Las Vegas (May 11, 2016) – A potentially explosive, highly entertaining “Knockout Night at the D” undercard has been announced for Saturday nox, May 21, airing (8 p.m. PT / 11 p.m. ATQUE) vivere CBS Sports Network from under the neon lights at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center (DLVEC) outdoor venue.
The “Knockout Night at the D” series, presented by D Las Vegasand DLVEC, promotus est per Roy Jones Jr. (RJJ) Boxing Promotions. The May 21st event is promoted in association with Main Events and Shamo Boxing Promotions.
Undefeated Russian middleweight Arif “Predator Omnibus in” Magomedov (17-0, 10 KOs) squares off against upset specialist Andrew “Procellae” Hernandez (11-4-1, 3 KOs), de Phoenix, X in pelagus eventus circum. Magomedov is world ranked among the top 15 160-pounders by the four major sanctioning bodies: WBC #2, WBO #3, WBA #5 and IBF #14.
Invictus super welterweight John “The Phenom” Vera (12-0, 8 KOs), of Fort Worth, Texas, defends his NABA-USA title belt against third-generation boxer Joey “Ille artifex pugnorum” Ruelas (10-1-1, 4 KOs), de Phoenix, in the 8-round co-feature.

Las Vegas’ 17-year-old boxing prodigy Devin “The Dream” Haney (5-0, 3 KOs) will become the youngest American boxer to box on national television as the 7-time national amateur champion takes on fellow undefeated lightweight prospect Jairo Fernandez (4-0, 3 KOs), in Mexico, in the 6-round television opener.
Former WBC Youth International titlist Tony Lopez (10-1, 3 KOs), Dallas, meets unbeaten Houston featherweight Jerren “Hardknocks” Cochran (11-0-1, 4 KOs) in an 8-round bout.

Haney (infra picta) is a 7-time national amateur champion, who captured a gold medal at the 2015 Puer Mundus Champion, but he was unable to try-out for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Boxing Team because of his age. When headgear was eliminated from Olympic boxing competition, the minimum age for a U.S. boxer to compete in the Olympics was changed to 19, so Haney decided to turn pro at the age of 17 rather than wait four more years. Primum, quamquam, he had a problem getting licensed in the U.S.
After having four successful fights in Tijuana, Mexico, Haney’s license was approved by the Nevada Athletic Commission and he won an impressive 4-round decision over Rafael Vazquez hanc quoque olim acceptam April 9th in Manny-Pacauiao-Timothy Bradley IIIshow at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Fighting May 21st on CBS Sports Network promises to be the start of something very special for Haney.
“It really means a lot to me fighting on national television for the first time,” Haney said between workouts. “I’m excited to have my friends from all over be able to watch me fight on TV. I’m going to make a statement that nigh that I’m the next big star. I’m going to show everyone my talents.”
Haney, utique, hasn’t graduated from high school yet. He’s been home schooled since the seventh grade, studying between his training responsibilities as a prizefighter: morning run, afternoon strength and conditioning, and full boxing workouts during the evening.
What can fans expect to see when they watch Haney in the ring? “Im boxer-puncher; strong and fast,” Haney added. “I’m a balanced fighter who can do everything. I’m only 17 and still have a long way to go. Quotidie, my head trainer, Mayweather, Sr., works with me to relax more, walk-down my opponent and take my time – it’s not the amateurs anymore – to breakdown my opponent.”
Another undefeated fighter, Virginia featherweight Jerren “Hardknocks” Cochran (11-0-1, 4 KOs), faces former WBC Youth International titlist Tony Lopez (10-1, 3 KOs), Dallas, in the 6-round television “swing bout.”

Magomedov (17-0, 10 KOs), who is promoted by Main Events, is rated among the top 15 middleweights by the four major sanctioning bodies: WBC #2, WBO #3, WBA #5 and IBF #14. The gifted Russian (pictured to right) captured his NABO title belt 10 menses abhinc, winning a 10-round unanimous decision against previously undefeated Derrick Webster (19-0). Last December in his most recent action, Magomedov (pictured to right) obturaverunt Jonathan Tavira in the seventh round.

Magomedov’s expansive display-case presently holds the NABO. WBO Youth, WBO Asia Pacific, WBA Inter-Continental, WBA Fedelatin, UBO Inter-Continental and Russian middleweight title belts.

The 30-year-old Hernandez (imaginatus left), also known as “The Pride of Phoenix,” has pulled off his fair share of upsets. In 2015, Hernandez stopped 17-1 Jeff Page, Jr., whose only other loss was to 2-time Russian Olympian and current world light heavyweight contenderArturius Beterbiev, in 10th round of their UBF Inter-continental super middleweight title fight. Hernandez also upset 12-0 Jerry Odum last year at Madison Square Garden Theater.
In his last fight this past March, Hernandez won in Tacoma when veteran Miranda dionisio (22-14-2) was unable to answer the bell for the 8th round.
