Lowell, Massa. (Pebruari 26, 2016) – Western New England dominated the open class finals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, winning seven of 10 matches last night at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
The eight men’s individual open class winners earned spots on Team New England for the 2016 National Golden Gloves Championships, Mei 16-21, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Team New England includes two of the top ranked boxers in the country, heavyweight cahaya Elvis Figueroa and light welterweight Jaime Ortiz Rodriguez (repeat NE champion), both members of N.E. open class team champion from Western NE. Burlington, MA featherweight Amanda Pavone captured her sixth NE. gelar.
In the last 10 taun,” explained New England Golden Gloves Executive Director Bobby Russo, “we hadn’t been on a good run. Attendance dropped off a little each year. Last year’s horrible weather killed us. Taun ayeuna, sanajan, the excitement was back and attendance was up 30-percent. There was a younger crowd and many novice boxers had good fan bases, which we need to build up every year. We had a lot of good fights and good boxers this year. Boxing is back in Lowell! We had a great season.
Team New England will be very strong. We have a young team but many of these boxers have a lot of invaluable experience from Junior Olympics competition, from heavyweight on down. I think we have an impressive team that will do very well at The Nationals this year.
Team champions were Western N.E. in the open class, Central N.E. in the novice class.
Three New England novice champions were also crowned last night. See complete results below as well as more pictures.
Proceeds from the Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship go towards sending the New England Golden Gloves champions to the National Golden Gloves Championship, in addition to supporting local athletes and area gyms, the Boys & Klub budak awéwé, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, cancer funds, scholarships and many other great charitable causes.

“60 MINUTES SPORTS” CAPTURES THE EXCITEMENT AND SPIRIT OF NAVAL ACADEMY BOXING ON THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF THIS ANNAPOLIS TRADITION, Salasa, Maret 1 Dina Showntime®

Cameras Will Be Following the Fighters At The Brigade Boxing Championship Jumaah ieu Wengi

YORK ÉNGGAL (Feb. 25, 2016) - 60 MINUTES SPORTS will offer a window into one of the most time-honored traditions in America’s military when it presents a segment on the U.S. Naval Academy’s boxing program and its annual Brigade Boxing Championship. The feature builds up to the 75th championship this Friday, Feb. 26, in Annapolis, Md., and correspondent Jack Ford and 60 MINUTES SPORTS will be in the arena to record the action for the men’s and women’s bouts. The report will appear on the next edition of 60 MINUTES SPORTS, Salasa, Maret 1 di 9 p.m. AND/PT, dina SHOWTIME.

Boxing has been practiced at the nation’s second oldest military institution for 150 taun, and midshipmen have vied for the Brigade Boxing Championship since 1941. Along the way to this year’s 75thanniversary, the academy has made learning to box a requirement of graduation from the U.S. Naval Academy.

The man who teaches the “sweet science” to midshipmen – male and female – is Head Boxing Coach Jim McNally. It’s about future leaders facing fear. “We use boxing…as a laboratory…an environment of controlled stress, physical fear,” says McNally. “We want them to learn a lot about themselves and how they’re going to react to those situations,” he tells Ford.

60 MINUTES SPORTS shot the story in Annapolis in the fall and last January to show the process and tell the stories of three midshipmen who will be in the ring Jumaah ieu fighting for a championship. One of them, Samantha Glaeser, has a chance to make academy history. There have been only 19 at Annapolis to win the crown all four years at the Naval Academy, and none was a woman. Glaeser has a chance Jumaah wengi.

Ford also speaks with Glaeser’s foe, Stephanie Simon, another midshipmen with pugilistic talents who has a National Collegiate Boxing championship under her belt. She has not been able to defeat Glaeser, kumaha oge, in their two previous meetings for the brigade championship.

Ford also talks to Midshipman Jourdan Looney, whose two brigade championship titles are testament to what boxing means to the Academy. He had no boxing experience before he entered the Naval Academy. “Boxing…fighting is one of my biggest fears. I conquer that one fear, I’ve conquered any other fear that I could possibly have.” He’ll be in contention for his third brigade title Jumaah wengi.

The U.S. Naval Academy Superintendent, Vice Adm. Walter Carter, sums up the importance of boxing to America’s future naval officers for Ford. "[Tinju] is that moment where no matter how well you think you have planned out your couple minutes in the ring, you’re going to learn something new, because that plan is going to have to be different….”

