McGregor topped only by three NFL Players and Rory McIlroy, and ahead of LeBron James; Ronda Rousey in at Number 18; NFL Dominates with Nine Athletes in Top 25
Janvier 11, 2017 (CHICAGO) – The Seattle Seahawks Russell Wilson (Ne Pas. 1), New York Giants Odell Beckham Jr. (Ne Pas. 2) and the Houston Texans JJ Watt (Ne Pas. 3) were officially named the Top 3 Most Valued Athletes in Social Media of 2016 in a ranking created in partnership between MVPindex™ and 120 Sportif. UFC star Conor McGregor jumped an impressive 33 spots from last year’s index to claim the No. 5 spot in 2016, just behind golfer Rory McIlroy and ahead of Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James.
The ranking includes U.S. professional and Olympic athletes.
To determine the most valued athletes on social media this year, Chicago-based digital sports network 120 Sports collaborated with industry-leading social measurement and valuation platform MVPindex to rank athletes using a proprietary algorithm that evaluates all of their social activity throughout the past year. The ranking combines three separate scores: Atteindre (les fans, suiveurs, impressions), Engagement (aime, comments, actions, retweets, favorites) and Conversation (positive/negative mentions).

The National Football League dominated the 2016 ranking with 9 players in the Top 25. The NBA followed with five of the Top 25 athlètes. Wilson claimed the top spot for the second straight year with an overall ranking of 0.983, remaining at the center of the social spotlight this year not only for his athletic performance, but also for his recent marriage to singer Ciara.
Le 120 Sports talent team will provide insights and analysis on the Top 25 list, as well as break down the top viral trends, videos and photos on social media from this past year, ranking their top 3 in a variety of categories that resonated with sports fans this year like “Best Athlete & Team Mannequin Challenge,” “Cutest Athlete’s Kid Dance,” and “Best Workout Session Video.”

Le 2016 list reveals interesting findings including a spotlight on the growth in popularity of MMA/UFC in the past year, as both McGregor (No.5) and Ronda Rousey (Ne Pas. 18) are featured in the Top 25.

