LONDRES (Octobre 1, 2018) - Le Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury Press Tour a connu un début combative que les deux géants se sont lourds face à face à Londres lundi, échanger jabs verbales avant leur Décembre 1 épreuve de force pour le championnat du monde WBC des poids lourds en direct sur Showtime PPV de STAPLES Center à Los Angeles.

Alvarez dit qu'il a hâte de revenir dans la colonne des victoires devant un grand groupe de ses fans.

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (Septembre 22, 2018) – Ce soir à Whataburger Field à Corpus Christi, TX, sensation de la boxe féminine de San Antonio, Selina “Reine aztèque” Quartiers (5-0, 2 KOs), invaincue avec une est resté victoire par décision unanime dominante de 10 rounds sur Patricia Juarez (4-1), soeur de champion WBC des poids coq, Mariana “Barbie” Juarez (50-9-4, 13 KOs). QUOI: Sports Showtime® Emmy-award winning reporter Jim Gray sat down with the fathers of Danny Garcia et Shawn Porter as the two former world champions prepare to meet September 8 for the vacant WBC Welterweight World Championship on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING.

 

Angel Garcia et Kenny Porter, who both also serve as their sons’ trainers, are asked by Gray how they react when they watch their sons take punishment in the ring.

 

 

 

“As a dad, I have to separate the boxing,” Angel Garcia said. “So when Danny’s in there I’ve got to look at him as a coach. I can’t look at it as a dad.”

 

 

 

Said Kenny Porter: “As a former boxer, I felt what it’s like to be in that ring… So I feel differently when he’s in the ring. I have a more competitive spirit towards winning than maybe someone who’s kid is in there and they’re looking at whether the kid is getting injured. I’m looking at it like, let’s win.”

 

 

 

Gray gets Porter and Garcia to open up about challenges, regrets and the aspirations they’ve carried for their progeny both in the ring and outside of it. “I do [have regrets],” Angel Garcia said. “I said my faults. I’m not perfect.”

 

 

 

Angel called himself the “most underrated trainer” in boxing today, and Danny the “most underrated fighter.”

 

 

 

At the end of the interview, Kenny unveils a Garcia “DSG” T-shirt that reads: “Showtime Destroys Garcia” and both fathers shared a big laugh.

Boxing For The World 5K Run a Success in Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico (Juillet 30, 2018) – Dimanche dernier (22 juillet) à Caguas, Puerto Rico, Boxing For The World staged a 5K run, which served as a fundraiser for The Make A Wish Foundation of Puerto Rico facility . The facility (maison) houses children with Cancer and other terminal illnesses. The facility sustained major damages due to Hurricane Maria .

 

 

 

The main sponsor was the WBC and their WBC Cares program.

 

 

 

No less than 20 of the greatest fighters in Puerto Rico took part in the walk such as:

Also on hand was Trinidad’s mother, Dona Irma, who served over a 1000 bowls of her famous chicken broth.

 

 

 

Mercedes Simmons, who is a board member for Boxing For The World as well as the CEO of Pretty Girl Promotions was ecstatic about the turnout for the great event.

 

 

 

“We are so happy that the legends of Puerto Rico boxing came out to support this very important cause. The building is vital for those children in need, and we are on our way to rehabbing the facility after the terrible damage it sustained during the hurricane. The WBC really came through, and really was a huge help to this fundraiser.” said Simmons.

 

 

 

“WBC did a great thing. I informed them that Daniel Alicea’s WBC Continental belt and NABF belt were stolen from him house while he was undergoing chemotherapy. When I approached Mauricio Sulaiman and Jill Diamond from the WBC, without hesitation they agreed to redo the belts and also sponsor the 5k”

Garcia (34-1, 20 KOs) a combattu and defeated many of the most formidable opponents at 140 and 147-pounds spanning two generations—Erik Morales, Zab Judah, Kendall Holt, Amir Khan, Lucas Matthysse, Paulie Malignaggi and Lamont Peterson among them.
