POUR DIFFUSION IMMÉDIATE: Lewiston, Maine (Juin 4, 2019) - Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF) returns to the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Saturday, Juin 22 avec son prochain événement d'arts martiaux mixtes, “NEF 39: ALL-AMERICAN.” Plus tôt aujourd'hui,, the fight promotion announced that Jesse “Le Viking” Erickson (9-7) se réunira Dylan Lockard (5-1) for the vacant NEF Professional Lightweight Championship. Former champion Ryan Sanders (18-9) decided to vacate the title late last year due to the extreme weight cuts he had to endure to make the lightweight limit of 155 livres.

Le combat, originally scheduled to be a non-title affair between Erickson and Lewis Corapi (8-5), came about after Corapi had to pull out due to illness.

Erickson has attempted to capture the lightweight belt three times previously, twice against Bruce Boyington (17-11) and once against current UFC competitor Devin Powell (9-4), only to come up short in each fight. Erickson says he will be patient in this bout in hopes of winning the title that has eluded him to date.

“First, I want to thank Dylan for stepping up to take the bout,” remarked Erickson. “He seems well-rounded and has wins over some quality opponents. I’m working hard every day and will enter the cage in the best shape I’ve ever been in. I’m not going to be in a rush in the cage on June 22nd. I have five rounds to put him away and finally walk out with that belt. Victory or Valhalla, fourth time’s the charm.”

Lockard will definitely be entering hostile territory with hundreds of Erickson’s hometown friends, family and fans in the crowd. The fight will take place ten pounds heavier than the featherweight limit Lockard usually competes at.

Everything about Lockard’s background, cependant, indicates that he rises to meet any challenge. In 2010 he won a state championship at 152 pounds wrestling for Timberlane Regional High School in Plaistow, New Hampshire, finishing his senior season with an impressive 38-9 record. He began his amateur MMA career in 2014 and went a perfect 4-0, defeating some of the best the region has to offer including Harvey and Hall. Lockard turned pro in the summer of 2016. His only loss to date has been against a very tough Shane Manley (5-5), who longtime NEF fans will remember as the athlete who handed both Jesse Erickson and Ray Wood (8-5) the first losses of their respective MMA careers. Lockard is currently on a two-fight win streak since the loss to Manley, most-recently upending previously-undefeated Anthony Wright (4-1) on a fight card in Rhode Island last fall.

“I’m excited to come up to Maine and fight for the NEF title,” said Lockard when reached for comment.  “Jesse is a really tough opponent, and I think we match up well. It’s going to be an exciting fight for the fans.”

Hard-Hitting & Dangerous Jorge Cota to Step In and Replace Harrison Sunday, Juin 23 in FOX PBC Fight Night on FOX & FOX Deportes Main Event at Mandalay Bay Events Center

LAS VEGAS (Juin 3, 2019) – Champion du monde des super mi-moyens Tony Harrison injured his ankle in training last week and has withdrawn from his title defense against former world champion Jermell Charlo that was scheduled to headline FOX PBC Fight Night on FOX and FOX Deportes Sunday, Juin 23 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Harrison has an inner and outer ankle sprain with torn ligaments in his right ankle and he will be out for 10 weeks before he can resume training. Harrison and Charlo plan to have their rematch later this year.

Stepping in to replace Harrison for a 12-round fight is the always dangerousJorge Cota (28-3, 25 KOs), who most recently lost a disputed split-decision in April on FS1 against Jeison Rosario. The 31-year old from Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico had scored three straight knockout victories before the defeat in April.

“Watching my Mexican brother Andy Ruiz fight last weekend, I am very motivated,” said Cota. “I saw how he got an unexpected chance to become a champion and surprise the world. He has inspired me to win this fight in the same way. I will shock the world on June 23 just like Andy did on Saturday, for Mexico, the country that I love. This is the most important fight of my career.”

