STEP, TX. (Apríl 25, 2018) – Fighters competing on Saturday’s Premier Boxing Champions on FOX and FOX Deportes card, headlined Josesito Lopez potýkali Miguel Cruz v welterweight akcii, participated in a media workout Wednesday in El Paso before they step into the ring at Don Haskins Center.

“To get the win I need to use my jab and work the body. There are more aspects of it, but those two things are essential for me winning this fight.

STEP, TX. (Apríl 19, 2018) – Exciting 154-pound contender Erickson Lubin will return to the ring to take on Mexico’s Oscar Cortes in a 10-round showdown that highlights undercard action on Saturday, Apríl 28 the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas.

The 22-year-old Lubin (18-1, 13 KO) will compete in action on April 28 in his first fight back since dropping his first world title challenge to Jermell Charlo last October. The former amateur star defeated Ivan Montero in a PBC on FOX and FOX Deportes fight in 2016 as he climbed up the super welterweight ranks. The Orlando-native will face the 24-year-old Cortes (26-3, 14 KO), who has won three of his last four fights and lives and trains in Mexico.

In attendance Wednesday was former title challenger Josesito Lopez and unbeaten welterweight Miguel Cruz, who meet in a 10-round bout, plus El Paso’s Abrahámovi, who battles former champion Anthony Dirrell in a super middleweight contest, and unbeaten featherweight Jorge Lara, who faces exciting brawler Claudio Marreroin a featherweight matchup.

Dirrell (31-1-1, 24 KO), bývalý majster sveta v super strednej váhe z Flintu, Michigan, v novembri na FS1 zvíťazil nad Denisom Douglinom. 33-ročný Dirrell získal titul jednomyseľným rozhodnutím nad Sakiom Bika v r. 2015 pred vypustením väčšinového rozhodnutia 2016 Badou Jackovi. Od tej straty, Dirrell vyhral štyri po sebe, vrátane víťazstva TKO nad aktuálnym majstrom sveta do 168 libier Calebom Truaxom v 2016.

LAS VEGAS (Apríl 29, 2017) – Newly crowned WBA Interim Featherweight Champion Claudio Marrero (22-1, 16 KO) shocked previously unbeaten Carlos Zambrano (26-1, 12 KO) with a first round knockout in the main event of Champions Premier Boxerské o FS1 a FOX Deportes, Sobota night from Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas.
“There’s so many emotions going through my head right now, that I still can’t wrap how it feels to be a champion now,” povedal Marrero. “I won’t let it distract me, because I’ll fight whoever is the best in my weight class. I knew what kind of fighter I was going up against and I knew what had to be done. I was hungry”
The fight ended abruptly as Marrero of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic threw a rock solid straight left hand that sent Lima, Peru’s Zambrano to the canvas, rendering him unable to stand and referee Vic Drakulich waved off the bout at 1:30 of the one and only round. Marrero extended a seven-fight win streak.
“After being inactive for a year, of course my timing was a little off I am not happy at all with my performance,” said Zambrano. “This is a fight that was long awaited and I know Marrero has been eyeing me for a while, so it’s just unfortunate the way things ended.
“I need to come back to the states and find sparring partners who can really help get me to the level that I want to be,” continued Zambrano. “For my record to be beaten at this point, its just really disappointing I have no other words to describe it.”
The co-main event of the FS1 and FOX Deportes telecast ended in a sixth round TKO by hungry middleweight Nathaniel Gallimore (18-1-1, 15 KO) of Kingston, Jamaica over Jeison Rosario (12-1, 9 KO) Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.Both fighters came out swinging in the first round with Rosario taking it on all three judge’s scorecards. Ruženec, who had never gone past the fourth round started to slow down in the fifth as Gallimore took over.
“I came into the fight confident then at some point something just happened, my body started to slow down,” said Rosario. “I got a little tired and I started to fight a little sloppy. My plan is to go back and begin working on my jab consistently, that was my weakness during throughout the fight.”
Gallimore came out of the corner in the sixth round determined to end the fight and succeeded. He dropped Rosario, but the Dominican rose to his feet, only to be dropped by a hard upper cut. Nakoniec, it was a left hook that sent Rosario to the canvas for a third and final time as referee Jay Nady waved off the fight at 2:15 of the sixth round.
“He was fighting really dirty the whole fight, I think he knew he was hurt early on,” said Gallimore. “I knew I had a lot more experience so I just started breaking him down round by round and that’s what got me the win. This was the first time he went so many rounds, so I think it really just got to him to the point where he was just trying to hold on the last few rounds. I came to finish him and that’s what I did.”
In the main event of the FS2 and FOX Deportes telecast, super lightweight prospect Ladarius Miller (13-1, 4 KO) put on an impressive performance before stopping Jesus Gutierrez (14-2-1, 4 KO) in the eighth and final round of their matchup.
“I am extremely happy with my performance,” said Miller. “This is the best Ladarius Miller I have shown. I was familiar with him as a fighter so I knew what I had to do in the ring. I thought I had him in the first round with the uppercut, but he was in a lot better shape than I thought. He took the punches but in the end I knew I would end up on top with the win. I’m just ready to get back in the ring and look ahead at my next challenge.”
Miller out boxed Gutierrez with a combination of movement and lead left hands to take control of the first portion of the fight. Gutierrez attempted to close the distance between him and Miller, but was unable to muster up enough offense to slow down his opponent.
“Bol to veľký boj, I think we gave the fans what they wanted to see,” said Gutierrez. “I have nothing but respect for Ladarius, he came out dnes večer and showed what he was made of. I kept the pressure on and I thought that would be enough to get him.”
Several back and forth flurries defined the final two rounds of the fight before Miller was eventually able to use a big right hand to floor Gutierrez and force referee Russell Mora to halt the fight at 2:34 into the eighth round.
The opening bout on FS2 and FOX Deportes saw former world champion Layla McCarter(39-13-5, 10 KO) dominate and eventually stop Szilvia Szabados (15-10, 6 KO) in the seventh-round of their welterweight bout.
“I saw early in the fight an opportunity, to go for the body and that’s what I did,” said McCarter. “She took a lot of damage and was a tough opponent. I felt I could have brought it a lot harder, I had such a great training camp I wish I just would have delivered the Layla i know I can bring.”
Szabados came out aggressive from the start, but the veteran contender McCarter picked her off with power punches throughout the early rounds before Szabados began to wear down and become frustrated.
“She was a great opponent for me, there are definitely a lot more things that I need to go back home and work on,” said Szabados. “Celkovo, she came to win and she showed it. I brought a lot of toughness, but in the end she came out on top.”
Referee Tony Weeks deducted a point from Szabados for blows to the back of the head early in round seven before a final flurry from McCarter forced the referee to stop the fight 56 sekúnd do kola.

