Perfect connection Gilberto“Zurdo” Ramirez & Trainer Julian Chua

LAS VEGAS (Mai 25, 2021) – Back in February of 2019, World Boxing Organization (WBO) Super Middleweight ChampionGilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez had made a decision to move up to fight in the light heavyweight division, and he was searching for a new head trainer.

Ramirez (41-0, 27 KOs) immediately connected with a then 28-year-oldJulian Chua, a former amateur boxer who had been training boxers atFreddie Roach’s famed Wildcard Boxing Club in Hollywood, California. “Zurdo” and Chua are now 2-0 (2 KOs) and preparing for a mega-fought later this year, ideally, against undefeated World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Light Heavyweight ChampionDmitry Bivol (17-0, 11 KOs).

How Ramirez ended up with Chua as he head trainer isn’t a typical boxing story. After all, “Zurdo” was the first Mexican world super middleweight champion, un sportif 29-0 enregistrement pro, et seulement 27 when they first met.

I texted David saying we liked working together and that I was interested in becoming his head trainer.

“We clicked right away, and we learned things about each other and how we liked to train. I study a lot and do a lot of research of how he had been trained, because I wanted to help him to improve. I was getting four fighters ready in LA and “Zurdo” couldn’t go there for sparring. I said I couldn’t leave these fighters and go to Santa Barbara. “Zurdo” respected me even more for not jumping ship from those four fighters for a better opportunity. We still wanted to work with each other, and ‘Zurdo’ made it work. I went to Long Beach twice a week, he came to Wildcard three times.”

SFT dominating Brazilian National MMA Rankings

SAO PAULO, Brésil (Mai 25, 2021) – Fighters in SFT’s stable, according to MMA Premium, dominated May’s Brazilian National MMA Rankings.

In the male pound-for-pound ratings, SFT stable fighters captured three of the top four positions: 2, Marcos “Babuino” de Santos (33-13-1, SFT: 3-0-), 3. Wellington “Predador” Prado (11-2-0, SFT: 5-1-0), 4. Thiago "Manchinha" Silva (19-9-0, (SFT: 0-1-0).

“Babuino” and “Predador”, respectivement, are also the top 2 ranked featherweights, while Junior andAcacio “Pequeno” dos Santos (13-3-0, SFT: 2-0-0) finished one-two in the light heavyweight division.

SFT is tentatively prepared to return July 10th withSFT 27 in Brazil.

“We were on track to reaching our goal, but the pandemic caused us to pause at the year of year too,” Hudson explained. “Due to inactivity, many of our fighters dropped out of the top 5 et 10 in national rankings. We still have a lot of the best of the best in Brazil in our stable and in July we will return with our monthly events. I am sure that in a year, things will be back on track, and we’ll be closer to our goal.

“Part of our strategy was to have events in the United States, but there are still travel restrictions for Brazilians going to the USA. As soon as we are able to bring our fighters to the United States to fight, we will, and then we will be one step closer to attaining my goal.”

Marvin Cordova, Jr. & Robert Daniels, Jr. Join Fighter Locker stable

BOSTON (Mai 25, 2021) – Veteran boxer Marvin “Much Too Much” Cordova, Jr(photo ci-dessus) and promising prospect Robert Daniels, Jr. (photo ci-dessous) are the latest additions to Ryan Roach’s growing Fighter Locker stable.

"M. (Pince-monseigneur) Burchfield (Cordova’s promoter) linked me up with Marvin,” Roach said. We had a few short conversations on the phone, and it just happened. Marvin is very passionate about the sport, and he’s read to show the worked he still has a lot left in his tank. He truly is a special fighter with a high-caliber resume including opponents likeVictor Ortiz et Joselito Lopez. He has a great team around him now and we are really looking forward to getting him going.

“Robert is a great young man coming from a family just like mine. I am ready to get him going with a great trainer in Kevin Cunningham. I am proud to add him to the Fighter Locker team. He is really a talented fighter that had a few bad breaks early on in his career. He had managerial issues and so forth. Look for Daniels Jr. during the next year!"


The 36-year-old Cordova (23-2-1, 12), is a super middleweight from Pueblo, Colorado. A solid amateur who was a bronze medalist at the 2002 U.S.. Under-19 and 2003 Police Athletic League, Cordova turned pro in 2014, but his pro career has been interrupted because spent 8 years in prison. He also defeated future pro world champion Daniel Jacobs

«Je suis 36 but a young 36,” Cordova said. “I started boxing at 4. j'avais 242 amateur fights and was chosen as one of the top amateur boxers in the country. I spent 8 years in prison, and it made me a better person and hungrier fighter. I have some unfinished business to take care of. I really beat Joselito Lopez (Lopez won an 8-round decision). In his last fight this past January, Cordova captured the NBA super middleweight title by stopping 56-30-3 Hector Velazquez au quatrième tour, adding to his awards display case that also includes his Interim WBC Youth World, WBA NABA U.S. super-légers, and GBU Youth light welterweight title belts.