“As we have seen from Andy Ruiz’s incredible upset of Anthony Joshua in the heavyweight championship fight on Saturday night, replacement fighters are not to be taken as a joke,” a déclaré Tom Brown, President of TGB Promotions. “Jorge Cota is a dangerous fighter. He has heavy hands and he’s looking for an opportunity to make a statement. Jermell Charlo realizes just how serious this is and he wants to get his title back. I know he’s going to be prepared to make his own statement.”

The 29-year-old Charlo will now have to wait for his opportunity to avenge the only loss of his career and regain his title against Harrison. Combats de Houston, Texas, Charlo won the vacant WBC title with a devastating knockout victory over John Jackson in 2016. He made three successful defenses of the title with highlight-reel knockouts over Charles Hatley and Erickson Lubin, plus a majority decision win over former champion Austin Trout.

“It feels like a heartbreak,” Saïd Charlo. “I was ready to destroy Tony Harrison and now I’m going to get in there and destroy Cota. I always pray for my opponent to have safe care and make it to the fight healthy. It’s unfortunate that Tony Harrison isn’t my next victim. I want the best Harrison so I want him healed up and ready to go, because that will only bring out the best in me.

“I feel my title was taken from me and being held hostage and I want it back. I will go through anything to get it back. The moment he’s cleared to fight I want the match and I will get my title back. I’m going in June 23 for a dominant victory with a ferocious attitude and a mindset to destroy, because I know I can’t leave it to the judges anymore.”

Harrison’s injury is the latest twist in the super welterweight division that started last December when Harrison and Charlo’s first encounter took place live on FOX. Harrison won the decision to upset Charlo and take away the title. The close nature of the bout helped warrant an immediate rematch that promises to be just as highly charged and dramatic. Julien “J-Rock” Williams scored a hard-fought unanimous decision over Jarrett Hurd as the IBF and WBA titles changed hands as well in May.

This setback for Harrison, who is from Detroit and was trained early in his career by the late Emanuel Steward, is another challenge for the 28-year-old champion. Harrison was on track for a title shot before suffering the first loss of his career in 2015 to Willie Nelson. After three-straight wins, he earned a shot at the vacant 154-pound title against Jarrett Hurd. Although Harrison had strong moments in the fight, he eventually lost to Hurd and was forced to again climb to the top. After another three victories, including a win over former champion Ishe Smith, Harrison took advantage of his second world title opportunity against Charlo.

« Ronnie Shields m'a changé d'être un enfant à réaliser qui je suis comme un homme dans le sport de la boxe. Il a eu champions du monde devant moi, je sais, afin qu'il puisse juger ma progression. Il va vous assurer que je reste à ce niveau.



« Je marche dans le ring et je manipuler mes affaires. Ceci est certainement un pas le combat pour Brandon Adams, mais je suis seulement inquiet de ce que je dois faire. Je vais juste de se préparer à être mon meilleur. Nous allons à la fois donner le meilleur de nous et je serai victorieux.

« Je reçois beaucoup de jus de la foule locale. Juste avoir là toute seule ma famille est ce que je dois vraiment obtenir les nerfs et l'excitation à l'endroit où je les ai besoin. Je vais être à l'aise et je vais en tenir à mon plan de jeu. Je ne suis pas ici pour faire des erreurs.



« Jusqu'à présent, le camp a été une grande. Je me sens génial et je suis bien préparé. Il est un sentiment incroyable de se battre dans ma ville natale. Il est presque un rêve devenu réalité pour moi. Avoir ma propre carte à ce niveau et à ce stade, il montre le soutien Houston a pour moi « .

RENO’S JJ MARIANO TO MAKE PRO DEBUT / CARSON CITY’S ELIZONDO RETURNS TO RING JUNE 8TH

30 mai, RENO — Northern Nevadans JJ Mariano and Diego Elizondo are scheduled to fight on the June 8th world-championship boxing card at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. The event is presented by Top Rank Inc., Let 's Get It On Promotions, and the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa. The evening’s feature attraction matches World Champion Oscar Valdez (25-0, 20 KOs) against Jason Sanchez (14-0, 7 KOs) for the WBO Featherweight World Title.  



