ORENBURG, Krievija (Maijs 27, 2017) – A new M-1 Challenge lightweight champion was crowned last night as Damir Ismagulov knocked out former champion Maksima Divnich at the end of the fifth and final championship round in the M-1 Challenge 78 main event at Orenburg, Krievija.
M-1 Challenge 78 was a true international event with fighters representing eight different countries: Krievija, Brazīlija, Baltkrievija, ASV, UK, Zviedrija, Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan.
Ismagulov (11-2-0, M-1: 7-1-0), fighting out of Russia by way of Kazakhstan, fought Divnich (13-3-0, M-1: 7-3-0) mājās, Orenburgas, for the vacant M-1 Challenge lightweight title, where Divnich had lost his title belt in 2015.

A three-time Bellator champion, Shlemenko (55-9-0. 1 NC, M-1: 5-0-0) spoiled the M-1 Global debut of former Ring of Combat champion Bradley (23-8-0, M-1: 0-1-0), fighting out of San Diego, by way of a three-round unanimous decision in the main event of the evening. Shlemenko, who last year captured the M-1 Grand Prix Middleweight Championship, remained undefeated in M-1 Global competition.

ST. PETERSBURG, Krievija (Janvāris 27, 2017) – American MMA veteran Paul “Gentleman” Bradley has stepped up to meet the awesome challenge presented by 2016 M-1 Grand Prix middleweight champion Alexander “Vētra” Shlemenko in the March 3rd M-1 Challenge 75 main event in Moscow.

A three-time Bellator champion, Shlemenko (54-9-0. 1 NC, M-1: 4-0-0) sakāva bijušo M-1 Challenge čempions Vjačeslavs Vasilevskis last year in the M-1 Grand Prix Middleweight Championship semifinals and championship final, attiecīgi, by three-round majority decision and third-round submission (aizrīties). Shlemenko vs. Vasilevsky I & II were also the M-1 Challenge 68 & 64 Fights of the Night.
Former Ring of Combat champion Bradley (23-7-0, M-1: 0-0-0) will be making his M-1 Challenge debut, tomēr, he’s a seasoned MMA veteran having fought in the UFC, Strikeforce, Bellator un World Series of Fighting.
The 33-year-old Bradley, fighting out of San Diego (Kalifornija), was a standout wrestler at the powerhouse University of Iowa. He is known for his physical strength, tremendous endurance, and balanced stand-up and ground skills.
Undefeated M-1 Challenge welterweight champion Aleksejs Kunchenko (15-0-0, M-1: 7-0-0), Krievijas, will defend his title in the co-feature against Maksin Grabovich (5-2-0, M-1: 4-0-0), Krievijas, who replaced injured Kazakh challenger Shaukat Rakhmonov (7-0-0, M-1: 4-0-0).
Russian welterweight prospect Sergey “StreetfighterRomanov (10-1-0, M-1: 3-0-0) meets Russian veteran Magomeds “White Wolf” Sultanakhmedov (18-5-0, M-1: 10-1-0), while another American fighter, viegls KeonThe Black Assassin” Caldwell (11-3-0, M-1: 0-0-0), will make his M-1 Global debut against former M-1 Challenge lightweight champion Maksima Divnich (12-2-0, M-1: 6-2-0), Ukrainas.

It has also been announced that American lightweight KeonThe Black Assassin” Caldwell will make his M-1 Global debut versus former M-1 Challenge lightweight champion Maksima Divnich.

Shlemenko (54-9-0. 1 NC, M-1: 4-0-0), a three-time Bellator champion, sakāva bijušo M-1 Challenge čempions Vjačeslavs Vasilevskis (see picture above with Shlemenko on right) last year in the M-1 Grand Prix Middleweight Championship semifinals and championship final, attiecīgi, by three-round majority decision and third-round submission (aizrīties). In a much-anticipated All-Russian middleweight showdown, Shlemenko was supposed to fight reigning M-1 Challenge middleweight champion Ramadāns Emeev, who was unfortunately injured during training camp, forcing him out of that match. Vasilevsky replaced Emeev against Shlemenko in the championship final.

A powerful puncher who has nine knockouts in his 11 pro victories, Caldwell was supposed to compete in the 13th season of Ultimate Fighter, but he withdrew due to personal reasons. He has had several fights in World Series of Fighting.
A Ukrainian fighting out of Moscow, Divnich captured the vacant M-1 Challenge lightweight title in 2014 pie M-1 Challenge 54, apstāšanās Dzhambulat Kurbanov in the third round on punches in the Fight of the Night. Uz 2015, Divnich lost his first title defense by third-round knockout to Mansour Barnaoui pie M-1 Challenge 57. Memphis (Oktobris. 21, 2016) – The most decorated middleweight in Bellator history, Alexander Shlemenko (54-9, 1NC) returned to the cagešovakar in a big way against Kendall Grove (23-16). The first round saw aggressive back and forth action with each fighter getting rocked. Shlemenko successfully utilized powerful spinning backfists and heelkicks to close the distance on the 6’6 Hawaiian. “The Storm” stalked Grove throughout the cage before ultimately connecting with a nasty combo that saw a left hand to the liver, followed by a right hand to the chin, sending his towering opponent to the mat. Shlemenko followed up with a barrage of strikes to “Da Spyda” before “Big John” McCarthy waved the fight off at 1:43 no otrā rāmja.

 

 

Lashley sinks in a rear-naked choke to end Appelt’s night in round two

 

Bobby Lashley (15-2) continued to live up to his nickname of “The Dominator” as he tossed his opponent, Josh Appelt (12-6) to the mat at will. Throughout the first round, Lashley jockeyed for position as he rained down punches while trying to lock in a submission in front of his friend from his days as a WWE Superstar, Jerry “The King” Lawler, who watched from his cage side seat. Appelt landed a couple strikes to start the second frame before being slammed to the mat and ultimately submitted with a one-armed rear-naked choke at 1:43 of Round 2.

 

 

 

Yamauchi finishes Couture with armbar submission just one minute into bout

The 23-year-old submission specialist Yamauchi up (20-3) uzvarēta Ryan Couture (10-5) via arm bar submission just 1:01 atverē kārtā. Making his lightweight debut, Yamauchi becomes the first opponent to submit Couture over his 15-fight career. The win gives the Brazilian-Japanese prospect 20 total over his career, including five since joining the Scott Coker-led promotion back in 2013. The slick arm bar marks the 16th submission victory for Yamauchi, 13 of which have come in the first frame.

 

 

Kato scores TKO victory over Matthews

 

The first televised fight of the evening featured two highly gifted strikers in A.J. Matthews (8-6), a muay-Thai practitioner and Hisaki Kato(7-2), who holds a black belt in Kyokushin Karate. Both fighters exchanged great combinations throughout the entirety of the first round, with Matthews even wobbling Kato halfway through the frame. but was unable to capitalize, allowing Kato to regain his composure. A break in the action because of an accidental eye poke to Matthews allowed Kato to completely recover, and when the fight continued, Kato utilized his right kick to the body-left hand to the dome combination to send Matthews to the canvas, pouncing with a flurry of punches forcing the referee to call a stop to the action at 4:58 no pirmā rāmja.
