Former WBO Jr. Middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade returns to the ring on Saturday, October 17 when he takes on Dario Fabian Pucheta for the WBO International title at The Mohegan Sun

Providence, RI (September 15, 2015)–It was announced today at the Rhode Island State House that undefeated former WBO Jr. Middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade will return to the ring on Saturday night, October 17 when he takes on Dario Fabian Pucheta that will take place at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.

The bout will be contested for the WBO International Jr. Middleweight title.

Andrade (21-0, 14 KO's) will be returning for the first time in 16 months, and the October 17th bout will be the fight that will springboard Andrade back to a world title.

Andrade defended his title with a 7th round stoppage over Brian Rose on June 14, 2014 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Pucheta of Benos Aires, Argentina has a record of 20-2 nrog 11 knockouts. Tus 28 year-old has won three in a row which includes his last bout when he stopped Bethuel Ushona (32-2) on October 4, 2014 in Windhoek, Namibia.

The show is promoted by Jimmy Burchfield’s CES Boxing, with the Andrade – Pucheta bout being promoted by Banner Promotions and Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing.

It is the most comfortable place in the world to be, and I look forward to regaining my title and defending in front all my loyal fans. Williams stops Bowles in six in Danbury Fight Night main event

Danbury, I (Tej zaum 30, 2015)--Prospect Tramaine Williams capped off a great night of boxing with a 6th round stoppage over Josh Bowles in the final scheduled round of their Featherweight bout at the Danbury Arena.

The show was the Inaugural Danbury Fight Night promoted by Prize Promotions.

The main event saw Williams show his quick hand speed to outpoint Bowles for most of the fight. In the final round, Williams landed a booming straight left that sent Bowles down hard on his back. Bowles did well to get to his feet only to take a barrage of punches and the fight was stopped at 1:36 of round six.

Josh Crespo scored a thrilling first round stoppage over Edgar Cortes in a scheduled 6-round Featherweight bout.

Crespo decked Cortes with a hard right hand in the opening seconds of the bout. Cortes got to his feet but ate a barrage of jarring punches before the bout was stopped at 2:20 of round one.

Wellington Romero had to work hard in winning a 6-round split decision overEvencii Dixon in a Welterweight bout.

All three judges were in agreement of the 57-57 scores. Neves, 154.5 lbs of New York, NY is now 8-2-2. Sanchez, 154 lbs of Camden, NJ is now 5-6-2.

In thrilling 4-round war, Andrew Bentley scored a majority decision over previously undefeated Oscar Bonilla in a Lightweight bout.

The two slugged it out to the delight of enthusiastic crowd. Bentley was able to tag a hard charging Bonilla as he came in. There were several toe to toe exchanges were both guys ate heavy leather.

This action packed card is loaded with some of Connecticut’s fastest rising stars, and will be headlined by the much anticipated return of former amateur sensation, and undefeated professional Tramaine “Mighty Midget” Hmong/Williams.

Hmong/Williams (8-0 2KOs) out of New Haven, I, turned pro at the age of 19 after a stellar amateur career, winning his first 8 pro fights in under a year and a half. Legal issues in 2013, halted Williams’ fast track to stardom. After over a year and a half layoff, Williams is set to make his return and reclaim the momentum and buzz that he created as a teenager. Promoter A.J. Galante was happy to give Williams a second chance.

Galante made clear that he has not signed Williams, Green, or any boxer for that matter to promotional contracts, but he noted there are requirements to fighting under Prize Promotions, “My vision is to give guys opportunities that could springboard them to bigger and better things. I’m looking to actually promote the sport the old fashioned way, and put together exciting 50-50 matchups. I think anyone who fights on my card should be recognized as a throwback fighter, and someone that wants to really become great. My matchmakers Russell Peltz, Brittany Rogers and I have not put any soft matches together. Fans can look at this lineup, and realize it’s nearly impossible for there to be an upset, because all these bouts, top to bottom, are equally matched. Thompson is in Virginia, training under Kay Koroma and he is looking to win the prestigious tournament against Thompson in the 10-round bout at the Omega Products International Outdoor Arena in Corona, California.
Thompson (16-1, 5 KO's) is coming off a 8-round split decision over previously undefeated Stanyslav Skorokhod on April 10 in Bethlehem, PAJ.