Making his highly anticipated pro debut, Reno’s own JJ Mariano will be fighting William Flenoy of Fresno in a four-round jr. welterweight bout. Mariano, who has been exciting local boxing fans by fighting for University of Nevada Reno’s boxing program, is ready to throw his hat into the prize ring.  

“I’ve been looking forward to fighting professionally for about a year now.” Says Mariano. “Being able to have your first pro fight in your hometown is something special.”

Mariano, who is a Reed High School graduate, has also recently participated in various Golden Glove tournaments.

In a battle of undefeated prospects, Carson City lightweight Diego Elizondo (2-0-1) will be fighting Sacramento’s Sergio Vega (2-0) in a four-round match. After a layoff, Elizondo is eager to get back into the squared-circle.

“I have bigger plans in boxing.” Says Elizondo.  “A win over Vega will be a step in the right direction.”


Valdez-Sanchez and the 10-round co-feature will be televised live on ESPN and ESPN Deportes at 10 p.m. HE / 7 h, heure. PT. Undercard bouts will stream live on ESPN+, the leading multi-sport streaming service, à partir de 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT.

Wallin (20-0, 13 KOs, 1 Dakota du Nord) fait son U.S. débuts sur Showtime en Avril, également sur l'undercard de Shields-Hammer, mais son combat avec Nick Kisner a été écourtée après un coup de tête accidentel a quitté Kisner incapable de continuer, entraînant une décision non. Fleurs (34-4-1, 21 KOs) est devenu professionnel en 2003 et a bénéficié d'une longue, carrière réussie en compétition pour la plupart comme cruiserweight. Invaincu à travers les sept premières années et 25 combats de sa carrière, Flores a subi son premier revers quand il a voyagé en Australie pour contester Danny Green pour son titre mondial IBO Cruiserweight, laissant tomber une décision unanime. Le natif de l'Arizona a rebondi en remportant huit de ses neuf prochains combats avant d'obtenir une seconde chance à un titre mondial, voyage de nouveau à la ville natale de son adversaire. Ce temps, Flores a été arrêté par le champion WBC Cruiserweight Tony Bellew à Liverpool. Flores a depuis déménagé à des poids lourds, où il a gagné deux de ses trois combats.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Tour. (Mai 29, 2019) – Boxers se battent pour diverses raisons. Team USA poids coq Duke Ragan est entraîné dans le gymnase et la bague par son-deux ans fille, Kennedy Ragan.


Les 21 ans Ragan forme avec ses collègues membres de l'équipe d'élite à Colorado Springs, Colorado, ce qui est loin de sa maison et sa fille à Cincinnati.

“Il est difficile d'être loin de sa,” Ragan admis, “mais elle me motive. Je boxe pour notre avenir.”

L'avenir dans la boxe de Ragan est lumineux. Il est le Non. 1 poids coq aux États-Unis, qui prévoit de trésorerie après la 2020 Jeux Olympiques au Japon.

Bien qu'il ait eu son premier match amateur quand il avait sept ans, Ragan était pratiquement né à la boîte, évident par des photos de lui comme un enfant portant des gants de boxe bébé. Son père et entraîneur, Derek “Duc” Chiffonune, qui a nommé son fils avec son propre surnom, avait beaucoup d'amis qui étaient boxeurs. Quand le frère aîné du duc de six ans, Lewis Walker, formés à leur oncle Sean Singleton« Salle de s, jeune duc était formé dans la maison par son père.

“J'ai joué d'autres sports quand j'étais jeune, mais je ne l'ai pas dans le lycée,” Ragan a dit. “Mon père a commencé à me former quand j'avais six et un an plus tard, J'étais à la formation de gymnastique et sparring. Je ne voulais pas jouer tous les sports autres que la boxe.”

