Guerrero, along with his trainer and father Ruben Guerrero, have put together another successful camp in the Bay Area as Robert looks to earn another opportunity at the top fighters in the sport. Here is what Guerrero had to say about his matchup, training camp and more:

“It’s going to be a great weekend of fights on Spike. Txog rau hnub Friday, you got top level MMA fighters like Benson Henderson throwing down. He’s always giving the fans their money’s worth. On his recent training camp…
“There’s been a lot of hard work that’s been put into this recent training camp. My dad and I have been grinding daily to get ready for this fight. It’s been a productive camp though. I got a lot of rounds sparring with top guys. I’m in tip top shape and ready to go.”
On facing tough Argentine David Emanuel Peralta…
“Anytime you’re facing a fighter from Argentina you know you’re in for a tough fight. Peralta knows this is his chance to make a name for himself so I know he’s coming with his very best. He’s had a lot of time to prepare for this fight but I’ll be well prepared for anything he brings. He’s going to realize once he’s in the ring with me that I’m not some washed up fighter like some may think. I got plenty of fight left in me and Peralta will find out what I’m all about on August 27th.”
On the importance of coming out victorious…
“It’s very important that I win this fight at all cost. The welterweight division has plenty of good fighters that I want to get in the ring with. So it’s a must that I win this fight. I’m not taking Peralta lightly. I’m coming to win and win impressively.”

“I’ve been training hard since the beginning of the year. I’m ready to get back in the ring and put on a show for the fans.
“I love entertaining the fans. I want to keep going out there and fighting for the fans. I want to be in big fights that fans remember.
“I know that this will be a very entertaining fight. My opponent and I both have a lot of pride. We fight like true Mexican warriors and will leave it all in the ring. I don’t expect this to go the decision but I am ready to battle for every round.
“Fans don’t question fights between two Mexican fighters. Everyone loves those kinds of matchups, like Morales-Barrera. Those fights are must watch. The Mexican style is to go head-to-head and toe-to-toe.
“Fighting a guy like this is always dangerous. I don’t like to beat up my countrymen but this is a business and I want to have the crowd chant my name, just like he does.
“I feel better when I have rest in between fights. I feel stronger. The rest has helped my body and I’m going to be stronger and sharper when I get back in the ring.
“I’m very comfortable with my style and my team. I’ve known Romulo Quirarte for many many years and we’ve worked very well together.
“I got married and we have a child on the way so I have a lot of emotions that I put into this training camp. It’s hard for me to explain in words, but I hope that I can show everyone when I get into the ring on Lub yim hli ntuj 27.”
TERRELL GAUSHA
“Each fight I feel like I’ve been growing. I’ve been learning and taking something from every experience in the ring. I’m a student of the game. I’m always training and I feel like I’m getting sharper and better.
“I know my opponent is an aggressive fighter. He’ll come forward and he comes to win. I know him from the amateurs where he has a great background like myself. I’m looking to pick him apart and prove myself.
“It’s hard for me to describe my style, but I make adjustments to opponents. I fight differently depending on my opponent. I’m a thinking fighter. He’s an aggressive fighter and I think it will bring the best out of me. I’m going to exploit his weaknesses and use his aggression against him.
“I just have to be myself. Angulo and Robert Guerrero have a lot of heart, just like I do. My style is my own. I’m smart and I’m sharp. I like to hit and not get hit.
“I’ve been watching the Olympics games and catching as much boxing as I can. We already have a medal guaranteed. I love watching all of the Olympics sports.”

