MONTE CARLO, Monaco (Lipiec 4, 2016) — The World Mixed Martial Arts Association (WMMAA) has received an appeal from Stefano Sartori, manager of Brazilian fighter Fabio Maldonado, to reassess the result of his June 17thfight with Fedor Emelianenko, which headlined Fight Nights Global 50 in Saint Petersburgh, Rosja.
Emelianenko was awarded a win by majority decision, which Team Malondado has appealed, claiming a conflict of interest because all of the judges are employed by the Russian MMA Union, of which Emelianenko serves as president.
Team Maldonado believes Maldonando should have won the decision, or the fight declared a draw at the very least, in their opinion, as the Brazilian clearly won the first round, 10-8, Emelianenko came back to take the second round, 10-9, and the third round was a toss-up.
Because Russian MMA Union vice president Radmir Gabdullin was the head judge for the aforementioned bout, Team Maldonando feels that a fair judgement regarding its appeal can be rendered only by independent, international judges reviewing the fight.
Team Maldonando has appealed the decision on grounds that there was an obvious conflict of interest in terms of the Russian MMA Union judges and their close association with Fedor, as well as the quality of decisions they rendered. Rather than appeal the decision to the Russian MMA Union, which they claimed would place Russian judges under intense pressure, Team Maldonando made the appeal directly to the WMMAA because the Russian MMA Union is a sanctioned member of the worldwide sanctioning body WMMAA.

Butenko (41-11-2) and Damkovsky (20-10-0) battled from start to finish with Buntenko winning a unanimous decision to capture the vacant M-1 Challenge lightweight title.

Michaił Korobkov (9-1-1, M-1: 0-1-1), Rosji, is the late replacement for Idrisov but, due to Korobkov coming off of a loss in his last fight (decision to East Nagibin last Friday atM-1 Sezon 66), his fight versus Buchinger (30-4-0, M-1: 5-0-0) is a not for the title and it has been downgraded from main event to co-feature. Buchinger, walki na Słowacji, has won his last nine fights dating back four years.

ORENBURG CITY, Rosja (Maj 28, 2016) – Last night’s M-1 Sezon 66 event had its share of upsets, leading with a main event split decision victory by Rashid Yusopov over defending M-1 Challenge light heavyweight champion Wiktor Nemkov, in Orenburg City, Rosja.
Były M-1 Sezon mistrzem wagi półciężkiej Stephan “T-800” Puetz took a unanimous 3-round decision from Andrey Seledtsov do jednoczesnego funkcji.
Russian challenger Yusopov (7-2-0, M-1: 4-1-0) won a hard fought 5-round split decision over defending champion Nemkov (23-6-0, M-1: 14-5-0), walcząc z Rosji przez Kazachstan, who was making his initial title defense.
Nemkov had captured the coveted M-1 Challenge light heavyweight title this past December, taking a 5-round decision from defending champion Puetz, who had won a 5-round split decision April, 2014 against Nemkov for the title. Nemkov is a two-time M-1 Challenge light heavyweight champion having defeated Wasilij Babich (WSUB3 – arm-lock) for the vacant title that he then lost in his first title defense to Puetz.
The 23-year-old Yusupov was riding a 4-fight win streak going into his fight with Nemkov. A former Russian, European and World Amateur MMA champion, Yusupov is known as a dangerous striker whose signature moves are powerful kicks.
Puetz vs.. Seledtsov was billed as “Terminator” vs. “Spetsnev” and it lived up to its name as Puetz won a unanimous 3-round decision. Puetz, Niemiec, had successfully defended his M-1 Challenge light heavyweight title twice, after beating Nemkov in their original championship match, przed Luis Fernando Miranda (SUB2 – dławik) Sierpień 15, 2014 wM-1 Sezon 50, i Valery Myasnikov (KO / TKO2 – stemple) Grudzień 17, 2014 wM-1 Sezon 54. Seledtsov, 28, is a former Spetsnev solider known for his powerful boxing, combat samba and MMA background. A local White-Rex promotion champion, the Russian was making his M-1 Global debut.

PETERSBURG, Rosja (Maj 17, 2016) – Former M-1 Challenge light heavyweight and middleweight champion Wiaczesław Wasilewski (28-4-0, M-1: 10-2-0) has stepped up to replace injured Ramadan Emeev przed Alexander “Burza” Shlemenko (52-9-0, M-1: 3-0-0) in the final of the M-1 Grand Prix Middleweight Tournament, podsufitka

Emeev (14-3-0, M-1: 8-1-0) suffered a torn ligament in his elbow during training camp. In a M-1 Challenge Grand Prix Middleweight Tournament semifinals match last February, Vasilevsky lost a majority decision to Shlemenko in the M-1 Sezon 64 Fight of the Night.
“We were in a very difficult situation after Ramazan Imeev got injured,” Prezydent M-1 Global Vadim Finkelchtein explained. “The whole event was in jeopardy. Tak, teraz, we’re grateful to Vyacheslav Vasilevsky for agreeing to step in and face Shlemenko in our M-1 Grand Prix finals being held on his (Wasilewski) urodziny.
