Rising Promotions signs Isiah Seldon, Marvin Johnson, Dan Murray, David Sparks, Dion Sparks & Dallas Holden to promotional contracts

New Jersey promoter makes first wave of signings
All will be in action on Saturday, November 12th at The Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City
Millville NJ (October 3, 2016)–Rising Promotions is proud to announce the signings of super middleweight Isiah Seldon, super lightweight’s Marvin Johnson & Dan Murray, bantamweight Dallas Holden, cruiserweight David Sparks and featherweight Dion Sparks to exclusive promotional contracts.
They join undefeated heavyweight Quian Davis (3-0-2, 2 KO’s) as the first group of fighters to ink contracts under the Rising Promotions banner.
Davis is coming off a 28 second knockout this past Saturday night in Trenton, New Jersey over Jonathan Hafley
Seldon of Atlantic City, New Jersey has a record of 9-1 with three knockouts.
The 28 year-old son of former WBA Heavyweight world champion, Bruce Seldon, turned professional in 2010 and won his first seven bouts.  Following his lone blemish, Seldon has won two fights in 2016, which includes his latest outing when won a six-round unanimous decision over Eddie Edmond on May 27th in Atlantic City.
“I am happy and excited.  I know they will keep me busy and they are bringing boxing back to Atlantic City.  It’s a blessing,” said Seldon.
Johnson has a record of 1-0-1.  The Bridgeton, New Jersey native is  had a long amateur career of 211-31.  He was a 2007 National PAL in 2007 and 6 time in Florida  PAL champion.  Johnson was a 3 time time Ringside World Championship Runner-Up; 3 time National PAL Runner-Up  Johnson is
24 years-old and turned professional in 2014, and is is coming off a four-round unanimous decision over Lamont White on July 22nd in Atlantic City.
“It’s a blessing and great opportunity in my career.  It puts my family in a better position.  It gives me a good opportunity to fight in front of my hometown fans.  I want to thank Debbie LaManna, Thomas LaManna and Vinny LaManna.   It has effected and changed my family lives.  I was on the shelf for a year and now I get the opportunities to show my skills,” said Johnson.
Murray, 24 years-old of Barnegat, New Jersey was 26-7 as an amateur.  He was a New Jersey Golden Gloves and New Jersey Diamond Gloves champion.

“I am very excited and ready to go out and show the world what I have to offer,  I am glad to sign with Rising Promotions and I will show everyone what I am all about.  I worked very hard and hard work pays off,” said Murray
Holden, 20 years-old of Atlantic City was a highly regarded amateur who amassed 50 fights. Holden fought in the  Philadelphia Golden Gloves.  He has a professional record of 1-0.  Holden turned professional on July 22nd with a four-round unanimous decision over Kevin Asmat in Atlantic City.
“I have known Thomas for a long time and its going to be a good thing.  It’s going to open a lot of doors.  Because of my amateur career, people know me and now they want to see me fight as a professional,” said Holden.
David Sparks of Brooklyn, New York has a record of 2-0.  The 31 year-old turned professional in 2014 and in his latest outing, he won a four-round unanimous decision over Marcellus Yates on March 28, 2015 in Queens, New York
Before turning pro, Sparks competed in 80 amateur fights and amassed 3 National championships, Golden Gloves and Ringside world championships
“Signing came at a great time.  We needed a break in our career.  We have been going through some difficult things.  I expect to fight a lot .  Hopefully every month or two.  I am always in the gym.  Hopefully eight to ten fights.

Dion Sparks, 19 years old,  had 135 amateur fights.  He won 3 national championships and 2 world championships, and at one point was ranked number-one in the United States.

“This is every exciting.  I can do really great with Rising Promotions.  I am young and talented.  We been all over including at Mayweather Gym. I am always in shape and I am ready to fight.  I have great expectations.  I would like to fight 8 to 10 times and just stay active.  I think within two or three years, we can get the right fights and fight for a championship.  They set them up and we will knock them down, “said Dion Sparks.  “we appreciate Rich Masini and all he has done for us.
“We are very excited to announce out first signings,”said Thomas LaManna of Rising Promotions.  “When we started the promotion, one of our missions was to give local fighters opportunities to showcase their abilities.  So to have signed five fighters from New Jersey and two from New York is a great start for us.  I think because of the success of our series at The Claridge has and will continue to attract top talent from this area.  We will continue to look for and sign the best fighters and continue to put on  the top-notch shows that we have over the past year.”

