Musgrave (14-4) is riding a considerable wave of momentum coming into this title fight. In his most recent outing, “The Spazmanian Devilscored a dominant first round TKO win over four-time UFC vet and jiu-jitsu black belt Alvin Robinson at RFA 22 in January. The win took place in Musgrave’s hometown of Colorado Springs, Colorado and extended his winning streak to four fights in a row. The former U.S. Army Ranger has won six of seven fights over the last two and a half years and he is eager to bring home a title that he has had his eyes on for awhile.
I’ve asked for it, I’ve waited for it, and now it’s finally here,” Musgrave said about his RFA title shot. “Everyone at Pariah MMA in Colorado Springs is excited about this and our gym is about to be put on the map. Barcelos is a tough kid, very aggressive, and a worthy opponent. I’m excited to get in there and fight.
Barcelos (8-1) also returns to the RFA octagon fresh off a scintillating first round finish. The win came via KO over the previously undefeated NCAA Division I All-American wrestler Jamal Parks at RFA 23 in February. The bout was the Brazilian dynamo’s third for the promotion and he was able to showcase his well-rounded skill set in devastating fashion. On top of his tremendous KO power, Barcelos is a world class jiu-jitsu black belt that began trainingthe gentle artwith his father, black-and-red belt Laerte Barcelos, when he was just two-years old. The Nova União standout now looks to add the RFA featherweight title to his lengthy list of athletic accomplishments.
I am very happy to fight for the RFA world title,” stated Barcelos. “RFA is an event that has been showing a lot of talent for the world to see. I’m sure with this fight I will have the opportunity to be recognized for my work. It’s a dream come true and an honor to be a champion of a great event like the RFA.
The co-main event of RFA 29 will feature two welterweight MMA prospects, who are quickly rising the ranks of a historically deep division. The first is one of the most beloved fighters in the state of South Dakota. That would be none other than Jordon Larson (6-1), who was born and raised in Sioux Falls, but currently trains out of Power MMA in Gilbert, Arizona. Larson has been the recipient of two of the loudest ovations in RFA history and will be looking for his third onAugust 21st. He will be tasked with facing Brazilian juggernaut Ackson Junior (5-0), who trains out of the famed X-Gym in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. “Tank Russohas been sensational fighting inside of his home continent of South America. He has stopped all five men he has faced with only one of those bouts lasting more than one round.

RFA 29 will also feature the biggest and most important women’s MMA bout to ever take place in the state of South Dakota. RFA fan favorite Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger (5-1) will be the female representative for Team USA. Jones-Lybarger has won all three of her fights in the RFA since making her debut for the promotion in 2014. The MMA LAB standout will be looking for her fourth win in the fourth different state she has fought in for the promotion. She has been given a tough assignment, which will see her clash with the highly-regarded Brazilian strawweight Kinberly Novaes (8-2). Novaes is a dynamic striker that trains under UFC and PRIDE vet Cristiano Marcello at CM System in Curitiba, Brazil. Noaves is perhaps best known for scoring a second round TKO victory over top-ranked UFC bantamweight Jessica Andrade in just her third professional fight.

FORMER MAIN EVENTER TO RETURN AFTER MORE THAN TWO YEARS

Lewiston, Maine (Lub Xya hli ntuj 17, 2015) – New England Fights (NEF), America’s number-one regional fight promotion, will hold its nineteenth mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event, “NEF XIX,” Rau hnub Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, Maine. Earlier today, the promotion announced the addition of a professional welterweight bout to the fight card. Darrius Heyliger (4-2) has signed to face Brandon Chagnon (5-4) at a fight weight of 170-pounds.

Darrius Heyliger was a regular on the main card of NEF events during the promotion’s infancy. Making the long trip from his home in Ithaca, New York several times, Heyliger built quite the fan following for himself in Maine and became one of the most popular out-of-state fighters competing in NEF. Heyliger impressed many with his victories over Jarod Lawton (4-2) and Josh Bellows (1-2). He would go on to headlineNEF VIIagainst the legendary Marcus Davis (22-11) in one of the biggest fights in NEF history. That bout, in May 2013, was the last time Heyliger would compete in NEF, or any promotion for that matter, untilNEF XIX.

I feel like the time away from the sport was needed, and I’m now ready to take over and dominate,” said Heyliger. “And to make my comeback fight in front of the Maine fans and for NEF, where the support is so strong, makes it that much better.

