WBA Super Featherweight Champion Gervonta Davis Battles Former Champion Hugo Ruiz In SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING® Main Event Presented By Premier Boxing Champions

CARSON, Calif. (Febbraio 4, 2019) – Unbeaten Super Featherweight Xavier Martinez will clash with Colombia’s Daivi Bassa and lightweight contender Ladarius Miller is set to battle Daulius Prescott in non-televised undercard action on Saturday, Febbraio 9 da Dignità Salute Sports Park, precedentemente StubHub Centro, in Carson, California.

The main event of a SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING tripleheader features unbeaten WBA Super Featherweight Champion Gervonta Davis defending his title against former world champion Hugo Ruiz in an event presented by Premier Boxing Champions.

The unbeaten Martinez (12-0, 8 KO) has stopped his last four opponents, including a technical knockout victory over Oscar Bravo in his last fight in September. The 21-year-old from Sacramento, Calif. will be looking to do the same when he steps in for a 10-round bout against Bassa (20-7, 12 KO), a 37-year-old southpaw from Monteira, Colombia. Bassa is looking to rebound from a unanimous decision loss to Jonathan Oquendo in his last fight in December.



Mugnaio (18-1, 5 KO) has used his boxing ability to make a steady climb up the lightweight ladder with impressive victories over Jamel Herring and Dennis Galarza. The 25-year-old, a southpaw who was born in Memphis and now lives in Las Vegas, is coming off a majority decision victory over Ricardo Garcia in his last fight in December. He is catching Barranquilla, Colombia’s Prescott (32-10, 24 KO) as he is trying to rebound from a decision loss to Matt Conway in December.

Philadelphia, PA (Maggio 7, 2016)– Christopher Brooker won a 8-round unanimous decision over Antowyan Aikens that headlined a 10-bout card at a nearly sold-out 2300 Arena di South Philadelphia.

In round one, both guys were cut from an accidental headbutt. Brooker over the left eye and Aikens over the right. In tre rotondo, Brooker scored a knockdown when he landed a left hook that sent Aikens to the canvas. Aikens was not hurt as he jumped right up and argued with referee Shawn Clark that it should have been ruled a slip. Brooker continued to get the best of the action as he pushed the pace and he took the bout by scores of 80-71 e 79-72 due volte per aumentare il suo punteggio 9-1. Aikens of Atlantic City is 12-2.
Kermit Cintron pounded out a 6-round unanimous decision over Eduardo Flores in a junior middleweight bout.

Kelleher landed hard power shots over the first two rounds as he dived up his punches between the body and head. Kelleher landed some vicious body shots in round three and assaulted James with a hard flurry in the corner until referee Blair Talmidge stopped the bout at 2:23 di tre tondo.

Erik Primavera won a 6-round split decision over Justin Johnson in a junior middleweight bout.

Cintron, who for most of the last decade was a heralded prospect, turned world champion, is reuniting with the team started him to his journey.
“Everything has been great for this camp and I got excellent sparring and I am ready to go,” detto Cintron.
The Reading, Pennsylvania native is happy to fighting just forty-five minutes away from his hometown. He will making his first appearance in the “City of Brotherly Love” in fifteen years.

“Fighting in Philly is exciting. I will have lots of family, friends from school and other friends be able to drive and see the fight. It is a great opportunity for them to watch me live. It’s been a long time but I am looking forward to it.”

Most of Cintron’s fights in the past decade have been high-profile fights that have been seen in on premium cable television. Cintron is taking this stage of his career one fight at a time.
“It is all up to my promoter Marshall Kauffman and King’s Promotions. When he says that I am ready for a bigger fight, that is when we will move to that. I am just trying to get my feet wet again. I am excited for this opportunity and to be back with Marshall. Marshall and Joe Pastore trained me to get to the top. Now Joe is training me and Marshall is promoting me and I am happy to be back with them. I am just trying to get back to being my old self again. I have been working on walking my opponents down.”
This fight is ticketed for 154 libbre, but Cintron has eyes on welterweight glory again.
“We will slowly work our way down and see how my body feels. This will be at 154. The next fight, I am looking at 150-151 and then hopefully 147.”
In Flores, Cintron is fighting an experienced foe who has been in the ring with former world champion Carlos Baldomir plus a bevy of contenders and prospects.
“I really do not know much on him other then he has fought a bunch of good fighters and he is from Ecuador. I just expect me to be my old self and if that is the case, a knockout should be happening il Venerdì.”

LAS VEGAS (Settembre 29, 2015) – Javier “Il Abejon” Fortuna (29-0-1, 21 KO) used a relentless attack to stop Carlos “Doppia sogno” Velasquez (19-2, 12 KO) in the tenth-round and retain his super featherweight world title on Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) MARTEDI TOE-to-toe su FS1 e Boxing Champions su FOX Deportes da Il Teatro Perla a Palms Casino Resort.

“Ha davvero un buon tempismo. Siamo entrambi tecnici. Volevo fargli perdere, voleva farmi mancare. Ha atterrato alcuni colpi di potenza più ma io lo faceva lavorare per esso alla fine.”

“Ho lasciato troppo vicino, quindi non posso lamentarmi della decisione. Andrò a casa a guardare la battaglia, ma in questo momento non mi posso lamentare. I giudici hanno visto quello che hanno visto.
“Il piano di gioco era quello di rimanere rilassato, ma sono caduto fuori dal piano di gioco. Ho fatto male nel terzo turno e tipo di mi incasinato. Ho iniziato a cercare che un solo colpo di porvi fine. Devo lavorare di rimanere costante e rilassata.
“Dolton aveva vero lavoro buon piede, ha catturato mi affondo in. Lo conosco dai tempi dilettanti quindi so quanto è bravo.
“Sono motivato a tornare in palestra e cominciare ad andare 20, 30 giri senza stancarsi. Sono stato gassato alla fine, ma si tratta di una esperienza di apprendimento.”