Ragan a une 151-19 record amateur, mis en évidence par sa performance pour la médaille d'argent au 2017 Championnats du monde. Il a remporté l'or au 2016 & 2018 Elite Championnats nationaux, le qualifiant pour la 2020 Essais olympiques pour la boxe, ainsi qu'à la 2016 Championnats nationaux Golden Gloves.


En plus de remporter une médaille d'argent au 2017 Championnats du monde, Ragan a réussi à une autre compétition internationale, en prenant les honneurs à la 2017 Coupe chimie, runner-up à la 2018 Coupe des présidents, et la troisième place se termine dans la 2017 Championnats continentaux et 2019 Panaméricaine Qualifier au Nicaragua. Dans ce dernier tournoi, Ragan a perdu en demi-finale à l'Equateur Jean Caicedo, 3-2, pour se qualifier pour les Jeux panaméricains, Juillet 27 à Lima, Pérou.

Ragan est impatient de venger sa défaite controversée à Caicedo aux Jeux panaméricains. “J'étais le Non. 1 semences au Qualifier panaméricaine, et je pense que je serai le Non. 1 graine aux Jeux panaméricains,” Ragan a commenté. “Je pense que je suis une mauvaise décision en demi-finale. Il y aura une bonne compétition aux Jeux panaméricains, mais personne pour moi de s'inquiéter.”

Auto-décrit comme un boxeur pur qui aime se déplaçant autour de l'anneau claquant jabs, Ragan a aussi une puissance suffisante pour mettre les adversaires dormir. Il veut faire partie de la riche histoire de la boxe de Cincinnati, qui a produit grands de tous les temps tels que Aaron Pryor,Ezzard Charles, Adrian Broner, Rau'shee Warren et Tim Austin, entre autres.

“Pryor et Charles boxed dans la même communauté où j'ai grandi,” Ragan a noté. “Je l'ai vraiment pas fait quoi que ce soit encore, mais ce serait cool d'être champion du monde comme eux.”

USA Boxing a joué un rôle majeur dans la vie du jeune Ragan et, s'il obtient son souhait, il va continuer d'être pendant au moins un an ou deux. “Mon objectif principal est 2020, Je vais pas de retourner pro après,” il fait remarquer. “boxe amateur m'a apporté un long chemin. Je suis plus discipliné, mieux ciblée, et un boxeur beaucoup plus intelligent. J'ai un QI plus élevé de boxe. J'ai eu aussi apprendre à faire des sacrifices, parce que je dois être un homme pour prendre le temps pour ma petite fille. Tout cela me se prépare à être un professionnel.

Ragan a voyagé à travers le monde comme un boxeur Etats-Unis d'équipe ayant été en Allemagne et au Kazakhstan (deux fois chacun), Pologne, La Bulgarie et le Nicaragua. En fin de compte, Duke Ragan veut continuer à représenter son pays et de voyager partout dans le monde, avec optimisme, la réservation d'un voyage à Tokyo l'année prochaine.

Megan Rosado is currently an even 1-1 since debuting in the NEF cage late last year. She took on Glory Watson at “NEF 36” in September and went the distance in a back-and-forth, thrilling contest. Watson was able to pull out a split decision on the judges’ scorecards to take the victory. “Training mixed martial arts has changed my life,” remarked Knapp. “I’m just excited to challenge myself against a tough opponent like Megan. My coach tells me that everybody from Nate Libby’s gym is tough, so we’re getting ready for a fight.”

The bout between Rosado and Knapp is the second women’s fight announced for the “NEF 39” card. Also on the amateur card that night, gloire Watson (4-0) will meet Caree Hill (4-1) for the vacant women’s flyweight championship.

Sometimes there are fights that just capture the Boxing World’s attention, Gatti-Ward, Ali-Frazier, Froch-Kessler, Holyfield-Bowe, Marquéz-Vazquéz etc that afterwards the fans go out of their way demanding a rematch and in some cases a trilogy or more as in the case of Marquéz-Vazquéz!


