Lakeland, IBCE (October 11, 2015) – Undefeated light heavyweight Radivoje “Hot Rod” Kalajdzic wasted no time in getting rid of Brazilian power puncher Gilberto Domingos yesterday evening at the Florida Orange Event Center in Lakeland.
Headlining Mad Integrity Fight Sports“Bombs Away 4,” Kalajdzic had a vocal group of supporters backing him and was on the attack from the opening bell. Kalajdzic connected with quick punches to Domingosmid section, hurting him just seconds into the fight. A visibly hurt Domingos unsuccessfully attempted to move and tighten his guard, finding himself on the canvas courtesy of a stinging combination. Moments later, the popular Saint Petersburg, FL resident unleashed another combination to deck Domingos for a second time, mercifully forcing the stoppage at 1:32 in the first of a scheduled eight rounds.
He left his body open and I knew if I connected he’d go down,” said Kalajdzic, who moved up to cruiserweight for this fight to accommodate Domingos and is now 20-0 nrog 13 wins by knockout. “It feels great to fight (close to home) and I would love to keep fighting here. I don’t care who I fight as long as the money is right, but I’ll let (my promoter) Lou DiBella handle that.”
Domingos returns to Sao Paulo, Brazil with a record of 24-4 (21 KO's).
Nyob hauv tus nqi feature, hometown favorite Leanthony “Tyga” Fleming won a competitive decision against a very game Randy Hedderick. Coming in at a fit and ready 146.2 lbs, Fleming showed good movement ring generalship, leading with his jab throughout the bout. Hedderick wasn’t intimidated by fighting on the road and effectively pressured the Lakeland native in spurts.
Scores were 40-36 thiab 39-37 twice. Fleming is now 1-1 while his Gulfport, MS based foe slips to 0-5.
Miami’s Armando “The Gentleman” Alvarez, 8-0 (4 KO's) dominated grizzled veteran Juan Aguirre, 6-16-1, of Jacksonville, IBCE. The long and lean Alvarez consistently connected with sharp punches, maintaining an impressive pace throughout the six round junior middleweight contest. Aguirre, who took many clean punches, was never in serious danger of being stopped and displayed a great chin.
All three judges scored the contest 60-54.
In the fight of the night, Clearwater, FL’s Alex Nicholson scored a dramatic second round knockout of fellow debuting heavyweight Joseph White. Nicholson, who was outweighed by 40 pounds, nearly dropped White for the count at the end of the first but the Miamian made it back to his feet a split second before the bell sounded. In the second, White temporarily turned the tides by rocking Nicholson. Damaged but not defeated, Nicholson unleashed a vicious hook that put White down for the count at 2:24.
In other undercard bouts, junior lightweight Michael Guillen twice dropped and dominated Curtis Vert, while Wytama Faulk edged out Clark Brightwell in a lightweight contest.
Prior to the main event, Mad Integrity Fight Sports presented a birthday cake to close friend and junior middleweight contender “Silky” Wilky Campfort while recognizing notable fighters in attendance including uncrowned junior lightweight champion Edner Cherry. UFC 190 Main Card Preview and Predictions

By: Rich Bergeron

Ronda Rousey (11-0) and Bethe Correia (9-0) will headline UFC 190 in a women’s bantamweight title bout that is guaranteed to deliver fireworks. These two rivals will fight in the challenger’s home country, but Rousey is a worldwide star who is on an epic roll so far in her MMA career. Correia is an underdog in her own country, but she’s also an undefeated striker who could give Rousey trouble if the armbar doesn’t come into play.

Correia made some insensitive remarks about Rousey committing suicide leading up to this fight. Suicide is a sore subject for the champ, who saw her father take his own life when she was younger. Rousey’s since promised topunishBethe when they meet in the cage tonight.

Rousey is a perfectionist, plain and simple. Just when you think she can’t get any better, she surprises you and does just that. Correia is a tough-talking and confident fighter, but she is just nowhere near Rousey’s level. If she has any chance at all, it is in the first round. Rousey is not looking for a quick submission if we are to believe her admitted intentions of hurting Correia are genuine. Correia could use her reach and power-punching ability to rattle Rousey early and knock her out, but that means going to to toe with a champion who’s shown much-improved striking over the course of her last few fights.

Prediction: Look for Rousey to go back on her promise and finish this fight early, as her emotions will take over and stop her from thinking too much about drawing this one out. She will just wade in, throw down and walk out of the first round with another TKO to add to all her submission wins. She will smash Correia’s big nose wide open and judo toss the challenger to the mat where she’ll close the show with effective ground and pound.