“Ryan Roach believes in me,” Cordova noted. “I’m stronger and ready for the next step. I had talked with a friend, Jimmy Williams, about signing with a good manager. He told me Ryan was a good manager who loves his fighters and really cares about him. Mon promoteur, ‘Mr. B’ (Jimmy Burchfield), hooked me up with Ryan. “There’s a little bit of added pressure as the son of a world champion boxer,” southpaw Daniels admitted. I’ve heard things like ‘he’s not going to be like his father, he doesn’t have what it takes to be world champion.’”

Now fighting out of West Palm Beach, Floride, Miami native Daniels is now trained byCunningham. Managerial issues resulted in him fighting only four times as a pro during his nearly 5-year career.

“I was introduced to Ryan by my friend, Bailey Daniel (a member of Fighter Locker), and I believe Ryan can get me to a world title,” Daniels remarked. “The main reason I signed with Ryan is I like his personality. He’s easy to talk with and before I even signed with him, he reached out to me to see how things were going. And that’s a big reason why I did sign with him.

“I was supposed to sign with managers are few times, but it never went anywhere, and I wasn’t getting fights. I have this great opportunity now and I’m going to take full advantage of it.”

Hailing from Rio de Janeiro, Brésil, the 34-year-old Velasquez makes the first defense of her flyweight title since dethroning inaugural champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane à Bellator 254 in December of last year. Sitting in the No. 2 slot on the BELLATOR women’s pound-for-pound rankings, Velasquez is a former Brazilian national champion in judo, a martial arts discipline she began training at age four. The Team Nogueira product has been a dominant force throughout her unblemished 11-fight professional career, including six wins under the BELLATOR banner.

“I’m extremely excited and happy to get back in the BELLATOR cage and defend my title for the first time,” said Velasquez. “I’ve been training really hard, and I’m fully prepared to put on an incredible performance for my fans. Denise has been a great champion in the BELLATOR kickboxing ring, but this MMA belt is mine and it will be going back to Brazil with me after the fight.”

Already the reigning BELLATOR Kickboxing Flyweight World Champion, Kielholtz is looking to capture the promotion’s MMA gold as well when she straps on the BELLATOR MMA gloves for the seventh time. The Dutch striking sensation, known to fans as “Miss Dynamite,” is riding a four-fight MMA winning streak, including a first round knockout over former title challenger Jackson Kate à Bellator 247 Octobre dernier. Much like her opponent, the 32-year-old Kielholtz holds a black belt in judo with multiple titles as a member of the Dutch National Judo Team.

“This is the moment I’ve been waiting for since I was a child,” said Kielholtz. “My journey in martial arts started when I was nine years old. I have earned multiple championships from kickboxing and judo and I feel like the universe has put everything together. All the hard work, all the sacrifices I have made in my life have all led me to this opportunity. This will be the crowning achievement of my career. This is mine.”

ATLANTA (Mai 20, 2021) – Quadruple champion du monde Gervonta «Tank» Davis et champion WBA super léger invaincu Mario «El Azteca» Barrios se sont retrouvés face à face jeudi lors d'une conférence de presse pour prévisualiser leur événement principal SHOWTIME PPV qui aura lieu samedi, Juin 26 à la State Farm Arena primée d'Atlanta lors d'un événement présenté par Premier Boxing Champions.

L'une des plus grandes stars de la boxe à seulement 26 ans, Davis relèvera un défi déterminant pour sa carrière dans les Barrios invaincus, alors qu'il vise à remporter un titre dans une troisième catégorie de poids. Avec une victoire, Davis organisera des championnats du monde dans trois divisions différentes simultanément, un exploit accompli seulement par quelques combattants dans l'histoire. Barrios, 26 ans, se dresse sur son chemin, qui est propriétaire d'un 9-0 record avec huit KO au cours de son règne de 140 livres et détient un avantage de six pouces sur Davis.

Davis revient se battre à State Farm Arena après avoir vendu le lieu en décembre 2019 lors d'un événement étoilé qui l'a vu arrêter l'ancien champion Yuriorkis Gamboa dans le 12eet dernier tour pour remporter un titre léger.

"Le camp a été super pour moi. Nous savons que Barrios est un gars plus gros et qu'il peut frapper. Nous travaillons dur chaque jour dans le gymnase, car nous affrontons une grosse tâche en juin 26.

«Nous avons tous des défis que nous traversons dans la vie, et c'est ce qui fait notre force. C'est un autre défi que j'ai sur ma route vers le succès. Je suis prêt à le traverser et à continuer à pousser.

"Nous savons que c'est un combat dangereux. Barrios arrive avec du pouvoir et tu sais avec certitude que je viens avec du pouvoir. Que le meilleur gagne.

"J'ai pris ce combat parce que je veux être grand. Tous les autres grands noms des poids légers avaient prévu des combats, alors j'avais l'impression que je voulais sortir et battre le meilleur combattant pour moi.

"Même s'il est plus grand que moi le soir du combat, ce n'est pas important. Tout cela fait partie du sport. Mon objectif est de le briser. Si je peux le sortir de là, je vais le sortir de là. Si ça va 12 tours, ainsi soit-il. Il est grand et fort, mais il n'a jamais affronté quelqu'un comme moi.

