Marcus BROWNE
Everyone knows that we know each other. But the buddy-buddy talk is out of the window. Wannan wata yaki. We both have kids to feed. I have a destiny that is already written, and Seanie is in the way of that.
“Kamar Yuli 15, my feelings about Seanie won’t mean a thing. I’m going to have to win. I know this guy trains like a dog and he’s no pushover. All that sparring and stuff you’ve heard about doesn’tmean a thing, it’s just going to be me and him and I have to win.
I can’t wait to go to work. I’ve fought my friends before and at the end of the day it’s business. I’m going to become a world champion and no one is stopping me.
I was raised defense-first by Gary Stark Sr. We are defensive specialist. I’m going to show everything that I have in my arsenal.
Seanie and I came up in the amateurs and won Golden Gloves on the same night. We have history but it means nothing as of today and on Yuli 15. This isn’t sparring, there are no do-overs.
Yuli 15 is going to be fireworks. These undercard fighters are amazing and it’s a fantastic card for Long Island. I’m just blessed to be able to show my talents in this building. I wish I could wake up gobe and it would be fight day. We aren’t friends on Yuli 15. Staten Island is coming out on top over Long Island.
SEANIE MONAGHAN
I’ve been chipping away at a title fight for a long time. When they asked me about Marcus, I first was thinking that it wasn’t the fight I wanted. At this point in the game, it’s may the best man win.
Training has been going great. We might have to pull back a little bit because we already did a five-week training camp when I thought I was fighting Adonis Stevenson, which turned out to be a good thing. He’s a southpaw just like Marcus so we were already sparring with a lot of really good southpaws.
Marcus does everything well. Ya ke azumi, he’s slick and he punches pretty hard. I like to fight and come forward and make it that kind of rough style on fight night.
I’ve mastered the ability to control my emotions on fight night. I’m a professional in my 29ga watan fight so it’s not my first time at the rodeo. This is strictly business, it’s my time.
I definitely want Adonis Stevenson if I can get by Marcus. That’s the fight everybody wants. I want to be a world champion and I will be a world champion one day.
This is a dream come true to fight at this venue. This is going to be the biggest night of my life. It’s do-or-die for me.
TOMMY RAINONE
I’m very thankful to Lou for giving me the opportunity. I’ve fought on a lot of great cards at a lot of great venues. But being a Long Island boy who has come to this venue my entire life and to be a part of brining this kind of event back to long island is a dream come true.
Being on this card and having this venue here is all the motivation I need. I’m going to be in great shape on Yuli 15 and do my part and handle business.
ALICIA NAPOLEON
I am so glad to be here, especially being from Long Island. It’s a wonderful feeling to be on this great card. We’re going to make Long Island proud.
The last time they had boxing here was the year I was born. It’s almost destined that I was going to be first woman to fight at this venue for a world title.
I’m thankful that I have an opportunity to showcase women’s boxing, because we’re not just fighters, we’re athletes. We sacrifice just as much and I’m excited for this fight.
PATRICK DAY
I live 15 minutes away and the fact that there is an arena of this magnitude in my hometown, it really means a lot. It feels like it’s meant to be and I’m going to enjoy it.
The Long Island boxing scene is on the rise. With this Coliseum being renovated, it’s like a Long Island Barclays Center. The scene here will become even more competitive as time goes on.
I like to box. I’m a pure boxer. I stick and move hit and don’t get hit. I’m not going to fight down to anyone’s level, I’m going to fight at my level.
VINCENZO D’ANGELO
I’m just excited to be here and back in the ring. I have a lot of friends fighting on this show and I can’t wait for all of us to show our skills. There are a lot of great boxers on this show.
I’m preparing to put on a great performance for the fans and get another win under my belt onYuli 15. I’m going to make it a memorable debut in my hometown.
Lou DIBELLA, Shugaban DiBella Entertainment
It’s thrilling to me to be able to promote the first show at Nassau Coliseum in 31 shekaru. The last event featured Mike Tyson and we have a terrific card on Yuli 15 that represents the best fighters from Long Island, plus three fights that can stand on their own featuring fighters that deserve to be there.
The undercard will be very representative of Long Island. It will be consistent with what we’ve always done as far as promoting cards that are exciting from the minute the doors open through the final bell.
I’m thrilled that this is on FOX and FOX Deportes and that everyone will be able to see this building rock on Yuli 15. I’m also thrilled with the kind of show they’re getting. What you have is a consistent few hours of unbelievable action. All three of these fights are wars.
Seanie has been working his way up and just winning fight after fight. He’s been looking for a title shot for a long time. Marcus came into the pros with a lot of noise, but he’s kept winning at every step. This is going to be a really good fight and I don’t think it’s going the distance. You can bank on the fact that the winner of this fight will get a shot at the light heavyweight championship of the world.
BRETT YORMARK, CEO of Brooklyn Sports & Nisha
When we envisioned recreating the Coliseum, the goal was to fuel it with world class programming and I think we’ve done that. We’ve had world class artists, the end of a great run of the circus and in the month of July we will host Brooklyn Boxing on Long Island.
We’ve had the opportunity to host incredible boxing events in Brooklyn and now we can do it in Long Island. It’s about being able to be somewhat aspirational. The fight community can grow up dreaming of fighting here in the Coliseum. I’m thrilled we can do that for Seanie and the other fighters on the undercard.
“An 31 years since we last had a fight here at the Coliseum and it’s a thrill to bring it back with some great people. The building is for the community and this will be the first of many boxing events that we host here.

