PARA DIVULGAÇÃO IMEDIATA
PHILADELPHIA, PENN./ORANGE, Califa. (Sete. 25, 2017) – Heralded prospects, pluma Ruben Villa and junior lightweight Michael Dutchover remained perfect with unanimous decision victories this past Sexta-feira night in Ontario, Califórnia.
Ruben Villa (8-0, 4 KOs) of Salinas, Califa. displayed his superior talent by out boxing veteran Ernesto Guerrero (26-20, 18 KOs) of Mexico through six rounds. Villa swept all three scorecards (60-54) to continue an impressive start to his young career.

In what was perhaps his toughest test to date, Villa performed admirably and displayed his quickness by darting in and out of danger, all the while landing power shots to the head and body.

We had a game plan for Guerrero, and we executed it perfectly,” Villa said. “We gave him different looks and fought him from different angles. I don’t think he ever got comfortable.

Villa is promoted by Banner Promotions and Thompson Boxing.

Dutchover (6-0, 4 KOs) of Midland, Tex. knocked down Mexico’s Carlos Flores (4-6-1, 3 KOs) in the opening round to get things going on his way to a unanimous decision sweep (40-35).

Throughout the fight, Dutchover snapped his left jab to set up an inside attack that left Flores bruised and battered by the fourth round.

I had a lot of success working off the jab,” said Dutchover, who is co-promoted by Banner Promotions and Thompson Boxing. “I’m happy with the win. I’ll rest for a little, and then I’ll be back in the gym working to get better.

vila, 20, loaded up on top-level sparring to help bridge the experience gap between him and Guerrero. He spent three weeks in Indio, Califa. sparring against elite competition such as unbeaten, world title contender Joseph Diaz.

The way Diaz puts his punches together was really impressive,” said Villa, who is promoted by Banner Promotions and Thompson Boxing. “Foi uma grande experiência de aprendizagem para mim. It’s not every day you get to spar with someone with that high of a skill level.

In addition to the knowledge learned from the Diaz sessions, Villa is attempting to sharpen his mental focus for his fight against Guerrero.

The Monterey County Board of Supervisors recognized Team Villa Boxing, a non-profit gym, for creating a safe space for low-income youths in East Salinas. Through grants, Team Villa Boxing offers free boxing and physical fitness lessons to select youths.
I was really surprised that we were honored with the award because we only found out about it the day before,” Villa said. “We are obviously very happy about it, but we don’t do it for the recognition. It’s all about helping the community. There’s not much opportunity out here so we have to give the kids additional chances to succeed.

For those that are unaware, Salinas has an ongoing struggle with drug related gang violence. When not conducting training camps in Riverside, Calif., Villa stays sharp at the gym that bears his name.
Villa received the honor as part of theNational Night Outevent hosted by the City of Salinas.
The public awareness event, which drew thousands to the Salinas Soccer Complex, aimed to strengthen community relations with law enforcement and other public safety personnel such as firefighters and first responders.

Ruben Villa to Test Unbeaten Record on “Sangue novo” Undercard Friday Night

PARA DIVULGAÇÃO IMEDIATA

LARANJA, Califa. (Maio 17, 2017) – Blue chip featherweight prospect Ruben Villa (5-0, 3 KOs) headlines an action-packed “Sangue novo” undercard when he puts his undefeated record on the line against Anthony de Jesus Ruiz (2-2, 2 KOs) este Sexta-feira, Maio 19, from the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, Califa.
Thompson Boxing’s 17 year anniversary show will be live streamed on its site e Facebook Vivo começando no 7:45 p.m. PDT nesta sexta-feira.
Sexta-feira bout marks the fourth time Villa will fight in front of an expected sold out crowd at the Doubletree Ontario. It will be his first, contudo, fighting on a live streamed show.
I’m definitely excited for it. It’s great exposure for us new guys trying to make a name for ourselves,” said Villa, who is promoted by Banner Promotions and Thompson Boxing. “I know a lot of my friends and family will be watching. It also gives an opportunity for boxing fans all over the country to tune in and watch some quality fights.
vila, a southpaw, is coming off his East Coast debut in April where we notched his third career knockout win over the previously unbeaten Luis Diaz Torres. Villa stopped the stiff-chinned Torres in the sixth and final round. It was the first, sixth round fight of Villa’s career, one that tough him several impactful lessons.
It’s important to stick to the plan and listen to my corner,” said the 20-year-old, who hails from Salinas, Califa. “He was somewhat reckless so I needed to show a little more patience with him. I’m used to fighting guys who are a little more technical. Diaz was able to take a shot. He was willing to absorb two or three punches to set up one of his own. I learned not to give him those opportunities.
Para Sexta-feira six-round bout versus Ruiz, Villa spent most of his training camp sparring at the Robert Garcia Gym in Riverside, widely seen as one of Southern California’s most boxing rich environments. His chief sparring partner was Hector Tanajara, another highly regarded prospect with an undefeated record.
“Campo de treinamento foi ótimo,” said Villa, who as an amateur won back-to-back National Golden Gloves championships. “I had quality sparring sessions against Hector Tanajara. He fights one division higher than me so it’s always good to learn from guys that are naturally bigger than you.
While Villa comes from a well-rounded amateur career that saw him bank two wins against fellow high ceiling prospect Shakur Stevenson, the Northern California native is always on the quest to better his skills.
I’ve been working on using more angles to set up punches,” Villa said. “The goal is to develop better range with my jab so I can be more effective. With Ruiz, I plan to feel him out for the first round and then I’ll start going at his weaknesses. A lot of what I plan to do will come off the jab.
The live stream, intitulou “TB Presents: Sangue novo,” will be anchored by blow-by-blow announcer Beto Duran with Steve Kim providing expert color commentary.

