BROOKLYN (Junho 28, 2016)—Undefeated former two-division world champion Mikey Garcia will return to the ring after a two-and-a-half-year layoff on Sábado, Julho 30 on an exciting night of boxing on ALTURA DE COMEÇAR e SHOWTIME EXTREME that is one of the strongest cards ever assembled at Barclays Centro em Brooklyn.

 

Garcia, who won world titles at featherweight and super featherweight, will fight former world champion Elio Rojas in a 10-round bout in the Showtime Championship Boxing co-feature of the Leo Santa Cruz vs. Carl Frampton event presented by Premier Boxing Champions (PBC).

 

In the opening bout of the Showtime Championship Boxing telecast that begins at 9 p.m. E/6 p.m. PT, once-beaten 154-pound contenders Tony Harrison e Sergey Rabchenko will meet in a 12-round IBF Junior Middleweight Eliminator. Harrison and Rabchenko will square off for the No. 2 mandatory challenger spot to IBF titlist Jermall Charlo, who successfully defended his crown on Maio 21, and undefeated contender Julian Williams, who earned the No. 1 mandatory position on Março 5, both on SHOWTIME. Harrison vs. Rabchenko is the sixth matchup in 2016 between top 154-pound fighters, a lineup showcasing three world title fights and three title elimination matches in one of boxing’s deepest divisions.

 

The combined record of the six fighters on the SHOWTIME telecast is an impressive 162-4-1 com 113 nocautes.

 

An all-Brooklyn showdown between welterweight technicians Paulie "Magic Man" Malignaggi e Gabriel “Tito” Bracero highlights the undercard action on SHOWTIME BOXING on SHOWTIME EXTREME. The 10-round bout is a matchup between a former two-division world champion, Malignaggi, and a fellow Brooklyn native, Bracero, coming off the biggest win of his career when he knocked out Danny O'Connor outubro do ano passado.

I have not seen much of Harrison, but I am ready for anyone. People say he is a very good fighter with good power. I’m not worried. I have good power as well and I think I will have too much for him.”

 

Com apenas 25 anos de idade, Harrison (23-1, 19 KOs) has showed tremendous promise. He has faced a slew of big names throughout his career and has been victorious over the likes of Zab Judah, Vyacheslav Senchenko e Pablo Cesar Cano. Another Brooklyn-native, Bracero (24-2, 5 KOs) comes off of a sensational one-punch knockout of rival Danny O'Connor in their rematch last October. The 35-year-old owns victories over Dmitry Salita e Pavel Miranda in addition to his first triumph over the previously unbeaten O’Connor in 2011.

 

IVAN REDKACH vs. TEVIN FARMER:

“I couldn’t be more excited about this fight,” Farmer said. “This is my Barclays Center debut and it is going to be a spectacular performance. I have called out anyone and everyone in the 130- pound division to no avail, so now I’m moving up to 135 to take on Redkach, one of the most feared punchers in the division. Redkach is an aggressive guy and I know he is coming to fight, but there is no way I leave that ring without my hand being raised. This is a fight where I can and I will make a major statement. I’m willing to fight whoever they put in front of me to inch closer to a world title opportunity and Julho 30 is another step in that direction. I tip my hat off to Redkach for giving me this fight, but this is my time to shine.”

FÉNIX, THE (Junho 28, 2016) – Unbeaten Mexican-American super-middleweight, David “O Red Flag” Benavidez (15-0, 14 KOs) is eager to stamp his name in the division. “Although I’ve had a few fights at light-heavyweight, but my plan is to win a title at super-middleweight. I have no problem making 168 pounds and that’s where I’ll be making my march up the rankings. I have a lot of work to do, but I set the bar high for myself and I won’t settle for mediocrity. I got my eye on all the champions at super-middleweight. I’m just going to take it one fight at a time.”

VLADIMIR TIKHONOV MAKING PROGRESS UP THE RATINGS LADDER; RUSSIAN IS LUCKY NO. 13 IN WBA

Brooklyn, Nova Iorque (Junho 15, 2016)– Russo Vladimir Tikhonov, a super bantamweight contender, is the latest signee to the Dmitriy Salita promotional slate. And it looks like the timing is right for the Brooklyner Salita, with word out that this Russian hitter is making his way up the ratings ladder.
Tikhonov (14-0 com 8 KOs) has entered the WBA world rankings at No. 13.

Ele se tornou profissional em 2008, has fought once outside Russia, and Salita is looking to get him some more passport stamps.

A left-hander, Tikhonov is methodical and busy. He is active with his feet and can sting with both hands. Opponents need to be wary of him slipping punches in from underneath. He is ultra calm in the ring, fica em, gets off and gets out.

