LOWELL, Masa. (Luty 5, 2016) – Peter Welch’s Gym in South Boston dominated last night’s Central New England (większa Lowell) championship final round of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, open and novice classes, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

Peter Welch’s Gym had seven winners last night: open – Hyde Park welterweight Jennifer Perella and Brookline light welterweight Abraham Nova; novice – Dorchester lightweightJonathen DePina i średniej Brian Lawrence, East Boston lightweight Claire Duffy lekka półśrednia, Boston light welterweight Katie Gregory and Franklin heavyweight Jared Gately.

Lowell West End Gym and Grealish Boston had the second-most winners last evening with two apiece.

Ostatnia noc, 15 matches went the distance, including several upsets, along with one technical knockout and a two walkovers.

All CNE finals winners qualified to compete in the upcoming New England Tournament of Champions, also held at Lowell Memorial Auditorium, startowy next Thursday night with the semifinals of the novice division.

(Luty 2, 2016) – Thirty-eight surviving amateur boxers will compete in 19 scheduled matches this Thursday night (Lutego. 4) the Central New England (większa Lowell) final round, open and novice divisions, of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

All CNE finals winners will advance to the New England Tournament of Champions, also held at Lowell Memorial Auditorium, later this month.

(Styczeń 29, 2016) – For the second week in a row all 13 matches went the three-round distance in last night’s Central New England (większa Lowell) semifinals round of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, featuring open and novice class action, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

Returning New England welterweight champion Xavier Vega, representing Canal Street Boxing in Lawrence (MA), było 4-1 winner against Michael Fontenez, Nashua, NH.

Peter Welch’s Gym in South Boston led the hit parade with three winners, all in the novice class: lekki Jonathan Depina, półśredniej Lipi Fernandes i średniej Brian Lawrence. (Styczeń 25, 2016) – Returning New England Golden Gloves welterweight champion Xavier Vega, Lawrence (MA), leads a host of talented open and novice class amateur boxers into this Thursday night’s (Jan. 8) in the Central New England (większa Lowell) semifinals of the 70^th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

The 21-year-old Vega, representing Canal Street Boxing, faces Nashua (NH) challenger Michael Fontanez in one of eight open class matches. There are also eight novice class matches scheduled.

Vega, kto ma 33-3 amatorski rekord, didn’t start boxing until he was 17 because he has only one kidney. A construction worker by day, Vega hopes to become a professional boxer and, Jeśli nie, a Lawrence police officer in order to give back to his community.