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (July 20, 2016)–This Friday night at the Claridge in Atlantic City, welterweight, Thomas ” Cornflake” LaManna will take on Engleberto Valenzuela in a six-round bout in a card promoted by Rising Promotions.
With a win, the 24 year-old of Millville, New Jersey is staring a big opportunity in the face against an undefeated opponent that is already penciled in for a September 16th date in Atlantic City.
Although, LaManna can not and will not get into specifics of that fight until he comes through the fight with Valenzuela as he is not taking the native of Sonora, Mexico lightly.
“Valenzuela is a guy from Mexico, who will come to fight.  I will try to invest in body work early and see where that goes,” said Lamanna.
LaManna stepped up his training as he started his camp out west and worked with a high class of fighters in an effort to up his skill level.
“Everything went well in camp.  I started out in Las Vegas and worked with 2012 Olympic Gold medal winner Ryota Murata.  Originally I was not going to fight because of the fight in September, But I was feeling good, so we are ready to put on a great performance.”
This is the fourth fight card for Rising Promotions at The Claridge.  The Promotional company headed by Thomas and his mother Debbie.  Putting on a show where LaManna is promoting is a daunting task as he must find time to take care of all aspects in putting a show together, but also train properly for a high-class professional boxing match.
“At times it is difficult to train and work on the promotional aspects of the show.  But I am intelligent enough to oversee that everyone is doing their job.  We have had three shows and I have fought on two of them, and everything has gone well for us and me in the ring as well.  If there is a problem, I fix it, but I am a fighter first.  The training is most important.  That get’s taken care of first, and then I take care of the promotional end of things.”

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (July 19, 2016)–This Friday night at the Claridge in Atlantic City, welterweight, Anthony “Juice” Young will be in the headlining bout for the first time, and he gets to do it in front of his hometown fans as he takes on Eduardo Flores in six-round bout in a card promoted by Rising Promotions.
The 28 year-old former college football player will look for his 2nd straight win and in the process look to put on a dominant performance against a man who has more than three-times the amount of fights then the Atlantic City native.
“Camp has gone well.  I have been sparring with a fighters such as Anthony Burgin, Tevin Farmer, Thomas LaManna and Arturo Padilla,” said Young.
In Flores, he is facing a guy who has faced a litany of prospects and contenders and is by far the most experienced foe that Young has faced.
“I know he is a veteran and has been stopped five times in 47 fights.  I know he is coming to fight and I hope to execute the game plan and then I can be the 6th guy to stop him.”
This will be Young’s 7th fight on the boardwalk and fourth in a row, yet unlike some fighters who do not like fighting at home due to outside demands for tickets, Young embraces the opportunity to perform in front of familiar faces.
“It is always a big deal to fight in front of the home crowd. I feed off of them and it urges me on to put on a great performance.  Even though this is my first headliner, I always feel like I am the headliner no matter where I fight, but especially here.”
Young knows that a few good wins can put him in position to get in line for a great opportunity, but he is not looking past Flores.
“I plan on getting the win on Friday.  I am taking this one fight at a time.  I am looking to get back in the ring in September and hopefully fight for a regional title next year.  I just want everyone to come out on Friday and put on a spectacular performance.”

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (July 1, 2016)–On Friday night, July 22nd, welterweight, Anthony “Juice” Young will headline a great night of boxing against Ariel Vasquez in a scheduled 8-round welterweight bout at The Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City.
Welterweight Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna will take part in a six-round co-feature bout against Eduardo Flores.
The card is promoted by Rising Promotions.
“We are excited to be running our fourth show in seven months at The Claridge,” said Debra LaManna of Rising Promotions.
“We are starting to build a reputation for putting on well matched and exciting cards at The Claridge and July 22nd will be no different.”
Young of Atlantic City has a record of 12-2 with five knockouts will be looking for his second consecutive victory.
The 28 year-old won his first ten bouts that was highlighted by a victory over Jose Javier Calderon (4-1).
This will be Young’s 6th (and 4th consecutive) fight in his hometown.
He is coming off a 6-round unanimous decision victory over Juan Rodriguez on April 29.
Vasquez of Managua, Nicaragua has a record of 12-14-2 with eight knockouts.
Vasquez, 29 years old turned professional in 2005 and fought his first 11 fights in his native Nicaragua.  He twice fought Juan Antonio Rodriguez for the WBC Youth Featherweight title and held undefeated Eliezer Landas (10-0) to a draw in a bout for the WBA Fedecentro Super Bantamweight title.
He has faced six undefeated fighters including his last two.  In his last outing, Vasquez lost a unanimous decision to Jose Felix Quezada (9-0) on May 17 in Carlton, Minnesota.

LaManna of Millville, New Jersey has a record of 20-1 with eight knockouts.
The 24 year-old LaManna turned professional in 2011 and won his first sixteen bouts that were highlighted by wins over Ashandi Gibbs & Jamaal Davis.

Since suffering his only loss to world ranked Middleweight Antoine Douglas on ShoBox: The New Generation, LaManna has won four straight which includes a 6-round unanimous decision over rugged Ayi Bruce on September 26th in Beach Haven, New Jersey.  In his last bout, LaManna stopped Kendal Mena (20-3) in four rounds on March 19th at The Claridge in Atlantic City.
With a win, LaManna will be back in September in a high profile bout.

But he will have to get past Flores, who is a veteran of 47 professional fights (23-21-3, 15 KO’s).
Flores of Quito, Eciador is a battle tested fighter who has faced a bevy of champions and top contenders.
He has been in the ring with world champions Carlos Baldomir & Kermit Cintron as well as contenders Diego Chaves, Brad Soloman, Wale Omotoso, David Zagara, Knat Islam, Bryant Perella, Khiary Gray Pitts, world title challenger Franklin Mamani & Erick Bone.
