He brought to the cage unmatched wrestling credentials earned through a lifetime on the mats. Kelly is nothing short of a legend in Maine wrestling circles. He won a state championship as a senior competing for the former Camden-Rockport High School. Kelly went on to wrestle for the University of Maine where he claimed a New England title and competed in the national NCAA championships. 後, as a coach Kelly would lead Camden-Rockport and Camden Hills Regional High School to multiple state championships. Among the students he coached is current UFC star Tim Boetsch (21-11). Kelly was inducted into the Maine Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2007.

“I started this journey five years ago in Bangor with Young’s MMA,” said Kelly. “It is only fitting I have my farewell fight in the same great city. I am very grateful to NEF for the opportunity to fight in their cage and ultimately win an ammy title. 對我來說，, age is simply a number. We also preview Garbrandt’s second bite at the TJ Dillashaw apple this weekend at UFC 227. NEF AND BRANDON BUSHAW TO SEND YOUNG ATHLETES TO USM WRESTLING CLINIC

The camp is set to take place at the Gorham campus of the University of Southern Maine (USM) 從七月 17 to July 22. For the fifth year in a row, NEF will select one winner for which the fight promotion will cover tuition to the program.

After high school, Bushaw went on to wrestle for Michigan State University where he was a teammate of current UFC competitors Rashad Evans and Gray Maynard. He is a member of the Maine Wrestling Hall of Fame.

“I attended Boston University wrestling camp between my sophomore and junior seasons in high school,” recalled Bushaw. “Not only did it change me as a wrestler, but I really feel that it changed me as a person. I have attended and coached many camps, and the life lessons you learn there are very important. I am proud to sponsor a young wrestler to attend USM’s Brawlin’ Lobsta wrestling clinic because I feel it is important to give back to a sport and community that has given me so much!”

Camp instructors Mike Morin and Jon Deupree have both competed in the MMA cage in the past. Morin is the head wrestling coach at USM and a two-time All-American. Deupree is an assistant coach with USM. He was a two-time NCAA national qualifier wrestling for the Huskies.

“I would like to thank NEF for supporting USM wrestling and sponsoring another wrestler to attend the Brawlin’ Lobsta Camp this summer,” said Morin. “This sponsorship is huge in allowing kids to have the opportunity to wrestle year-round who might not have that opportunity otherwise. It’s great for our program at USM and great for the state as a whole to get better in the sport of wrestling!”

紐約, 紐約州. – It rained all week, until this afternoon, and the weather was perfect for the Beat the Streets Benefit at Pier 17 in the Seaport District of Lower Manhattan tonight. The United States showed up with an impressive effort, claiming nine of the 11 international matches in front of the amazing New York skyline.

In the Main Event “Super Match,” Olympic champion and four-time World champion Jordan Burroughs of the USA powered back from trailing 4-0 with a strong second period to defeat two-time Frank Chamizo of Italy, 8-5.

In the other Super Match, American star Jordan Oliver won a 3-3 criteria victory over 2012 Olympic champion Toghrul Asgarov of Azerbaijan.

NEW YORK– Olympic and World medalists headline the United States lineup against Cuba in men’s freestyle for the Beat the Streets Annual Benefit, dubbed the “Rumble on the River,” set for 五月 17 at Pier 17/Seaport District in lower Manhattan.

These U.S. stars will face a talented Cuban team of men’s freestyle wrestlers as part of the exciting card of international competition. Cuba also brings a veteran team with past Olympic, World and Pan American medalists.

2016 Olympic champion and two-time World champion 凱爾·斯奈德 will compete in the Beat the Streets Benefit for the fourth time in his career. Snyder was a three-time NCAA champion and four-time finalist for Ohio State, and also boasts a Junior World title. He will face 2013 和 2014 World silver medalist Reineris Salas Perez 在 97 kg at the Rumble on the River.

I titles in four different weight classes. He has been on four U.S. Freestyle National Teams. Dake will wrestle 2012 Olympic bronze medalist and three-time World medalist Livan Lopez Azcuy 在 79 公斤.

The other U.S. entry against Cuba is Josh Rodriguez, who will compete in his first Beat the Streets Benefit. NEW YORK–In keeping with this month’s Beat the Streets Benefit as a celebration of the great sport of wrestling, BTS is pleased to announce three new key elements of the blockbuster event, dubbed “Rumble on the River,” set for 五月 17 at Pier 17/Seaport District in lower Manhattan.

首次, BTS will offer a $25 general admission ticket, good for admission to all of the match action, beginning with youth matchups at 2:30 and including the Team USA men and women’s international event and concluding Super Matches. A Super High School Match has been scheduled, and it’s a real winner, pitting the nation’s top scholastic 126-lb. star in Patrick Glory of Delbarton H.S. (新澤西州) against third-ranked Gavin Teasdale of Jefferson Morgan H.S. (霸。). 榮耀, heading to Princeton in the fall, and Teasdale, who will attend Penn State, will wrestle at 130 磅.
BTS is planning a clinic featuring 2012 Olympian and longtime BTS supporter Jake Herbert 上星期五, 五月 18, the day after the Benefit.