One of the most accomplished female fighters in the sport, McCarter has fought at the highest level since turning pro in 1998. The 26-year-old Szabados turned pro in 2014 and won her first five fights. Fighting out of Hungary, she challenged Nikki Adler for a 168-pound world title in 2015. Szabados has a pair of stoppage wins in 2017 sandwiched around a challenge of two-time Olympic gold medalist Claressa Shields in March.
Pre nakoľko 2014, Miller won his first nine pro fights as he used his speed and skills to out box opponents. Originally from Memphis but now living and training in Las Vegas, Miller has won three fights in a row including a stoppage victory over Carlos Castillo, a decision over previously unbeaten Maynard Allison and most recently a second-round TKO of Ronald Rivas last October in Las Vegas.

LAS VEGAS (Apríl 20, 2017) – Cruiserweight world champion Shumenov Beibu (17-2, 11 KO) suffered an eye injury in training v stredu and will not be able to defend his title against yunier Dorticos (21-0, 20 KO) in the main event of a special Saturday night edition of Champions Premier Boxerské o FS1 a FOX Deportes, Apríl 29 from Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas.
Shumenov-Dorticos has been postponed until Shumenov has completely healed from his injury. It will be rescheduled as soon as Shumenov is healthy enough to return to training. There is no timetable yet on when he is expected to return from the injury.
WBA Interim Featherweight Champion Carlos Zambrano (26-0, KO) defending his title against once-beaten contender Claudio Marrero (21-1, 15 KO) has been elevated to the main event.