A high volume puncher with an exciting style, Figueroa has returned to training with Joel Diaz in California leading up to this fight and looks to make his presence felt on Yuli 15. Representing Weslaco, Texas, Figueroa is undefeated since turning pro in 2008 and won a lightweight world title by defeating Nihito Arakawa in a 2013 Fight of the Year standout. He followed that victory up with successful defenses against Jerry Belmontes and Daniel Estrada. The 27-year-old most recently defeated former world champions Ricky Burns and Antonio DeMarco in his last two outings.

One of the most popular fighters representing Long Island, Monaghan looks to solidify his first world title shot when he faces Browne on Yuli 15. Monaghan competed in the 2009 New York Golden Gloves before turning pro, reaching the final before dropping a memorable contest to fellow Long Island-native Joe Smith Jr. He has yet to taste defeat in as a professional while battling a slew of veterans eager to test his championship mettle. Monaghan added two more victories in 2016 as he stopped Janne Forsman in five rounds and beat Fernando Castanedo in December.
The always entertaining Szpilka returns to the ring after a defeat at the hands of heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder in 2016 as he attempts to get back on the path towards world title contention. The aggressive-minded 6-foot-3 Szpilka, had a four-fight win streak entering the Wilder bout as he picked up a 10-round unanimous decision over former cruiserweight world champion Tomasz Adamek in 2014 and stoppage victories over Yasmany Consuegra, Manuel Quezada and Ty Cobb in 2015.
A two-time New York Golden Gloves champion, five of Kownacki’s last six victories have come at Barclays Center and he now hopes to bring that winning mindset to the Coliseum. Originally from Poland but now living in Brooklyn, Kownacki stopped previously once-beaten Joshua Tufte in January of this year after 2016 saw him earn a stoppage of Jesse Barboza in June and a decision over Danny Kelly in January. He will take on the toughest test of his career in his countryman Szpilka.

New Heavyweight Champ Charles Martin Says: ‘My Time to Shine Will Come!’

