Maksim Grabovich new opponent for M-1 Challenge welterweight champion Alexey Kunchenko

ST. PETERSBURG, Rússia (Janeiro 23, 2017) – Undefeated M-1 Challenge welterweight champion Alexey Kunchenko will now be challenged by fellow Russian Maksim Grabovich, who has replaced injured Shavkat Rakhmonov, Março 3, em M-1 Desafio 75 em Moscou.

Kunchenko (15-0-0, M-1: 7-0), lutando fora de Tyumen, Rússia, is a Muay Thai specialist who captured his M-1 Challenge welterweight title belt last April at M-1 Desafio 65, when defending titlist Murad Abdulaev aposentado durante a quarta rodada.

It has also been announced that American lightweight Keon “The Black Assassin” Caldwell will make his M-1 Global debut versus former M-1 Challenge lightweight champion Maxim Divnich.

Shlemenko (54-9-0. 1 NC, M-1: 4-0-0), a three-time Bellator champion, derrotou o ex-campeão do M-1 Challenge Vyacheslav Vasilevsky (see picture above with Shlemenko on right) last year in the M-1 Grand Prix Middleweight Championship semifinals and championship final, respectivamente, by three-round majority decision and third-round submission (afogador). Shlemenko vs. Vasilevsky I & II were the M-1 Challenge 68 & 64 Fights of the Night.
In a much-anticipated All-Russian middleweight showdown, Shlemenko was supposed to fight reigning M-1 Challenge middleweight champion Ramadan Emeev, who was unfortunately injured during training camp, forcing him out of that match. Vasilevsky replaced Emeev against Shlemenko in the championship final.

Caldwell (11-3-0, M-1: 0-0-0), lutando fora da Geórgia, is the US-based Island Fights champion. A powerful puncher who has nine knockouts in his 11 pro victories, Caldwell was supposed to compete in the 13th season of The Ultimate Fighter, but he withdrew due to personal reasons. He has had several fights in World Series of Fighting.
A Ukrainian fighting out of Moscow, Divnich captured the vacant M-1 Challenge lightweight title in 2014 em M-1 Desafio 54, paragem Dzhambulat Kurbanov in the third round on punches in the Fight of the Night. Em 2015, Divnich lost his first title defense by third-round knockout to Mansour Barnaoui em M-1 Desafio 57. Em sua última luta, Artiom Damkovsky knocked out Divnich with a kick in the second-round of their fight this past September at M-1 Desafio 70.

PETERSBURG, Rússia (Janeiro 9, 2017) – A serious knee injury requiring surgery has forced undefeated Kazakhstan challenger Shaukat Rakhmonov (7-0-0, M-1: 4-0-0) to withdraw from his first title fight, Março 3 against unbeaten M-1 Challenge welterweight champion Alexey Kunchenko (15-0-0, M-1: 7-0-0), da Rússia, em M-1 Desafio 75 em Moscou.
“I wanted this fight badly and put a lot of effort into preparation for it,” a dejected Rakhmonov explained. “Infelizmente, I tore ligaments in my knee and, based on my medical exam, I will need surgery soon. I apologize to all the MMA fans who were anticipating this fight. I’ll do my best to return stronger than ever.”

Devido a uma série de ferimentos, Sulktanakhmedov (18-5-0, M-1: 10-1-0) esteve inativo nos últimos cinco anos, desde que ele nocauteou Tyson Jeffries na segunda rodada de sua 2011 lutar no M-1 Challenge 24.
Um ex-campeão da Seleção M-1, Sultanakhmedov está caindo uma categoria de peso do peso médio para lutar contra Romanov. Durante sua carreira no MMA, O temido atacante Sultanakhmedov nocauteou jogadores como Dmitri Samoilov, Victor nemkov, Pavel Kusch e Pliinio Cruz, entre os mais notáveis.
Seu tremendo talento e estilo o tornam um favorito dos fãs, especialmente o dele “um tiro, uma morte” ataque. O jogador de 32 anos já lutou fora de sua Rússia natal, nos Estados Unidos e Japão, e durante seu hiato de luta ele serviu como árbitro.

