VERONA, NUEVA YORK (Diciembre 19, 2015) – La 2015 boxing year culminated with a tremendous show at Turning Stone Resort Casino as WBA Interim Heavyweight Champion Luis “The Real King Kong” Ortiz (24-0, 21 KOs) closed the show by maintaining his title with a knockout-of-the-year candidate over Bryant “Por – Por” Jennings (19-2, 10 KOs) in the seventh round of their scheduled bout live on HBO Boxing After Dark.
“Hoy, there is a new era in the heavyweight division,” Ortiz, who landed a vicious uppercut to end the fight, dicho. “Jennings is fighter who deserves much respect, but he can tell you that I am a force in the heavyweight division. I am going to go out and obtain my objective. “I have been training for a big fight of this magnitude for three years. My strategy was to keep him at a distance and I was able to do that effectively with my reach and my jab. I will fight whoever next, whoever Golden Boy Promotions gives me I will take. Wilder, Furia, Klitschko anyone of them, I am ready to prove that I am the heavyweight world champion. A lot of people say a lot of things about me, but the testing showed that I am a clean fighter.
I wasn’t on my game, and he got the best of me,” Jennings said. “I didn’t adjust well and he was the better man.
The co-main event saw two Super Featherweightsformer WBA Featherweight and Super Featherweight World Champion Nicolas “Hacha Hombre” Walters (26-0-1, 21 KOs) and Jason Sosa (18-1-4, 14 KOs) — wage a superb battle with both fighters landing tremendous sharp, accurate shots throughout the fight. While Sosa won the fight on one of the judge’s cards, the fight was ruled a draw as the two other judges had the fight even.
I am in total shock. I was never in any danger, never hurt,” Walters said. “[Sosa] es un buen boxeador — the kind of fight I wantedbut I thought I won all the rounds. So surprised this happened to me.
I thought I won and am disappointed it was a draw,” Sosa said. “Trabajé duro, I really thought I won the fight.
In the HBO Latino Boxing main event light heavyweight Vyacheslav “corazón de León – Chigonsky” Shabranskyy (15-0, 12 KOs) kept his undefeated record intact slugging out a majority decision over Yuneski Gonzalez (16-2, 12 KOs) in an action-packed brawl that saw both fighters land huge shots throughout the fight.
This fight was the most important and most exciting fight of my career,” said Shabranskyy. I did feel a lot of Gonzalezpunches but I also feel like I hurt himespecially in the last round, he was beginning to sway. If I had a little more time I feel I would have knocked him out.
I knew that this was going to be a war and that is what we delivered tonight,” González dijo. “We both gave it our all and didn’t let up. I knew that I needed to knock him out to win this fight but he was more resilient than I thought and didn’t open up enough for the knockout to happened. I did know the fight was very close and should have been a draw in my opinion. I would like the opportunity to fight him again and prove that I am the better fighter.
In the co-main of the HBO Latino broadcast, rising middleweight “Rey” Gabriel Rosado (22-9, 13 KOs) shook off some tough early rounds to earn a hard-fought unanimous victory against former IBF Welterweight World Champion Joshua “Gran Maestro” Clottey (39-6, 22 KOs).
It has been more than a year since I have been in the ring so I did feel a little I the rust but I feel like this fight really helped me shake it off,” Rosado said. Clottey is a tough opponent, el ex campeón del mundo, definitely a challenge for me in my first fight back. I delivered an entertaining fight tonight and I was happy with my performance. I am ready for my next big challenge, I would like a shot at Canelo [Alvarez] siguiente.”
Gabriel gave everyone a great performance today,” said Fernando Vargas, Rosado’s trainer. This was our first training camp together and I think we are going to keep growing and make great fights together.
This was an off night for me,” Clottey said. “I do think that the fans enjoyed the fightwe are both fighters that do not like to back down. Sin embargo, I don’t feel comfortable at this weight class, I want to go back down to 154 and continue to fight at junior middleweight.
Opening the HBO Latino broadcast, former WBA and IBF Featherweight World Champion Yuriorkis Gamboa (25-1, 17 KOs) had all he could handle after a 13-month layoff, squaring off in a lightweight showdown against Hylon Williams Jr. (16-2-1, 3 KOs) de Houston. Después 10 rounds of back-and-forth action, the judges awarded Gamboa a hard-fought unanimous decision.
It feels good to be back in the ring,” Gamboa said. “I trained in Cuba, and I feel that all the hard paid off. I was faster and stronger in the ring. I know I dominated the action tonight, I made sure he knew I was in control from the first round.
I felt good about the pace of the fight, I know I hurt him a few times,” Williams dijo. “This fight should have gone my way.
In a light heavyweight battle, rising prospect D’MitriusBig MeechBallard (11-0, 7 KOs) won a shutout unanimous decision against a game Fabiano “Pit Bull” Pluma (11-4-1, 8 KOs).
I am glad I secured the victory today,” Ballard said. “[Pluma] was able to go all six rounds with me, but I felt in complete control the entire fight. I think I am ready to step up to more rounds and bigger opponents. I am ready for the next big step of my career and this fight showed that. I want to thank Oscar and Golden Boy Promotions for the opportunity and I can’t wait for the next fight.
En la primera pelea de la noche, middleweight Steven “The Hitman” Martínez (16-2, 13 KOs) emerged with a second round TKO victory over Jorge “Destructor” Meléndez (28-6-1, 26 KOs). Martinez got off numerous combinations in round one and followed it up in round two with a sizzling left hook that floored Menendez. BILLY JOE SAUNDERS DETRONE A ANDY LEE EL SÁBADO PARA CONVERTIRSE EN EL 12 ° CAMPEÓN MUNDIAL BRITÁNICO ACTUAL EN SHO EXTREME® DE MANCHESTER,INGLATERRA

NUEVA YORK (Diciembre.

