The 25-year-old Macias (14-0, 8 קאָס), fighting out of Palm Desert, קאַליפאָרניאַ, נעמט אויף “גאַטעקעעפּער” Soriano (26-34-1, 16 קאָס) in the opening televised bout. The extremely aggressive fighting Macias, who is the reigning World Boxing Council’s (וובק) United States junior middleweight champion, is currently ranked No. 13 by the United States Boxing Association (USBA).
בעקיצער, Macias is an energized-bunny boxer, always going forward, throwing an arsenal of punches from every conceivable angle. His fan-friendly style, in addition to his rooster persona, makes him an instant favorite wherever he fights. Kansas fans there to support Hernandez will probably take to Macias before the first bell.
“I never chose my nickname,” Macias explained. “I fought a lot in the amateurs between Los Angeles and Fresno, where there are a lot of Latino fans. They started calling me, Gallo, which is Spanish for Rooster. In my fourth fight, I did a little rooster dance and scratched. דעמאָלט, I was more dramatic, and eventually I started crowing. I crow and scratch before, during and after my fights, so I better live up to my nickname and keep winning.
“We don’t just focus on techniques on camp, I go through some insane, hardcore workouts. Everybody gets tired in the ring but I train very hard and always find my second wind during fights because I train so hard. I’ve been doing it this way for the past five years. I have a good coach, my father (על), who pushes me. I never reach a plateau in workouts. We even steal workouts from other gyms. אָבער, boxing is 80-percent mental and with the Adrenalin rush from fighting in front of large crowds, מענטאַלי, I have to be strong to physically do what I do in the ring.”
Macias is getting close to breaking into the world ratings. Two of his last three fights have been shown on CBS Sports Network, both live from Las Vegas, including his USNBC-winning fight against previously undefeated ראָלאַנדאָ Garza (9-0), the former member of the Mexican National Boxing Team. Macias took the fight to Garza fight from the opening bell, never letting up during this action-packed fight, until the referee stopped the fight in the fifth round.
“Everybody hits the wall and I did against Garza in the fourth round,” Macias said, “but I got my second wind and finished him off in the fifth. I’ve gotten better since that fight, צו. I’m not a פלויד (Mayweather Jr.)-like fighter, so I’ve been working on my defense, keeping my hands high, elbows close to my body. I’m smothering opponents now, not giving them leverage, and I haven’t been getting cut like I did in my earlier fights.
“I’m going to show fight smarts early, fighting in flurries and pressuring him inside to make him uncomfortable, and then wear him down for the middle and late rounds. The ‘Rooster’ is going to pressure him; tap, tap, tap to the body, until things settle down and then start digging punches to his head and body. I’m doing everything to come out of this fight 15-0.”
Soriano has won his last two fights. He is the former Fecarbox and WBC Mundo Hispano lightweight champ. As a “גאַטעקעעפּער,” he has tested the likes of world title challengers דזשין ווער און Ionut Dan Ion, as well as top contenders such as קעווין ביזיער און Logan McGuinness.

