Garcia to debut in her third combat sport at “Combate Estrellas”

NEW YORK– Februar 19, 2019 – Combate Americas has signed undefeated boxer and former Lucha Underground mester Dulce Maria Garcia Rivas (0-0 MMA, 5-0 boksing), formerly known as “Sexy Star,” to an exclusive, multi-fight Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promotional agreement, the premier sports entertainment franchise announced today.

Garcia will make her much-anticipated MMA rules debut under the promotion of Combate Americas at the soon-to-be-announced ‘Combate Estrellas’ live television event in her hometown of Monterrey, N.L., Mexico on Friday, April 12.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dulce Garcia to the Combate Americas familia, and see her perform in La Jaula, and what is quickly emerging as the second biggest sport with Hispanic millennial fans worldwide,”Sa Combate Amerika CEO Campbell McLaren.

Garcia notched three consecutive professional boxing victories in 2018 – her most recent, a six-round unanimous decision over Karla Islas august 18 – to bring her overall record in the sport to an unblemished, 5-0.

NEW YORK – October 30, 2018 – Combate Americas today announced its much-anticipated, second annual “COPA COMBATE” one-night Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) tournament extravaganza featuring eight fighters, representing eight different countries, battling it out for a $100,000 grand prize, på Save Mart Center i Fresno, Calif., live in English in the U.S. and Canada on DAZN (10 pm. The “COPA COMBATE” tournament will take place in the featherweight (145 pounds) divisjon, and will feature the winners of September’s two ‘Copa’ qualifier bouts – Andres “The Bullet” Quintana (15-2) of Roswell, N.M., USA and Alejandro "Gallito" Flores (13-1) of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico – as well as previously announced Gaston “Tonga” Reyno (8-2, 2 NC) av Montevideo, Uruguay.

 

Reyno was announced as a tournament entrant on the air live, immediately following his stunning, first-round (2:21) innsending (rear-naked choke) av Carlos Ochoa at the “Combate Americas: Camino a Copa” live event in Long Beach, Calif. september 28.

 

Also announced today for “COPA COMBATE” tournament action was the competitor who will represent Spain – 24-year-old Zebenzui “El Niño Roca” Ruiz (7-2) of Las Palmas, Gran Canaria.

NEW YORK– April 26, 2018– Combate Americas today announced ratings for its first two live, 2018 events – “Combate Estrellas I” and “Combate Estrellas II” – which also marked the historic, first-ever live Univision and Univision Deportes Network (UDN) televised Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) events, på fredag, April 13 and Friday, April 20, henholdsvis.

Airing exclusively on UDN in the midnight ET slot the following Friday, April 20, “Combate Estrellas II” delivered another 200,000 total viewers, en 10 percent increase from the first installment of the two-part, “Combate Estrellas” live event series.

Of the total UDN viewers for “Combate Estrellas II," 67 percent were in the 18-49 age group.

Leading off the live telecast, 20-year-old sensation Melissa “Super Melly” Martinez (4-0) extended her unbeaten run by earning a dominant, unanimous decision over Ivanna Martinenghi (4-2) Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Historisk partnerskap begynner med Live Univision Broadcast
av “Combate Estrellas I” fra Los Angeles videre Fredag, April 13

NEW YORK - Mars 29, 2018 - Univision Deportes and Combate Americas, den fremste spanske blandede kampsporten (MMA) sportsfranchise, i dag kunngjort i fellesskap en historisk, flerårig partnerskap for å produsere og distribuere live Combate Americas kampprogrammering på Univision og Univision Deportes Network (UDN).
 

Avtalen markerer første gang noensinne at Univision Deportes skal produsere og distribuere live MMA programmering og, i 2018, vil omfatte totalt 16 TV-sendinger, begynner med en live, 90-minuttsending på Univision (12er ET/ 12er PT) og UDN (12er ET/ 9pm PT) av det nylig annonserte showet "Combate Estrellas I" på Shrine i Los Angeles, Calif. på Fredag, April 13.

Live Univision-sendingen av "Combate Estrellas I" vil bli overskrevet av en etterlengtet, bantamvekt (135 pounds) omkamp mellom John “Sexi Mexi” Castaneda (16-3), som representerer U.S., og Marc “Lufo” Gomez (21-11), som representerer Spania.

 

I co-main event, femdivisjons verdensmester i boksing Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano (0-0), bekjempelse av Brooklyn, N.Y., vil debutere hennes etterlengtede MMA-regler, representerer Puerto Rico mot stigende stjerne Erendira “Aketzaly” Ordoñez (2-1) av Mexico i en flyvevekt (125 pounds) contest.

 

En fjærvekt (145 pounds) konkurranse mellom hardtslående knockout-artist Jose “Froggy” Estrada (4-1), som representerer USA. og andre slående maskin Pablo "Black Rooster" Sabori (8-4) Mexico, åpner direktesendingen.

Priset fra $40, billetter til “Combate Estrellas I” selges på både AXS.com og Ticketon.com Fredag, Mars 9.

Headlining 10-bout-kortet vil være en mye etterlengtet, bantamvekt (135 pounds) omkamp mellom John “Sexi Mexi” Castaneda (16-3) og Marc “Lufo” Gomez (21-11).
