Brendan Battles is a native of Eastham, Massachusetts on Cape Cod. There, he was a three-time All American wrestler for Nauset Regional High School. During his high school career, Battles captured a total of two state championships and three New England championships with an amazing 161 wins to his credit prior to graduating in 2012. A multi-sport athlete, he later played defensive end and tackle for the University of Connecticut. Battles made his NEF debut earlier this year at “NEF 21: THE IMMORTALS” when he efficiently dispatched of Mike Hansen’s Berserkers teammate, David Smith (2-2) in the first round via TKO ref stoppage. Battles trains out of Gracie Fitness and is a member of Team Juniko based out of Hyannis.

 

“I look forward to Mike coming down to my backyard for my first professional fight,” said Battles. “I know he is a tough fighter, but I look forward to showcasing the skills I have acquired thus far as I continue my journey to become a well-rounded MMA fighter.”

BEIJING, CHINA – A welterweight matchup between UFC and Bellator veteran Waylon Lowe and British Mixed Martial Artist Ashleigh Grimshaw will headline Art of War 17 this Saturday night in Beijing China. Grimshaw is late replacements for UFC vet Junior Assuncao who suffered a training injury and had to pull out of his fight with Lowe on short notice last week.

Said Lowe, a three time NCAA wrestling champion who is currently 16-6 as a professional fighter, “It’s unfortunate that Junior had to drop out of the fight but I’m glad the promoters found another high caliber opponent for me to face. Ashleigh Grimshaw and I will put on a great show for all the Chinese MMA fans on April 30th Art of War 17.”

PETERSBURG, Rusia (Abril 28, 2016) – M-1 Global has announced a blockbuster M-1 Desafío 68 event as Ramadán Emeev y Alejandro “Tormenta” Shlemenko battle in the M-1 Global Grand Prix Middleweight Championship, while M-1 Challenge heavyweight champion Alejandro “Drago” Volkov makes his first title defense against Atila “Pumuklo” Vegh, Jueves noche, Junio 16, at Yubileyny Sports Palace in St. Petersburgo, Rusia.

Emeev (14-3-0, M-1: 8-1-0), fighting out of Russia by way of Daguestán, is the reigning M-1 Challenge middleweight champion, although his title belt will not be at stake against Shlemenko. MONTE CARLO, Mónaco (Abril 26, 2016) — La Asociación Mundial de MMA (WMMAA) ha anunciado que Chile es el miembro más nuevo de su asociación mundial.
La Federación Chilena de MMA (Federación Chilena de MMA) está certificado por el Ministerio de Deportes nacional. Su estructura interna estará compuesta por 15 ramas, representando uno para cada región de Chile. Actualmente hay ocho organizaciones de MMA con el objetivo de unir a todas bajo el paraguas de la Federación..
La Federación ha desarrollado MMA de varias formas., desde organizar campeonatos regionales de MMA amateur hasta realizar seminarios y educar a los oficiales. La Federación Chilena de MMA está encabezada por el presidente Alberto Maturana Rodriguez y vicepresidente Christian Parra Campos.
“Es fundamental que exista una organización como la nuestra, para agregar una estructura imparcial no solo para los atletas, sino también como organismos reguladores,” Rodríguez (en la foto a la derecha) dicho. “Mucho sigue sucediendo desde nuestro nombramiento. Acabamos de celebrar nuestro primer evento bajo la División Panamericana de la WMMAA y esperamos usar nuestra experiencia y volúmenes de conocimiento en la División Panamericana., así como nuestro presidente honorario Tomas Yu,trae a Chile y el deporte. Compartimos la visión y con todos nuestros esfuerzos, defenderemos, promover y respaldar las MMA como deporte, y brindar a todos los participantes y fanáticos una diferencia significativa en el deporte.
“Continuaremos creciendo con cada nuevo país y tomaremos el movimiento MMA., así como el reconocimiento del MMA como deporte, adelante. Chile ahora es miembro de la División Panamericana de la WMMAA, junto con argentina, Brasil, Canadá, Colombia, Cuba, Guatemala, México, Nicaragua, Paraguay y Venezuela.

NEW CHAMPIONS CROWNED AT NEF 22 En Lewiston

Lewiston, Maine (Abril 23, 2016) - Luchas de Nueva Inglaterra (NEF), Número uno de la promoción de lucha regional de América, celebró su evento más reciente, “NEF 22: TODOS LOS CAMINOS CONDUCEN AQUÍ,” Sábado por la noche en el Androscoggin Bank Colisée en Lewiston, Maine. Más que 3,000 fight fans were on hand for the event, making it one of the largest crowds ever to witness an NEF event.

 

En la parte de boxeo de la tarjeta, Brandon “El Cañón” Berry (11-1-1) fought to a majority draw in a six-round contest with James Lester (10-9-1). Many of Berry’s supporters in attendance felt that he won the fight, but two of the judges had it even on the scorecards.

 

The headliner of the amateur MMA card saw Caleb Salón (7-3) captured the vacant amateur featherweight title with a second-round submission of Erik Nelson (2-3). On the professional side of the MMA card, Devin Powell (6-1) took home the lightweight championship by defeating Jesse Erickson (6-5) in the first round via technical knockout.