ROBERT GUERRERO
“I want to get back in there with the top guys. All the fights are there. I have to get back in that position. I have to get them to stand toe-to-toe with me.
“I don’t need to prove anything to myself. I know I can fight. I come in and work hard every day. I have to go and prove it to the fans. The fans are what makes us. I have to prove it to everybody watching that I’m there at the top level.
“We definitely want a rematch with Danny Garcia. If I don’t get that, it’s anyone at 147 pounds. The guys are all there and I’m ready to battle.
“You have to be able to be ready for anything in the ring. I know Peralta is going to be dangerous and at his best. I’m not looking past him.
“Training has been going great. I have my team together and we’re working hard. We’re staying focused and ready to get the job done.
“I have a tough guy in front of me on Lub yim hli ntuj 27. I have to take care of him and leave no doubts so that I can get in there against the top guys again.
“I think boxing and MMA can co-exist because everybody likes to watch people beat each other up. People like guys getting put down and getting back up. It’s nice to have the two events back-to-back and I’m happy to be the guy out there putting on a show for the fans.”
ALFREDO ANGULO
“I want to show people that ‘El Perro’ is back and that I still want to compete in the biggest fights. If I work hard, I think that I can have an opportunity by next year for a title shot.
“I have a great team in training and we’re working hard for this challenge. I want to put on a great show for the fans. I want fans to remember my fights and I think this will be the best fight of the night.
“Two Mexicans fighting is always a great fight. We have a lot of experience and we’re both going to come forward and fight with our hearts.
“This will be a great night of boxing. I’m confident no matter who I fight. I bring my heart to the ring and fight for my fans until the last bell.”
TERRELL GAUSHA
“I’m going to go out there and try to be victorious. This is a tough opponent. Once I dominate this guy I think I’ll be closer to a title shot.
“I think I’m ready for a title shot soon. I want to go out there and take care of this guy and show that I’m ready to take over the division.
“This is a great chance to showcase my talent. The fans are what’s most important. You want to be the guy that people see and take a liking to.
“I don’t need to call anybody out. My way of doing it is by my performance. I’m a laid back and humble guy. I will fight anybody though. It’s a yes to any name.
“I know a lot about Steve Martinez. We were in the amateurs at the same time so we really came up together. He’s a tough fighter and a very good test for me. On paper he’s the toughest opponent I’ve faced in the pros.
“One thing about me, I make adjustments in the ring. Who knows if he’s going to try and switch it up? I’m ready for anything he has.
“I see myself being smart in the ring. Winning each round and picking this guy apart. I’m sharper and faster. I’m going to outclass him. I’m training hard trying to get him out of there.
“It’s cool to see us combining boxing with MMA and shedding light on each other’s sport. It’s a really tough sport and I take my hat off to all of those guys. But my thing is boxing and I’m sticking to it.”

Born and raised in Gilroy, California, Guerrero is always in exciting contests having gone toe-to-toe with world champions Danny Garcia and Keith Thurman sandwiched around a hard fought victory over Aron Martinez. Prior to 2015, the 33-year-old picked up victories over Andre Berto, Secluk Aydin and Michael Katsidis while winning world titles in multiple divisions. The action continues the next day with Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero(33-4-1) noj David Emanuel Peralta (25-2-1) rau Hnub vas xaum, Lub yim hli ntuj 27 (9:00-11:00pm ET/PT). Both events will emanate from Honda Center in Anaheim, CA.
Benson Henderson has fought and beaten many of the best fighters in the world. His impressive resume includes victories over: Frankie Edgar, Donald Cerrone, Gilbert Melendez, Nate Diaz, Jim Miller and Bellator’s Josh Thomson. But “Smooth” has never faced an angry “Pitbull” in one of the most important fights of his life.
Patricio “Pitbull” Freiere is a former featherweight world champion who is stepping up to lightweight in the biggest challenge of his decorated career. In a Shakespearean twist, a win over Henderson would put him in line for a title shot against recently crowned 155-pound champion Michael Chandler, who scored a brutal knockout over Patricio’s brother to secure the division’s crown. But to avenge his brother’s loss, he must first defeat the highly-regarded “Bendo.”
Henderson is also in need of a big win as his recent Bellator debut was spoiled by welterweight champion Andrey Koreshkov. The hard-hitting Russian scored a unanimous decision victory in a five-round brawl against Henderson this past April at“Bellator 153: Koreshkov vs. Henderson.”
Robert Guerrero is among the biggest names in boxing today, having fought the sport’s marquee names like Floyd Mayweather. A former world champion in multiple weight classes, he owns signature victories over Andre Berto and Joel Casamayor. But now Guerrero is on a quest to return to the top of the welterweight division beginning with this matchup on August 27. He must defeat the hard-hitting Argentinian slugger David Emanuel Peralta to see his dreams of sitting atop the division realized once again.
The tripleheader also features all-action slugger Alfredo Angulo (24-5)taking on battle-tested Freddy Hernandez (33-8)in a battle of Mexican brawlers. A fan favorite in Southern California, Angulo enters this fight coming off of two knockout victories and he will look to make it three in a row when he steps into the ring onLub yim hli ntuj 27. A veteran of many exciting 154-pound contests, Angulo is looking to continue to make noise in the middleweight division against Hernandez, who has won his last three fights heading into this showdown.
Rounding out the night of televised fights is 2012 U.S. Olympian Terrell Gausha(18-0) putting his undefeated record on the line against the Bronx’s Steve Martinez(16-2). Fighting out of Cleveland, Gausha has risen up the rankings with five victories in 2015 and a seventh round stoppage of Orlando Lora in April. Now he will test himself against against the dangerous Martinez, who has recorded knockouts in 13 of his 16 victories.