Schedule Includes Five Shows In April
Showcasing Champions, Contenders &
Top Prospects in Competitive Matches
LAS VEGAS (Apríl 5, 2017) – The Premier Boxing Champions series rolled into April with a hotly contested match between Edner Cherry and Omar Douglas on FS1 “TOE k päte UTOROK” last night and will continue with an outstanding slate of shows, featuring matches in some of the deepest divisions in boxing.
“Premier Boxing Champions will present a busy schedule in April, involving prospects, rising stars and established champions,” said Tim Smith, Vice President of Communications for Premier Boxing Champions. “It’s the kind of schedule that contains matches for every type of boxing fan.”
The impressive run started with Cherry besting Douglas in a close and competitive super featherweight clash from Sands Bethlehem Events Center in Bethlehem, Pa., na “TOE k päte UTOROK “on FS1 and FOX Deportes last night.
Next up, former title challenger Josesito Lopez zídu Mexika Saul Corral in the main event on FS1 and FOX Deportes from the Novo at L.A. Live in Los Angeles at 9:30 p.m. A/6:30 p.m. PT na Nedeľa, Apríl 9. Unbeaten lightweight contender Alejandro Luna will battle former title contender Andrey Klimov in a 10-round bout in the co-feature. Tiež, 2016 U.S.. Olympian Karlos Balderas will make his pro debut in a six round super featherweight match.
A welterweight world title eliminator between former champions Andre Berto a Shawn Porter will highlight an action-packed PBC card on SHOWTIME from Barclays Center in Brooklyn at 9 p.m. A/6 p.m. PT na Sobota, Apríl 22. Undefeated 154-pound champion Jermell Charlo will defend his title against top contender Charles Hatley v čo-funkcie. Also in action is heavyweight title contender Luis “Real King Kong” Ortiz taking on rugged veteran Derric Rossy.
Exciting contenders Oscar Molina a Levan Ghvamichava will square-off in the main event, while rising star Brandon Figueroa also enters the ring, in an action-packed “TOE k päte UTOROK” show on FS1 and FOX Deportes at 9 p.m. A/6 p.m. PT na Apríl 25.
Shumenov Beibu defends his cruiserweight title against yunier Dorticos zatiaľ čo Carlos Zambrano budú bojovať Claudio Marrero in a featherweight showdown on FS1 and FOX Deportes at 10 p.m. A/7 p.m. PT from Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas on Sobota, Apríl 29.

World-Class Dominican Boxers Payano, Marrero and Vicente Sign Long-Term Agreements with King Kong Boxing Management

Well-known Florida-based manager/trainer Herman Caicedo proudly announces the signing of three of his world-class Dominican fighters, former WBA Super World Bantamweight Champion and WBA #2, WBC #11 contender Juan Carlos Payano, WBA #3 featherweight Claudio “The Matrix” Marrero, and well-respected featherweight contender Yenifel “The Lightning” Vicente, to multi-year managerial agreements with Jay Jimenez of King Kong Boxing Management.
The deal frees Caicedo, who formerly held both duties with the three fighters since their amateur days, to focus solely on training, while Jimenez takes the reins over furthering their careers in the professional boxing business.
32-year-old southpaw Payano (18-1, 9 KO) won the WBA strap in September 2014 by stopping long-time world champion Anselmo Moreno. He then defeated and lost a rematch to Ohio’s Rau’shee Warren. He was last seen scoring a TKO 7 over Isao Gonzalo Carranza in January of this year.
“King Kong Boxing exploded on the scene with (former interim WBA Heavyweight Champion) Luis Ortiz and has fast-tracked the careers of several Cuban fighters,” said Payano. “I am very happy to be working with Jay Jimenez. And my trainer Herman has always been very honest with us and protected us from the sharks in boxing. Through his philosophy of hard work and dedication, I became a world champion. I am happy he will now be able to concentrate on training, which he is the best in the world at.”
Marrero (21-1, 15 KO) will face Peru’s Carlos Zambrano for his interim WBA World Championship, as well as the IBO World Championship, na Február 24 in Palm Springs, Kalifornia.
“Joining the King Kong team is great, but as we see it, we have been part of this team for some time,” povedal Marrero. “Jay has always helped us with anything we needed. It’s just official now. King Kong Boxing Management is looking to bring more superstar elite fighters to boxing’s forefront, through aggressive marketing and strategic alliances with top promoters in the business.”
Vicente (30-3-2, 22 KO) is one of the world’s most exciting fighters. Currently riding a five-fight winning streak, the power-punching 30-year-old is a television favorite for his all-action fighting style.
“Herman has done a great job with my training and my career,” povedal Vicente. “He has worked very hard for me and all his fighters. Now he will get some expert help from King Kong Boxing Management. I am looking forward to a very bright future working with these two great men.”

Payano, Marrero and Yenifel Vicente are superstar, elite-level fighters,” said Jimenez. “Payano is a former champion, Marrero a soon to be champion and Vicente on a fast track to becoming a champion as well.