Brand new IBF Heavyweight Champion “Prince” Charles Martin (23-0-1, 21 Kos) should be on cloud nine.
In just his seventh year of boxing and slightly over third as a professional, Martin already finds himself the sixth southpaw to have ever won a heavyweight championship after scoring a TKO 3 over Ukrainian top contender Vyacheslav Glazkov last Saturday night, Janairu 16, at the Barclay’s Center in New York.
Winning any world title is an amazing accomplishment that most never reach in decades of boxing. Add in that Martin took out the 2008 Olympic Super Heavyweight bronze medalist to become the second current American heavyweight champion in a suddenly rejuvenated division.
“Shi ji da kyau,” admits Martin. “I wanted to do it fast. I couldn’t wait,” he explains of his quick ascension. “Some things they say take time but when you’re really determined to do something, you’ll do it as soon as possible.
With his place already assured in the boxing history books and several lucrative possible showdowns on the near horizon, why isn’t Martin the happiest man on the planet?
It was the way he won.
I have an empty feeling right now,” said the 29-year-old champion. “I was in front of so many people and it was my time to shine on Showtime and show the world my skills. I felt that he had no power and said to myself that he would be easy work. I knew I was going to have a great night. I was going to KO him and then everyone would love mebut it didn’t happen like that.
Glazkov stopped fighting in round three due to torn ACL in his knee and Martin was declared the winner of the then-vacant title by way of injury-induced TKO.
I wanted to win the belt my way,” continued the disappointed Martin. “He would have got knocked out eventually. It was coming to him. I never even got to use my uppercut on him, but it’s all good.
Humble and extremely likeable, Martin remained polite, post-fight and expressed his condolences to the disappointed Glazkov. Duk da haka, since that night, Glazkov has gone on to say he hadfigured Martin outand that the championship would have certainly been his had he not been injured.
Oh my goodness, I’m trying to stay humble about the situation, but that’s so crazy what he said,” Said Martin. “If he really thinks that, he’s tripping. Things were about to get a lot worse for him. Na yi maka alkawari, once he started slowing down, my combinations would have started to come out. I was throwing the one/two because he was getting out of the way pretty good in the first few rounds. I was just getting started. I thought I would box him for a while and then start going at him and whip his butt. I promise you I could have. That injury saved him. It broke my heart that I didn’t get to do what I wanted. How does that happen? I was having fun.
Martin says his team and friends and relatives have been good to remind him the abbreviated ending was out of his control. He also says he’ll take a quick vacation and then get right back to work.
So what comes next for the new American heavyweight champion?
Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder. I want them both. I want all the best. That’s the next move. My time to shine will come. I’m a world champion now and I can say that the belt is in the right hands. I’m not going to sit around. I want to fight.
Martin also says that is Britain’s world champ, Tyson Fury, ever points his taunting antics at him, he won’t mind.
It’s good for boxing for him to do that kind of stuff. Ina son wancan. It’s all business. At the end of the day he has no crazy beef with anybody. Nobody choked anybody’s mother. It’s just boxing. You got to get attention somehow. He makes people want to see a fight. We’re in the entertainment and hurt business. It’s definitely a real fight in the ring though. It’s a non-personal thing that very gets personal once they step in the ring with me. That’s two guyslivelihood in there. That’s our income for our families.

