Ruben Villa and Michael Dutchover remain undefeated with wins in Ontario, Kalifornia

Azonnali kiadásra
PHILADELPHIA, PENN./ORANGE, Kalifornia. (Hét. 25, 2017) – Heralded prospects, pehelysúly Ruben Villa and junior lightweight Michael Dutchover remained perfect with unanimous decision victories this past Péntek night in Ontario, Kalifornia.
Ruben Villa (8-0, 4 KO) of Salinas, Kalifornia. displayed his superior talent by out boxing veteran Ernesto Guerrero (26-20, 18 KO) of Mexico through six rounds. Villa swept all three scorecards (60-54) to continue an impressive start to his young career.

In what was perhaps his toughest test to date, Villa performed admirably and displayed his quickness by darting in and out of danger, all the while landing power shots to the head and body.

We had a game plan for Guerrero, and we executed it perfectly,” Villa said. “We gave him different looks and fought him from different angles. I don’t think he ever got comfortable.

Villa is promoted by Banner Promotions and Thompson Boxing.

Dutchover (6-0, 4 KO) of Midland, Tex. knocked down Mexico’s Carlos Flores (4-6-1, 3 KO) in the opening round to get things going on his way to a unanimous decision sweep (40-35).

Throughout the fight, Dutchover snapped his left jab to set up an inside attack that left Flores bruised and battered by the fourth round.

I had a lot of success working off the jab,” said Dutchover, who is co-promoted by Banner Promotions and Thompson Boxing. “I’m happy with the win. I’ll rest for a little, and then I’ll be back in the gym working to get better.

Michael Dutchover Dishes on Sparring Sessions with Oscar Valdez & Jessie Magdaleno

Azonnali kiadásra
ORANGE, Kalifornia. (Hét. 21, 2017) – Top junior lightweight prospect Michael Dutchover (5-0, 4 KO) marks his return to the ring pénteken éjszaka ellen Carlos Flores (4-5-1, 3 KO) in a featured 6-round bout on the “Új vér” undercard.

The five-fight show, promoted by Thompson Boxing Promotions, takes place at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, Kalifornia.

Jegyek a “Új vér” az ára $40, $60, & $100 and are available for purchase by calling 714-935-0900, or visiting ThompsonBoxing.com.

Dutchover, an accomplished amateur who earned a bronze medal at the U.S. Olympic Trials in 2015 and a runner-up finish at the National Golden Gloves competition a year later, turned professional last year and already possesses a fan friendly style.

Thompson Boxing caught up the with Midland, Tex. native and got his take on relocating to the Los Angeles area, what it was like to spar with two world champions, and his outlook A pénteki harc.

Your training camp was unlike any other in that you sparred against world champions Oscar Valdez and Jessie Magdaleno, as well as blue-chip prospect Michael Conlan. What was it like going against such high-level talent?

Sparring against world champions elevates your game and boosts your confidence tremendously. I held my own the first few sessions with Oscar and Jessie and they called me back for other sessions. These guys expect solid work so I was glad that they brought me back. I’m gaining experience from some of the best so it’s awesome. It was also great sparring with Michael. With those three I was able to see different styles that will help me in my development.

Your opponent Carlos Flores has had an uneven career. How do you get up for a fight where you are the clear favorite?

You can’t think that every fight is going to be easy. If you’re not ready for a fight then anyone can make you look bad. This sport is unforgiving in that way. I’m going to be on my “A” game and it will show Péntek.”

Earlier this year you made the decision to relocate to the Los Angeles area and leave your hometown of Midland, Tex. What has been the toughest part of this move?

I’m doing what I love to do and that always involves sacrifices. The most difficult part is being away from friends and family and being far from home. I knew moving to Los Angeles was the right choice because if you want to get better, especially in the lower weight classes, this area is the place to be. On any given day you can spar with contenders and world champions so it’s been great for me.

How do you see Friday’s fight going down?

I can predict a solid win for me and my team. I’m going to let my punches go and just be active. I’ll work off the jab to open things up and I’m going to show an improved defense. I’m going to look the best I’ve looked so far. That much I know.

Dutchover is promoted by Banner Promotions and Thompson Boxing.

All five fights will be livestreamed on TB Presents: New Blood via our Facebook page and ThompsonBoxing.com.

The livestream starts at 8:00 p.m. PT / 11:00 p.m. ÉS with Beto Duran as the blow-by-blow announcer and Steve Kim providing expert color commentary.

Az Elite Prospect Ruben Villa a veterán Ernesto Guerrero ellen küzd péntek este Ontarióban, ILYEN AS

Azonnali kiadásra
ORANGE, Kalifornia. (Hét. 20, 2017) – Ruben Villa (7-0, 4 KO), one of the featherweight division’s brightest young talents, takes the next step in his development by clashing with veteran Ernesto Guerrero (26-19, 18 KO) in one of two highly anticipated match-ups A pénteki “Új vér” undercard.

The 6-round bout takes place at the Doubletree Hotel -ban Ontario, Kalifornia.
Jegyek a “Új vér” az ára $40, $60, & $100 and are available for purchase by calling 714-935-0900 or visiting ThompsonBoxing.com.

