LOWELL, Massa. (Tammikuu 21, 2017) – The preliminary round of the 71st annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship concluded last night with 11 exciting Central New England (suurempi Lowell) men’s novice matches at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

Viime vuonna, Peter Welchin Kuntosali (South Boston) dominated the Central New England tournament, capturing seven individual titles, followed in team scoring by the Lowell West End Gym and Grealish Boxing (Dorchester).
One of the boxers to watch this year is North Chelmsford’s Brandon Higgins, who represents the Lowell West End Gym.

New England Golden Gloves Championship OPEN CLASS FINALS RESULTS

LOWELL, Massa. (Helmikuu 26, 2016) – Western New England dominated the open class finals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, winning seven of 10 matches last night at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
The eight men’s individual open class winners earned spots on Team New England for the 2016 National Golden Gloves Championships, Toukokuu 16-21, kaupungissa Salt Lake City, Utah. Team New England includes two of the top ranked boxers in the country, valo raskaansarjan Elvis Figueroa and light welterweight Jaime Ortiz Rodriguez (repeat NE champion), both members of N.E. open class team champion from Western NE. “In the last 10 vuotta,” explained New England Golden Gloves Executive Director Bobby Russo, “we hadn’t been on a good run. Attendance dropped off a little each year. Team champions were Western N.E. in the open class, Keski N.E. in the novice class.

LOWELL, Massa. (Helmikuu 25, 2016) – Illan (Torstai, Helmikuu. 25) open class finals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, is set at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
The semifinals of the New England Tournament of Champions, as well as three final matches in the N.E. novice division, were held last night in Lowell. See complete results below as well as the bout sheet for tänä iltana.

NOVICE CLASS FINALS RESULTS FROM LOWELL
LOWELL, Massa. (Helmikuu 19, 2016) – Fourteen 2016 New England Tournament of Champions winners were crowned last night in the novice class of 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Team Central produced the most individual winners with seven, followed by Team Western with five, and Team Central had two.
The unofficial fight of the night was between Salem, MA welterweight Kenny Larson (Team Central) and his Dorchester, MA opponent Jarrod LoMax (Team Southern), in which Larson won a three-round decision, 3-2.
Portland, ME bantamweight Christian Morales (Team Northern) continued his performance run in the tournament, winning a three-round decision, 5-0, over hometown Lowell favorite Marquis Fowler (Team Central) Morales’ impressive showings in the tournament will lead him into an open division spot in next week’s New Englands.
In a Central N.E. (suurempi Lowell) heavyweight final rematch, due to a round-time issue, Methuen’s Jeesus Flores (Canal Street Nyrkkeily) defeated Haverhill’s John Roche (Haverhill Downtown Boxing) by the same score as their original match in another thrilling, back-and-forth bout ending a in three-round decision (5-0). The crosstown rivalry between the two gyms and boxers led up to another compelling match with Flores qualifying for Keskiviikko night’s open class semifinals of the New England Tournament of Champions.

LOWELL, Massa. (Helmikuu 11, 2016) – Team Central had the edge in last night’s novice class semifinals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, at Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Team Central had five individual winners, followed by Team South and Team West with three victories and Team North had two. The novice class finals of the N.E. Tournament of Champions will be held Torstai, Helmikuu. 18 at Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
The Fight of the Night was the light heavyweight match of the novice class as Team South’s Henry Ventura (N. Dartmouth, MA) overcame two knockdowns to defeat Team North’s Tyler Jacques (St. Albans, VT) who was dropped once and also had a standing eight count, by way of a unanimous decision (5-0).
Three remaining Central New England (suurempi Lowell) open class final matches were also held last night. See all results below, as well as the remaining 2016 aikataulu.