NEW YORK (Jan. 17, 2016) – American heavyweight world champion Deontay wilder defended his WBC title for the third time with a devastating ninth round knockout of Polish challenger Arthur Pin a ranar Asabar dare, live on SHOWTIME in front of 12,668 fans at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.. VIDEO haskaka: http://s.sho.com/1Rtg0ac
With WBA and WBO Heavyweight World Champion Tyson Fury and Wilder’s mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin watching from ringside, Wilder (36-0, 35 Kos) impressed yet again in knocking out his 35ga watan opponent in 36 ta faɗa.
It was a close fight until Szpilka walked into a brutal right to the chin while throwing a wide left at 2:24of the ninth round. Szpilka fell onto his back and remained unconscious on the canvas for a few moments before responding to questions and stating he was fine. Fil (20-2, 15 Kos) was conversing and moving all his extremities, however he was taken to Lutheran Hospital on a stretcher as a precautionary measure.
He’s doing good,” said Szpilka’s trainer Ronnie Shields. “He’s awake and knows exactly where he is. He didn’t want to go to the hospital, but he’s going as a precaution. It’s better safe than sorry.
Power was the difference for Wilder, a 6-foot-7 bomber who landed 42 percent of his power shots against the southpaw opponent. The 30-year-old briefly celebrated his victory before checking to ensure that Szpilka was going to be fine.
I told him he was a great contender,” Wilder ce. “He came to give his all. He gave his all for Brooklyn. I always say two prayers. I say a team prayer and I say an individual prayer. I don’t want to hurt a man so he can’t go home to his family. We risk our lives every time we step in the ring. He’s definitely in my prayers and I hope he’s doing well.
He was definitely a crafty guy,” continued Wilder. “I haven’t competed against a southpaw a cikin shekaru uku. Shi ya kasance wani m gasa, but you’re fighting for a world title. It’s not supposed to be easy. I’m surprised it took that long, but we had 12 rounds and they can’t all can’t be pretty.
Fury, the outspoken British unified world champion, climbed into the ring after the fight and claimed he wanted to fight Wilder in a unification blockbuster.
“Kowane lokaci, any place, ko ina. I’ll fight you in your backyard after I beat (Wladimir) Klitschko again.
Wilder, the first American heavyweight champion in nearly a decade, dismissed Fury’s antics while promising he was game for a showdown that is undoubtedly one of the biggest fights that can be made in boxing.
We all know Fury is just a phony,” Wilder ce. “This is just an act. I’m not scared of anybody. We’ll come to your backyard. This is just an actyou’re not a real fighter. I don’t play. This isn’t wrestling. When you do step in that ring with me I promise you I will baptize you.
I would love to fight him next, da rashin alheri, I have other mandatories due. Make the date Tyson, I promise you.
In the SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING opener, Charles Martin won the IBF Heavyweight World Championship when Vyacheslav Glazkov suffered a right knee injury in the third round and was unable to continue. The fight was scored a third round TKO (1:50) after Glazkov told referee Earl Brown that he was unable to continue.
Martin (23-0-1, 21 Kos), who was the aggressor throughout the fight, becomes the sixth southpaw heavyweight champion in boxing history and the second current American heavyweight titlist.
Glazkov (21-1-1, 13 Kos) slipped early in the third and seemed uneasy when he returned to his feet. The previously undefeated Ukrainian continued fighting, but he fell to the canvas again while throwing a punch. Replays confirmed that the right knee injury was a slip and wasn’t the result of a connected shot from Martin. Bayan da yaki, ringside doctor Gerard Verlotta confirmed to SHOWTIME Sports reporter Jim Gray that the injury was a torn right ACL.
I still wanted to fight,” Martin said. “Mun horar ga 12 rounds and we were going to get stronger as the rounds went on. He just kind of twisted his ankle, it looked like. But every time I hit him in the body and his legs were flying. It’s boxing,. That was a football injury. I’m sorry for him. It’s unfortunate he couldn’t continue the fight.
I want to unify the titles. We didn’t even fight yau da dare. I want another fighter. I want Tyson Fury.
A dejected Glazkov pleaded his case for a rematch while being inspected by doctors in his locker room.
This should have been my belt,” Glazkov said. “I already had him figured out. I slipped and felt a sharp pain in my right knee and felt it give it out. I’m very upset. I want a rematch when I recover.

A wadanda ba talabijin mataki, Brooklyn ta Adamu Kownacki (13-0, 10 Kos) thrilled the hometown crowd with an exciting and dominant victory over Danny Kelly (9-2-1, 8 Kos). The Polish-born fighter used precise hooks and devastating uppercuts to earn the unanimous decision by scores of 80-72 sau biyu, da kuma 79-73.
Undefeated Notre Dame alum Mike Lee (16-0, 10 Kos) was sharp in his cruiserweight outing as he stopped Joseph Gardner (11-9-1, 1 KO) 43 seconds cikin zagaye uku. Lee dropped his opponent twice in round three before finishing the bout in round four.

A nan shi ne abin da mayakan ya ce Talata:

DEONTAY wilder

I’m just happy to be here in New York. There’s so much great history, especially in the heavyweight division, in this city so I’m really happy about the opportunity. It’s the media capital of the word and I get to fight at Barclays Center. It’s an exciting time.

“2016 is going to be a huge year for Deontay Wilder. The fans are going to be very excited and impressed with what I do this year. I’m not playing around. My goal is to be the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world and whoever has those belts is going to have to deal with me.

We’re on a mission. Everything that has happened has been planned. Everything seems to happen at the right time in my career and my life. I was meant to do this. Boxing was my calling in life.