Villa, a southpaw fighting out of Salinas, Kalifornia., turned professional last July and already has produced seven one-sided wins. His opponent for Friday, Mexico’s Guerrero, is no push over. Guerrero has won his last five fights, four of which ended in knockout fashion.

Guerrero’s a veteran so we’ve been extra serious in this camp,” said Villa. “My team believes that I can take him out. My team wouldn’t set me up against an opponent that I wouldn’t be able to handle so I feel ready for this challenge.

Villa, 20, loaded up on top-level sparring to help bridge the experience gap between him and Guerrero. He spent three weeks in Indio, Kalifornia. sparring against elite competition such as unbeaten, world title contender Joseph Diaz.

The way Diaz puts his punches together was really impressive,” said Villa, who is promoted by Banner Promotions and Thompson Boxing. “Ez volt egy nagy tanulási tapasztalat számomra. It’s not every day you get to spar with someone with that high of a skill level.

In addition to the knowledge learned from the Diaz sessions, Villa is attempting to sharpen his mental focus for his fight against Guerrero.

I need to be more intelligent in the ring,” Villa said. “I’ve been a little reckless listening to the crowd and taking unnecessary risks. We sparred against bigger guys during this training camp to help me stay disciplined.

Szintén a “Új vér” undercard, advanced junior lightweight prospect Michael Dutchover (5-0, 4 KO), who is a close friend and occasional sparring partner to Villa, harcol Carlos Flores (4-5-1, 3 KO) in bout set for 6-rounds.

Like Villa, Dutchover comes from an outstanding amateur career and also shares the same promotional outfits in Banner Promotions and Thompson Boxing.

LONG BEACH, Kalifornia. (Július 30, 2017) – Undefeated pehelysúlyú kilátásba Tramaine “The Mighty Midget” Williams made a major statement last night (Szombat, Július 29), dropping former world title challenger WilliamChirizo” Gonzalez three times in the opening round of a sensational performance in the “KO Boxing Night” Zúgás a vízen 2″ főversenyen, which aired live on CBS Sports Network from The Queen Mary’s outdoor venue in Long Beach, Kalifornia.

“KO Boxing Night: Zúgás a vízen 2” was presented by Black Tree, and promoted by Roy Englebrecht Promotions, in association with KO Night Boxing LLC and Roc Nation Sports.
…..and the end for William Gonzalez
The 5′ 4″ Williams (12-0, 5 KO), fighting out of New Haven (CT), exploded with pin-point accuracy, also displaying his new-found power, dropping Gonzalez 30-8, 26 KO), of Nicaragua, three time in the first round. The crafty southpaw finished off his more experienced opponent with a perfectly placed right-left combination, right on the button, for his third and final knockdown. Referee Raul Caiz, Jr. waved off the action, not bothering to count, as Gonzalez lay vertical on his back in dire straits.
I prepared well for this fight and anything can happen when I work hard,” Williams remarked after his third consecutive knockout victory. “I felt his power early with a body shot but I stayed focused.
I can deal with anybody in my division. I want to fight Lee Selby (IBF featherweight world champion), or any of the world champions, but none will fight me. I really want Gary Russell (WBC bajnok); Azért vagyok itt,, Gary. It’ll be target practice for me.
A co-szolgáltatás, highly touted super middleweight prospect Junior “A fiatal Isten” Younan (13-0, 9 KO) veretlen, winning a close eight-round decision against tough Mikrofon “The Menace” Guy, A Sacramento (ILYEN AS), the former California State champion. (9-3-1, 5 KO) Guy was penalized a point for tossing Younan to the mat at the end of round six or the result would have been a majority draw.
In his first eight-round fight, the 21-year-old Younan gained invaluable experience fighting the non-stop Guy, who kept coming forward, throwing punches from all angles, at his Brooklyn opponent.

Junior Younan (R) had a learning experience in victory against Mike Guy
You can’t learn if you don’t go rounds,” Younan correctly noted after the fight. “I’m only going to improve. Guy kept moving forward the entire fight. There were a couple of things that bothered me, but I went eight hard rounds and won. Thank you to Mike Guy for that.
Former Winthrop College (SC) Kosárlabda játékos Jonnie Rice (7-2-1, 4 KO), fighting out of Los Angeles, opened the televised broadcast with a convincing six-round unanimous decision over RodneyKing Corso” Hernandez (10-6-2, 2 KO), Fresno (ILYEN AS).
I thought I did real well against a good opponent,” former power forward Rice said after the fightHe’s an athlete, getting better each fight. He’s not the same fighter he was a year ago. I’m becoming more strategic, working on my jab to get better. Basketball players need good footwork like Chris Paul and Lebron James. I’m working to bring my footwork from basketball to boxing,”
Szülővárosa kedvenc Raul Calderon (1-0) pitched a shutout over Eric Gomez (0-1), winning a four-round unanimous decision (40-36 X 3), in a battle of pro-debuting Californians.
