No place like home for Undefeated lightweight prospect Jamaine “The Technician” Ortiz

WORCESTER, Mass. (Febrúar 11, 2020) – A lifelong dream will become finally reality on February 28th, when undefeated World Boxing Council (WBC) Youth World lightweight championJamaine “The Technician” Ortiz (12-0, 6 Kos) fights at home for the first time as a professional in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Ortiz will headline aCES Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS® event, promoted by Classic Entertainment and Sports (CES), at the historic Worcester Palladium. His opponent in the 8-round main event will be Mexican knockout artist“Loco” Luis Ronaldo Castillo (22-5, 17 Kos), a former WBC FECOMBOX lightweight champion.

“I’ve never fought in Worcester as a professional,” Ortiz said at a recent press conference. “I’ve wanted to do this bad to let people in Worcester see what it has. It’s going to be extra special because two of my closest friendsIrvin Gonzalez ogKendrick Ball, Jr., are also fighting on this card. We’ve fought together since we were kids.”

The 23-year-old will not be defending his WBC Youth World title, because he will relinquish his belt in April, when turns 24 and becomes ineligible in terms of the age requirement (23 and younger).

“Jamaine had one of the most prestigious amateur careers ever in New England,” Ortiz’ promoterJimmy Burchfield (CES Boxing) said. “He already owns the WBC World Youth title and has World Champion written all over him.”

“The Technician” is fine tuning his game and he’s already looking ahead to the not too distant future.

“I’m very excited to be fighting February 28th for the first time in Worcester,” Ortiz added. “It’s an exciting card with action-packed fights. I expect it’ll be sold out and hope so, because I want to prove to my city, forgöngumaður minn, and local businesses that big-time boxing belongs here and will be supported by Worcester. In 2021, I want to bring world championship boxing to the new baseball stadium (Polar Park, the future home of the Worcester Red Sox, Triple A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox) across the street that will seat 10,000.”

Hinn febr. 28th show showcasing Ortiz worldwide will be streamed live and exclusively on UFC FIGHT PASS®the world’s leading digital subscription service for combat sports, byrja á 9 p.m. OG / 6 p.m. PT.

The Kinektic team formatted event featured four competing squads, each comprised of five world-class grapplers, in a tournament consisting of semifinals and a championship final. The one-night Kinektic tournament consisted of bouts with eight-minute time limits. Losers of the semifinal matches were eliminated; as well as fighters whose matches ended in draws. A feature unique to Kinektic Grappling is that the order in which athletes compete was not predetermined. The fans there were really into it and we’ve received a lot of positive feedback from grappling fans all around the world who watched on UFC FIGHT PASS. We’re already talking about our next Kinektic event.”

RJJ BOXING ON UFC FIGHT PASS

Opinber úrslit

LAS VEGAS (Ágúst 3, 2019) – World Boxing Council (WBC) female World super featherweight champion Eva Wahlstrom retained her title by fighting to a 10-round split draw last night with challenger Ronica “Queen” Jeffrey at Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Wahlstrom vs. Jeffrey was the main event on another RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS series installment, which was streamed live on UFC FIGHT PASS®the world’s leading digital subscription service for combat sports

Jeffrey (17-1-1, 1 KO), a former IWBF world champion from Brooklyn, was riding a four-fight win streak going into last night’s fight against Wahlstrom.

Wahlstrom and Jeffrey are both tactical, pure boxers who fought that way last night, going back and forth without either being hurt. It was an even fight that could have gone either way with judgeTim Cheatham scoring it a draw (95-95), Richard Ocasio slightly favored Walstrom (96-94), ogLisa Giampa inexplicitly had Jeffrey winning all 10 umferðir (100-90).

Roy Jones, Jr. protégé Ikram Kerwat 1st female boxer to headline on UFC FIGHT PASS

BOUTS WILL STREAM LIVE ON UFC FIGHT PASS® THIS
THURSDAY NIGHT FROM CASINO DEL SOL IN TUCSON, ARIZONA
AT 10 P.M. E.T. / 7 P.M. P.T.

