Marie-Eve will fight in the first women’s world title bout in Quebec’s history.

 

 

 

The 31-year-old Namus, fighting out of South America, signed the contract this past Tuesday to defend her crown against Dicaire in the co-featured event on the card headlined by the World Boxing Council (WBC) and lineal light heavyweight world championship bout between Άδωνις Στίβενσον και αμφισβητίας Oleksandr Gvozdyk, adding some spice to an already red-hot card.

 

 

 

Namus, nicknamed “El Bombon Asesino”, has been IBF champion since 2017, when she defeated Argentina’s Yamila Esther Reynoso για τον κενό τίτλο. She has since defended her belt once, against her compatriot, Katia Alvarino.

MARIE-EVE DICAIRE

 

 

 

Marie-Eve Dicaire has been in the fighting sports since a very young age. Στο μόνο 6 ετών, karate captivated her. She obtained a μαύρη ζώνη and won a Canadian Championship before even being 11 year-old.

In her most recent performance on June 15, she completely dominated the tough regional champion of Tijuana Alejandra Ayala.

“My short-range goal in boxing is to win my second gold medal at the Youth Olympics. Long-range is to qualify and win a gold medal at the 2020 Ολυμπιακοί Αγώνες, and then turn pro and become world champion.”

“I’ve had a good year,” she admitted. (she also won a gold medal at this year’s Youth Continental Championships) “I’ve also traveled to Taiwan, Hungary and now Argentina.”

 

 

 

Heaven can’t wait to capture her third gold medal at a 2018 International tournament.

Back in April this year Emily Pugh made her professional debut, and boy oh boy did she do it in style. Emily and her opponent Jelizaveta Cerkasova, who was also making her pro debut, put on a master-class.

Emily Pugh versus Veronika Sirajeva is a support bout for the Ross Doherty versus Gvido Seilis for the World Boxing League (WBL) and European Boxing League (EBL) European Welterweight Championships, that co-headlines with the Nathan Decastro versus Agoe Ashong, for the Professional Boxing Council (PBC) Commonwealth Super Middleweight Championship contest on the Daniel Gray promoted event at Pride Park in Derby on Saturday 29th September 2018.

Selina Barrios Retains NABF Lightweight Title with Dominating Unanimous Decision Over Patricia Juarez

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (Σεπτέμβριος 22, 2018) – Tonight at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi, TX, San Antonio’s female boxing sensation, Selina “Αζτέκων Queen” Γειτονιές (5-0, 2 KOs), remained undefeated with a dominating 10-round unanimous decision victory over Patricia Juarez (4-1), sister of WBC Bantamweight champion, Μαριάνα “Μπάρμπι” Χουάρες (50-9-4, 13 KOs). In the early rounds, both fighters were very active, throwing a lot of punches, but Barrios was the one landing the cleaner shots. Although Juarez was doing her best to box from the outside using a one-two combo, her power wasn’t enough to keep Barrios off her as she kept coming forward, landing her signature overhand right. Barrios hurt Juarez in round five, knocking her mouthpiece out with right hook, forcing the referee to stop the action momentarily. Juarez recovered but never was able to stop Barrios from coming forward as she continued to land thumping power shots. A clash of head butts cut Barrios on the forehead during the middle rounds, but she was never bothered by them. In the later rounds, Barrios continued to apply pressure, forcing Juarez to fight on the inside. Originally from Australia and now fighting out of Miami, FL at the Famous 5ουStreet Gym, Mathie is a globally recognized swimsuit model. She won Miss Hawaiian Tropic Australia in 2012, ο 2014 Miss Swimsuit USA International as well as the 2015 Las Vegas International Model Search. Mathie however is more than just a pretty face.

 

 

 

The 31-year-old Mathie had 20 amateur boxing matches between her native Australia and the US. During her amateur career, Mathie regularly fought more experienced opponents and did so in a number of different weight classes while still winning most of her fights.

 

 

 

Mathie turned pro this past February and her record stands at 2-0 with both victories coming via first round KO’s. Her next opponent however is a significant step up in competition.

 

 

 

Born and raised in Dallas, TX, Salazar has a 5-5-1 record and is riding a three-fight win streak. She’s faced stiff competition including bouts against former Olympian Marlen Esparza, highly-touted Rosalinda Rodriguez and Casey Morton, all of whom are undefeated.

 

 

 

“I’ve watched some footage on her,” Mathie said of Salazar. “She’s a decent fighter but I’ve seen weaknesses that I intend to exploit.”

 

 

 

Mathie-Salazar is scheduled for six rounds and is for the ABF bantamweight title.

 

 

 

“We are proud to have Avril and also St. Petersburg’s very own Noemi Bosques fighting on October 6,” said Jody Caliguire of Fire Fist Boxing Promotions. “This is going to be an excellent night of boxing and I expect both women to shine.”

SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING COUNTDOWN, the network’s seventh social media offering of live boxing in 2018, is available to all domestic users with internet access. The livestream is hosted by Ray Flores with Chris Mannix serving as analyst.

Serrano (34-1-1, 26 KOs), who is already the only woman to win titles in five weight classes, is looking to best her personal record. Born in Carolina, Puerto Rico and representing her hometown of Brooklyn, Serrano has won titles from 118 να 135 λίρες, earning her the No. 2 ranking on the BWAA’s inaugural women’s pound-for-pound list.