“I am happy to be in the finals. This is an opportunity that will be the uprising of my career,” continued Thompson.
“Brandon is a brawler. He will have a few weeks to come up with a strategy to beat me.”
Said Thompson’s promoter, Vito Mielnicki of GH3 Promotions, “I believe we are longer, been in tougher and the better boxer. Brandon is a good fighter but I think he is too green. I know he had a brief amateur career and he could be too green for John.”

Prize Promotions Tabs Russell Peltz and Brittany “Bam” Rogers for Matchmaking Duties

Danbury, I (Tim 16, 2015)- At the beginning of April, newly licensed Connecticut boxing promoter A.J. Galante introduced his company, Prize Promotions. Galante spoke of his goal of bringing “Old School” boxing to Connecticut.

To prove he is serious about his vision, Galante has turned his matchmaking over to Hall of Fame Philadelphia promoter, Russell Peltz along with one of the sports youngest and most promising promoters and matchmakers, Brittany “BAM”

Rogers.

“Russell is the definition of Old School matchmaking, he’s one of the last out there, so it was a no brainer for me to reach out to him, and I am honored that he is willing to work with me.” Galante stated, “His resume speaks for itself, I am extremely confident that working together, we will put on spectacular shows” Galante was also extremely excited to work with Brittany “BAM” Rogers, who works in conjunction with Russell Peltz,

“I’m often referred to as one of the youngest boxing people on the business side of things, but BAM is actually younger than me, and has been in the sport longer than me. I have a lot of respect for her and have been learning a lot through working with her.”

Ultimately Galante said what cemented his choice on his matchmakers, was a trip to Philladelphia in October, to attend a show promoted by both Peltz and Rogers, “When you think Philly boxing, you think gritty and exciting, and you can’t think Philadelphia boxing without Russell Peltz and Brittany Rogers, and I am looking forward to bringing those types of shows and that environment here to Connecticut.” It won’t be long for Galante to fulfill his promise, as his first show Danbury Fight Night, will take place onMay 30th at the Danbury Arena, in his hometown of Danbury, I.

Newly Licensed Connecticut Boxing Promoter A.J. Galante Announces Prize Promotions – First Show May 30

Danbury, I (Tim 2, 2015)- Nyob rau hauv 2011, at the age of 24, A.J. Galante became one of the youngest Professional Boxing managers in the sport. Now at the age of 28, he has become one of the youngest Promoters as well. The Connecticut based Promoter has officially introduced his company, Prize Promotions, this week.

“I’m excited for this challenge.” Galante stated, “This wasn’t something I decided to do overnight, I have actually been planning this for a few years now. I plan on slowly developing something special here in Connecticut, and giving the fighters here opportunities that aren’t consistently available to them.”

Galante explained his vision and goals for Prize Promotions centers around competitive matchups and featuring old school fighters, “I am not looking to sign fighters to Prize Promotions at this time. What I am looking to do is put on exciting fights and provide opportunities. I am looking to feature old school boxers, guys who aren’t afraid of risking undefeated records or being in a tough fight. I want guys who don’t have shiny records, I want the guys who most promoters don’t see having great value. I have no stock in anyone who fights under my promotion, so there won’t be many true A and B side fights. Connecticut isn’t a boxing hotbed, and there is talent here, but the only way for these guys to earn respect is to take it, therefore to fight on a Prize Promotions card means to fight real opposition and develop the old fashioned way. There aren’t many pro shows here in Connecticut, but I am hoping to change that, and want to help give these guys a platform to showcase who they are.”

Philadelphia (Lub peb hlis ntuj 31, 2015)–It is less than two weeks away from the semifinals of the Boxcino 2015 heavyweight and jr. middleweight tournaments that will take place on Friday night, Tim 10 and will be held at the Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, PAJ.

 

The show will be televised live on ESPN’s Friday Night Fights with the Boxcino semifinal fights beginning at 9 PM ET.

 

All semifinal bouts are scheduled for eight rounds.

 

In the heavyweight division, Andrey Fedosov (26-3, 21 KO's) yuav siv tau Lenroy Thomas (19-3, 8 KO's). Fedosov is coming off a first round pounding of Nate Heaven while Thomas won a 7-round drawbreaker over former U.S. Olympian Jason Estrada.

Skorokhod was very impressive in taking out Michael Moore in four rounds. Thompson took a six round unanimous decision over Ricardo Pinnel.

 

Brandon Adams (16-1, 11KO's) battles Vito Gasparyan (15-3-5, 8 KO's).

 

Adams stopped Alex Perez in five rounds while Gasparyan won a six-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Simeon Hardy.
