BROOKLYN (Avril 12, 2015) – Premier Champions de boxe sur NBC returned with two exciting bouts Samedi night as Danny “Rapide” Garcia (30-0, 17 KOs) vaincu Lamont Peterson (33-3-1, 17 KOs) by majority decision and “Irlandais” Andy Lee (34-2-1, 24 KOs) et Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin (31-0-1, 22 KOs) fought to a split draw at Barclays Center.

 

The evening’s second main event saw the undefeated Garcia stalk the lightning quick Peterson around the ring while consistently attacking Peterson’s body. Peterson moved well in the first half of the fight, but did not begin engaging offensively until the later rounds.

 

The two exchanged blows throughout a raucous twelfth round that stirred the crowd of 12,300 at Barclays Center into a frenzy. The judges tallies ended at 115-113 for Garcia twice and one score of 114-114.

 

“Je me sens bien. I prepared for a war. He was moving a lot. I thought it was close, not going to lie,” a déclaré Garcia. “It was definitely close the whole way through. I did enough to win and I’m happy with my performance.

 

[On going up in weight] “I feel like I have to go up. It’s affecting my performance, but I feel like I did a great job.”

 

“I did my part. I’m not calling it a robbery but it was a good fight,” a déclaré M. Peterson. “I don’t expect an easy journey for me to get where I’m going. Je me sens bien. That’s probably the least contact I’ve ever had in a fight.”

 

In the first main event, Quillin scored a huge knockdown in the first round and followed it up by putting Lee on the canvas in round three. Lee made adjustments as the fight went on and began to box Quillin effectively, even putting him down in the seventh round.

 

Lee and Quillin landed almost the same percentage of punches with Lee connecting on 38 percent and Quillin on 39 pour cent. One judge scored the bout 113-112 for Lee with another scoring the bout 113-112 for Quillin and the final had a score of 113-113.

 

“There’s a reason why judges are judges. They see it their way. I respect the decision,” Saïd Quillin.

 

[On being knocked down] “There’s a first time for everything. I’m very thankful that I was able to get back up and keep fighting. I took a year off and I was able to go 12-rounds and I could have kept going.”

“I’ve been working on fighting hard, but also smart. I’m going to go in there and dictate the pace and I’m always looking for the knockout. If I can’t knock him out then I’ll be ready to go 12 tours.

 

“It’s always hard making weight, but I’m on weight now. Right now I’m growing into my prime and my body is getting bigger and it’ll be time soon for me to go up in weight.

 

“I’m looking at this as a very big fight. So I’m going in there mentally and physically ready. He’s coming to fight and I’m coming to fight. Samedi is going to be about who can make the right adjustments.

 

“I love Brooklyn. This is my fourth fight here and I’ve heard that the tickets for this fight are selling faster than any other fight they’ve held here. So I must be doing something right in Brooklyn. The atmosphere is great at Barclays Center.

 

“I’ve always felt that I’m one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world. I’ve won a lot of big fights with a lot of great fighters, and my goal is just continue winning one fight at a time.”

Washington D.C. (Mars 26, 2015) – Un peu plus de deux semaines à l'avance de son combat très attendu à Barclays Center à Brooklyn, Lamont Peterson (33-2-1, 17 KOs) médias hébergés au Centre récréatif Pygargue à tête blanche à Washington, D.C. Lamont, son frère Anthony et l'entraîneur de Lamont, Barry Hunter, a pris un certain temps dans leur horaire de formation pour discuter de Lamont Premier Champions de boxe épreuve de force contre Danny “Rapide” Garcia (29-0, 17 KOs) sur Avril 11.

A la fin de la journée,, Je me bats pour les fans et les médias alors pourquoi ne pas combattre qui ils veulent me battre?

 

“Je cherche juste à prendre les choses que je fais bien et exécuter, et puis je suis à la recherche d'enlever les choses Garcia fait bien et de le forcer à faire des choses qu'il ne fait pas bien le plus souvent. Je ne regarde pas à tout un combat précédent de son et je pense nôtre va aller dans ce sens.

 

“Je suis un meilleur combattant. Il est certainement un contre-perforateur et nous cherchons à nous assurer que nous ne obtenons pas contré la façon dont certains autres ont été.

 

“Il ya eu des hauts et des bas dans le camp. Parfois, il est temps de se retirer et se détendre, mais parfois il est temps de travailler dur. Globalement, je me sens bien. Beaucoup de gens disent que ce, mais cela a été mon meilleur camp d'entraînement jamais et je suis heureux où je suis en ce moment. Je suis prêt à se battre.

 

“Ce est le plus grand combat pour moi. Après cela, il n'y a plus rien à faire dans la catégorie de poids. Je aimerais passer après ce prochain combat.”

“Lamont est un combattant très polyvalent. Il a été dans les centaines de sonneries de fois. Il peut boîte. Il peut se battre à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur. Il peut élaborer des stratégies, mais il peut aussi être très agressif.

 

“Danny est un combattant solide. Il ne fait pas une ou deux choses grande, mais il fait beaucoup de choses bien. Il ya certaines choses que ce que nous avons vu en lui que nous pensons que nous pouvons exploiter et nous allons aller là-bas avec l'intention de le faire. Globalement, je pense que Lamont est un meilleur combattant.

 

“Il ya seulement quelques grands noms laissés à 140, tout le monde se est déplacé jusqu'à 147. Donc, la façon de Lamont de penser était que la seule façon ce combat avait un sens au 140 a été se il pourrait faire face à Danny Garcia. Ce était plus de donner aux fans ce qu'ils veulent voir. Cela va donner aux fans un grand combat à nouveau libre à la télévision nationale.

 

“NBC est un véritable réseau de sport. Ils ont NBA, WNBA, NFL, MLB, LNH, MLS et le seul sport qui manquait était la boxe. Boxe habitude d'être sur tous les réseaux et ils ont eu des combats légendaires avec des combattants légendaires. Ce ne était pas toujours à une ceinture soit. Puis les choses ont changé, mais cela nous donne une chance de ramener la boxe aux vrais fans.”