Em seguida, Eu vou voltar para St. Petersburgo se prepara no acampamento, e ir para Borovaya para o boxe. Meu oponente é canhoto, então eu preciso de sparrings apropriados, mas os caras do meu acampamento são uma grande ajuda.
“Eu conheço bem o meu adversário, tendo assistido às lutas dele quando era jovem quando era campeão. Agora, precisamos reavaliar ele. Ele era um bom lutador que treina no ‘Gorets’ onde há, em princípio, caras lá que são de nível superior. É difícil dizer que forma ele está agora porque ele não luta há muito tempo. Agora, ele está no auge da idade para um lutador, 32, então veremos. Eu não acho que serei o favorito nesta luta, mas irei em frente apesar de ser o azarão.”

INGUSHETIA, Rússia (Outubro 22, 2016) – Former two-time M-1 Challenge light heavyweight champion Viktor Nemkov put himself in position for another title shot and Pavel Vitruk became the first M-1 Challenge Bantamweight Champion at last night’s entertaining M-1 Desafio 71 na Inguchétia, Rússia.
Cazaquistão nativa Nemkov (24-6-0, M-1: 17-5-0), fighting out of Stary Oskol, Rússia, won a three-round unanimous decision from former Bellator champion Attila “Pumukli” Vegh(29-8-2, M-1: 0-2-0), da eslováquia, no evento principal.

Fighting in the inaugural M-1 Challenge Bantamweight Championship, Russian fighter Vitruk (14-2-0, M-1: 8-2-0) derrotado Vitali Branchuk (21-6-0, M-1: 1-2-0), da Ucrânia, by way of a fourth-round submission.

Welterweight russo Sergey Romanov (9-1-0, M-1: 3-0-0) took a three-round unanimous decision from Carlos Alexandre “Indio” Pereira (37-11-1, M-1: 1-1-0), do Brasil, while M-1 Challenge lightweight champion Alexander Butenko (42-11-2, M-1: 9-1-0) decisioned Brazilian foe Rubenilton “Rubinkho” Pereira (16-3-0, M-1: 0-1-0) in a non-title fight contested at a 160-pound catrchweight.
Former M-1 Challenge light heavyweight Stephan “T-800” Puetz (15-2-0, M-1: 5-1-0), da Alemanha, also put himself in position for another title fight, possibly against his arch-rival Nemkov, by forcing Brazilian Marcus Vinicius “Mountan” Lopes (9-2-0, M-1: 1-1-0) into submission via a rear naked choke in the third round.

Romanov (8-1-0, M-1: 2-0-0) is riding a seven-fight win streak, including a pair of victories at M-1 Desafio 68 sobre Andreas Birgels by way of an opening-round knockout (socos), which was exactly the same way Romanov finished off Sergio de Fatimaem M-1 Desafio 65.

Pereira (37-11-1, M-1: 1-0-0) made an impressive M-1 debut a year ago at M-1 Desafio 61, derrotando Ruslan Zhemukov in the first round with the Submission of the Night. The large majority of his fights have been held in Brazil against his fellow countrymen.

Puetz (14-2-0, M-1: 5-1-0) captured the covered M-1 Challenge light heavyweight title in 2014, when he defeated defending champion Nemkov by way of a five-round split decision. The gifted German successfully defended his title belt twice against Luis Fernando Miranda (SUB2 – afogador) em M-1 Desafio 50 e Valery Myasnikov(KO/TKO2 – socos) em M-1 Desafio 54. Pereira (16-2-0, M-1: 0-0-0) will be making his M-1 debut. He is a champion in Brazil, holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and will be fighting professionally for the first time outside of his native Brazil.
