Kovalev, the Russian Wrecking Ball, 33, has been dominating boxing’s light heavyweight division with his aggressive, fan-friendly style since his breakout performance against then-unbeaten Nathan Cleverly in 2013. His rise to boxing stardom has been meteoric, as he has gone from an unknown fighter from Chelyabinsk, Russia to headlining HBO Pay-Per-View in just four years after signing with his first promoter, Main Events. Born in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Barrera had an impressive amateur run with a record of 285-27. Following his defection from Cuba, where he was a member of the country’s national team, Barrera made his professional debut in 2009 with a first round technical knockout win over Anthony Adorno in his adopted hometown of Miami, Florida. He would go on to knockout the first five opponents he faced in his professional career in either the first or second round. Barrera made his television debut in January of 2015 with his appearance on ESPN’sDivendres Night Fights, when he scored a fourth round knockout win over former Super Middleweight World Champion Jeff Lacy. Barrera quietly rose through the ratings of the light heavyweight division until he was afforded the opportunity to fight former Light Heavyweight World Title Challenger Karo Murat to become the IBF’s number one rated light heavyweight contender. Barrera seized the opportunity, knocking out Murat in the fifth round on December 12, 2015 in his HBO Latino Boxing debut at the Civic Auditorium in Glendale, Califòrnia. TORONTO (Juliol 2, 2015) — Fight Network, més important del món 24/7 canal de televisió dedicat a completar la cobertura dels esports de combat, presenta un parell d'esdeveniments d'arts marcials mixtes explosives aquest divendres, Juliol 3, a partir de les 11:30 a.m. I amb M-1 Desafiament 59: Batalla de Nomads 5 des Astana, Kazakhstan. Després, a 10 p.m. I, Aliança Fighting Resurrecció torna a primetime amb RFA 27: Murphy vs. Brock de CenturyLink Sorra a Boise, Idaho.
Lluita emissió en directe de la xarxa de M-1 Challenge 59 sortirà a l'aire en la televisió òptim de Cablevision, Gran Comunicacions, Shentel Cable i Armstrong per cable als EUA, a nivell nacional al Canadà, Roku dispositius a través d'Amèrica del Nord, i en el món en més de 30 països d'Europa, Àfrica i Orient Mitjà.