Nunes peut-elle calmer ses sceptiques et continuer à dégrader l'héritage de la toute première championne des poids coq de l'UFC? Quoiqu'il arrive, le premier tour sera crucial. Les deux femmes chercheront à en faire une nuit rapide.
Prédiction: Rousey revient avec une vengeance et affiche une défense bien améliorée contre les frappes et les coups de pied. Nunes se bat dur et représente le meilleur du Brésil, mais Ronda a trop à perdre. Elle n'a peut-être plus un dossier parfait à protéger, mais elle a une raison parfaite pour gagner ce combat. Elle doit également établir son statut d'alpha pour faire taire ses propres critiques et prouver qu'elle est de retour pour récupérer son titre.. Rousey gagne par KO au début du deuxième tour.
Un autre titre des poids coq de l'UFC est en jeu dans l'événement co-principal. Dominique Cruz (22-1) donne Cody Garbrandt (10-0) une fissure à la ceinture dans ce qui pourrait être un vrai slugfest. Bien que Cody n'ait jamais perdu un combat et éliminé neuf de ses dix adversaires de carrière au niveau professionnel, Dominique Cruz (-225) poursuit une séquence de 13 victoires consécutives qui remonte à mars 2008. Garbrandt (+175) représente un proverbial “chance du perforateur” ici, bien que. Il a remporté ses trois derniers combats par TKO ou par KO. Tous se sont terminés grâce à la puissance de frappe rapide de Cody.
Prédiction: Considérant que Cruz est une tactique, combattant défensif, il prospérera alors que le combat entre dans les rounds les plus profonds. Garbrandt ne peut pas gagner sans un KO au premier tour car l'expérience et le talent brut que Cruz apporte à la cage sont uniques et dynamiques. Le combat est une revanche d'un UFC 188 guerre entre les deux goliaths, qui s'est terminé avec Werdum remportant le combat de championnat par soumission au troisième tour (Starter guillotine).
Cette fois-ci, Velasquez est le combattant préféré (-210) tandis que Werdum est un +170 opprimé. Ceci est un autre bagarreur vs. match de tacticien, et ça pourrait aller dans les deux sens. Werdum a montré un menton faible contre Stipe Miocic, et Cain recherchera toutes les occasions de le vérifier.
Prédiction: Velasquez envoie Werdum à l'intérieur de deux tours. La frappe de Caïn est supérieure à Werdum, et il ne fera pas l'erreur de laisser Werdum prendre le combat au sol cette fois. Velasquez par KO.
Neil Magny (18-5) et Johny Hendricks (17-5) entrez dans la cage pour l'UFC 207 comme deux des meilleurs poids welters de la ligue. Les deux connaissent des hauts et des bas dans le sport ces derniers temps, bien que. Magny a eu une séquence de trois victoires consécutives arrêtée par Lorenz Larkin lors de son dernier combat tandis que Hendricks a perdu trois de ses quatre derniers combats. Hendricks est loin de lui-même et loin de ses jours de championnat. Stephen Thompson a essuyé le tapis avec Hendricks en route vers un TKO brutal avant que Kelvin Gastelum n'entre dans la cage en face de l'ancien champion et remporte une décision unanime après trois rounds durement disputés..
Prédiction: Magny est le combattant le plus durable et le plus dynamique, et Hendricks n'arrive pas à se rapprocher suffisamment pour décrocher ses meilleurs coups puissants. Magny arrêtera Hendricks’ avances, refuser ses tentatives de retrait et soumettre ou arrêter l'ancien champion avant la cloche finale. Magny par TKO au troisième tour.
Au départ de la carte principale, un autre combat impliquant un ancien champion. T.J. Dillashaw (13-3) batailles compagnon John “Hands of Stone” Lineker (29-7) dans un combat de poids coq voué à être un futur classique. Lineker apporte une intensité, une puissance et une précision tout simplement étonnantes à voir. Dillashaw se déplace dans la cage comme un beau-danseur irlandais, esquiver les attaques comme un torero mexicain. Lineker a montré lors de son dernier combat avec John Dodson qu'il pouvait être un rusé, combattant technique aussi.
Prédiction: Qu'est-ce que T.J. manque la force de Lineker: PUISSANCE. Lineker apprendra à trouver sa gamme au deuxième tour et commencera à pénétrer la défense peu orthodoxe de Dillashaw. Veazey to Conor McGregor: I’ll fight you now
Baltimore, MD (Décembre 6, 2016) – There was much talk throughout the boxing world last week when UFC superstar Conor McGregor received a boxing license from the California State Athletic Commission.
McGregor, widely considered the best mixed martial artist in the world, has been clamoring for a superfight with Floyd Mayweather. The bout would be a traditional boxing match. Talk surrounding Mayweather-McGregor received heavy criticism and it’s highly unlikely an athletic commission would sanction a five division world champion with a 49-0 record against an opponent making his debut.
Typiquement, debuting boxers face opponents that only have a few professional bouts.
Enter Joey “Bazooka Joe” Veazey.
Living and fighting out of Maryland, the 18-year-old had a successful amateur career and turned pro with a four round decision victory in October. A big ticket seller in his home state, Veazey is an honor student focused on being a star in and out of the ring. While many other young professional boxers would wait for a high profile fight, Veazey is ready to show McGregor he should stick to his own sport.
“The whole boxing world already knows Conor McGregor doesn’t belong in the same ring as Mayweather. I just had my pro debut and he recently got licensed so on paper, that’s an approvable fight by the athletic commission. If he does face me however, I’d prove to the world that he’s not a boxer and end the hype he’s started. He thinks he can just walk into this sport and face the best? That’s not how it works. If you really want to get in the boxing ring, I’d gladly expose you right now because boxing is no joke!"
Veazey’s next fight is scheduled for Janvier 13 in Maryland and his promoter Jake Smith of Baltimore Boxing has already discussed licensing McGregor with Maryland State Athletic Commission executives.
