“Man jau bija izveidots MMA cīnītājs, kad man bija mans pirmais boksa cīņu. Es izgāju ārā, lai Pittsburgh apgūt otro boksa cīņas, bet vairāki pretinieki krita cauri un izrāde beidzot tika atcelts, jo sniega vētra. Pēc tam cīņa neizdevās man tika piedāvāts cits MMA cīņu, Pirmo reizi HWT, ar pretinieku, kas atteicās cīnīties ar mani kā pēdējo minūšu nomaiņu pret viņu uz cīņu viņš bija paredzēta. Mēnešus vēlāk viņš aicināja mani tagad vēlas, lai cīnītos. Es uzskatīju, ka drīzāk personīgi, tāpēc es devos atpakaļ uz MMA, lai cīnītos ar viņu, un uzvarēja. Pēc tam es sāku saņemt daudz piedāvājumu, lai cīnītos pie HWT MMA un kopš kļuva 6 laiks HWT Champion pa četrām dažādām akcijas, vēl joprojām vēlējās kaste vēlreiz.”

Es tagad var cīnīties par citiem rāda, vai mana un uzturēt sevi aktīvs. Es sāku H.I.T.M. Veicināšanas nav būt veicinātājs, bet būt cīnītājs. Mana uzmanība ir pilnīgi par šo sestdien, bet aizmugurē, manuprāt es jau domāju par veicinot citu šovu. Šis ir būtībā visvairāk galvenā cīņa manā karjerā. Ne tikai man pārejot atpakaļ uz boksa, bet tas ir mans pirmais cīņa atpakaļ no traumas uz manu roku, kas būtu beidzās savu karjeru. Virsū, ka, Tas ir pirmais parādīt mans uzņēmums jebkad veicināta. Es jutu, ka saimniecībā šo cīņu Beach Haven bija lielisks veids, kā darīt kaut ko atšķirīgu un īpašu, lai vietējo sabiedrību un dot atpakaļ uz vietu, kas man ir gotten tik daudz no.”

Cotto Receives Honorary Title of “Athlete of the Year”
NEW YORK (Maijs 26, 2015) – The National Puerto Rican Day Parade (NPRDP) today announced that its 2015 Parade, plānota Svētdiena, Jūnijs 14 on New York’s Fifth Avenue, will officially kick off a week of festivities with the WBC and Ring Magazine Middleweight World Championship fight between Miguel Cotto and Daniel Geale on Sestdiena, Jūnijs 6, 2015 Barclays Center Brooklyn. It was also announced that Miguel Cotto, Roc Nation Sports and Miguel Cotto Promotions will be making a contribution to the National Puerto Rican Day Parade Scholarship Fund.

Turklāt, to honor Cotto’s impressive athletic accomplishments spanning over a decade which include him becoming Puerto Rico’s first and only Four Division World Champion, the NPRDP has bestowed upon him the honorary title of “Athlete of the Year.”

The NPRDP established the National Puerto Rican Day Parade Scholarship Awards Program to help promote the pursuit of higher education within the community. Uz 2015, the organization will double the total dollar figure and number of scholarships awarded from the previous year to 30 scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each. In celebration of the 2015 class of scholarship winners, Miguel Cotto, Roc Nation Sports and Miguel Cotto Promotions will be contributing $5,000 to the National Puerto Rican Day Parade Scholarship Fund in support of helping other high school and college students pay for their educations.
