Bantamweights prestes a roubar o show AT NEF XVIII

PARA DIVULGAÇÃO IMEDIATA: Lewiston, Maine (Abril 30, 2015) - Fights Nova Inglaterra (NEF), Número um promoção luta regional da América, vai realizar suas XVIII mistas-de artes marciais (MMA) evento, “NEF XVIII: Feito na América,” em Sábado, Junho 13, 2015 no Colisee Androscoggin Bank em Lewiston, Maine. Hoje cedo, a promoção anunciou a adição de uma luta de boxe profissional para o cartão da luta. O concurso contará com Elias “Danger Mouse” Leland (2-1) pisando o oposto gaiola Chade “Metralhadora” Kelly (3-2) no limite galo de 135 libras-.

 

“Chad Kelly e Eli Leland são dois caras que não poderia colocar em uma luta chata se tentassem,” disse NEF co-proprietário e promotor Nick DiSalvo. “Chad teve a 'Luta da Noite’ em uma das primeiras cartas que eu já promovido em anos Massachusetts atrás. Eu tenho seguido a sua carreira desde então e ter visto o quão longe ele veio. Lutas de Eli sempre roubar o show sobre os acontecimentos NEF. SANTA MONICA, Califa. (Abril 28, 2015) – Due to a knee injury sustained by title challenger Georgi Karakhanyan, Bellator MMA Pena Campeão do Mundo Patricio Pitbull (23-2) will now face German submission ace Daniel “The Weasel” Weichel (35-8) in the co-main event of “Bellator: Unfinished Business,” que ocorre Sexta-feira, Junho 19 em St. Louis’ Scottrade Center.

The 27-year-old “Pitbull,” of Natal, Brasil, is a 13-time veteran of the promotion who captured the Bellator MMA Featherweight World Title with a September win over then-champion Pat Curran. “Pitbull” then defended his belt in January with a thrilling submission win over former champion Daniel Straus. Lewiston, Maine (Abril 28, 2015) - Fights Nova Inglaterra (NEF), Número um promoção luta regional da América, vai realizar suas XVIII mistas-de artes marciais (MMA) evento, “NEF XVIII: Feito na América,” em Sábado, Junho 13, 2015 no Colisee Androscoggin Bank em Lewiston, Maine. Hoje cedo, a promoção anunciou a adição de um ataque leve amador para o cartão da luta. Essa luta contará com Jason “Segunda chance” Lachance (1-1) taking on the returning “Dangerous” Dom “Mãos de pedra” Cofone (5-5) com um peso de combate de 155 libras-.

 

Jason Lachance of Brunswick, Maine made his MMA debut in May of 2014 em “XIII NEF.” He dropped a decision that night, but Lachance impressed many with his performance against the more-experienced Jarrod Tyler (3-1). He would return to the NEF cage this past February with a victory over Steve Bang, Jr. (3-3) por decisão unânime. Lachance is a product of Ryan Cowette’s (2-2) MMA Athletix gym and Victory Church ministry, both located in Bath, Maine.

 

“God has blessed me with another opportunity to step inside the NEF cage and do what I love to do,” disse Lachance. “An opportunity I am truly grateful for. I am focused on the task at hand and on June 13th, I will be ready for whatever comes my way.”

 

A true veteran of the NEF amateur ranks, Dom Cofone has produced many memorable moments in the promotion’s cage over the years. Cofone won a Class A State Championship in 2001 wrestling for Westbrook High School in Westbrook, Maine. He put together a stellar record of 117-28 during his high school wrestling career. Cofone has taken the last few months off from MMA competition to concentrate on coaching the Westbrook youth wrestling team. With his previous gym, Balanced Ground MMA, on hiatus, Cofone has recently begun training at Jay Jack (12-7) and Amanda Buckner’s (11-5) Academy of MMA in Portland, Maine.