We’re really excited to have Darrius coming back,” said NEF co-owner and matchmaker Matt Peterson. “He’s one of those fighters the fans are always asking us to bring back. His fight with Jarod Lawton was one of the most brutal to ever take place in the NEF cage. He’ll have his work cut out for him with Brandon Chagnon though.

Brandon Chagnon began competing in MMA over seven years ago. He is a member of Mark DellaGrotte’s world-renown Sityodtong located in Somerville, Massachusetts. Chagnon is also a trainer at TITLE Boxing Club in North Andover, Massachusetts. He has won his last two fights in a row, both by submission. Like his opponent, Chagnon has not competed in quite some time, his last bout taking place in the spring of 2014. He is confident that he can defeat Heyliger on September 12 in Lewiston.

I am excited I get the chance to compete in a state I haven’t previously fought in, and in front of a new crowd who might have not had the chance to see me compete before,” said Chagnon. “This is my tenth professional MMA fight, so it is important to me to go out make a statement. I train with what is highly regarded as the best team in the northeast and they are like family to me. With them standing behind me, I know that if I fight at my full potential, I am trouble for any 170-pound fighter. From what I know, Darrius seems like a tough opponent and we have similar records on paper. However, I have no doubt in my mind that I will be walking away with another win.

New hais Fights’ next event, “NEF XIX,” takes place on Hnub vas xaum, September 12, 2015 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, Maine. The lone man to defeat Bellator Lightweight Champion Will Brooks, Awad has amassed a 6-3 record since first lacing up the gloves for the promotion in 2009. Nrog 14 of his 18 professional victories coming by way of finish, “Assassin” has generated a large Southern California fan base with his exciting fighting style.

Fighting out of Millenia MMA in Rancho Cucamonga, CA., Awad continues to work his way back towards a trilogy bout against “Ill Will” Brooks. The 32-year-old impressively defeated Rob Sinclair at Bellator 136 before suffering a leg injury that has since kept him out of action.

Awad now faces the elder brother of Bellator Featherweight Champion Patricio "Pitbull" Freire, Patricky, who has competed for Bellator MMA since 2011, amassing six victories along the way. It’s rare that “Pitbull’s” scraps reach the judges’ scorecards, nrog 10 of his 13 wins coming by way of finish.

M-1 Global President Vadim Finkelchtein: “Fedor fighting again will be a great gift to MMA fans

M-1 Global President Vadim Finkelchtein talks about Fedor’s possible match-ups and expectations from his long-awaited return to MMA

(L) Living MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko and M- Global president Vadim Finkelchtein

Were you surprised when you heard about Fedor returning to professional fighting?

VF: “Well, yes, I was surprised. I lost hope for his comeback after one or two years of negotiations. I just couldn’t do it. One time he asked me not to talk about this anymore. But about a week ago he told me that he might make a comeback. I couldn’t believe what I heard. I was happy to hear that, but the real decision he made only a couple of days ago.

Will Fedor continue his work in Russian MMA Union?

VF: “Yes, I’m sure that fighting wouldn’t become a distraction from his post of President of MMA Federation.

What did Fedor Emelianenko tell you about his possible match-ups and opponents?

VF: “There’s no definite information yet. The only thing he told me is that he needed to prepare well enough to become as dangerous as he used be. Mentally, he is ready to fight; his attitude about fighting is great. I think he has good chance to show the best version of himself.

What do you think about his next fight? When will we see it?

VF: “I can’t tell you exactly right now. I would like him to make his first fight in Russia, of course, but this is all up to him, after all. But it would be great if first he makes it for his Russian fans. They would be happy.

Will you make the third M-1 Global event with Fedor as the headliner?

VF: “I’d like that, of course. It would be awesome to make a show inOlimpiyskiylike we did when he was leaving. That show gathered 22,000 spectators and was a great present for all his fans. And then he would go abroad. This is of course is only my desire for now. I will work on it. Maybe we will make it happen.

Who do you see as his next opponent?

VF: “I think any M-1 heavyweight would accept this fight. Actually, he can face any TOP heavyweight from all over the World.

How long will Fedor be able to fight in your opinion?

VF: “I think for a couple of years, easily.