Las Vegas (Diciembre 18) – La “forcewas with Cuban star and newly crowned lightweight world champion Rances Barthelemy (24-0, 13 KOs) as he won a 12-round unanimous decision over Russian southpaw Denis Shafikov (36-2-1, 19 KOs) in the headlining bout of the final Liga de Campeones de Boxeo (PBC) por Spike fight card of 2015. The four-fight telecast, which was supported by non-televised fights featuring some of Mayweather Promotions’ estrellas en ascenso, took place at the Pearl at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
Coming off of a luxury world tour, Floyd Mayweather returned stateside and sat ringside as promoter of tonight’s fights. The recently retired five-division world champion, who also learned today he was selected asSports Illustrated Boxeador del Año, was animated and engaged through the final bell of the evening.
El evento principal, which started off as a close toe-to-toe battle, ended in the Barthelemy’s favor as he swept the latter quarter of the bout. Shafikov controlled the beginning of the fight, staying in the pocket and throwing more powerful punches than Barthelemy as the Cuban had a difficult time adjusting to the significantly shorter, yet stronger, style of Shafikov.
The turning point of the fight occurred when a cut caused by a punch by Barthelemy opened up above Shafikov’s right eye in the eighth round. The blood began to poor furiously and referee Vic Drakulich called the ringside doctor over to inspect the cut. When the fight resumed, Barthelemy attacked the Russian’s eye and never let up for the remainder of the fight. He took advantage of the cut and coupled it with his height and reach advantage which led to a recipe for success as he is now a two-division world champion. The judges saw the bout 119-109 y 116-112 dos veces.
There were moments where I was trapped into my style of fighting. It took me a minute to adjust to Shafikov’s style and exchange punches with him,” Said Bartolomé. “I’m really happy with the number of punches I was able to get off.
I was really impressed with Shafiov’s warrior style. He never gave up even after getting hurt with punches that were affecting his fight. That really caught me by surprise and also that he was able to last the whole fight. The fact that he continued really says something about him as a fighter.
I’m not sure if I won the fight,” Said Shafikov. “I’m very disappointed and I want a rematch.
The co-main event saw a bizarre ending to what was to be a cruiserweight elimination bout. Detroit southpawIsiah Thomas (15-0, 6 KOs) was winning the fight on all three judgesscorecards through round three when Russian power-puncher Murat “Hierro” Gassiev (22-0, 16 KOs) threw accidental late blows to Thomashead after the bell. The punches forced referee Jay Nady to make the tough call that the punchesdiminished the valueof Thomasability to continue. As the fight had not yet gone four rounds, unified rules state that the fight does not go to the scorecards, thus ruling it a no contest.
Chris Pearson (16-1 11 KOs), a promising super welterweight from Dayton, Ohio put his previously undefeated record on the line against fellow unbeaten Eric Walker (12-0, 6 KOs) of Plaquemine, Louisiana in the second televised bout. Walker came out strong, dominating the early rounds against Pearson, another member of the stable of rising stars from Mayweather Promotions. A wobbled Pearson persevered and attempted to turn the tide in an action-packed fifth round with a series of head shots.

The seventh round saw both fighters exchanging a brutal barrage of punches culminating with a fast-paced eighth and final round drawing a standing ovation from the crowd. The underdog Walker, who spent 13 years in Dixon Correctional Institute in Louisiana, scored a unanimous decision victory (79-71, 78-74, 80-72) winning the biggest fight of his life in front of a captivated national TV audience.

If you believe in God and work hard at what you’re doing, you’re going to succeed,” dijo Walker. “Look at me now.
I had watched his previous fights and knew that my right hand would be too much for him and that I could land it anytime,” continuó Walker. “My conditioning was really the difference tonight. I was in great shape and I was able to rely on that when the going got tough.

Pearson was disappointed in the decision and was left wanting a rematch.

“Me quito el sombrero ante él,” dijo Pearson. “His punches were crisp and hard. I just couldn’t get going on anything consistently. I thought it was closer than the judgesscorecards and I definitely want a rematch as soon as possible.

En la primera pelea de la noche, one of boxing’s fast rising stars, Gervonta “El único” Davis (14-0, 13 KOs) out of Baltimore put his undefeated record on the line against Mexico’s Luis Sanchez (17-5-1, 5 KOs) en un choque ligero.

Davis, a 21-year-old protégé of Mayweather, lived up to his reputation as a budding superstar scoring a hard-fought ninth round knockout victory. Sanchez showed his toughness and resiliency as he forced Davis to fight three rounds longer than any fight of his career.Davis showed his speed and power in the eighth round as he landed an uppercut to knock down his determined opponent. En la novena ronda, he threw a massive left hand to finish Sanchez, sending Mayweather to his feet in celebration.

It felt great to fight all of these rounds and get the work in,” dijo Davis. “He’s a tough fighter and I learned a great deal tonight. It was a very good experience for me.
I just listened to my corner and Floyd, took my time and broke him down. I want to fight again as soon as possible for a world title.
Mayweather, who was very pleased with Davis’ actuación, sees the young undefeated fighter’s future as bright.
It’s always good to go out there and get the W,” dijo Mayweather. “Es joven. He’s still learning. We’re looking forward to him being a world champion some day.
Mayweather relished in the opportunity to promote one of the final fights of the year in his hometown of Las Vegas saying, “I’m so happy we were able to showcase on national television some of the talented fighters we have at Mayweather Promotions. Ganar o perder, I am proud of all of them.
More importantly I want to wish everyone Happy Holidays and thank for them supporting me, Mayweather Promotions and The Money Team throughout all of these years. I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.