I consider myself the most athletic heavyweight in the division today. I’ve surrounded myself with good people and they’ve helped me get to this place where I am now. I’m happy for it.

I’m from Tuscaloosa just like the Alabama Crimson Tide and they call Tuscaloosa ‘Home of the Champions. There’s no better place to be a champion and I’m very proud of the National Champs.

I’m happy that Szpilka got this opportunity. I’m sure he’s excited and overwhelmed. Most fighters don’t get this kind of chance. At the end of the day though, he’s never faced a fighter like me.

I’m mobile and agile. My accuracy and my power is the best out there. Artur Szpilka is in for a world of pain.

“2016 ne shekara. I mean what I say. I feel it inside of me. Szpilka says he’s ready but he’s just trying to promote himself. I really mean what I say.

This is big for me. Being in New York and making history, that’s a dream come true. I’ve been looking to come to Brooklyn for a long time to display my talent. Barclays Center needs a face and I’m looking to make it a home away from home.

Artur PIN

“Ina so in zama zakaran ajin masu nauyi na farko na Poland a duniya. Na shirya. This is important for Poland and my Polish fans.

Wilder is very tough. He’s tall and strong. This is boxing. He’s human. I know I can beat him. He makes mistakes and I know what I have to do. I know him. I’ve studied him and I see what he does badly.

“Ba zan iya jira ba. This is so important because the Polish people have supported me so well. I know I will be a hero after the fight. I know it and I believe it. Only four days.

This opportunity to fight for a title and on SHOWTIME is something great. I’m here to make history.

Charles Martin

Getting to this point is very exciting but it will feel even sweeter when I walk out of that ring with the belt a ranar Asabar. Heavyweight boxing is back.

I’m going to go out there on my A-game. I’m going to box and I’m going to show off my power for everyone.

We want to go in there and figure this guy out. We’re going to break through the barrier and end up on the other side a world champion.

I’ve been doing my normal work in camp. We had some great sparring that got me ready for Asabar dare.

I’m not one to talk except when the media brings it out of me, but I definitely prefer to let my hands do the talking.

“Ina jin kyau sosai. Na shirya. My body is coming back stronger after training in Big Bear, California.

This is the heavyweight division. One punch can change anything. I’m coming to be the IBF World Champion.

VYACHESLAV GLAZKOV

I’m only going to pay attention to what’s going on in the ring. If I relax I will be successful.

I would like to take care of this bout and then work on unifying all the titles.

My opponent has some skills but I have faced the better opposition. Power alone does not win a fight.

I was always more successful fighting the bigger guys, so I am not worried about his size.

My sparring partners were all perfect in preparing me for this fight. I am very confident in my preparation and it will show a ranar Asabar dare.

I’ve seen some video of him. He’s definitely a tall guy. I’ve prepared especially for my opponent and anything he can do in the ring.

AMANDA SERRANO

I don’t care who I’m fighting. I want that belt. No one is going to take it away from me. I’m promising a night of fireworks.

“Zan yi yãƙi wani. I’m a fighter at heart. I want all the world titles. I want to be an undisputed champion. Whoever they put in front me, I’m taking down.

It’s an honor to fight at Barclays Center. I’m so thankful to have this opportunity. 2016 is going to be the year of Latino boxing.

I’m thankful for everyone who has supported me and if you stay with me I promise you’ll never be disappointed.

JULIAN SOSA

“Wannan shi ne babban damar a gare ni a ranar Asabar night and I’m really looking forward to fighting on a big stage like at Barclays Center.

I have big goals in this sport and I know that every single fight is very important to do your best. I’ve trained very hard to get into this position and I’m not going to let it slip by me.

No matter who is put in front of me, I want to excite the fans. I’m going to come forward and get the knockout.

Ivan GOLUB

I’m very excited to fight on such a big card at Barclays Center. It’s the first heavyweight title fights in Brooklyn in 115 years and I’m proud to be a part of that night.

I think I’m going to have to box this guy. Everyone wants to win by knockout and if all goes to plan, that’s what we’ll see.