Light heavyweight contenders Maro Perak & Viktor Nemkov To headline M-1 Challenge 60 Lub yim hli ntuj 5 in Orel, Zog ntawm Guj kuj

ST. PETERSBURG, Zog ntawm Guj kuj (Lub Xya hli ntuj 15, 2015) – A pair of past M-1 Challenge championship contenders, MaroMean MachinePerak thiab Viktor Nemkov, battle yuav Lub yim hli ntuj 5 in the main event at M 1 sib tw 60 in Orel, Russia with the winner positioning himself for a potential title shot against M-1 Challenge light heavyweight champion Stephan Puetz..

Perak (R) unsuccesfuly fought Denis Smoldarev for the coveted M-1 Challenge heavyweight title earlier this year

Perak (23-5-1, 12 KO/TKO, 7 SUB), fighting out of Croatia, is coming off tough, competitive fights against two of the best heavyweights in the world, another past M-1 Challenge title challenger, Denis Smoldarev, and reigning M-1 Challenge champion Marcin Tybura.

This past February at M 1 sib tw 55, Perak lost by submission (arm-lock) to Smoldarev in the opening round. Perak’s only title fight to date was April 4, 2014, in which he was stopped in the third round by Tybura’s punches.

After his aforementioned fights, Perak decided to drop down in weight to fight as a light heavyweight. He was scheduled face Rashad Yusupov last May at M 1 sib tw 57, however, a knee surgery forced Perak out of that fight and he will instead make his M-1 light heavyweight debut versus Nemkov. Perak will be looking for his first win in M-1 Global competition, fighting for the fourth time in an event presented by the highly respected Russian promotional company.

Nemkov (on top) gave M-1Challenge light heavyweight champion Stephan Puetz all he could handle in their bout

A native of Kazakhstan, now fighting out of Belgorod, Zog ntawm Guj kuj, Nemkov (16-8-0, 9 KO/TKO, 4 SUB) hopes the third time is the charm for him. He has lost two M-1 Challenge light heavyweight title fights, Lub peb hlis ntuj 14, 2014 toPuetz by split decision at M 1 sib tw 46, and back in 2011 mus Vinny Magalhaes by third-round submission (choke) tom M 1 sib tw 25.

A veteran of 16 M-1 Global fights (9-7-0), Nemkov has been sidelined the past 1 ½ years recovering from a series of injuries.

Nemkov’s return and Perak’s debut as a light heavyweight adds up to an explosive fight for the right to challenge Puetz.

Three other fights have been announced this far for M 1 sib tw 60: Battle in Orel. All fights and fighters are subject to change, additional bouts will soon be announced.

Polish light heavyweight Marcin Zontek (14-8-0, 6 KO/TKO, 5 SUB) takes on Maxim Futin, of Russia, Zulfikar Usmanov (7-4-1, 1 KO/TKO, 4 SUB) faces AlexeyAtamanMakhno (9-3-0, 4 KO/TKO, 1 SUB) in a battle of Russian lightweights, and French bantamweight Moktar Benkaci (11-6-0) meets Evgeni Lazukov (7-2-0, 1 KO/TKO, 1 SUB), of Russia.

Zontek (14-8-0, 6 KO/TKO, 5 SUB) (pictured to left) plans a spectacular comeback from his 2012 bloody fight with Sergey Korneev for the M-1 Challenge light heavyweight title. Zontek needed more than 2 ½ years to fully recover from his loss but he won his last two fights going into his Aug. 5 fight.

A two-time Combat Sambo champion and European vice-champion, Futin (4-2-0, 4 KO/TKO) is an exciting fighter who often spars with Vyacheslav Vasilevky. Futin is always in great shape and known as an excellent striker.

Usmanov (pictured below left) is an experienced MMA fighter from St. Petersburg.

A powerful striker, he has twice been awardedFight of the Nightbonuses. Riding a five-fight win streak, Makhno is a promising prospect whose M-1 Challenge debut ended with a sensational knockout victory over Rakhman Makhazhiev (pictured below right).

In his most recent fight, Benkaci (11-7-0, 3 KO/TKO, 7 SUB) gave Nikita Chistyakovall he could handle, albeit in a loss by majority decision. Benkaci (pictured below left), whose previous fights have been at featherweight, was at a disadvantage fighting Chistyakov at lightweight. When M-1 Global launched its bantamweight division last month, dropped down to a much more comfortable weight class for him.

A seven-time European Universal Combat champion, Lazukov (pictured below right) showed his potential early, defeating UFC flyweight contender Ali Begautinov during his relatively young professional career.

