LOS ANGELES (Ottobre 25, 2018) – Lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury hosted a Los Angeles media day Thursday at Churchill Boxing Club in Santa Monica as he prepares to take on WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder Sabato, Dicembre 1 from STAPLES Center in Los Angeles on SHOWTIME PPV®.

 

 

 

Furia, who is training in Big Bear, arrived nearby by helicopter for the media workout to discuss the showdown with Wilder before jumping into the ring to show off the skills that made him an IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion.

Fury was working out in shorts from Oddball, a company that donates all of its proceeds to research to fight testicular cancer, a cause Fury has championed. Here is what Fury and his trainer, Ben Davison, had to say Thursday from Churchill Boxing Club in Santa Monica:

“This is an important fight for boxing, because it’s two undefeated champions facing off. There have been people not getting in the ring with top guys for whatever reason, but here you have two fighters stepping up and onto the line.

 

 

 

“It’s a pretty easy fight to analyze, Deontay Wilder needs to connect with that big right hand and knock me out, and I need to not let him do that. I need to do whatever I can to get out the way of that right hand, and make him worry about defending my punches.

 

 

 

“I already became a unified champion; I’ve crossed the bridge into the very upper echelon of the sport. This time I’m back and I’m here for good.

 

 

 

“I’m back to reclaim my throne. Even though I’ve had the tune-up fights, I feel like this is my true comeback fight.

 

 

 

“I’m used to being in hostile, solitary environments for training camp. For the Wladimir Klitschko fight I was in Holland, in a forest 10 miles away from any shop or town. I thrive in the condition in Big Bear.

 

 

 

“There have been no distractions training up in Big Bear. It’s perfect. There’s nothing but a few bears and rattle snakes. That’s it as far as distractions.

The fighters were led on to the stage by the Brooklyn Nets Beats Drumline and immediately met face to face. CHE COSA: SHOWTIME Sports released Danny Garcia and Shawn Porter’s championship showdowns with welterweight titlist Keith Thurman in advance of their upcoming clash for the vacant WBC Welterweight World Championship Saturday, Settembre 8 in diretta su Showtime.

 

 

 

Porter’s close but unanimous-decision loss to Thurman and Garcia’s split-decision loss to Thurman are available now in their entirety on SHOWTIME Sports digital platforms. Both the Porter-Thurman 2016 Fight of the Year Candidate and the Garcia-Thurman unification bout, which were broadcast live in primetime on CBS, would have been ruled a draw if a single round in each fight were scored differently.

 

 

 

Settembre 8 SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING telecast of Garcia vs. Porter from Barclays Center in Brooklyn sees two former champions facing off for the chance at a second world title in one of boxing’s deepest divisions. The fight will mark the sixth fight this year featuring top-10 welterweights on SHOWTIME and the eighth matchup of top-five vs. top-five opponents on the network across all divisions.

 

 

 

Next week, SHOWTIME will release Porter’s ninth round TKO stoppage of Andre Berto and Danny Garcia’s 2018 Knockout of the Year candidate of Brandon Rios, both in their entirety.

NEW YORK – Agosto 9, 2018 – Amanda Serrano will fight for a world title in a sixth weight division on Saturday, Settembre 8 a Barclays Center, la casa di Brooklyn boxe ™. The live stream precedes a three-fight SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING telecast (9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT, ORARIO DELLO SPETTACOLO) headlined by Danny Garcia vs. Shawn Porter for the welterweight world championship.

SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING COUNTDOWN, the network’s seventh social media offering of live boxing in 2018, is available to all domestic users with internet access. The livestream is hosted by Ray Flores with Chris Mannix serving as analyst.

Serrano (34-1-1, 26 KO), who is already the only woman to win titles in five weight classes, is looking to best her personal record. Born in Carolina, Puerto Rico and representing her hometown of Brooklyn, Serrano has won titles from 118 a 135 libbre, earning her the No. 2 ranking on the BWAA’s inaugural women’s pound-for-pound list. The 29-year-old is also the only Puerto Rican – maschio o femmina – to capture world titles in five different weight classes and will look to build on that record against Reynoso. She fights for the fifth time in her career at Barclays Center on September 8 with a chance to once again make history again in front of the passionate fan base of Puerto Rican boxing fans in New York.

“I’m super excited to be fighting for a world title in my sixth weight class,” Detto Serrano. “My opponent is really a welterweight, having defended her Argentinean 147-pound title by knockout in her last fight, and is dropping down one division to face me. I am coming up four divisions for this shot. I’m sure Reynoso will rehydrate back up to her natural weight after the weigh-in, but this is a risk worth taking. She’s never been stopped either, so I know she’s durable. This is a tremendous card to be a part of with Garcia vs. Porter as the main event. Reynoso (11-4-3, 8 KO), di Buenos Aires, Argentina, has challenged for world titles at 140 libbre e 154 libbre. The 22-year-old has most recently campaigned at welterweight, where she held the Argentina 147-pound title, and will be moving back down in weight for her third shot at a world title. Reynoso, who will make her U.S. debut on September 8, has recorded all eight of her knockouts inside of five rounds.

“I’m very happy to be training for such a great opportunity for this WBO world title against a terrific champion in Amanda Serrano,” said Reynoso. “I am coming ready to give Serrano a real fight, and I look forward to capturing the title belt.”
