ORENBURG, Rusia (Maio 27, 2017) – A new M-1 Challenge lightweight champion was crowned last night as Damir Ismagulov knocked out former champion Maxim Divnich at the end of the fifth and final championship round in the M-1 Desafío 78 main event at Orenburg, Rusia.
M-1 Desafío 78 was a true international event with fighters representing eight different countries: Rusia, Brasil, Bielorrusia, EUA, Reino Unido, Suecia, Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan.
Ismagulov (11-2-0, M-1: 7-1-0), fighting out of Russia by way of Kazakhstan, fought Divnich (13-3-0, M-1: 7-3-0) no país, en Orenburg, for the vacant M-1 Challenge lightweight title, where Divnich had lost his title belt in 2015.

ST. PETERSBURG, Rusia (Xaneiro 27, 2017) – American MMA veteran Paul “The Gentleman” Bradley has stepped up to meet the awesome challenge presented by 2016 M-1 Grand Prix middleweight champion Alexander “Tempestade” Shlemenko in the March 3rd M-1 Desafío 75 main event in Moscow.

A three-time Bellator champion, Shlemenko (54-9-0. 1 NC, M-1: 4-0-0) derrotou o ex-campión do M-1 Challenge Vyacheslav Vasilevsky last year in the M-1 Grand Prix Middleweight Championship semifinals and championship final, respectivamente, by three-round majority decision and third-round submission (afogador). Shlemenko vs. Vasilevsky I & II were also the M-1 Desafío 68 & 64 Fights of the Night.
Former Ring of Combat champion Bradley (23-7-0, M-1: 0-0-0) will be making his M-1 Challenge debut, con todo, he’s a seasoned MMA veteran having fought in the UFC, Strikeforce, Bellator e World Series of Fighting.
The 33-year-old Bradley, fighting out of San Diego (California), was a standout wrestler at the powerhouse University of Iowa. He is known for his physical strength, tremendous endurance, and balanced stand-up and ground skills.

It has also been announced that American lightweight KeonThe Black AssassinCaldwell will make his M-1 Global debut versus former M-1 Challenge lightweight champion Maxim Divnich.

Shlemenko (54-9-0. 1 NC, M-1: 4-0-0), a three-time Bellator champion, derrotou o ex-campión do M-1 Challenge Vyacheslav Vasilevsky (see picture above with Shlemenko on right) last year in the M-1 Grand Prix Middleweight Championship semifinals and championship final, respectivamente, by three-round majority decision and third-round submission (afogador). In a much-anticipated All-Russian middleweight showdown, Shlemenko was supposed to fight reigning M-1 Challenge middleweight champion Ramadan Emeev, who was unfortunately injured during training camp, forcing him out of that match. Vasilevsky replaced Emeev against Shlemenko in the championship final.

A powerful puncher who has nine knockouts in his 11 pro victories, Caldwell was supposed to compete in the 13th season of The Ultimate Fighter, but he withdrew due to personal reasons. He has had several fights in World Series of Fighting.
A Ukrainian fighting out of Moscow, Divnich captured the vacant M-1 Challenge lightweight title in 2014 en M-1 Desafío 54, parada Dzhambulat Kurbanov in the third round on punches in the Fight of the Night. Memphis (Outubro. 21, 2016) – The most decorated middleweight in Bellator history, Alexander Shlemenko (54-9, 1NC) returned to the cageesta noite in a big way against Kendall Grove (23-16). The first round saw aggressive back and forth action with each fighter getting rocked. Shlemenko successfully utilized powerful spinning backfists and heelkicks to close the distance on the 6’6 Hawaiian. “The Storm” stalked Grove throughout the cage before ultimately connecting with a nasty combo that saw a left hand to the liver, followed by a right hand to the chin, sending his towering opponent to the mat. Shlemenko followed up with a barrage of strikes to “Da Spyda” before “Big John” McCarthy waved the fight off at 1:43 do segundo cadro.

 

 

Lashley sinks in a rear-naked choke to end Appelt’s night in round two

 

Bobby Lashley (15-2) continued to live up to his nickname of “The Dominator” as he tossed his opponent, Josh Appelt (12-6) to the mat at will. Throughout the first round, Lashley jockeyed for position as he rained down punches while trying to lock in a submission in front of his friend from his days as a WWE Superstar, Jerry “The King” Lawler, who watched from his cage side seat. Appelt landed a couple strikes to start the second frame before being slammed to the mat and ultimately submitted with a one-armed rear-naked choke at 1:43 of Round 2.

 

 

 

Yamauchi finishes Couture with armbar submission just one minute into bout

The 23-year-old submission specialist Yamauchi-se (20-3) derrotado Ryan Couture (10-5) via arm bar submission just 1:01 na rolda de apertura. Making his lightweight debut, Yamauchi becomes the first opponent to submit Couture over his 15-fight career. The first televised fight of the evening featured two highly gifted strikers in A.J. Matthews (8-6), a muay-Thai practitioner and Hisaki Kato(7-2), who holds a black belt in Kyokushin Karate. Both fighters exchanged great combinations throughout the entirety of the first round, with Matthews even wobbling Kato halfway through the frame. but was unable to capitalize, allowing Kato to regain his composure. A break in the action because of an accidental eye poke to Matthews allowed Kato to completely recover, and when the fight continued, Kato utilized his right kick to the body-left hand to the dome combination to send Matthews to the canvas, pouncing with a flurry of punches forcing the referee to call a stop to the action at 4:58 do primeiro cadro.
