was closer and that I was landing some shots with more power.
“He is a very good fighter but I fought well and tried to get the win.”

Dyah Davis returns to the ring this Sunday as he takes on Edgar Perez at the Seminole Casino Immokalee

 Dyah Davis, “My Father’s spirit lives in me”
IMMOKALEE, FL. (January 28, 2016) – It has been about a month since Howard Davis Jr. passed away.
The former Olympic star and professional was one of the most well liked people in the boxing community.  During the process of Davis falling ill, his son Dyah was by his side and he now vows to carry on the boxing legacy set forth by his father.
Davis of Coconut Creek, Florida will be back in the ring for the first time in a 17 months, will take on Edgar Perez on Sunday at the Seminole Casino Hotel Immokalee.
Davis has been trying to get back in the ring sooner, but could not find anyone to step up and fight him.
“I was trying to get fights and I always am decent shape,”said the 34 year-old Davis.
“I guess that I am too much trouble for contenders and too dangerous for prospects.  I guess that means I am high risk and no reward.”
When his father passed away on December 30, 2015, Davis began to get even more motivated about his career.
“I found my motivation with the passing of my father.  His legacy will continue on through me.  His spirit is in me.  My father was my best friend.  He always knew that I have the ability and now it is time to show the world that.”
With a possible fight on the horizon and his father living out his last days, Davis made the most of his time with Howard.
“My main objective in his last few weeks was to spend as much time as possible.  We didn’t talk too much boxing.  We watched some of his old tapes as we just saw the impact he made on so many people.  It made me feel great to see the people who reached out following his passing.  Lots of people reached out in so many ways.”
Dyah feels he has a new start in boxing as he has inked a deal with Marshall Kauffman’s King’s Promotions.
“I am fortunate that Marshall is giving me a shot.  He has put on a lot of shows in the past couple years and I am looking for bigger fights.  As seen by my record, I will fight anybody.  It just seems everybody wants an easy route these days.  My route is that I want to fight only big fights.  I feel like I can get there by fighting the best.  This is just a fight to get back in the mix of things.  I really don’t know anything about him.  I will get in there and take care of him.”
“The fans should look forward to see a new and improved Dyah Davis.  My father’s spirit lives within and i will carry on his legacy.”

The 23-year-old has fought professionally since 2013 and racked up five wins in 2015. Most recently he stopped Juan Ramon Solis in their November 2015 fight. He will take on the 20-year-old Molnar out of Bekescsaba, Hungary who will be making his U.S. debut.
A Washington D.C. product, Grayton was a National Golden Gloves Champion who beat Errol Spence Jr. as an amateur on his way to picking up that title. The 28-year-old entered the professional ranks in 2012 and is unbeaten since. He defeated Martin Wright in October 2015 and will now take on the Brazilian Souza Santos.
The 28-year-old Calderon picked up three victories in 2015 including his most recent triumph, a first round stoppage of Clifford McPherson in November. The Miami-native will square off against East Molina, Illinois’ Venegas.