CORONA, Califa. (Novembro. 7, 2016) – Terraço “The Real Deal Shelestyuk, Xolisani Ndongeni,e Ruben Villa all remained undefeated this past Sexta-feira night at the Omega Events Center in Corona, Califórnia.

southpaw Shelestyuk, que entrou no ringue classificado n º. 9 na WBO e Não. 13 no WBA, turned back a determined bid by Herrera to win, despite getting docked a point for excessive holding in the fifth round.

“Foi uma luta dura,” stated Shelestyuk. “He is a tough fighter; he is slow, but he worked well. Na primeira rodada, Eu fiz bem, mas minhas pernas ficaram em mim. Acho que foi porque eu não dormir bem.

After five rounds, I started to find my rhythm. Eu comecei a lutar boxe dele.

I am looking forward to being more active in 2017. I will take two or three weeks off and be right back in the gym.

“A Verdade” hurts, and Herrera had more than his fair share of moments in a tight fight. Herrera, a professional since December 2009, figured to be a legitimate test for Shelestyuk, e ele era. Each fighter connected 28 por cento do tempo.

Herrera, who had defeated undefeated prospects in four of his previous nine fights, não estava feliz com o veredicto. “Foi uma boa luta. Não há muito que eu posso dizer. Eu pensei que era mais perto do que a pontuação indicada. I had fun in there, and I give him credit. Ele foi tudo o que eu esperava. He is a smart fighter.

I would love to be a test dummy for all these young prospects. Eu pensei que poderia ter sido um empate, but the people who saw it on TV can have their opinion.

Shelestyuk is co-promoted by Banner Promotions and Thompson Boxing.

Opening up the ShoBox broadcast, Vitor Jones Freitas was stopped in the first round by Manuel Mendez. The fight was stopped after Mendez landed a thudding body shot that sent the previously undefeated Brazilian down for the ten count, breaking his rib.
In non-television action, Ndongeni showed why he is considered championship worthy, as he pounded out a ten-round unanimous decision over rugged Juan Garcia Mendez.
Ndongeni controlled the action as he mixed up his punches. He countered beautifully and worked up and down by mixing up his shots to the head and body of Mendez. Ndongeni, 26 anos, is ranked number-3 by the WBA, and he showed the class of a world championship contender in his American debut.

Ndongeni, nicknamedNomeva”, which means The Wasp, stung Mendez throughout the contest, and he showed that not only is he a serious title contender, but he has a fan-friendly style.

Ndongeni is co-promoted by Banner Promotions and Golden Gloves Promotions.

vila, of Salinas, Califórnia, was taken the distance for the first time, as he won a 4-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Aaron Lopez.
vila, who previously scored two consecutive first round knockouts, won every round by showing off his boxing skills in the battle of undefeated fighters.
O 19 year-old Villa pushed the pace throughout the fight and had Lopez in trouble several times. Villa has been very active, as this was his 3rd win since turning professional on 29 de julho.
I am very proud of Taras, Xolisani, and Ruben,” said Banner Promotions President Artie Pelullo.
These are three guys at different stages, but I believe that all three have the talent to become world champions. Taras is closing in on a significant fight, for which a win will lead him to a title. This was our first look at Xolisani, and he was the fighter that was advertised. He has a lot of skills and is a versatile. My partner Rodney Berman and Iwill now look at the many options that we will have with him. I do expect him to fight for a world title sometime in the next year. Ruben had a tremendous learning experience. He fought a guy who was undefeated and very durable. He actually showed us more in this fight than he did in his two first round knockouts. In this fight he won all four round on every judges scorecards (40-36 em todas as placas). I was very impressed with the different punch selections and the way he set everything up in there. As I have said before, he is a star in the making. As for Vitor, he had the right attitude following the fight. He is not going to let this deter him. He just got caught with the wrong punch at the wrong time. He was winning the round easily before that happened. He will obviously take some time off, and then we will look to bring him back next year.