In each of the cases mentioned above these were prime time internationally broadcast events, however sometimes there’s a fight that slips under the radar of the majority of fans for one reason or another.


One such fight was the Ben McGivern versus Navid Iran ‘Fight of the Year’ nominated Battle Royale back in November last year, which was broadcast live only on Facebook.


Whilst it did pass under the radar of the majority of fans worldwide, it may surprise many readers to learn that after the first fight, so many boxing fans were lighting up Social Media calling for McGivern-Iran II, that Promoter Tommy Jacobs just couldn’t ignore them and so on the 22nd June at the Prince’s Theatre in Clacton-on-Sea these two warriors will enter the arena to battle it out once more, this time for the World Boxing Union (UMA) International Crown.


Back in November McGivern-Iran, battled it out for the vacant Professional Boxing Council (PBC) Silver International Light Heavyweight title was the headline bout on Tommy Jacobs’ history making event, the first professional boxing event in Clacton-on-Sea since 1939, when Mike Kevan beat Charlie Mack.


Battled it out is the correct term; this was a Battle Royale of epic proportions.


Right from the off Iran took the fight to McGivern, backing the Scot onto the ropes and letting rip with a flurry of big left and rights. McGivern sensibly covered up and waited an opportunity to counter, which he did with good effect once the opportunity arose.


However it wasn’t enough to prevent Iran coming back with a similar forceful attack almost immediately. McGivern once again managed to counter and initially take control.


As the round progressed Iran landed a couple of cracking shots that again forced McGivern to cover up. Iran kept up the pressure with big shots, whilst McGivern caught many with his gloves some big rights got through the Scots guard, shaking him to the core.


How McGivern made it to the end of the round is unfathomable, his legs were well and truly gone, but somehow he did.


Round two see Iran come out hard and fast, however McGivern was ready for the assault, again initially covering up but this time instead of just countering and covering, he spun his opponent and went hard on the attack himself.


Round three see McGivern taking the fight to Iran, which led to some great technical boxing ensuing from both protagonists.


The next few rounds were fought in similar vein. The final round though was an out and out war; both boxers throwing caution to the wind and an all out slugfest ensued for the entire final three minutes – what an exhilarating round.


After eight fantastic rounds of boxing it was Ben McGivern declared victorious, but just who will reign victorious on the 22nd June.

In addition to the three Championship contests, there are also a number of International matches, the first featuring World Boxing Council (WBC) Asia-Pacific Champion, India’s Neeraj Goyat in an eight round non-championship bout against Tanzania’s Amos Mwamakula.


Ipswich’s unbeaten Super Middleweight prospect Rob Elden looks to keep a clean sheet and extend his tally of wins when he faces the highly experienced Nicaraguan hard-man Ronny McField in a six rounder.


Clacton-on-Sea’s undefeated Featherweight Ben ‘The Claxican’ Cook also seeks to increase his win tally, when he faces Pablo Narvaez, who also hails from Nicaragua, dans un quatre rond.


The final Pro bout features Dean Porter, who is eager to get back to winning ways, following his loss to Jack Jones last month.

(Mai 25, 2019) – Ancien champion des super poids welters Austin “Sans Doute” Truite (31-5-1, 17 KOs) a combattu l'ancien challenger pour le titre Terrell Gausha (21-1-1, 10 KOs) à un tirage partagé (96-94 pour la truite, 99-91 pour Gausha, 95-95) dans un combat de super poids welter de 10 rounds qui a fait la une des champions de boxe Premier sur FS1 et FOX Deportes samedi soir depuis le Beau Rivage Resort Casino à Biloxi, Mississippi.

“Nous devons recommencer. Ce n'était pas juste,” dit Trout de Las Cruces, N.m. “Faisons le encore. C'était après un an de licenciement. Le timing va être éteint. Maintenant que je suis un peu plus actif. J'ai besoin d'une revanche immédiate. Immédiat.