“Vladimir is a talented boxer who has lots of experience and potential to compete with the best in the world,” said the Brooklyn based promoter, who is putting together an Agosto. 19 show in Rochester, NY to be headlined by Jarrell Miller. “Tikhonov is world ranked now and I will be looking to land a significant fight for him in the near future. He wants the toughest tests, like Guillermo Rigondeaux (the WBA super bantam champion; Moises Flores holds their interim title), Scott Quigg and Nonito Donaire. He is yet another Russian warrior, with fighting in his blood!”

Promoter Salita has climbed the mountain himself as a fighter, acumulando uma 35-2-1 mark as a professional within the welterweight class. Santa Cruz and Frampton collide in a battle of world champions who mix dizzying speed with incredible output that produces exciting fight after exciting fight. This fight will be the fifth featherweight world title fight presented by SHOWTIME in 2016. It was just the third fight in the featherweight division for Santa Cruz, who has won belts at 118 e 122 pounds while earning a reputation as one of boxing’s most active and exciting fighters. The 27-year-old also holds victories over Cristian Mijares e Eric Morel. He has competed in world title bouts in 11 de sua última 13 fights since 2012. BELGIAN BOXER ALEX MISKIRTCHIAN GETS FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE SHOT

Brooklyn, Nova Iorque (Março 16, 2016) – Even the very best in the business experience setbacks and get faced with choice time. Can I learn from my mistake and turn a negative into a positive?
Alex Miskirtchian found himself enjoying his momentum up the featherweight ladder before he hit a pothole in the road last summer. The Georgia-born fighter with a 26-4-1 mark got caught by vet Cornelius Lock and had to assess himself.

He did so, and licked his wounds and got back to work. The Belgium resident, who has mostly fought in his home-land, rebounded with a win in December and is being rewarded for his perseverance with an IBF intercontinental championship opportunity.

Miskirtchian, promoted by Brooklyn’s Dmitriy Salita, will fight Vireol Simion on Março 18, for a crack at that crown.

“Alex is fighting for a title but more importantly for a chance to come back to the top of the division,” Palavra disse.

“He learned from his US experience, against Lock, took a break and came back with extra motivation to again make a world title run. I believe Alex will put on one of his best performances in this upcoming fight. He has a great team with manager Alain Vanackère and I believe the result will be a positive one on March 18th.”

The fight against the 19-1 Romanian Viorel will unfold in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, so Miskirtchian will need to fight his best brand of boxing that evening. Seu promotor, Palavra, has faith in him.

BROOKLYN (Setembro 30, 2015) – Em um confronto muito aguardado entre dois dos lutadores mais talentosos e excitantes do Brooklyn, WBA campeão dos médios do Mundo Daniel “The Miracle Man” Jacobs (30-1, 27 KOs)vai assumir o ex-campeão do mundo Peter “Chocolate Kid” Quillin (32-0-1, 23 KOs)em Sábado, Dezembro 5 do Barclays Center, em Brooklyn viver ALTURA DE COMEÇAR (9 p.m. E/6 p.m. PT).
“Não há dúvida de que isso vai ser uma das maiores lutas Brooklyn já viu,” Disse Jacobs. “Peter e eu voltar um longo tempo, mas este é um negócio. Eu sou o campeão e ele é o challenger. Estes dois lutadores poderosos têm sido em rota de colisão por vários anos, datando de quando Quillin foi o campeão dos médios e Jacobs WBO estava trabalhando de volta para o status de candidato após ficar de fora mais de um ano devido ao câncer.
Enquanto Quillin abandonou o cinto devido ao nascimento de seu filho ea morte de seu tio, Jacobs continuou a subir no ranking e ganhou seu título mundial com um nocaute em agosto de 2014 sobre Jarrod Fletcher em Brooklyn. Uma figura inspiradora que vai lutar pelo Barclays Center, pela quinta vez, Do Brooklyn Jacobs completou o seu caminho para o campeão, quando ele derrotou Fletcher para o título dos médios. Em 2011, ao perseguir um campeonato no ringue, câncer de sua vida ameaçada e manteve-se à margem de 19 meses. Quando ele voltou, ele pegou onde parou, e não perdeu desde. A 28-year-old está saindo de uma paralisação segunda rodada do ex-campeão mundial Sergio Mora em agosto.
Quillin recebe de volta no ringue depois de ter nocauteado Michael Zerafa no início deste mês para acompanhar o empate suado contra o campeão mundial dos médios Andy Lee em abril. Ele ganhou um cinturão dos médios em 2012 com o destaque-reel, demolição de seis knockdown contra Hassan N'Dam no primeiro cartão de boxe hospedado no Barclays Center.
