One-on-One with M-1 Global president Vadim Finkelchtein

САНКТ-ПЕТЕРБУРГ, Ресей (Тамыз 16, 2017) – М-1 Global президенті Vadim Finkelchtein recently sat down with mixfight.ru to discuss the recent М-1 Challenge 82 in Finland, М-1 Challenge 83 in next month in Kazan, Ресей, and what fight he considers to be the most anticipated this autumn.

М-1 Challenge 82 tournament has just ended in Helsinki. Tell us your impressions and did everything go as planned beforehand?

В.Ф.: “Иә, the tournament fully met our expectations. We initially set it very high, promotingМ-1 Challenge 82 at the largest venue in Finland, Hartwall Arena. In the history of Finland’s MMA tournaments, prior to our show, MMA shows had never been held in large arenas. Do you plan to come back to Finland and hold tournaments on a regular basis there?

This year we have signed a contract with one of the leading TV channels of Finland – RUUTU — to broadcast all M-1 Challenge tournaments. I think we will definitely return next year to Finland.”

When is the next M-1 Challenge tournament and where?

The main event forМ-1 Challenge 83 is a fight between Brandon Halsey and Mikhail Ragozin, one of the most promising Russian heavyweights. He is more experienced of the two, he has already won the belt and has defended it a few times. Chicago Cruiserweight Junior Wright to Face Russia’s Ruslan Fayfer for IBF #2 Spot This Friday in Russia

Wright was last seen stopping Detroit’s Damon McCreary in two rounds in January of this year.

“Junior Wright has shown throughout his career that he is one of the most dedicated fighters in the cruiserweight division,” said his promoter, Dmitriy Salita. “Fighting the best available contenders, Junior is once again showing his will and desire to be the best cruiserweight in the world. Evloev (8-0-0, М-1: 8-0-0), who was the interim M-1 Challenge bantamweight champion, is a Russian fighter whose entire pro career has been in M-1 Global competition. Last night, he won a five-round decision over defending M-1 Challenge bantamweight titlist Vitruk (14-3-0, М-1: 8-3-0), the Ukrainian-born fighter who fights out of Russia.

Valtonen has been an MMA fighter for 14 years and for much of that time-period he has been one of the stars of Finnish MMA-promotion, Fight Festival, which was successful at the 2009 M-1 World Championship Challenge. Valtonen fought in KSW and Shooto competitions. Another Helsinki native on the М-1 Challenge 82, Valtonen figures to have tremendous support at Hartwell Arena.
Son Le “Buddah” Binh (5-2-0, М-1: 1-1-0), 28, lives and trains in Gothenburg, representing the Finnish team, East Front. The 28-year-old first competed in MMA competition only five years ago, but he has since had a total of eight amateur and professional fights. Although relatively inexperienced, his strong performances have resulted in him being Sweden’s No. 3 ranked bantamweight.
Binh is always in great physical shape and he has very good stamina. All eight of his fights went the distance but none were boring. In a contest against another Swedish prospect, Bilal Musa, Bing fractured his leg at the beginning of the second round, yet fought through the paid to earn victory by way of a three-round decision. In his very interesting M-1 debut against Emin Guseyov, who has an excellent strike technique. Binh used his wrestling and grappling skills, which he was taught by coach Babak Nejad, who also trains UFC star Anthony Johnson, to win a three-round decision.
Negotiations with several other leading fighters in Finland are also being concluded and their fights against foreign fighters will be announced shortly. Fighters from the United States, Бразилия, Франция, Португалия, Швеция, Ресей, Ukraine and Poland are also expected to compete on the М-1 Challenge 82 оқиға.

The two giant heavyweights fighting on the card are each world ranked by Fightmatrix, both preferring early endings as they have 40 combined knockouts. This exciting duel is a fitting addition for such a grand tournament like М-1 Challenge 81: The Battle of the Mountains 6.
Russian strongman Kharitonov (24-6-0, М-1: 4-0-0) is coming off a devastating, one-punch knockout of American Рамо Тьерри Sokoudjou in the opening round of their main event fight, Маусым 15 Қытайда, жанында М-1 Challenge 80. СОЧИ, Ресей (Мамыр 21, 2017) – Two-time M-1 Challenge Light Heavyweight Champion Виктор Nemkov has positioned himself for another title shot, defeating Brazilian challenger Ronny Маркес, last Friday night in the M-1 Challenger 77 main event at Sochi, Ресей.
Eleven exciting fights were held with athletes representing 10 different countries in true International competition: Ресей, Бразилия, АҚШ, Испания, Португалия, Германия, Беларусь, Украина, Грузия, and Azerbajjan.
Nemkov (25-6-0, М-1: 18-5-0), Ресей тыс күрес, took care of Markes (16-4-0, М-1: 0-1-0) early, by submission in the opening round by way of a guillotine choke. “I waited for the right moment,” Nemkov said after the fight, “concentrating on the guillotine-choke to finish the fight.”
Rising Russian middleweight prospect Артем Фролов (9-0-0, М-1: 6-0-0) needed only1:14 to knockout Talekh “Әзірбайжан Терминатор” Taleh. “It’s hard to tell if the fight could have gone a little longer,” Frolov commented, “but I think it’s a big deal to hurt your opponent like I did. I hope to get a title fight soon.”
In a fascinating battle between unbeaten American lightweight “Motown” Moses Murrieta және орыс Andrey Seledtsov (6-4-0, М-1: 0-3-0), Murietta (5-0-0, М-1: 1-0-) won a hard-fought three-round unanimous decision in his M-1 Global debut. “My opponent never gave up, he’s a strong opponent, Murietta remarked. “I always work on physical training.