Ku: Beunghar Bergeron

Tinju mangrupikeun olahraga anu unik, ngomong sahenteuna. Ieu sering disebut salaku "The Sweet Élmu" kalawan istilah tina olahraga remen invoked pikeun ngajelaskeun rivalries sengit na matchups dina myriad olahraga sejenna.. Tinju ogé sering dirujuk dina métafora ngeunaan politik. Padahal popularitas tinju henteu dimana-mana jaman ayeuna, éta kénéh salah sahiji kagiatan olahraga paling nangtang jeung daunting hiji jalma bisa ilubiung sacara sah di sakuliah dunya.

Upami anjeun kabetot dina ngudag karir dina tinju atanapi ngan ukur milarian diajar dasarna, mangpaat mastering karajinan pugilism tiasa pisan rewarding. Dina waktos anu sasarengan, aya bédana badag antara "ngaliwatan gerak" jeung devoting waktu nu diperlukeun pikeun jadi profésional suksés. Jalan anu mana waé, upami anjeun kerja keras sareng ngajaga dedikasi anjeun pikeun diajar, latihan anjeun pasti bakal ngahasilkeun duanana ngaronjat kapercayaan tur ditingkatkeun kabugaran fisik.

Upami anjeun ngarencanakeun pikeun nyandak pelajaran anjeun ka tingkat dimana anjeun siap bersaing di sawatara titik, Anjeun bakal peryogi regimen latihan serius sahenteuna dua nepi ka tilu jam per poé. Anjeun ogé kedah milarian gim tinju anu terhormat. Pilarian online kedah ngakibatkeun anjeun ka fasilitas di daérah anjeun, tapi anjeun ogé tiasa milarian pelatih anu kompeten anu tiasa damel sareng anjeun ti bumi upami teu aya gim tinju caket anjeun. Di dieu nyaeta a artikel lengkep on kumaha carana manggihan gym pangalusna pikeun kaperluan anjeun.

Lamun ngan saukur hayang nyaho kumaha carana mindahkeun sabudeureun, maledog punches jeung membela diri, aya fasilitas husus nu ngahususkeun dina dasar nu bisa nampung kabutuhan Anjeun. Salah sahiji operasi pang alusna-dipikawanoh tur nasional pikeun dasar tinju jeung kickboxing palajaran Judul tinju Club. Aranjeunna nawiskeun sesi latihan komprehensif sareng kelas kelompok anu diawasi ku palatih profésional anu janji "pikeun ngabantosan anjeun langkung percaya diri, kaduruk langkung kalori sareng kaleungitan beurat." Penting pikeun émut yén fasilitas sapertos Title Boxing Club henteu leres-leres dirancang pikeun latihan tinju kalapa, sabab kurban maranéhanana utamana diarahkeun kana pangajaran tinju pikeun pertahanan diri, latihan, leungitna beurat jeung tujuan release stress.

Henteu peryogi seueur bakti atanapi pangorbanan pikeun nyandak tinju murni pikeun kauntungan kabugaran. Saleresna mangrupikeun bagian tina olahraga anu janten populer pisan kusabab kanyataan yén latihan latihan masihan mangpaat pikeun ampir sadaya otot dina awak anjeun.. béntang Hollywood, modél, komo béntang televisi kanyataanana sumpah ku latihan tinju salaku cara pikeun ngajaga inohong pikaresepeun maranéhanana sarta penampilan nonoman maranéhanana..

Majalah Waktos diterbitkeun carita dina sasih Méi, 2015 anu digambarkeun tinju salaku salah sahiji tren kabugaran hottest taun.

Leungit, latihan tinju pikeun tujuan non-kompetitif tiasa sengit sarta agonizing pikeun jalma anu pernah make sapasang sarung tinju saméméh.. Salian ti punching, footwork jeung latihan pertahanan, bakal aya sit-up, Pus ap, luncat-roping sareng paling dipikaresep seueur lumpat anu bakal nguntungkeun latihan sareng rutin latihan anjeun. Anjeun panginten henteu peryogi komitmen waktos anu sami upami anjeun henteu bersaing, tapi seueur latihan bakal sami sareng anu dilakukeun ku petinju pro di gim unggal dinten nalika aranjeunna henteu sparring..

Sparring sareng gelut petinju sanés dina kompetisi ngajantenkeun latihan anjeun ka tingkat anu énggal. Tinju mangrupikeun kagiatan anu bahaya pisan, sanajan headgear, mouthpieces sareng aturan sareng peraturan anu teratur ngajantenkeun langkung aman ayeuna tibatan nalika kontes tinju sarung tangan munggaran lumangsung.. Jalma-jalma masih maot dina pertandingan tinju, jeung sababaraha tungtungna nyanghareupan komplikasi lifelong ti patandingan tunggal atawa karir panjang nyandak loba teuing punches.