GILROY, CA (Lub ob hlis ntuj 17, 2016) – Tus “California Boxing Hall of Fame” is happy to announce that multiple division world champion, Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero, will be one of its 2016 inductees. The ceremony will take place at the Sportsmen’s Lodge Event Center in Studio City, CA on October 22, 2016.
“The Ghost” who once fought at super-bantamweight (122 lbs) successfully moved up several weight classes to compete at welterweight, winning multiple world titles along the way, becoming one of boxing’s most notable warriors. Still active today, Guerrero has plenty of fight left in him and wants nothing more than to get the fans more great fights. He is thrilled to be part of the 2016 class of inductees.

In March of 2015, Thurman vs. Guerrero on NBC peaked at 4.2 million viewers, making it the most viewed fight telecast since 1998 when Oscar tsib La Hoya fought on the FOX network. Boxing’s Return after Almost 20 Years Overwhelming Success
Los Angeles – Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) brought championship boxing back to FOX in prime timeHnub vas xaum night after an almost 20-year absence and delivered a resounding ratings knockout. The PBC on FOX, headlined by an intense 12-round battle for the vacant welterweight title between victor Danny Garcia and Robert Guerrero, delivered PBC’s best audience since April 2015.
Fueled by three exciting bouts, the PBC on FOX averaged a 1.5/3 household rating/share with 2.5 million viewers from 8:00 – 10:37 PM ET, according to Nielsen, +36% in rating and +39% in audience compared to PBC’s last primetime telecast (1.1/2, 1.8 million viewers on NBC, 12/12/15).
Ratings and viewership built throughout the evening’s broadcast. FOX’s first bout featuring a hard-hitting heavyweight bout between Dominic Breazeale and Amir Mansour delivered a 1.3/2 nrog 2.2 million viewers, while ratings increased slightly for Sammy Vasquez’s TKO win over Aron Martinez with a 1.4/2, nrog 2.2 million viewers. Ratings then jumped for Danny Garcia’s spirited win vs. Robert Guerrero by unanimous decision that averaged a 1.8/3 nrog 3.0 million viewers.

