Winner sets Throwdown Fantasy Points record for #BradleyRios game

NEW YORK (December 3, 2015, 2015) – A single game points record was set by the winner of the recent $2000 Throwdown Fanatasy Boxing Game as Ernesto Lopez(“Ring_King24”) racked up 474.5 total fantasy points to capture the $400.00 winner’s check.
“The reason why I play Throwdown Fantasy is because I am a hardcore boxing fan and I actually boxed as an amateur,” Lopez said.  “Plus, what’s better than getting paid for doing something I love and follow 24/7.  ThrowdownFantasy.com is the best!  I am on it all of the time and my wife thinks I’m addicted.  Hey, it’s paying off.”

Lopez built his winning team around three solid favorites in Tim Bradley, Edwin Rodriguez ($5800) and Vasyl Lomachenko ($5800).  This trio cost him a total of $16,400 in camp money with only $8600 remaining for him to spend on his final two fighters.  The helping hand was provided by Karim Guerfi ($4300), the third cheapest fighter and decisive underdog versus Alejandro Gonzalez, Jr.  Jarrett Hurd was Lopez’ final pick.
By being the only player to pick five winners, Lopez was able to compile his 474.5 record-setting points.  The rest of the top 10 finishers were only able to select four winners in this game and that proved to be the difference.
Throwdown Fantasy’s all-time winningest player, “Yuggy,” shared second-place with 436.4 points for a $130.00 prize.  However, he entered his team three times to win almost as much as the game winner, $390.00.  The beauty of Throwdown Fantasy is that players may enter a contest as many times as he or she chooses, improving the chances of winning money.

$2000 Throwdown Fantasy Boxing Jacobs vs. Quillin headlines new game & Return of Head-to-Head games

The much anticipated middleweight showdown between defending world champion Danny Jacobs and former 160-pound division titlist Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin headlines the new Throwdown Fantasy Boxing Game.  Jacobs ($5100) is favored over Quillin ($4700) because the former is younger, bigger and hits equally hard.  Both are dangerous punchers but Quillin has proven to have the superior whiskers.
The most prohibitive favorite in this game is Regis Prograis ($5800) versus underdogAbel Ramos ($4000).  Prograis is a rising star whose boxing skills are far superior to always tough Abel Ramos ($4000)
Another heavy favorite is Fedor Chudinov ($5600) over aging former world championFelix Sturm ($4300).  Not only has Chudinov already defeated Sturm, he’s also younger, quicker and fresher.
Crafty southpaw Jesus Cuellar ($5400) has size and power advantages againstJonathan Oquendo ($4300).  Cuellar figures to catch Oquendo after a few feeling-out rounds.
Former world champion Chris Algieri ($5000) may have lost his last two fights, but they were to Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan.  Algieri’s aggressive style and experience should prove to be the difference against Erick Bone ($4300).
The best fight of the week may be between young, crowd-pleasing Omar Figueroa($5000) and veteran Antonio DeMarco ($4200).  The aggressive Figueroa must control the pace against DeMarco, whose best days appear to be behind him.
A heavyweight pick-em features a pair of potential future world title challengers in Dominic Breazeale ($4800) and Charles Martin ($4700).  The big punching, tough Breazeale has holes in his game that he’s been able to overcome against smaller opponents.  Martin, however, is a live ‘dog with the same size as Breazeale and equal power.  Plus, he’s a lefty.
Another heavyweight class finds a fading Chris Arreola ($4800) fighting Travis Kauffman($4500), who is moving up in clash in terms of quality of opponent.  Weight is always an issue with Arreola, which effects his ability to throw punches in bunches.  Kauffman wants to push the pace versus Arreola, taking him into deep water but winning rounds along the way.

Wilder/Duhaupas group Throwdown Fantasy Game Co-winners announced

NEW YORK (October 5, 2015) – For the third consecutive week, the $2000 Throwdown Fantasy Boxing Game produced first-time winners, Damon Holman and Esiah Camarena, who shared the $300.00 first-place prize for the most recent Wilder/Duhaupas group. The remaining $700 was won by the top 34 players. Usually between 20-30% of players who enter any given game will win money. The $250 Fantasy Free roll game was filled up over a week in advance.
Holman, who is a longtime Throwdown Fantasy player, enjoys undercards because, “It gives me a reason to watch some of these non-championship cards on TV now.”
Camarena is a fairly new player who feels Throwdown Fantasy, “Adds more to fights that would not mean as much. Having a dog in the fight, so to speak, adds more to the result.”
There was a key fight change due to an injury, which made playing even more challenging than normal.  In fact, Holman felt he had the correct picks but, left with only 12 fighters in the pool after injuries, he decided to protect his selections by entering twice. Here is a look at the original field:
Fred Kassi vs. Robert Breazeale was a late replacement for Jamal Jones vs. Juan Carlos Abreau.  Players are advised to check for changes because they are allowed to change picks prior to games beginning.  Below is a breakdown of the winners’ picks.
The number of players continue to dramatically increase with each grouping.  The quality of players has improved because none of the top six finishers from last week were listed among the All-Time, Top 15 Winners’ List.
