Brock lands a right on Blanco

“I knew he was a gritty guy who came from Puerto Rico to fight me in Las Vegas,” explained Brock, who added the NABA USA title to his growing collection that already had included the WBC US lightweight strap. “I was having fun, enjoying myself. I had to pick up stuff working with Roy and some rubbed off on me. With Roy’s help, my confidence was built up and I learned techniques, especially with my hand-and-feet coordination. I found what I learned was more effective.”
Jones was calm in Brock’s corner throughout the fight. “I’m always calm in the corner to get the best out of the fighter,” Jones noted. “To do that I need to remain calm.”
Mexican upset specialist Norberto “Demonio” 岡薩雷斯 (22-3-8, 13 科斯) did his thing in the co-feature, taking an eight-round split decision (76-75, 76-75, 74-77) from Puerto Rican junior middleweight 丹尼爾 “El Duro” 玫瑰園 (11-2, 10 科斯).

Gonzalez overcame a second-round knockdown. “I didn’t come here to lose,” Gonzalez commented. “I knew we had to work hard to get a decision.”

The determined lightweight controlled the pace and consistently beat hometown favorite Gutierrez to the punch all night. 古鐵雷斯, a tough Mexican who lives in Las Vegas, showed the heart of a champion, albeit in a losing effort to a fresher Brock.

“I think I put on a great performance,” Brock commented after the fight. “I came out to give my best effort. We trained to fight inside to fight Chuy, not box, to make him uncomfortable in a fight he’s not used to. I won this fight on the inside. No backing up for 10 硬輪. We prepared that way because we knew Chuy was going to come in throwing shots. But he’d never fought anybody of my caliber. I was looking to finish him but I didn’t want to get careless.”
In a battle of unbeaten junior middleweight, Mexican invader 羅蘭 “Rola” Garza (9-0, 6 科斯) 和U.S. Marine Corps veteran Erasmo “The Reckoning” 加西亞 (5-1-1, 3 科斯) put on a show in the televised co-feature. The game Garcia came back in the fifth, despite suffering a lot of damage from a relentless attack by Garza, who simply outclassed his overmatched opponent with his technical boxing skills. Garza, who was deducted a point for throwing a low blow in the fifth round, won a unanimous 6-round decision in a firefight.

LAS VEGAS – “Knockout Night at the D,” the boxing fight card to feature headliners Zab Judah vs. Josh Torres at the 拉斯韋加斯市中心活動中心 (DLVEC), has been cancelled for 星期六, 三月 12.
Derek Stevens, CEO of 對D拉斯維加斯 and DLVEC, 說, “昨晚, I received multiple calls from the Nevada Athletic Commission regarding eligibility concerns. After our discussions, it became apparent the fight card could not move forward. Although I’m disappointed with the situation, I appreciate the phone calls and look forward to working with the Nevada Athletic Commission on future boxing events at the DLVEC.”
去年, DLVEC launched several successful boxing events, with Stevens leading the charge to bring outdoor boxing back to Las Vegas.

At the famous Wildcard Gym in Los Angeles, Claggett gained invaluable experience working with Hall of Fame trainer 羅奇.