Kusabab ieu, kaputusan pikeun boxing competitively teu kudu impulsif atawa dianggap enteng. Anjeun kedah daék nampi résiko tatu anu serius upami anjeun hoyong ngajantenkeun karir tinju. Anjeun kedah terang pisan dina téknik pertahanan sareng waspada kana tanda-tanda geger otak atanapi tatu otak.. Sesi sparring kontak pinuh kedah lumangsung ngan dina pangawasan professional terlatih, sarta duanana pejuang kudu maréntahkeun ngagunakeun ngeunaan satengah salaku loba kakuatan dina punches maranéhna sakumaha maranéhna ngalakukeunana dina kompetisi nyata. Leungit, lamun rencana pikeun kotak salaku amatir atawa profésional, sababaraha jenis tatu ampir dilawan. Di sawatara titik anjeun bakal sangsara lip pamisah, irung getihan, panon hideung jeung / atawa cut nasty. Janten, upami anjeun leres-leres hoyong janten petinju anu kompetitif, pastikeun gaduh asuransi kaséhatan nyukupan lamun perlu perhatian médis stemming ti partisipasi anjeun dina olahraga.

Leuwih ti éta resiko anjeun nyanghareupan, Penting pisan yén anjeun terang nalika latihan yén tinju mangrupikeun salah sahiji olahraga anu paling hese di pangeusina. Teu aya tim anu bakal mawa anjeun dina kompetisi upami anjeun gaduh dinten anu goréng di kantor. Ngan aya dua pesaing dina unggal pertandingan: anjeun jeung lawan anjeun. Saha waé anu wani sareng ulet tiasa ngaléngkah ka ring tinju sareng gelut, tapi butuh jenis husus tina bakti sarta kahayang pikeun nempatkeun dina waktu jeung karya pikeun meunang piala, medali jeung / atawa duit ngaliwatan exploits anjeun dina ring.

Paling petinju ngaliwat taun tinju amatir saméméh pertandingan profésional kahiji maranéhanana. Henteu wajib pikeun petinju tarung di amatir sateuacan janten pro, tapi pasti dianjurkeun. Sababaraha petinju moal pernah lebet kana jajaran profésional, sanajan maranehna ngalakukeun unggul dina amatir. Malah aya a Divisi "Masters". pikeun folks 35 jeung kolot.

Tapi, malah tinju amatir ngalibatkeun deal gede gawé teuas. Bedana utama antara patandingan amatir sareng pro nyaéta yén kalolobaan patandingan amatir durasina langkung pondok tibatan gelut pro sareng gaduh pesaing anu ngagem tutup sirah anu nawiskeun panyalindungan ka sisi sirah sareng sababaraha daérah raray.. Leungit, punches nu darat dina headgear nu bisa jadi sagampil teuas nyandak sakumaha hits nu nyambung dina tangkorak bulistir Anjeun.

Naha anjeun badé nyandak bakat anjeun ka jajaran profésional atanapi henteu, tinju amatir tiasa titik awal alus teuing. Ieu sababaraha tulisan hébat anu ngajelaskeun kumaha carana ngudag kasempetan tinju amatir:

Sababaraha akademi ogé nawiskeun tinju, jeung akademi militér AS fielding tim paling dominan leuwih taun. Sanaos henteu ditawarkeun di ampir seueur akademi sapertos olahraga tradisional sapertos maén bal sareng baseball, kompetisi bisa jadi sagampil galak sakumaha dina eta olahraga sejenna, upami teu langkung seueur.

Henteu masalah kumaha anjeun milih pikeun ngamimitian tinju pikeun kabugaran atanapi kompetisi, nempel kana eta bakal merlukeun wasiat kuat sarta suplai sehat duanana kateguhan mental jeung fisik. Saleresna ngawasaan olahraga tiasa mangtaun-taun, mun teu puluhan taun. Naha anjeun kotak pikeun artos atanapi pikeun kamulyaan, eta tiasa ogé patut resiko anjeun nyandak pikeun ilubiung. Anjeun bakal salawasna émut yén pertama kali anjeun ngangkat leungeun anjeun dina tungtung gelut. Janten juara dunya panginten henteu aya dina kartu pikeun anjeun, tapi ngan ngaléngkah dina ring pikeun ngalawan lawan bakal nempatkeun anjeun dina kelas jalma anu anjeun bakal reueus dipatalikeun sareng.
