Romanov has had impressive victories in M-1 Challenge competition, including a decision over against Brazilian foe Carlos Pereira last October at ಎಂ 1 ಚಾಲೆಂಜ್ 71, as well as a first-round stoppage via punches of Andreas Birgels this past June at ಎಂ 1 ಚಾಲೆಂಜ್ 68.

“I’ve been working on my strength,” Romanov said from his training camp, “because the champion in my weight class, ಅಲೆಕ್ಸೆಯ್ Kunchenko, is physically strong. I need to catch up. Russian middleweight Gamzat Hiramagomedov and light heavyweight Magomed Ankalayev are repeat world champions.

In team scoring, Asian team champion Kazakhstan won two Silver and four Bronze medals, Ukraine two Silver and two Bronze, Czech Republic one Silver and two Bronze, Chinas one Silver and two Bronze, Kyrgyzstan two Bronze, and one Bronze for France, ಭಾರತ, Spain and Moldova.
