Wilmington, DE (Luty 8, 2017)–Bare Knuckle Boxing Legend Bobby Gunn is ready for his opportunity of a lifetime, when he takes on all-time great Roy Jones, Jr in a bout scheduled for 12 rounds for the WBF Cruiserweight title that will take place on Piąteknoc, 17 lutego w The Chase Center w Wilmington, Delaware. Gunn of Hackensack, New Jersey has been preparing for this fight, and is ready for the biggest fight of his career. “
I am fighting an all-time great, and styles make fights. It will be a hell of a fight,” said Gunn.
Gunn wanted to raise the stakes for the fight, but he doesn’t think that Jones has the confidence that he will come out victorious.
“I laid it out to him for a winner-take-all bout. I am a puncher, so I know I will win this fight.”
This will be Gunn’s 1st bout w 38 miesiąc, but the Bare-Knuckle Legend has been active fighting on the Bare-Knuckle circuit, and has a perfect record of 72-0 z 72 knockouts in those bouts.
“People can look, and think that I haven’t been active, but a fight is a fight and I have been fighting the Bare-Knuckle fights. Fighting is Fighting. The only difference in those fights is that the gloves protect the hands. Despite what it says on my boxing record, I have always been active. But the time out of the ring plus being against Roy Jones, Jr, the fans will see a different Bobby Gunn.”
Gunn, usually a mild-mannered fighter, has also been motivated by some “Trash-Talk”from Jones.
“He said that I don’t deserve to be in the same ring as him. I was already motivated for this, and he will find out otherwise on 17 lutego. Po 17 lutego, he will remember me for the rest of his life. The bout will support the previously announced 12-round WBF Cruiserweight title bout featuring legendary Roy Jones Jr.. walczy Bobby Gunn.
The show will be show live on Pay-Per-View.
Islam of Kazakhstan, who now calls Pahokee, Florida home has a record of 22-0 z 18 knockouts and is currently ranked number-4 by the WBA, number-5 by the WBO and number-15 by the IBF.
The 32 year-old Islam is a 5 year-professional who holds victories over Humberto Toledo (41-8-2), former world title challenger Francisco Cordero (29-2), Juan De Angel (18-3-1) and his last bout when he went home to Kazakhstan and pounded out a 12 round unanimous decision over Patrick Allottey (34-2) na October 29th.
Islam is a former WBA Fedecaribe and current WBA Fedelatin and WBO Inter-Continental Super Welterweight champion.
Assis of Sao Paulo, Brazil has a record of 16-3 z 9 nokautów. Assis is a former Brazilian Welterweight champion and former interim WBO Latino champion.

Wilmington, DE (Grudzień 2, 2016) David Feldman Promotions will announce that former four-division champ and Boxing Legend Roy Jones, Jr. will square off against former world title challenger, and Bare-Knuckle Legend Bobby Gunn na Piątek, 17 lutego 2017 for the Vacant WBF World Cruiserweight Championship.

The fight will be announced at the official press conference on Wtorek, Grudzień 6, 2016 w 2 PM at the Chase Center on the Riverfront, 815 Justison St, Wilmington, DE 19801.
In attendance will be Roy Jones, Jr., Bobby Gunn, Promoter David Feldman, WBF Representative James Gibbs, undercard fighters Joe Tiberi, Henry Stewart, więcej.

During his twenty-seven year professional career, Jones Jr. (64-9, 46 KO) has secured world titles in four different weight categories – Średniej, Super średnia, Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight – and is the only boxer in history to start his career as a Light Middleweight and then go on to win a Heavyweight Championship.

In winning the WBA Heavyweight title by beating John Ruiz by unanimous decision in March 2003, Jones Jr. made history by becoming the first former middleweight champion to win a heavyweight title in 106 lat.

W lutym 17, Jones Jr’s opponent will be the former IBA Cruiserweight World Champion and the current Bare Knuckle Heavyweight Champion, Konstabl “The Celtic Warrior” Gunn.