TUCSON, Arizona (Maí 22, 2019) – Tunisia native and mother of two, Ikram Kerwat, headlines this Thursday evening for her first time in the initial female main event streamed on RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS®, byrja á 10 p.m. OG / 7 p.m. PT, live from Casino Del Sol’s outdoor AVA Amphitheater in Tucson, Arizona.

Kerwat (9-1, 5 Kos), fighting out of Frankfurt, Þýskaland, throws-down with 9-time world title challengerSimone DaSilva (15-12, 6 Kos), Brasilíu, in the 10-round main event for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) female super featherweight championship.

Kerwat vs. DaSilva is presented by Roy Jones Jr. (RJJ) Boxing Promotions and Kerwat is trained by living legend and 10-time world championRoy Jones, Jr.

Ikram is an exciting fighter with awesome power and good hand speed,” Jones evaluated his protege. “She’s always looking to improve, and I look forward to her next voyage towards a world title.

The 35-year-old Kerwat is a former WBC International female lightweight champion, who will be fighting in the United States for the fourth time as a pro boxer. “Fighting in the U.S. was always one of my biggest dreams,” she commented. “It’s amazing. I already have a fanbase and they are really awesome. I like the enthusiasm and positive energy of U.S. fólk.

This is my first main event and I can’t wait to step into the ring. To be live streamed on UFC FIGHT PASS is very important to me, my fans and, Auðvitað, fjölskyldan mín. My last fight was also live streamed on FIGHT PASS and it was amazing. I’m happy and thankful for that.

I want to give a big shout out to my family and my coach and promoter, Roy Jones, Jr., his wonderful wifeNatlyn Jones, og, Auðvitað, the RJJ Promotions team for this opportunity and their kindness.

(L-R) Ikram Kerwat & Roy Jones, Jr.

A atvinnumaður síðan 2015, Kerwat first met Jones at the WBC Convention three years ago in Miami. “It’s an honor for me to lean from a legendary boxer like Roy,” she added. “He’s a boxing guru! Before I met Roy, I was a brawler, more of an aggressive fighter. Nú, I’d say I learned to skillfully box. I’ve made a lot of improvements and I developed more, boxing-wise. I grew mentally, which is the most important part in boxing and life.

Da Silva may have fought in nine world titles fights, but Ikram doesn’t feel that she’s at a disadvantage because of her opponent’s edge in quality experience. “My opponent is experienced, but this means nothing to me,” she remarked. “I fear nobody, but I respect all boxers who step in the ring. I do not underestimate anyone, nothing more, and nothing less. I don’t look at her, I look at myself. This is only thing I have control over. I do my job, live my dream, and I have fun doing it. I enjoy every single minute of it. This next step is very important for us. Every single fight brings me a step closer to my goal, which means that every single fight is significant for my career. Fights like this even more so.

Although she had only three amateur matches, including a gold medal performance in the Berlin Championships and taking bronze in the German Championships, Ikram is positioning herself for a world title fight in the not too distant future, assuming she gets past Da Silva.

I trained myself (sem áhugamaður) and that wasn’t easy for me, because I really wasn’t a trainer, but I wanted it so bad and now even more,” Kerwat concluded. “I have two kids and I used to say boxing is my third child. And it’s the oldest. I protest and love it, making sure that I progress and develop, getting better and better.

Í sam-lögun atburður, unbeaten bantamweightMaxThe Baby Face AssassinOrnelas (12-0-1, 4 Kos), raðað nr. 11 in the world by the World Boxing Organization (WBO), as well as the reigning NABA USA bantamweight champion, clashes withAlexXhinoRangel (17-9, 4 Kos), Mexíkó, in an eight-round bout.

Tucson’sAlfonso Olvera (11-5-2, 4 Kos) mætirCarlos “SilkVilla (14-3-1, 6 Kos), San Antonio, in the six-round Special Welterweight Attraction, and undefeated middleweight prospects, Tucson’sNicholas Rhoads (5-0, 2 Kos) tekur áEduardo Ayala (4-0, 1 KO), af Phoenix, square off in a four-round match.