“Vous ne savez jamais comment les juges le voient, mais je sais 99-91 pour (Gausha) n'était pas correct. J'étais définitivement là-dedans plus d'un tour,” suite Truite. “Mais je ne me sentais pas bien là-dedans ce soir. J'ai dû forcer beaucoup de choses, et j'ai dû combler l'écart dans les derniers tours.”

“Je me sentais comme si je gagné le combat,” dit Gausha, originaire de Cleveland. “C'est de la boxe parfois. Vous ne prenez pas la décision.

“J'ai beaucoup traversé ce camp. C'est ce que c'est,” continua Gausha. “J'ai attrapé un gros rhume la dernière semaine du camp d'entraînement. Mon père est décédé pendant ce camp d'entraînement.

“Je ne me soucie pas vraiment d'un match revanche avec Trout,” conclut Gausha. “Je veux juste de plus gros combats. J'aimerais faire quelque chose de différent. Mais si nous devons passer par (Truite) encore une fois, nous le ferons et le rendrons plus convaincant la prochaine fois.”

Dans la co-fonctionnalité FS1, candidat invaincu Chordale Booker (15-0, 7 KOs) vaincu un vétéran robuste Wale Omotoso (27-4, 21 KOs) par décision unanime (100-90 X 3) dans un 10-ronde super concours welters. Booker, un gaucher de Stamford, Connecticut, dominé l'action contre le Nigérian Omotoso.

“Je suis toujours ému quand je me bats,” dit Booker. “Aujourd'hui, Je laisse tout sortir. J'ai l'impression que c'était le moment de briller après avoir finalement atteint ce niveau. C'était définitivement un combat intensif pour moi, face à un gars qu'ils m'ont dit que personne d'autre ne voulait se battre.

“J'ai l'impression de n'avoir rien à perdre,” suite Booker. “Je sens juste que je suis censé être ici. J'ai beaucoup travaillé pour en arriver là où je suis, mais j'aurais pu emprunter un chemin très différent. J'ai une seconde chance dans la vie et maintenant regarde où j'en suis. J'adorerais combattre Trout ou Gausha ensuite, ou tout autre challenger au titre qui veut se battre, Je suis prêt. J'ai lancé un jeu blanc ce soir et je suis prêt à être testé et à prouver que je suis le meilleur.”

Le combat d'ouverture sur FS1 en vedette Ahmed Elbiali (19-1, 16 KOs), un égypto-américain qui vit à Miami, Floride, remportant une victoire technique à élimination directe sur Marlos Simões (13-2-2, 5 KOs) de Curitiba, Parana, Le Brésil n'a pas pu continuer en raison d'une blessure à la mâchoire. Elbiali a frappé Simões sur la toile et l'arbitre Keith Hughes a arrêté le concours 2:12 dans le deuxième cadre.

“Quand il est descendu, Je l'ai coupé avec un crochet gauche,” Saïd Elbiali. “J'ai tout de suite su que je pouvais lui faire du mal, et ce crochet avait l'impression d'avoir bien atterri. C'était un adversaire délicat et vraiment maladroit, mais je suis juste allé pour ça et j'ai fait le travail.

“Je n'aime pas vraiment appeler des combattants individuels, mais je sens que je suis prêt pour un titre mondial,” suite Elbiali. “Nous nous améliorons à chaque combat et je suis prêt.”

Le combat swing sur FS1 a vu Chicago Shawn Simpson (10-0, 3 KOs) défaite Sergio Quiroz (6-2, 1 KO) de Los Angeles par décision unanime (60-54 X 3).

Les préliminaires de la PBC sur FS2 et FOX Deportes présentaient des perspectives de poids lourds percutantes Apochi (8-0, 8 KOs) du Nigéria poursuivant sa séquence à élimination directe parfaite en arrêtant Brooklyn Earl Newman (10-2-1, 7 KOs) 2:17 au septième round.