הערנאַנדעז, 21, was a highly-decorated amateur boxer (94-5) who is like a sports franchise in his hometown of Wichita.
A national Taekwondo champion as a youngster, Gutierrez played football in high school, at least until he realized that he had stopped growing, eliminating the possibility that he’d ever play college football. He had always liked combat sports and decided to try boxing.
“I fell in love with boxing right away,” Gutierrez admitted. “I live in the fight capital of the world, לאַס וועגאַס, און פלויד מייַוועאַטהער (דזשוניער.) was at his prime there when I first started boxing. I boxed in California (אָראַנדזש קאָונטי) and won a three-day tournament there as an amateur. A press conference was held today at Kansas Star to announce the show, as well as Hernandez signing a promotional contract with Knockout Night Boxing LLC, the promoter of the March 25טה געשעעניש, in association with Kansas Star Casino and sponsored by Miller Lite. Neon Media Sports & Entertainment is the parent company of Knockout Night Boxing.
“I reached the highest-level I could in my amateur career and it was time for me to turn pro,” Hernandez said. “I’ve always wanted to make my pro debut in my hometown, Wichita. My plan is to do it like טערענסע Crawford has done in Omaha. I’m hoping it works out as well for me. The company will be responsible for promoting and co-promoting “Knockout Night Boxing,” a series that airs on CBS Sports Network across North America. Additional broadcast partners will also be announced in the coming weeks.
“Knockout Night Boxing LLC is a fight-friendly promotion that provides a platform for athletes to showcase their skills while building their own brand,” said Knockout Night Boxing president/promoter John Andersen.
“Our ‘Knockout Night at the D’ series on CBS Sports Network last year was a huge hit, and so we are excited to expand across the United States and Mexico with our partner Pepe Gomez,” added Neon Star Sports & Entertainment CEO Mike Garrow. “איצט, the ‘Knockout Night Boxing’ series has 20 television dates scheduled for 2017. Aston Palicte (ר) won a 10-round split decision over “ליל”” Oscar Cantu
לאַס וועגאַס (דעצעמבער 17, 2016) – Tonight’s final round of the 2016 “Knockout Night at the D” series ended in typical style as “Mighty” Aston Palicte won a 10-round split decision over previously undefeated “Lil'” Oscar Cantu in a terrific super flyweight match from start to finish inside the ונטערשטאָט לאַס וועגאַס עווענץ צענטראַל indoor facility.
די “Knockout Night at the D” סעריע, presented by די ד לאַס וועגאַסand Down town Las Vegas Events Center, was promoted by Roy Jones Jr. (RJJ) Boxing Promotions. This evening’s seventh and final “Knockout at the D” event in 2016 aired live on קבס ספורט נעטוואָרק and streamed worldwide on FloBoxing.tv
The Palicte vs. Cantu main event, as expected, was a classic match-up of contrasting styles between a dangerous puncher (Palicte) and consummate boxer (Cantu). There was surprising non-stop action from the opening bell. Power punching Palicte (22-2, 18 קאָס) pressed the action as the clear aggressor, but Cantu stood in the pocket, צו, as the technician used his defensive skills to make things difficult for his world rated Filipino opponent.
לעסאָף, it all came down to the 10טה קייַלעכיק, which Palicte swept on all three judges’ scorecards for a hard-fought split decision victory by scores of 98-92, 96-94, 94-96. Galiimore (pictured above in green), who fights out of Chicago, dedicated the fight to his stablemate, די שפּעט Ed Brown (20-0), who was murdered earlier this month. “I saw a tape of him (Baez) and knew he backed up to the ropes,” Gallimore explained the finish. “I practiced that shot in the gym and I’m very happy with the outcome. I told all my teammates back in Chicago that I was dedicating this fight to Ed Brown.”
Los Angeles junior middleweight Flavio Rodriguez (6-0, 5 קאָס) kept his undefeated record intact against previously unbeaten Mexican fighter Dilan “El Tremendo” Loza(5-1, 3 קאָס) in the television opener. ראַדריגעז, who one point during his 4 1/2-year hiatus from the ring weighed 90 pounds more than he entered the ring tonight, won by way of a third-round technical knockout. The 10-round main event is a classic match-up of contrasting styles between undefeated Oscar Cantu (14-0, 1 קאָ) and Aston Palcite (21-2, 18 קאָס) for Cantu’s North American Boxing Federation (NABF) super flyweight belt, as well as the vacant World Boxing Organization (וובאָ) Inter-Continental super flyweight championship. Fan favorite Ornelas, 18, will square off in his seventh the eighth fight of his six-month pro career against California bantamweight Jorge Perez (6-4-1, 3 קאָס) in a four-rounder.

Cantu vs. Palicte will be contested for two belts as Cantu defends his North American Boxing Federation (NABF) super flyweight championship, in addition to the vacant World Boxing Organization (וובאָ) Inter-Continental super flyweight title.

Styles made fights and a classic match-up between a consummate boxer (Cantu) and powerful puncher (Palicte) guarantees an intriguing fight that should be highly entertaining and incredibly competitive. Both fighters also respect each other.
“Palicte brings an impressive record and a lot of experience,” Cantu noted. “The road to a world title is a tough one, which means no easy opponents. I am really excited about this challenge. This is a classic fight because of our styles and I am sure we won’t let the viewing public down. I am ready to become the next great American champion in this weight class.”
“Cantu is a smart boxer,” Palicte added. “I’d compare him to Ismael Garnica, who I fought in our Showdown at Sands in Macau. (Palicte won by way of a seventh-round TKO.) ער (Cantu) is kind of a runner, צו, always moving around the ring, but we can never tell one’s ability until we’ve fought.

The 25-year-old Cantu (14-0, 1 קאָ), fighting out of Kingsville, טעקסאַס, is a pure boxer who is the reigning North American Boxing Federation (NABF) מייַסטער, ראַנגקט קיין. 3 by the WBO North American Boxing Organization (NABO) און ניט קיין. 6 by the NABA. He is a belt collector having been the former NABF Junior super flyweight, וועלט באָקסינג קאָונסיל (וובק) Youth Intercontinental bantamweight and World Boxing Council (וובק) United States super flyweight title holder.

Palicte, who will be making his US debut Dec. 17 having resettled in Los Angeles, where he’s training at the famed Wild Card Gym, to enhance his boxing career. Palicte has fought only once outside of his native Philippines as a professional. He has an experience advantage over Cantu in terms of fighting higher quality opponents. World rated at No. 11 by the International Boxing Federation (יבף) און ניט קיין. 15 דורך די וובאָ, Palicte captured the vacant IBF Pan Pacific super flyweight championship this past June in his most recent fight, סטאָפּפּינג Vergilio Silvano (21-6-1) in the seventh round of their rematch, which was also won by Palicte via a 12-round unanimous decision a year ago for the vacant WBO Oriental super flyweight title.
The heavy-handed Palicte, who has knocked out 18 פון זיין 21 victims, is rated No. 5 by the NABF and No. 15 by the NABA. Palicte, 25, also owns his share of title belts, including the IBF Youth super flyweight strap.