Los Angeles, CA (Lub ib hlis ntuj 23, 2016) Before a crowd of 12,052 at STAPLES Center in downtown Los Angeles, Danny “Ntxhee” Garcia, (32-0, 18 KOs) of Philadelphia won a unanimous 12-round decision over Gilroy, Calif.’s Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero, (33-4, 18 KOs). Scores were 116-112 on all three judges’ scorecard.
Fighting for the vacant WBC Welterweight World Title in the first Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on FOX event, Guerrero came out aggressively in the first four rounds using a solid jab and strong over hand left hands to control the action.
Garcia acclimated well to the pressure in the fifth round, finding his range and using potshotting right hands to halt the oncoming Guerrero. The theme would play itself out during the second half of the fight as well with Garcia dominating the action. Sensing the fight slipping away, Guerrero came on strongly in the final round with both combatants fighting to the bitter end as the crowd stood and roared with approval.
Said Garcia following the victory, “It was what I expected. I knew I would win at least eight or nine rounds. I knew there would be some head butts in there. He head butted me so much on my forehead.
“I was throwing my combinations, using my legs like my dad told me to do. I knew he was going to come to fight. He’s a rugged warrior. I’m back where I belong. I am now a two-division world champion.
“Guerrero is tough. No one has ever stopped him. He came to fight; he was in shape. I’m taking nothing away from him. I am glad it went the way it went. I just want to take some time off, let my body heal and take one day at a time.”
Father/trainer Angel Garcia Hais, “I thought it was a good fight. There were a lot of head butts. He is a dirty fighter. At the end of the day, Danny pulled it off, it doesn’t matter what people say.
“I knew Robert was going to be at 100. It was a world title fight. Anytime it is a world title fight, no one is going to slouch. When you come to fight a former champion or champion, it’s going to be a battle. These are elite fighters and there is always going to be a great fight.”
Stated a disappointed Guerrero, “I want a rematch and that’s it. Not one person out there thought Danny won, but his team. I pressured him, I nailed him, busted his body up. I
out-jabbed him.
“I thought I won the fight. The crowd thought I won the fight. It was a great fight. I am happy I’m healthy. I will be back.
“It’s all for the fans. That’s why they bring me back. They love it and they enjoy it. They were entertained tonight. They thought I won the fight.”
Continued Robert’s father and trainer Ruben Guerrero, “”I know we won it. He kept running and holding, running and holding. How are you going to win a fight when you run and hold every time?
“We wanted to win every round and I think we won every round. I want a rematch. That wasn’t fair. I want a rematch as soon as possible.”
Punch stats showed Garcia with a wide margin of power shots landed, 33 percent to Guerrero’s 24 percent.
In a 10-round welterweight battle, “Sergeant” Sammy Vasquez of Monessen, Pennsylvania improved to (21-0, 15 KOs) with a sixth round stoppage of Aron Martinez, (20-5, 4 KOs) of Michoacan, Mexico.
Peppering Martinez with a piston like jab, Vasquez controlled the action using his full skillset to
score points at will against the slower Martinez. Staying the aggressor through round four and five, Vasquez continued to beat Martinez to the punch using a battering right hook.
The bout ended abruptly as Martinez was not able to continue following the sixth round due
to a left elbow injury.
Said Vasquez, “Of course I won the fight, but Martinez is a tough competitor, a tough Mexican fighter. I tried to mix it up with him a little bit, but there was no sense in me trying to do that. I could have easily outboxed him, which I started to do, but I wanted more. I was just starting to warm up.
“A victory feels good of course, but I wanted more. I wanted to go 12 muab suav, if it would have lasted that long. I wanted a very decisive win. Unfortunately, he got hurt, but every fight is a learning experience for me.
“It’s on to the next chapter and I’m ready for all of the guys at the top. Eventually, I’m going to get them.”
A disappointed Martinez stated, “I hurt my elbow. I couldn’t throw my jab. I started to feel it in the third round. The doctor stopped it.
“I was doing okay. Not my best. I tried, but once I hurt my elbow, I knew it was going to be tough to continue.”
Opening the telecast was an outstanding heavyweight back and forth brawl between
2012 U.S. Olympian Dominic “Trouble” Breazeale, (17-0, 15 KOs) of Glendale, California and Amir “Hardcore” Mansour, (22-2-1, 16 KOs), ntawm Philadelphia.
From the first bell it was readily apparent that both big men would throw bombs throughout
with Mansour in particular throwing caution to the wind.
Swinging wildly Mansour dropped Breazeale early in the third stanza, badly shaking the former
college football quarterback.
However, Breazeale confidently kept his composure, fighting his way back in the fourth. With Mansour apparently running out of gas in the fifth round Breazeale went to work, drilling the
muscular southpaw with battering uppercuts and hooks on the inside.
Following the fifth round, Mansour bit through his tongue and cited a jaw injury (which was not broken) and could not continue as the valiant Breazeale was awarded the well-earned victory.
Said a happy Breazeale, “I didn’t know what happened. Usually when they wave off a fight, it’s over. Shows I have punching power after all.
“I’ve been on the canvas before. I just had my hand in the wrong place. I knew I could get back up. I’m in great shape. It happens to the best of us.
“I’m a fighter at heart and I wanted to just get in there and brawl, but I new I had to stick to the game plan and box him.”