 

“I took some time off to help coach my son’s youth wrestling team – shout out to all the Westbrook Wolfpack kids,” said Cofone. “I also needed to heal up a bit from a very active two years in and out of the cage. I’m feeling rejuvenated. I just started training back at the Academy and am super excited to learn as much as I can from such a great team. I’ve met Jason before – he seems like a really great guy. I was at both of his fights, so I know he’s going to be a tough-as-nails, game opponent. I was in the stands for the last NEF event and it just didn’t seem right without ‘Dominick The Donkey’ ringing out of the speakers. This is a great match-up for the fans and I hope to see the Androscoggin Bank Colisee packed. Thank you to everyone who comes out to support local MMA.”

SANTA MONICA, Califa. (Abril 27, 2015) – June’s blockbuster “Bellator: Unfinished Business” event is getting a little local flavor, as two new preliminary contests feature fighters from “The Show Me State.”

 

The new all-Missouri contests include lightweights Malcolm Smith (4-4) vs. Luke Nelson (2-1) e pesos-médios Kain Royer(1-1) vs. Enrique Watson (1-0).

A five-time Shamrock FC veteran, Smith makes his Bellator MMA debut as he looks to rebound from a split-decision loss to Cory Hunter in March. Prior to the disappointing result, Smith foi 4-1 in his previous five fights – a run that included two TKO victories and one submission.

 

Smith now meets three-time Shamrock FC fighter Nelson, who turned pro in December 2013 and also competes under the Bellator MMA banner for the first time. Nelson has earned both of his career wins to date via first-round stoppage, while his lone career loss went the distance, when he came up just short via split decision.

 

Royer and Watson have also spent the early stages of their professional careers competing exclusively under the Shamrock FC banner.

 

A submission specialist, Royer built an impressive amateur record fighting on Missouri’s regional scene before turning professional in 2013. Fox realizes that he and Veinott are not the same fighters who stepped into the cage for the first time on that balmy night in the summer of 2013.

 

“Normally I don’t like rematches, but Dustin and I have grown as fighters so anything can happen,” said Fox when reached for comment. “Once they lock the cage door, it’s all in God’s hands.”

Lewiston, Maine (Abril 23, 2015) – It sounds like the plotline of a two-star 1980s action flick. This story, contudo, is not playing out on basic cable on a weekday afternoon. With numerous state and regional wrestling titles as a competitor and coach to his credit, he made his MMA debut as a member of Young’s MMA in 2014.

As a result of training with Central Maine Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (CMBJJ), every move, every combination, every strike is dealt with the intent to finish and that may be in the first round. I definitely respect him and I’m sure we will be great friends but right now, he’s just got something that doesn’t belong to him. I am actually very thankful to Pat. In response to those who have tried to reconcile the dichotomy of my life, I maintain that this has always been a part of my life at some level. Making the leap into the MMA venue, contudo, was huge and the stakes are high. It took a while before the time was right and even then, I didn’t recognize it until I watched Steven and Pat fight. There is nothing like watching your son battle while you are only feet away and helpless. As stressful as it is to prepare for and execute your own battle, it is ten times worse for me to watch them. The 26-year-old Honeycutt is a two-time NCAA Division I All-American wrestler out of Edinboro University. Following his collegiate wrestling career, which ended with a runner-up finish in the 2012 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championship, Honeycutt enlisted the help of fellow Edinboro wrestler Josh Koscheck and now trains at the longtime MMA veteran’s Dethrone Base Camp in Fresno, Califa.

 

Honeycutt made his Bellator MMA debut in September 2014, scoring a TKO victory over Aaron Wilkinson. He picked up his second win for the promotion in February, scoring a TKO win over Clayton MacFarlane.

 

The 31-year-old Bradley is an Iowa native who also earned a pair of NCAA Division I All-American honors while competing at the famed University of Iowa. Bradley turned to MMA in 2006 and earned 11 consecutive victories to open his career, picking up the Ring of Combat middleweight title along the way.

 

Bradley made his way to the Bellator MMA cage in 2013, and in three appearances to date, he has picked up decision victories over Josh Neer and Karl Amoussou. While Bradley’s base is firmly entrenched in wrestling, he’s developed into a complete martial artist during his time in the sport and now owns seven of his career wins by knockout with another seven coming by way of submission.