Gunn, internationally known for being a Bare-Knuckle legend, will put the gloves back on to battle ring legend Roy Jones, Jr.

Like Jones Jr, Gunn has a fearsome record in gloved boxing – 21 zwycięstw (18 KO) 6 straty, one draw, and one no-contest – and an even more impressive undefeated Bare Knuckle record of 72-0 z 72 KO).

This will be my 4th official amateur boxers reunion, with the first three having taken place in Las Vegas (Grudzień 2014), Nowy Jork (Czerwiec 2015) and Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut (Lipiec 2015).
Boxers who have attended previous reunions include the likes of four-time world champion Roy Jones Jr., three-time world champions Mike “The Body Snatcher” McCallum and Iran “The Blade” Barkley, WBO heavyweight champion Lamon Brewster, former WBC light heavyweight champion Montell “lód” Griffin, 1988 Patenty USA. Olympic coach Kenny Adams.
I’ve had this idea to bring my former amateur peers together for many years and in December of 2014 at the Rival Boxing Store in Las Vegas I finally had my first amateur boxers reunion and it was a tremendous success. Since then I’ve had two more (at Jimmy’s -Glenn- Corner on W. 44st. in NYC and at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut)successful gatherings that have seen everyone from local amateurs, regional Golden Gloves champions, National AAU champions, mistrzowie świata, Olympians and every other possible level of amateur boxer.
I had originally planned to have boxers from my Olympic trials class (1988)gather for a reunion but changed it to any era or level. On that end we’ve had boxers ranging from 1976 A.A.U. Basically it’s a chance for us to get together, reminisce, tell stories, see old friends, meet people we’ve never met before. Maybe the best example of what my reunions entail came at the 2015 event at Foxwoods when I had Hartford’s Luis Ortiz and Lawrence Clay-Bey meet for the very first time since they boxed each other as young kids at Marc Anthony’s in Hartford way back in 1977!

“This fight changes everything for me,” Hernandez proclaimed. “He’s very good and deserves all of the accolades he’s received but I now have my head on straight and I’m focused. My jab was very important tonight. He’s very strong but I wanted to fight him inside because I knew he couldn’t take it from me. Byłem bardzo przygotowany. Southpaw super welterweights John “The Phenom” Vera (14-0, 9 KO), of Fort Worth, and Phoenix’ Joey “Bokser” Ruelas (10-2-1, 4 KO) went toe-to-toe from the opening bell and they never let up in the co-feature. Vera exploded in the round of this firestorm, battering the game Ruelas around, until referee Jay Nady halted the action in the sixth round. Vera remained undefeated and retained his NABA-USA title.
“I knew eventually he’d put his hands down and I’d catch him,” Vera explained. “I thank him for the opportunity to fight. He’s helluva fighter, I give him that, but I know I’m a warrior. I took some shots but gave ’em, zbyt. I broke him down and just kept throwing those lefts.”

In the TV opener, boxing prodigy Devin “Sen” Haney (6-0, 4 KO) made history as the 17-year-old – a junior in high school – became the youngest American professional boxer to fight on national television. The Floyd Mayweather, Sr.-trained Haney, fighting out of Las Vegas in front of his rapidly growing fan-base, showcased his vast skills against previously undefeated Mexican invader Jairo “El Leon” Vargas (Fernandez), unloading 14 unanswered punches for a 4th round technical knockout victory. Nady stopped the fight without counting when a badly hurt Vargas (4-1, 3 KO) hit the deck hard.
“I happy that I put on a good performance for my fans,” Haney commented after the fight. “My team put together the strategy to use my jab and breakdown his body. I picked up my combinations did what I was told to do.”

In a battle of Texas junior welterweights, Tony Lopez (11-1, 4 KO) dropped previously unbeaten Jerren “Hardknocks” Cochran (11-1-1, 4 KO) twice with lefts in the opening round and finished him off in the second, knocking him out cold with a punishing right.