M 1 sib tw 60 will be streamed live from Orel in high definition onwww.M1Global.TV. Viewers will be able to watch the preliminary fights and main card by logging on to register at www.M1Global.TV. WORLD SERIES OF FIGHTING SIGNS ADAM WARD AND ANDREAS SPANG

LAS VEGAS (Lub Xya hli ntuj 15, 2015) –World championship Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promotion World Series of Fighting (WSOF.com) announced today that it has expanded its roster again with the signing of two new athletes – red-hot featherweight (145 pounds) Adam Ward and battle-tested, light heavyweight (205 pounds) finisher Andreas “Sweet Swede” Spang– to exclusive, multi-fight agreements.

“We are thrilled to welcome Adam and Andreas – two aggressive and exciting competitors whose respective careers are on the upswing – to the rapidly expanding WSOF roster of world-class talent,” said WSOF President Ray Sefo.

Ward’s and Spang’s WSOF debuts will be announced soon.

The 29-year-old Ward (15-6) of Chicago, Ill. is a versatile and prolific competitor who is in the midst of a six-fight winning streak dating back to Sept. 27, 2013 when the Gilbert Grappling team member made quick work of Pedro Velasco, submitting Velasco with a rear-naked choke in just 46 seconds.

In his last start, Ward earned a unanimous decision over Strikeforce veteran Rey “The Warrior” Trujillo.

Spang (9-3) is a 36-year-old native of Sweden who resides in Las Vegas and trains under “One Kick” Nick Blomgren. A former amateur boxer who amassed a career record of 15-5, Spang also dabbled in professional kickboxing where he went 1-0 for the once great Japanese kickboxing promotion, K-1.

To date, Spang’s best conquest is perhaps his second round (3:34) KO (punch) of Brian “The Professional Predator” Rogers on April 20, 2012. NEF STARS LOOKING TO GET BACK ON THE WINNING TRACK IN LEWISTON

Lewiston, Maine (Lub Xya hli ntuj 15, 2015) – New England Fights (NEF), America’s number-one regional fight promotion, will hold its nineteenth mixed-martial-arts (MMA) event, “NEF XIX,” Rau hnub Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston, Maine. Earlier today, the promotion announced the addition of a professional bout to the fight card. Tollison Lewis (0-4) has signed to face Shatterproof 2.0Derek Shorey (2-2) at a fight weight of 150-pounds. NEF further announced that Lewis had signed a long term, multi-fight contract with the company.

Following a lengthy amateur career that saw him compete in the cage thirteen times, Tollison Lewis got off to a slow start in his professional career. He has been known throughout his career to take the toughest fights he can find, and Lewis’s four losses have all come at the hands of fighters who currently have winning records, with a combined win-loss tally of 16-6. Last fall, at NEF’s first boxing event, Lewis defeated veteran boxer John Webster (8-7-1) after taking the bout on just a day’s notice. With a brand new NEF contract in tow, a child on the way, and a respite from the sport behind him, Lewis will now look to carry his success from the NEF boxing ring over to the MMA cage. The 150-pound catchweight will be the first step in Lewis’s transition from the lightweight to featherweight division.

First off I’d like to thank NEF for the opportunity again,” said Lewis. “I’ve been on a long break with my baby girl on the way getting prepared for fatherhood, but I’m back now. I’m super excited for this fight and also making my way down in weight. Shorey is a tough guy and also very genuine person. He’s as dangerous as any man who steps in that cage. I’ll be ready and I know he will be coming hard and dangerous with bad intentions behind everything and when that cage door closes, he’s no friendit’s all business. Be ready Derek, because I will be. Let’s give these fans a show and test ourselves to the limit.

The founder and head of the Shatterproof Combat Club, Derek Shorey is looking to bounce back from what he considers the worst loss of his career. Indeed, Jeremy DiChiara (2-0) unleashed an offensive barrage on Shorey atNEF XVIIIlast month that resulted in a first-round stoppage. Like Lewis, Shorey is also an NEF-signed athlete. Also like Lewis, Shorey is looking to give NEF fans a show to remember atNEF XIX.

This is a fight I’ve seen coming and I’ve wanted for a long time,” said Shorey. “Tollison will not back down, and he’s not afraid to get hit. I’m coming off the worst performance of my career, and my family, friends and fans deserve better than that. I’m excited to get in there and mix it up with Lewis and give the NEF fans the best performance of my career.