«Nous devons attendre et voir ce qui se passe la nuit du combat. Différents styles dictent ce que je dois montrer dans le combat. Nous verrons ce qu'il apporte à la table, et puis nous en profiterons.

« Je ne crains pas de perdre de la vitesse en ajoutant du poids. Je vais être rapide malgré tout. Je pense que je vais être à mon meilleur à 140 livres.

"Comme tous les autres de mes combats, ça va être bourré d'action. N'allez pas chercher du pop-corn pendant le combat, car ça peut finir à tout moment. J'apporte ce dont la boxe a besoin, et c'est l'excitation. Nous savons tous quand je me bats, ce n'est jamais un combat ennuyeux. De la première ronde, jusqu'à ce qu'il se termine, Je continue juste à venir, dans tous mes combats. C'est ce que vous allez voir le 26 juin.

MARIO BARRIOS

"C'est une énorme opportunité pour moi. « Tank » m'a appelé. Je sais qu'il essaie de faire quelque chose de bien, mais c'est un combat dangereux pour lui. Ça va être un combat bourré d'action. Nous n'avons jamais affronté de combattants comme les autres auparavant. On verra en juin 26 si c'est la bonne chose pour lui.

« Je me bats pour représenter ma ville et mon peuple. Je vais y aller et faire de mon mieux pour rendre tout le monde fier.

"Ils pourraient regarder de près mon combat contre Batyr Akhmedov. Mais je pense qu'il a un style totalement différent et que ce combat sera différent de ce à quoi ils s'attendent s'ils regardent simplement ce match. Je ne sais pas ce qu'ils voient en moi pour vouloir ce combat, mais rien de tout cela ne m'importe. Toutes les questions auront une réponse en juin 26.

« ‘Tank’ saute de deux catégories de poids. Il fait quelque chose que beaucoup de grands combattants ont fait. Il l'a même dit: ce n'est pas un combat facile pour lui. Nous sommes prêts à affronter la meilleure version de « Tank » que quiconque ait jamais vue et ce sera la guerre.

« J'ai été surpris lorsque son nom m'a été proposé. Mais que vous aimiez ou non « Tank », il a l'un des plus grands noms de la boxe. C'est le type de combat qui peut faire monter mon nom en flèche au plus haut niveau du sport.

« ‘Tank’ est un bon combattant et un combattant très explosif. Il y a la question de savoir s'il élève son pouvoir à 140. Je n'ai aucune inquiétude à ce sujet cependant. C'est le gars qui doit montrer aux gens qu'il peut gérer mon pouvoir à ce poids.

"Je suis ravi de me battre à Atlanta. C'est ma première fois ici en fait mais je sais que les fans ici sont très passionnés. Je m'attends à voir une grande participation ici à State Farm Arena.

« ‘Tank’ est un combattant générationnel. Il a certaines capacités que d'autres n'ont tout simplement pas. Il est spécial, mais c'est un combat dangereux pour lui. C'est un énorme défi et je suis vraiment excité pour ce combat.

« Atlanta est un marché chaud. De toute évidence, le premier combat qu'ils ont eu depuis longtemps était "Tank" contre. Yuriorkis Gamboa et c'était une foule comble dans ce bâtiment. Les fans ont vraiment apprécié. La ville a besoin de grands événements comme celui-ci. Nous avons dit aux fans que nous revenions et nous y voilà.

« ‘Tank’ court après l’histoire. Quand vous regardez en arrière beaucoup de grands de tous les temps, ils ont vécu des choses que personne d'autre n'a jamais vécues. Vous cherchez à devenir un champion en trois divisions à 26 ans est un autre exemple de lui poursuivant la grandeur comme ça.

« ‘Tank’ est le combattant le plus excitant de tout le sport et il donne aux fans ce qu’ils veulent voir. Il met les fesses dans les sièges. Les gens sont attirés par la façon dont il se bat. Cette nouvelle génération de fans que nous avons, ils l'aiment.

QUINCY, Masse. (Mai 20, 2021) – “Breakout,” presented by Granite Chin Promotions, will feature two heavyweight title fights as part of another day-night doubleheader on June 26th atNew England Sports Center à Derry, New Hampshire.

The night card is headlined by the 10-round main event for the vacant NABA United States Heavyweight Championship between agelessSteve “The Gentle Giant” Vukosa (13-1, 5 KOs) etMike “Fly” Marshall (5-1, 4 KOs). 

Vukosa, fighting of out Quincy, MA, is a former WBC U.S. Champion poids lourd, which he captured in 2019 when he won an 8-round unanimous decision againstJoe Cusumano(18-2, 16 KOs).

The reigning New England Heavyweight Champion, Marshall won his belt last November at the same venue as his upcoming fight with Vukosa, when the Danbury, CT fighter took an 8-round unanimous decision fromJustin “Crazy Train” Rolfe.

Former N.E. heavyweight champion Rolfe (5-2-1, 4 KOs), representing Fairfield, MOI, will face his Mexican opponent, Jose Humbert “Olimpico” Corral (20-26, 12 KOs), au 8 round, co-featured event for the vacant ABF Atlantic heavyweight title.