The co-main event features Mauricio Rua (22-10) versus Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (21-6) in a rematch of a fight that happened under the PRIDE banner in January of 2005. Rua won the first fight by unanimous decision. This time, both fighters are long past their prime, and Rua enters the cage with just one win in his last four bouts. Nogueira also has a handicap since he’s coming in more than a year after his last fight, which was a one-sided TKO loss to Anthony Johnson that lasted just 44 seconds.

Prediction: Rua is not as heavy handed as Johnson, and Nogueira should get his revenge in this fight by knocking out Rua in the second or third round. Nogueira will have better head movement and defense in the rematch, and Rua just doesn’t have any recent wins against any big names. He’s in over his head in this fight, thiab “Minotourois going to send him into retirement.

Antonio Rodrgio Nogueira (34-9-1) also fights on the undercard againstThe SkyscraperStefan Struve (25-7). This should be an exciting bout, and Mark Hunt showed that Struve is susceptible to haymakers. Can Nogueira exploit that weakness, or will Struve show he’s a legend killer this time out?

Prediction: Nogueira’s coming in with all the experience in this bout while Struve has the physicality. It’s said that the bigger they are, the harder they fall, but Struve is an exception. He should be able to take advantage of his youth and his long time away from the cage addressing injuries and health concerns. He will out-strike Nogueira and fight tall throughout the first two rounds, finally finishing Nogueira off with a vicious combo early in the third.

Other major highlights on this card include a women’s MMA showdown between Jessica Aguilar (19-4) and Claudia Gadelha (12-1) and a heavyweight clash between SoaThe HulkPalelei (20-4) and AntonioBigfootSilva (18-7-1). Musgrave (14-4) is riding a considerable wave of momentum coming into this title fight. In his most recent outing, “The Spazmanian Devilscored a dominant first round TKO win over four-time UFC vet and jiu-jitsu black belt Alvin Robinson at RFA 22 in January. The win took place in Musgrave’s hometown of Colorado Springs, Colorado and extended his winning streak to four fights in a row. The former U.S. Army Ranger has won six of seven fights over the last two and a half years and he is eager to bring home a title that he has had his eyes on for awhile.
I’ve asked for it, I’ve waited for it, and now it’s finally here,” Musgrave said about his RFA title shot. “Everyone at Pariah MMA in Colorado Springs is excited about this and our gym is about to be put on the map. Barcelos is a tough kid, very aggressive, and a worthy opponent. I’m excited to get in there and fight.
Barcelos (8-1) also returns to the RFA octagon fresh off a scintillating first round finish. The win came via KO over the previously undefeated NCAA Division I All-American wrestler Jamal Parks at RFA 23 in February. The bout was the Brazilian dynamo’s third for the promotion and he was able to showcase his well-rounded skill set in devastating fashion. On top of his tremendous KO power, Barcelos is a world class jiu-jitsu black belt that began trainingthe gentle artwith his father, black-and-red belt Laerte Barcelos, when he was just two-years old. The Nova União standout now looks to add the RFA featherweight title to his lengthy list of athletic accomplishments.
I am very happy to fight for the RFA world title,” stated Barcelos. “RFA is an event that has been showing a lot of talent for the world to see. I’m sure with this fight I will have the opportunity to be recognized for my work. It’s a dream come true and an honor to be a champion of a great event like the RFA.
The co-main event of RFA 29 will feature two welterweight MMA prospects, who are quickly rising the ranks of a historically deep division. The first is one of the most beloved fighters in the state of South Dakota. That would be none other than Jordon Larson (6-1), who was born and raised in Sioux Falls, but currently trains out of Power MMA in Gilbert, Arizona. Larson has been the recipient of two of the loudest ovations in RFA history and will be looking for his third onAugust 21st. He will be tasked with facing Brazilian juggernaut Ackson Junior (5-0), who trains out of the famed X-Gym in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. “Tank Russohas been sensational fighting inside of his home continent of South America. He has stopped all five men he has faced with only one of those bouts lasting more than one round.

RFA 29 will also feature the biggest and most important women’s MMA bout to ever take place in the state of South Dakota. RFA fan favorite Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger (5-1) will be the female representative for Team USA. Jones-Lybarger has won all three of her fights in the RFA since making her debut for the promotion in 2014. The MMA LAB standout will be looking for her fourth win in the fourth different state she has fought in for the promotion. She has been given a tough assignment, which will see her clash with the highly-regarded Brazilian strawweight Kinberly Novaes (8-2). Novaes is a dynamic striker that trains under UFC and PRIDE vet Cristiano Marcello at CM System in Curitiba, Brazil. Noaves is perhaps best known for scoring a second round TKO victory over top-ranked UFC bantamweight Jessica Andrade in just her third professional fight.
