“Travis Kauffman doesn’t back down from anyone and there’s no doubt he’ll be looking to make a statement against Scott Alexander on Sunday, June 10,” sê Tom Brown, President van TGB Promotions. “It’s an interesting time in the heavyweight division and all the winners on this card will figure into the picture in a prominent way in the future.”
Kauffman (31-2, 23 Uitklophoue) will look to boost his own contender credentials with a win after most recently dropping a close majority decision to Amir Mansour last March in Kauffman’s hometown of Reading, Pennsylvania. Kauffman had entered that bout with a 14 veg onoorwonne streep, including dropping Chris Arreola in a fight that resulted in a no contest and a knockout of former title challenger Epifanio Mendoza.
“I am excited to get back in the ring,” gesê Kauffman. “I have not been in the ring in a year and a half and I can’t wait to go in there and show that I still have a lot left. I am not going in there to win by decision. I am going in there looking to knock him out, because I am tired of leaving it up to the judges.”
The 29-year-old Alexander (14-2-2, 8 Uitklophoue) has put together two straight victories since losing to LaRon Mitchell by unanimous decision in 2016. Veg uit Los Angeles, Alexander is noted for his fast hands, and scored a TKO victory over Pedro Julio Rodriguez in his last fight on March 3.
“I’ve been working hard preparing for a fight at the end of June so I jumped at this opportunity,” Alexander said. “I’m always ready to step into the ring and take on any and all challenges. I’m ready to make my mark. My tyd is nou!”
A U.S. Navy veteran who also played tight end and defensive end at the University of Southern California, Washington (18-2-1, 12 Uitklophoue) will step into the ring looking to score a bounce back victory on June 10. Washington was stopped in his world title challenge last February against Deontay Wilder on FOX, although he was nearly even on the scorecards at the time, before losing a bout to unbeaten Jarrell Miller in July. Prior to those fights, Washington had been unbeaten in 19 pro fights with victories over a slew of veteran contenders.
A Cherokee-burger gebore in Oklahoma en opleiding uit Miami, Nofire (20-1, 16 Uitklophoue) most recently scored a second round stoppage of Stacy Frazier last September. The 32-year-old was riding a four-fight knockout streak that includes stoppages of Yasmany Consuegra and Ty Cobb before losing his first pro fight to Joey Abell in 2016 op FS1 en FOX Sport.
After representing the U.S. by die 2012 Olimpiese Spele, Hunter (13-1, 8 Uitklophoue) turned pro and began rising up the cruiserweight rankings until losing his first world title fight to unified champion Oleksandr Usyk last April. The 29-year-old returned to action this April with a decision victory and will set his sights on a world title shot at heavyweight.
Kiladze (26-2, 18 Uitklophoue) was riding a six-bout winning streak into his January matchup with unbeaten Adam Kownacki that ended with Kiladze losing in six rounds. Representing the country of Georgia and now fighting out of Los Angeles, Kiladze will be in his fifth fight as a full time heavyweight on June 10.

READING, PA (Maart 18, 2017) – In a 12-round heavyweight war that lived up to the hype, Amir Mansour (23-2-1, 16 Uitklophoue) was able to take a majority decision (114-114, 117-111, 115-113) over Travis Kauffman (31-2, 23 Uitklophoue) in the main event of Premier Boxing Champions: The Next Round on Bounce from Santander Arena in Reading, PA.
In die tweede ronde, Kauffman buckled Mansour with a hard right on the inside. The two fighters started round four with bad intentions as they each landed hard shots on the inside. Kauffman switched back and forth between orthodox and southpaw stances in an attempt to befuddle the southpaw Mansour.
By the closing rounds, both fighters began to grind out a hard-fought battle on the inside. In rounds nine and 10, it was Mansour who had more pep in his step, landing several hard blows to close out round 10.
Round 12 was a classic heavyweight slugfest, as Kauffman and Mansour stood toe-to-toe landing leather on each other for the whole three-minute period, with Mansour doing just enough to get the win.
Televised coverage opened with Chordale Booker (6-0, 3 Uitklophoue) van Brooklyn, New York getting a unanimous decision (59-55, 59-55, 58-56) over Moshea Aleem (4-1-1, 2 Uitklophoue) van Richmond, Virginia in a super welterweight bout.
The co-main event featured two-time welterweight world champion Kermit Cintron (39-5-3, 30 Uitklophoue) and David Grayton (15-1-1, 11 Uitklophoue) fighting to a technical majority draw after Cintron was deemed unable to continue due to a cut over his right eye.
In die vyfde ronde, Grayton floored Cintron with an overhand left. Later in the round, Grayton nailed Cintron with an unintentional headbutt to the right eye, which opened up the cut that led to the end of the bout. Action was stopped at 2:53 van die vyfde ronde.
Here is what the fighters had to say following their bouts:
TRAVIS Kauffman
“I got robbed. It’s plain and simple. Dit was 'n goeie stryd, but I thought I won by three rounds.
“He landed a couple of shots, but I clearly outworked him. I thought I landed more and did enough to get the win.”
AMIR MANSOUR
“They thought I was old and would tire down the stretch, but I am mentally strong.
“I give Travis (Kauffman) credit. He stood in there with me tonight. But as I waited for the scores, I knew I won the fight. These were honorable judges.
“Ek wil (Deontay) Wilder next. I am 44-years-old. I want my shot. They should give me my shot and try to get me out of the way.”
KERMIT CINTRON
“Ek was die wen van die stryd. Then he started to apply pressure and he caught me when I was off balance.
“He kept coming in with his head, and he finally caught me good with it. I was fine and wanted to continue, but the doctor decided to stop the fight.”
DAVID GRAYTON
“I won that fight. I think he could have continued.
“I was in control of the fight, but I was in his hometown, and you know how that goes.
CHORDALE BOOKER
“Dit was 'n goeie stryd. I needed this fight to see where I am. And I wanted to fight another undefeated fighter. It was a step up on national television.
“I give myself a B- for my performance tonight. My movement was good, but I did not sit down on my power enough. It was a good learning experience though. I could not ask for a better platform to perform on.”
MOSHEA ALEEM
“I did not do enough. I waited too long to throw my punches and he outworked me.”
